Congratulations

Wow, I did not realize until today that it had been since Monday that I had posted.  I have made a few cards, but I guess with doing a spur of the moment trip to Asheville, NC with my daughter and her fiance, I just forgot and really did not have time.  We left early Wednesday morning and returned late last night.  It was a lot of fun, but I like to make better plans than that! lol

Anyway, my daughter is now engaged and I thought I would make this cute little card for her and her fiance to congratulate them on their engagement.  It was actually inspired by four challenges at Christian Paper Crafts.  Their color challenge, Case Artist Wednesday Challenge, Bible Verse Thursday Challenge and their Fun on Friday Challenge.  Today CPC is offering a free year membership if you join today prior to midnight and then make 5 post.  Check it out, you will enjoy the site.

For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! items:

Stamp Sets: Perfect Punches, Valentine Defined
Card Stock: Elegant Egg Plant, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Classic Ink: Elegant Egg Plant, Perfect Plum, Cherry Cobbler,
Markers
1/4" grosgrain ribbon
pearls
paper piercer and pad

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

My Digital Studio/Christmas at Gateway

I have been playing a lot with My Digital Studio and this is a page I made of my Grandchildren at our church.  Nathan will be 5 months old this week and he was the cutest little thing trying to open the present.  They learn early.  Anyway it was a fun page to create and so easy.  I also used the Copy That Scrapbook Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts to get the basic layout for this page.  Check out Christian Paper Crafts.  We have challenges for each day of the week except Sunday and monthly scrapbook challenges.  They are a lot of fun.

These are the items I used to build this page from My Digital Studio:

Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke
Designer Series Paper: Deck the Halls
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Christmas Cheer Elements

Thanks for looking and enjoy your Monday!

FUN ON FRIDAY - Make a bookmark or Tag

Well Merry Christmas Eve to everyone out there.  Hope your day will be blessed in many ways.  Today is actually our Christmas with our kids and grandchildren so I thought I would get this posted and then get busy with the cooking and other things.

I am the host for today's FUN ON FRIDAY Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts and the challenge is to make a bookmark or tag.  But there is one other item you have to do!  Since we are celebrating our Saviors birth, you will need to add a scripture to your challenge.

Here is my bookmark:

As you can see the Scripture I used is a daily reminder that God is in control.  He loves us and if He is able to feed the birds of the air, how much more will He feed us and take care of us!  I am excited to know that I am His child and that today and tomorrow I am able to celebrate His birthday!

For this bookmark, I used Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio.  The paper I used in My Digital Studio is a new download that will be available in the new occasions mini catalog available January 4th.  The paper is called Botanical Gazette, and I printed 3 out on One sheet of naturals white card stock.  I then using the Two Tags Die in the Stampin' Up! big catalog, I cut the book marks out by doubling the paper and leaving a edge under the cutting point at the end.  Hope you understand what I am saying.  Here is a picture of the bookmark opened!

Thanks for looking and hope you all have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS from my home to yours!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!

First Christmas Ornament and Box

Thought I would share with you the ornament I made for my Grandson's first Christmas and the box to put it in for Christmas.  I had shared earlier the ornaments for my Granddaughters' and you can find that post here, along with the directions for the box.

With this ornament, I printed the picture on SU Velum and then ran it through my xyron to give it the sticky back.  I then adhered it to a piece of window sheet.  The circle was cut using the circle scissor for both the vellum and the window sheet.  I then adhered some glitter to the outer part of the circle and then added the glitter to the inside of the glass ornament for a snowy effect.

The box was made using Baja Breeze card stock and the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.  I also used the ornament punch and the stamp set Delightful Decorations which was stamped in real red classic ink onto Whisper White card stock.

Here is the Ornament at a closer angle!

And, here is the box a little closer!

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

All Wrapped Up

Good Monday Morning to all my Cyber friends.  Hope your week has started well.  I started quite early this morning working on this card for my daughter's birthday which is Wednesday!  So many birthdays in December.

I thought last night, "oh my goodness, I have not made Erin's card yet.  So I woke up at 5:00 this morning and when I finished reading my morning devotion, this idea popped into my head and I had to do it right then.  I also had to be at work by 8:00 and I made it.

The Clean and Simple challenge at Christian Paper Crafts was to use buttons and bows.  So that is where the idea of the ribbon and the button came from and this wonderful paper, Spring Time Vintage, which is a preview of what is coming on January 5th in the new mini is what I decided to use.

I guess with all these Christmas packages I have been wrapping kind of worked its way into this card.

Here is a look at the inside of the card:

Here are the items I used to make this card:

Stamp Sets: Birthday Bliss (front), God's Blessings (inside)
Card Stock: Rose Red, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Spring Time Vintage (coming with the new mini on Jan. 5th)
Ink: Rose Red
Ribbon: Very Vanilla satin
Big Designer Buttons Candy Cane
Silver Cord
Extra Large and Large Tag Punches

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

My Digital Studio Plus

Good Saturday to everyone!  Sorry I have been missing in action.  It has really been a busy week for me at work and at home this week.  Trying to finish up last minute Christmas presents, which was making a few more ornaments and boxes for those ornaments.  I will have to post some the rest later.

But I did take a few moments to make a birthday card for my mom.  She will be 80 on December 28th, so I did not want to miss out on making her card.  What inspired this card was the sketch and the color challenge this week at Christian Paper Crafts.

What I did was do the basic card, everything you see except the glitter and the bow in My Digital Studio.  Then I printed it out and using the 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, made a bow and attached it.  I also used the Stampin' Up! two way glue pen to attache the glitter to the banners and the top of the cupcake.  I then attached this to a card base and it was done.  I still need to do the inside, but that part comes easy to me.  When I asked my husband what he thought, he said "Well it don't look like your normal."  So of course I wanted to know what he meant by that.  So he said, "well you usually have a lot of layers that stand out, this looks more like a Hallmark Card which isn't bad."  So I though that was kind of like a compliment.LOL

Here is a list of what I used in my digital studio to make this card:

Stamps: Celebration Pennants, A Little Birthday Cheer, Big Bold birthday, School House Serif Alphabet
Card Stock: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Pacific Point, Pear Pizzaz
Designer Series Paper: Celebrations
Celebration Elements
Square Punch, Rounded Corner Punch
1/4" grosgrain ribbon in My Digital Studio and real ribbon for bow
Glitter put on after it printed

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful Saturday!  Now off to get some cleaning, cooking and wrapping done!

Things I Love/Valentine Defined

Well Monday is almost over and Christmas one day closer!  Hope everyone is almost ready.  I am getting there.  This is a card I made for two challenges!  First of all this weeks Clean and Simple Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts was a sketch!  So that is what inspired the basics of this card.  Then the challenge this week over at Late Night Stampers is to celebrate their 100th challenge.  How great is that?  So I thought I would make this card, which is probably my husband's valentine card (hope it does not look to feminine).  But for the inside of the card, I used the new stamp set "Valentine Defined" and I think I am going to love this set.  Which I love all the sets.  Can't you tell!

Here is the inside of the card!

Hope you like it!  Items used are:

Stamp Sets: Things I Love, Valentine Defined
Card Stock: Confetti White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Rose Red
Markers
Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think!

Bells & Boughs meet Greeting Card Kids

Good Sunday Evening to you!  I have been out of town all day today.  Went and did Christmas with my husbands family and checked in on mine.  So it has really been a long day.  But home now and decided to post this card that I did for the Stamping 411 Sketch challenge.  I used Marina Mist, Brushed Silver and Whisper White card stock.  That is the color challenge this past week at Late Night Stampers!

I used the new water color crayons to do the coloring and then blended it by using the blender pen.  I also used the platinum shimmer paint to sponge the edges of the white paper around the image.

Other Stampin' Up! items used:

Stamp Set: Bells & Boughs, Greeting Card Kids
Classic Ink: Marina Mist, Chocolate Chip
Whisper White Satin Ribbon
2 1/2" round punch, 2 1/4" scallop punch
Petals a Plenty embossing folder.

Altered Sewing Kit/Sneak Peak

Hello all and hope your Saturday has been a good one.  Today, I am giving you a sneak peak of what is to come for January.  This designer paper is from the new mini catalog that starts January 5th and is called sweet stitches.  You will also be able to purchase it in digital format for My Digital Studio.  The sewing machine comes from the stamp set "Sew Suite" and just how cute is that.  I used the paper and the sewing machine to make this Sewing Kit for my daughter and will be making another for my other daughter.  I altered a small lunch box that I had purchased a while back for 99 cents at AC Moore.  As soon as I saw this paper and this stamp set, I knew I was going to make this sewing kit.

This is the side view and the back of the sewing kit!

This is the inside of the sewing kit!

I also used this as part of the Fun on Friday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts where you were to alter something.

Thanks so much for looking and hope you all have a wonderful day!

CPC Fun On Friday Challenge/Altered Candle

Good Friday Morning to everyone!  Hope you have had a great week and now getting ready for the weekend.  I know I am ready for the weekend.

Anyway, this week, for the Fun On Friday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts, I chose to alter something!  When I was deciding what the challenge would be for today, I saw this verse and it was the decision maker. Luke 9:29 As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening.

So for todays challenge we will be altering something. You can alter a bag, a candle, a tin, a picture frame, anything that can be altered. The appearance of the item will definitely take on a whole "new appearance."  You can make a plain item look beautiful.  The object is to have fun.   That is why it is called Fun On Friday.  So get to work and alter something.

Today, I chose to alter a 6" X 3" pillar candle.  I added an image, some Designer paper and some ribbon.  If you would like to see how to add an image to your candle, here is a link to a wonderful Tutorial.  And, here is my candle!

With this candle, I used the stampin' Up! set "City of David" which is a retired set, but I still have to go back to it each year.  Once I adhered the image to the candle (see link to tutorial above on how to do this), I then cut a peice of Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper and adhered to the bottom of the candle.  I then tied a peice of 1/8" taffeta early espress ribbon around the designer paper.  And, you see what the candle looks like.
Thanks so much for looking and hope you like the candle.

Enjoy your Friday!

Ornaments and Box

Happy Wednesday to everyone.  Went back to work yesterday and had a Christmas Party last night, so I am a little behind on my posting.  But thought I would share with you a gift box and ornament I made for my two granddaughters.  Of course now I need to make one for my grandson and my two daughters and their significant other.  I was really happy with the outcome and such an easy ornament and box to make.

All items that I mention are Stampin' Up! unless other wise mentioned.  I did the ornaments with pretty in pink refill ink by putting 25 drops inside the ornament and then moving it around until it covered the whole inside.  Then I poured in some Dazzling Diamonds glitter inside and swooshed it around until it covered the whole inside and then poured back into the tray to go back into its container.  I then ran a sheet of Whisper White card stock through a zyron to get it sticky on one side.  I then punched the snow flake out of the Whisper White, Martha Stewart Snowflake punch, and using the two way glue pen applied glue to the front of the whisper white and then covered the snowflake with dazzling diamonds glitter.  I did three snowflakes for each ornament and waited for it to dry, maybe 5 minutes.  During that time I ran both names of the girls and the year on pretty in pink card stock through my printer, punched it out using the new small oval punch, covered it in dazzling diamonds.  I then removed the backing from the snowflakes and adhered them to the ornament.  I then added the tombow glue to the back of the name and put it on the back of the ornament (pictures below).  How easy and simple of that?  Beware, you will have glitter everywhere! LOL

Front of ornament

Back of Ornament!

Box I made to put ornament in!

Dimensions for the box are as follows:

Cut a piece of blushing bride card  stock 10 1/2 X 7.  Score at 3 1/2 and 7 on the long side. Turn and score at 2 3/4 on the short side.  (I think I said that right)  Then cut another piece of blushing bride card stock at 4 X 7.  Score on each side of the 4" side at 1/4" then turn and score on the 7" side at 2 3/4.  This piece you can cut out the 1/4" from each side, from bottom up to the 2 3/4".  Leave top in place.  See the photo below, the bottom piece how I cut out each side.

Then adhere these two pieces together by using the sticky strip tape on the 1/4" sides and adhering to the other piece.

Using sticky strip close bottom of box.

Top is cut at 5 5/8 X 5 5/8 and then score at 1" on all sides.  Cut as below and then adhere together.

Decorate box as needed.  I cut 4 pieces of Designer Series Paper 4 X 3 1/4" to go around base.  And then cut a strip 12 X 3/4 and then 4 X 3/4 to finish off around the top of the lid.  Then using the ornament punch and the Delightful Decorations punched out my tag.  I then cut a slit in each side of the top of the box and ran my ribbon through tied in a bow and the box is done.

Thanks so much for looking and hope you understood my directions.  If not please feel free to e-mail me and I will be glad to get back to you.  E-mail in side bar on right.

Thanks again and please leave a comment!

Clean & Simple/God's Blessings

Good Monday Morning!  As I am posting this it is really hard to see as I am still having some blurred vision from my surgery, so I hope this picture is OK and I also hope I am typing everything OK!

This card is my sample for this weeks challenge at SU Late Night Stampers.  The challenge is to make a card with the colors Blue, White and Silver.  Wonderful colors together.  Also, the Clean and Simple Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts was to use only one embellishment.  Well I guess I used the waffle paper as an embellishment.  And then the challenge over at SU Only blog was to do a clean and simple Christmas Card.  So with all of those challenges in my mind, this is what I came up with.  So on with how I made the card.

So I used the Bashful Blue card stock and used the Flowers-a-Plenty Embossing folder.  I then took a sponge dauber and using my white craft ink, I sponged the flowers with the white which caused them to stand out a little more.  I then took the hostess set Northern Hearts and stamped the snow flakes in bashful blue onto Whisper White card stock.  Once that was done, I used versamark and stamped the saying from the stamp set God's Blessings, then covered it with silver embossing powder and heated it to make the saying stand out.  Then I cut my oval out and applied adhesive to the back, cut two pieces of waffle paper at 3/4" and started pleating and adhering to the back of the oval.  Attached all of this to the base of the card and it is done.

I did do the inside by stamping the same snowflakes on piece of whisper white and then adhering to the top of the inside.  Our of the same stamp set, I stamped the birds down at the bottom.  Then I again using the versamark and the silver embossing powder I stamped the Merry Christmas on the whisper white and then attached to the bottom inside of the card.  The Merry Christmas came from the stamp set Four the Holidays.

Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a wonderful week!

Delightful Decorations

Good Sunday Morning!  Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  This is a card that was inspired by two challenges!  First the colors came from Christian Paper Crafts Monday Color Challenge which was to use Perfect Plum, Silver and White!  So I used Stampin' Up!s Perfect Plum, Brushed Silver and Whisper White.  Wow what a match of wonderful colors.  I just love them together.

The second challenge and what inspired the Christmas Card was the SU Late Night Stampers challenge where we were to make a Christmas Card with non-traditional colors.  I think this card passes for non-traditional Christmas Colors.  I hope to use them for a few more before the season is over.  Beautiful together!

Other items used that are Stampin' Up!:
Stamps: Delightful Decorations
Northern Flurry embossing folder
Pearls
Whisper White satin ribbon
Ornament Punch
Silver Chord

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Joy and Cheer

Well Good Saturday afternoon everyone.  I am feeling much better today and the swelling around my eyes is starting to go down a little.  It will be good to be back to normal.  At least I was able to see to do this card.  Actually what inspired this card was the Stamping 411 Sketch today.  And, most of the card was done in My Digital Studio, then printed out, Bow attached with brad and coloring done to the image, and then attached to the cherry cobbler card stock (base).  Then I spritzed it a little with some vanilla shimmer spritz.  How easy is that!

I had gotten a little of the antibiotic salve in my eyes, so the coloring is not the best.  I should have waited until it cleared, but I was excited to get it done.  Below is what I printed out.

So here are the items I used in My Digital Studio:

Stamps: Winter Post, Wishes & Greetings
Designer Kit: Christmas Cheer Designer Series Paper, Christmas Cheer elements
Ribbon: Seam Binding Always Artichoke
Card Stock: Marina Mist

Stampin' Up! items I used to finish up card:

Markers: Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist, Basic Gray
Ribbon: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding (Bow)
Brad: Glimmer Brights
Card Base: Cherry Cobbler Card Stock

Christmas Blessings

Wow, Friday already.  Sorry I have been missing, but I had eye surgery on Wednesday and it is kind of hard to work on the computer with swollen eyes along with my eyes dry out so quickly.  Anyway, here is a card that was inspired by last weeks bible verse challenge and Clean and Simple at Christian Paper Crafts.  I am also using it for Clean and Simple at SUO challenge which is to go Clean and Simple for Christmas Cards.

This is very similar to the card I used for the stamp-a-stack I did, but I did not color the flower in this one and I did in the one for the stamp-a-stack.  Also, I used a different sentiment.  This sentiment comes fro a retired set called City of David.  You can use any sentiment, but to be covered in the Bible Verse challenge, I wanted to use this sentiment.  You also had to use a Bible Verse, so I did do the inside of the card also using the verse from the City of David Stamp set.

Stampin' Up! items used:

Stamp Sets:  Delightful Decorations, Bells and Boughs, City of David
Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Whisper White
Classic Ink: Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler
Ribbon: Always Artichoke Seam Binding
Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder

Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a wonderful evening and weekend!
