Botanical Gazette Designer Paper

Good Monday morning!  Hope you are all refreshed after this wonderful weekend.  This weeks challenge for the LateNightStampers Group is to use a bird on your creation.  And the first thing I thought of was the 12 X 12 Designer Series paper called Botanical Gazette.  I just love this paper and the one sheet with the bird is absolutely beautiful.  So I just cut the bird out to a 4 X 5 1/4" size (trying to get as much of the bird and nest as possible into the main frame of the card).  Attached it to a piece of bashful blue card stock cut at 5 3/8 X 4 1/8" and then attached it to the card stock Early Espresso, cut at 5 1/2 X 8 1/2  and then folded in half to make the base of the card.  The last thing I did was stamp the Thinking of You in early espresso classic ink.  The sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  How easy is that and such a pretty card.  I also added some of the same paper to the inside of the card to finish it off.  That was one of my goals for this year was to finish off the inside of all my cards.  So far so good!

Thanks for stopping by and I would love to hear what you think!

"L" is for LOVE

Good Sunday Morning to all of my cyber friends out there!  Do you ever feel as though you are too busy to think?  Well lately that is the way I am feeling with trying to get all my work done at home, work my outside job, do my crafting which is my way of relaxing and working on a May Wedding for my daughter.  Wow!  Any way, I did get this card done last night prior to going out with my daughter and her fiance, and of course let's don't forget my dear husband who is totally neglected, to talk even more about the wedding.

This card was inspired by quite a few different challenges.  The sketch of course came from one of my favorite places to receive inspiration, Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge.  They have some great sketches, color challenges and even some technique training.  Love dropping by there.

It was also inspired by the Clean and Simple Saturday challenge at Christian Paper Crafts which was to use dry embossing on your card.  So as you can see I used that at the top of the card.  Just a little more added effect.

And also by SUO challenges where you are to do a Valentines Day Creation.  So as you can see, I think I also qualify for that one.  It has been a long time since I was able to do so many challenges with one card.  But as you can see, I did it!!!!!

Everything on the card is Stampin' Up! except for the embossing at the top which was from a pack of cuddlebug edge embossing folders.  Cannot remember the name of them at this time.

Stampin' Up! Items Used:
Stamp Sets: Punch Potpourri (Hostess), Grateful Greetings
Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler (around the small oval)
Designer Series Paper: Love Letter
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black
3/4 X 15/16" Medium Oval Punch
Extra Large Heart Punch
Pinking Heart Border Punch
Heart to Heart Extra Large Punch (just used the small heart)
Fine Galaxy Stampin Glitter
1/8" Taffeta Real Red Ribbon
1/8" Taffeta Very Vanilla Ribbon
Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz (love that stuff)

Thanks for looking and hope you all have a very blessed Lord's day!  Now off to get ready for church.

Fun On Friday Challenge - Joseph's Coat Technique

Joseph's Coat Technique - that is our Fun on Friday Technique that we are doing at Christian Paper Crafts today.  I co-host this challenge with Robyn Stiffler and this is the scripture we chose to go along with this challenge.

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors. Genesis 37:3

So today as you look through some of your papers and stamps think about joining us at Christian Paper Crafts and try out the Joseph's Coat Technique.  Here is a link to a tutorial on splitcoast where they use a brayer for this technique.  I used a sponge on one card and a brayer on the other, but you can do it either way.  Here are my two samples for this weeks challenge.

With this sample, I used more subtle colors except for the Navy!  And also with this card everything was done using a sponge.

With this card I sponged darker colors underneath then clear embossed the flowers and then brayered over using Basic Black.  So it is a little darker and I used brighter colors than the other.

If you come to Christian Paper Crafts and link your creation, please mark with  keyword FOF90.  For posting in other galleries or on your blog please use the keywords CPC-FOF90.   If you are able to use this technique, please let me know and leave a link for me to see in the comment section. I would love to know about it and to see your wonderful creation.

Copy That Scrapbook Challenge

Hello my fellow stamping buddies!  Today I started hosting a Scrapbook challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts called "Copy That" and I am so excited to be sharing it here on my blog also.  It will be posted the 4th Thursday of every month.  This is my write up for the challenge at Christian Paper Crafts:

To save some time in developing a layout, why not take a cue from the professionals? The advertisement gurus work hard to present an appealing layout, one that will capture our attention and please the eye.

Let the copy of the attached advertisement below inspire you. Whether you are inspired by the sketch design, the colors, or any of the elements or shapes, use the ad to scrap your own layout.

Now after looking at the advertisement, please tell us how you were inspired when you post your layout.

For my layout, I was inspired by the layout of the ad and that is what I used for my page. I love to use a lot of pictures and it gave me the opportunity to do just that.

Can't wait to see how this advertisement inspires you! Please use the keyword CT05 when uploading your layouts to the gallery at Christian Paper Crafts or CPC-CT05 when posting to your blog or another gallery.  And if you would like, please leave a comment below and let me know if you used this advertisement.  I would love to see what you came up with.

My Digital Studio was used to prepare my Layout!  The card stock colors are Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Green Galore!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

For You/Cocoas Gift

How cute is this little mouse!  I am usually a 99% Stampin' Up! girl, but when I saw this little mouse I had to have him.  He is just too cute.  He is actually a digital image and I am not that great with digital images unless they are in My Digital Studio.  But what inspired this card was the sketch from The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to use Cocoa the Mouse.  And then the challenge at Crazy 4 Cocoa was to use buttons.  So I added the buttons across the top.

Items used in this card are:

SNS Cocoas Gift (digital)

Sponging a beach scene

Hello fellow stampers!  Our challenge this week for the LateNightStampers group is to do a card about where are you from!  There are so many ways you can interpret this and here is the wording that went out to the group today!

Our challenge this week is to make a card that represents the city, state or country where you live. (or where you were born/raised). Some examples: Wisconsin - use cheese, mouse, cow images on your card.  Florida - use Disney images on your card.  You get the idea! This will be so much fun. I am so looking forward to seeing all the creative cards you submit.

So there you have it!  Since I live near the beach (4 miles) I decided to do a beach scene.  Of course it is not the best, but it kind of looks like a beach.  Anyway, it was fun to do.  Now if I can figure out how to do a NC Tarheel card, I will be in there!

All products used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set: Plant Hope, Teeny Tiny wishes
Card Stock: Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Whisper White
Ink used for sponging: Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, So Saffron
Markers: Garden Green, Chocolate Chip

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!

MOM!

Hope all of you are doing well on this wonderful Sunday!  It seems as though the time passes to quickly on Sundays and then I am back to the work week.  But, that is OK!  It just means I still have a job and God is still in control.

This is a card I made this afternoon for the Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge.  Most of the time when I see a sketch, I go through some of my most recent stamp sets to see what might work for that particular sketch.  This time I went through my older, but still active stamps and this is the one that kind of said, "It's my turn."  I just love this set and last year right after I got it, for about 3 months straight made a card to send to my mom each month.  I think it was because of all the sentiments that come with it.  Each month I used a different one, but they all described her perfectly!  Can you tell I love my MOM!

Also the colors were inspired by a photo for this weeks color challenge at Christian Paper Crafts!  I just love to look at photos to be inspired.  We all see them differently don't we?

This is the inside of the card with the sentiment!

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Card Stock: So Saffron, Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Sunny Garden
3/8" whisper white Taffeta Ribbon

Think On These Things

I can not believe that we are getting snow again.  Which I am not sure what it is.  A mixture between snow and ice.  But anyway, it is cold.

This is a card I made last night for two challenges at Christian Paper Crafts, the Wednesday Case Artist Challenge and the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge.  Please go by and check these out.  We have a lot of fun there.  With this card, I was a little out of my comfort zone, but I guess it turned out OK.  The person I cased makes these absolutely beautiful cards that are out of this world and I don't think mine even compares to hers.  But it is OK.

The Bible Verse challenge was to use the word beautiful or something that is beautiful.  So I used the verse with lovely in it and felt like that would work.  One good thing about these challenges is that there are no challenge police!  I love that!  The Scripture is WordArt from Paper Craft Memories and Karen has many free WordArt verses to download.  So please check her blog out.

Here is a close up of all the items on the card!  I actually cut the flowers from the same digi paper you see on the card.  The backside of the paper has the flowers.

All items used are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

Stamp Set: Flight of the Butterfly
Card Stock: Not Quite Navy, Rose Red, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Springtime Vintage
Ink:  Not Quite Navy, Rose Red
Vintage flower, Rosettes Vanilla, Butterfly punch, Scissors, Ticket Punch

Rhinestones are Colorbok!
Thanks for looking and hope you have a great day!

Sympathy Card

Happy Sunday evening to you!  There are just times when you know you have outdone yourself and this is one of those times.  I am loving this card!  Hate to brag, but this one just seemed to be exactly what I was after when I started this card.  Just don't seem to happen often enough for me.

So now on to tell you what inspired this card.  First of all the sketch at stamping 411 was the starting point of my inspiration.  Their sketch this week is fabulous.  Second, I knew this week challenge at LateNightStampers was to make a sympathy card, so I needed something that went along with that challenge.  Third, I have been wanting this stamp set since the catalog came out in July and I finally ordered it a couple of weeks ago and had been looking for just the right card.  It all seemed to fit for this card, so here it is.

To color this image, I first stamped the image in Not Quite Navy.  Then using a blender pen and always artichoke ink, I colored in the leaves.  I then pulled out the very vanilla craft ink and using the blender pen colored in the flower.  The funny thing was as I colored it in, the not quite navy kind of blended with the very vanilla and I love the color.  It is almost a baja breeze which is why I used the vintage flower.  Last but not least, I put the always artichoke card stock and the very vanilla cardstock together and then used the new embossing folder "Framed Tulips" and sponged around the tulips soft suede ink to give it a little vintage look and finished it off with some vanilla shimmer smooch spritz.

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp Sets: Happiness Shared, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke, Not Quite Navy
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede
Vintage Flower
Framed Tulip embossing folder
Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz
Blending Pen

Thanks so much for looking and please let me know what you think!

Snow Layout - January 2011

Would you say that this page makes you say Brrrrrr, Baby it's cold outside!  That is our challenge this week at LateNightStampers.  You are to make a project that makes you say Brrrrrr.

So with all the snow we had on Monday, I decided to do this page using My Digital Studio and I love it.  I still have a few more I would like to put together since we do not have much snow here.  It reminds us of how blessed we are to stay where we do.  Cold is something I do not tolerate very well.  But it is fun to have snow for a few days.

The downloads I used were:
Card Stock: Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler
Designer Series Paper: Christmas Cheer
Punches: Round Oval, Snowflake

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Vintage Vogue Friends

I have not used my vintage vogue stamp set in quite a while and when I saw this sketch from Christian Paper Crafts, I just had to use it again.  Also the Monday Color challenge inspired the colors. for this card.  I went a little more vintage than expected, but I like it.

I made the designer paper by using the stamps from the Vintage Vogue and the following ink: Tangerine tango, Old Olive, Regal Rose and then sponged in between and on the edges with Chocolate Chip.  The card stock used is crumb cake, very vanilla, tangerine tango, old olive, and basic black.  Used the crochet Chantilly lace for the bow.

Other items used are:

scallop trim border punch, antique brads and oval scallop sizzix die.

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

A card that says BRRRRRRRR!

Good Monday Morning everyone!  Was suppose to be at work today, but because it is snowing I am home posting this card that says BRRRRRRR!

Actually, and right on time, the LateNightStampers group challenge this week is to make a card that says Brrrrr.  So this is the card I made.  I also used the Stamping 411 sketch this week which I love.

Another thing I did with this card is a technique I do not use very often but always love the turnout, masking!  Masking is where you stamp the image twice, once for the project and one to cut out.  You place the cut out image over the image on the project and then sponge where needed and stamp where needed.  Take off the cut off piece and you have a scene.  How easy is that?

All items used are Stampin' Up!:

Stamp Sets: Winter Post, Plant Hope, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock: Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Classic Ink: Basic Black, Always Artichoke, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue
Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder
3/8" Taffeta Ribbon Whisper White
Markers
Dazzling diamonds glitter
Two-Way Glue

Thanks for looking and hope you all have a wonderful day!  Blessing to you all.

Two More My Digital Studio Christmas Layouts

Wow, I have been having some fun with my digital studio.  These are two more layouts that I did last week from Christmas.  My Grandchildren are so sweet to sit there why Grammy gets all the pictures she wants especially when they are wanting to open presents.  But I am so glad I did get the pictures and one year they will be also.  Memories are so important.

I get so many of the grand kids that I decided to do a page of the adults and still had to get one of the grandchildren in the picture.

Thanks for looking and below is a list of downloads used in these two pages:

Stamp Set: Welcome Christmas
Designer Paper: Jolly Holiday
Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Baja Breeze

Fun On Friday Challenge - Get Well Cards

The Fun On Friday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts this week is to make a Get Well Card.

What inspired this idea for this challenge was the following verse.  When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick. Matthew 14:14  Just as Jesus had compassion on the sick, we should have compassion.

So, today’s challenge is to make a get well card. If you are like me, I wait until someone is sick and then I rush to make a card. Today is my chance to get a head start.

I actually used my digital studio for the image and the sentiment.  The sketch I used was this weeks sketch challenge at Christian Paper Crafts and the colors were the color challenge.  So I did three challenges with one card.

The stamp set and image are from the stamp set Thoughts & Prayers.  Used Blush Blossom and Peach Parfait Card Stock.  Designer Series Paper is the Sunny Garden.  1/2" stitched poly ribbon.  Other items used was the scallop trim border punch.

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful Friday!

Me and My Hubby Scrapbook Page

Good Wednesday Morning everyone!  I do not usually do scrapbook pages of me except maybe with my grandchildren occasionally, but I thought our Christmas Pictures turned out so well that I wanted to preserve the memory.  So here are two of my favorite that I decided to scrap.  Of course I am loving my digital studio and it makes scrap booking so easy.  Don't worry, I will still do a few with my hands as I still love to work with the paper, punches and ribbon.  What actually inspired this page was the scrapbook sketch challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.  If you like to scrapbook, please join us.  You will love the challenges they put together each month.

Also I thought I would use this for this weeks challenge at LateNightStampers as I would love to do a lot more scrapbooking this year.  And, I would love to do more scrapbooking of my husband and me.  I always am scrapbooking the grandkids or my children, but I seem to forget about us.  So for one of my goals this year I am adding scrapbook hubby and me!

All items used were from My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up!

Designer Paper: Jolly Holiday
Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla
Stamp Set: Christmas Greetings

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!  Please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Aknowledge Him - New Years Resolution

New Years Resolutions - Do you make New Years resolutions.  Well I don't because I always seem to break them, but this weeks challenge at LateNightStampers is to make a project that goes along with your New Years Resolution.  So I thought what is something I want to do this year that would be my goal for the year.  Then I saw this verse and decided to make a card.

This year I would like to acknowledge our Lord in everything I do and allow Him to direct my paths.  If I can do that, then I will have the best year ever.  I am excited about this year and am praying for great things to happen as I walk in the paths that God has directed.

So how did I do this card?  I used "My digital Studio" to start of with the main focus of the card by printing out this designer series paper called Summertime Splendor.  If you have My digital Studio and do not have this paper downloaded, you need to get it.  It is beautiful all the way around.  But, before I printed it out, I added the scripture by using the text box.  Once it was printed out, I cut it to 5" by 3 3/4" then attached to the garden green card stock and then attached to the card base which is the rich razzleberry card stock.  And to add a little dimension to the card, by using the beautiful wings embosslit die with the rich razzleberry card stock, the butterflies were born.  I just added some rhinestones to them and attached them to the card.  Just that simple and quick.  And, I think it made a beautiful card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Christmas Scrapbooking using My Digital Studio

While we were traveling last week, I took my computer and did these pages on our way to Asheville, NC.  They were so easy and so much fun and all did with My Digital Studio.  I just love the way they turned out and am excited at how they printed out also.  One page for each of the grandchildren.  So now all I have to do is get the book ready for them to go into.  My Digital Studio is "The Bomb"!!!!!!

I have a couple more to share with you, but will get them posted as soon as I can!  Enjoy your Monday evening!  Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine

Good Sunday Morning my friends!  Hope you all had a wonderful 1st day of this year 2011.  I really believe it is going to be a great year.  On my blog the last couple of days, I guess you could say love is in the air.  I just love Valentines cards.  Don't really celebrate Valentines day any different than any other time of the year except for giving my grandchildren a special treat, but I do send out cards to my family and let them know I am thinking about them.  So you will probably see quite a few of these cards going up.  Am unsure of how I really feel about this one, but I was trying to do three challenges with it.  First of all the sketch challenge for Stamping 411 which I love doing their challenge each week if possible, the Saturday Clean and Simple Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts which was to use some bling and something new, and then the Late Night Stampers which was to doodle.  So I made it with all three challenges.
