For Your Baby Shower!

How cute is this paper!  I had been wanting to use this paper and finally this came to me when I saw the Stamping 411 sketch for this week.  Last week I did a baby card with their sketch and then this weekend I did another one with their sketch!  Wonder if we are going to have another baby boom at our church.  Last year we had 5 new babies and we have a small church!

Now to get back on the subject.  I just love this paper and may even have to do a Easter Card with it.  I love paper when it will go many ways and this paper definitely does that.  This is also my sample for this weeks challenge over at LateNightStampers.  This week we are working on creating any type of kid card or project. Well mine is more of a baby card, but isn't a baby a kid. lol

Items used are Stampin' Up!

Embosslits/Beautiful Wings/Hi

Happy Sunday Morning to all of you!  We are in full swing of making the invitations for my daughter's wedding, but I did have a few minutes to play yesterday before my DD's got to the house and this is the card I made.  There is no stamping, just a little sponging.

What inspired this card was the Clean and Simple Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts where you were to use one color and a neutral.  So I decided to use the Concord Crush and the natural white!  The designer paper is from the pack of in color paper that is a hostess level one in the catalog.  Actually I have not used much at all of the Concord Crush and then the last two cards I have made was with this color.  It kinda just catches your eye and you can't let it go.

For the sentiment I used the embosslits die "Hi"!  And then sponged over the top to make it show up more using the concord crush ink pad.  Then I decided to add the butterflies so I then used the Beautiful Wings embosslits die and then sponged over the embossing of the butterflies with the same ink.  Just helped them to stand out a little more.

Well I hope you like this card and it was so simple and easy.  Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.  Now off to get ready for church!

"B" is for Birthday

I share a Fun on Friday challenge with Robyn for Christian Paper Crafts and there are times I just think what inspiration I receive from this person.  She is such a wonderful Christian Women and I am thankful to have her as a friend!  Here is her description for this weeks challenge:

""FOF94 FEBRUARY 25, 2011 His Banner over me is Love! I have been looking at some of the newer designs in cards. I have seen several with banners on them. Looking at the Memories Expo, I also see someone is teaching a class titled, Something about Banners. Looking around you can often see banners making some sort of announcement.

In The Song of Solomon, we read the ultimate story of love, symbolized as Christ's love for us and the love He desires us to feel for him. In chapter 2:4 we read:  4 Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love.

Remember the song we sang as children, His Banner over me is LOVE?

This week, we invite you to make a banner to share your talents. Have fun and go where you are led.  Use key words FOF94 when posting here and CPC FOF94 on your blog or elsewhere on the net!  Have fun, I am looking forward to seeing the fun ideas you share as time allows!"

Isn't that just a wonderful way to bring in a challenge.  If you would like to see Robyn's sample go to this post, or enter this weeks challenge you can find it here at Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.  Mr. inlinkz at end of post!

Now here is my sample for this weeks challenge!

My card was of course inspired by this Fun on Friday Challenge, but I also used last weeks stamping 411 challenge.  I did another card for this challenge and liked the sketch so much, that I used it again.

So now get some banners going and please join Christian Paper Crafts, Robyn and myself for this challenge.

February Workshop

Hope everyone had a wonderful day!  I cannot believe that I had a workshop tonight and am already home.  It went so quick and was so much fun.  I think everyone really enjoyed their projects!

Our theme this month was birthday!  And, we started with this great scrapbook page!

I think it was easier than I was anticipating it being.  For the title, I had printed out 5 on a 12 X 12 piece of whisper white card stock using my digital studio and had them already cut out for the group of ladies, which I always have everything cut out, so all they have to do  is stamp and or punch.  With both of my projects tonight we used the Ice Cream parlor Designer Series paper pack.  And then of course I had to purchase the Notes and Details stamp set just for scrapbooking!  I just love it and it is so great to help you journal.  I have not wrote anything as of yet, but will within the next few days.  Also used the Create a Cupcake and the new Build a cupcake punch!  Wonderful stuff to make a wonderful scrapbook page.  Other items were Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and the two way glue, pearls and also the ribbon and buttons from the ice cream parlor series in the Sale-a-bration book!

Our final project and 2nd project was our card!  Isn't this just the cutest card!  I had seen one that Ann Fitton had done like it and knew it would be a wonderful card for a workshop and boy was it.  Thanks Ann for the inspiration.  I think hers was portrait and mine is landscape.

With this card, I used the same stamp set which is the Create a Cupcake set and then used the build a cupcake punch.  I also used the 1 3/8" punch for the circles and again the ribbon and the buttons from Sale-a bration.  What a wonderful set this is and free with the purchase of $50 in merchandise from Stampin' Up!  Card stock is the Peach parfait, melon mambo, pacific point, daffodil delight and whisper white.  The embossing folder is the square lattice.

The last think I am going to show is the "Bits & Pieces" Jar I made for the hostess to be able to put button or whatever into and it can sit on your table or wherever you would like.  I actually used a jar that had apple butter in it and when it was gone, I just kept the jar.  There is nothing like recycling!!!  And after decorating, I added some buttons and other items to it.

Thanks for looking everyone and hope you have a wonderful evening!

Copy That Scrapbook Challenge

On the fourth Thursday of each month, I host a scrapbook challenge for Christian Paper Crafts!  So here is this months challenge from my post there!

OK everyone; it is that time again to get some inspiration from the advertisement gurus. Below I have attached an ad I think will capture your attention just as it did mine. Let this advertisement inspire you, whether you are inspired by the sketch design, the colors, or any of the elements or shapes, use the ad to scrap your own layout. Please tell me how you were inspired when you post your layout.

I was inspired by the layout and liked the fact that it gave a main focal point on an image, yet gave you options for more images. Also, the fact that it inspired a little journaling was a good thing.

So now it is your turn to check out the ad and see what you come up with.

Here is the ad!

Here is my interpretation of this ad!

Can't wait to see how this advertisement inspires you!

If you join us at Christian Paper Crafts, please use the keyword CT06 when uploading your layouts to the gallery or CPC-CT06 when posting to your blog or another gallery.  Also you can link your layout to our CPC Blog which you will find this challenge here to link to:

Springtime Vintage

Hello everyone!  Hope you are having a wonderful day.  With a few days of beautiful weather, we are now back into the 30's at night and the 50's during the day!  So I can say I am definitely ready for spring.  Hopefully this weekend!

Anyway, today's card is for this weeks Wednesday Case Artist Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.   The artist we are to case this week is Korin, owner of sweet n sassy.

For my card, I actually used a digital image from sweet n sassy for this challenge.  And, to do the paper piecing part, I used My Digital Studio to print the Designer paper out and then ran it back through the printer and printed the image onto the Designer paper.  I then cut the image part that I needed for the paper piecing out and attached to an image that I had printed earlier on white card stock.  The paper I used from My Digital Studio is the Springtime Vintage paper which is in the new mini catalog and it is beautiful!  I love it.  So as you can see you can do paper piecing with a digital image!  How great is that?

Blossom Petals Punch

Good Tuesday Morning to everyone!  I am loving this new punch by Stampin' Up! called Blossom Petals Punch and you can do so much with it.  Actually what inspired this card was two challenges from Christian Paper Crafts.  First of all their Color Monday Inspiration Challenge.  You can see the inspiration photo here!  Also the other challenge is their Tuesday Sketch Challenge and you can see the sketch here!  I took a little liberty with the sketch by not using all the layering, but you can still see where I got my inspiration.

I took all the petals on the flower and sponged them with Cherry Cobbler and then the leaves I sponged with Pear Pizzazz.  This is one of the few cards I actually cut to 5" X 10" and folded in half to make a 5" card.  I just usually stick with 4 1/4" square if I am making a square card and then it fits into the A2 envelope size and there is no additional postage.  With most square cards there is additional postage.  So since I make so many cards and try to mail as many out as possible, I do keep it as easy as possible to mail.

Stampin' Up! Items Used:
Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz
Classic Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Cherry Cobbler
Designer Series Paper: In Color (Hostess)
Ribbon: 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain
1/2" taffeta ribbon
Blossom Petals Punch
Elegant Lines Embossing Folder
Vintage Flower

Thanks for looking today and I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Hello there Baby Bear

Monday Morning already!  The weekend just seems to fly by for me.  I guess I just stay too busy.  And Sunday with church and all the other activities, is gone before you know it.  Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and a great start to your week so far.

Isn't this just the cutest card and two challenges inspired this card!  Today's challenge at LateNightStampers is to use your Big Shot!  So I used the perfect polka dots embossing folder for this project.  I also used the sketch challenge from Stamping 411.  I have missed their sketches for the last two weeks and I wanted to make sure I used this one.  It was great for this particular stamp set and I just love blue and brown together.  But, I love brown with a lot of colors so if it would have been pink or yellow, I would have loved it!

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Ink: Chocolate Chip
Water Color Pencils

Our Refuge and Strength/ Build a Blossom

Good Sunday evening to all my friends.  Hope you have had a blessed weekend.

Well I decided to break out the new blossom petal punch and boy am I thrilled with it.  I just love how this card turned out.  Actually with this card I covered three challenges over at Christian Paper Crafts.  I covered the Monday (last Monday) color challenge, The Wednesday Case Artist Challenge and the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge.  I love it when you can do that with one card.

Another unique thing about this card is I used the designer series paper from Christmas called "Deck the Halls."  When I was looking for something to match the color challenge this is just what I needed and I thought you can use this at any time.  And, I love how the card turned out with it.  So when you are creating don't forget to look into the Christmas stash.  Some of them can go with any time frame.

Masculine Birthday

Masculine cards are so hard for me, but when I saw this sketch for our Clean and Simple Challenge today at Christian Paper Crafts, I decided to make this card using the new Build a Cupcake Punch by Stampin' Up!  And since this week at LateNightStamper our challenge theme is "Lets hear it for the boys" I thought I would make it Masculine.  So here it is.

The paper I used is "to the nines"  and the packaged paper is retired, but as soon as I saw it as a Digital Download, you better believe I jumped on it as I have always loved it for masculine cards.  So in one way it is retired, but in another way it is still available!

Here is the inside of the card!

Stamp Set: Create a Cupcake
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler

Fun On Friday - Faux Silk Technique

Hello everyone!  It is again our Fun On Friday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts!  This week is to use the faux silk technique on your project.  The scripture I chose for this weeks challenge is Ezekiel 16:13 "Thus you were adorned with gold and silver, and your dress was of fine linen, silk and embroidered cloth You ate fine flour, honey and oil; so you were exceedingly beautiful and advanced to royalty."

Silk in the Bible is alway referenced with beauty, royalty or gold. So as you start creating this week, think how beautiful you are in the eyes of God and that He has clothed you in beautiful silk. Let those thoughts generate into your card, scrapbook page, whatever you decide and add a touch of "Faux Silk" to your project. Here is a link to a tutorial on how to do the Faux Silk Technique!

When uploading to our galleries at CPC please use keyword FOF93 and when uploading to other online galleries or your blog, please use keyword CPC-FOF93.  And if you would like, please leave me a comment and leave the link to your post.  I would love to see your creation.

Timeless - Masculine Hybrid Card

Wow is it already Tuesday!  What a week already.  Yesterday was definitely a Monday and as you can see I am a little behind on posting my sample for yesterdays challenge at LateNightStampers.  Anyway, this weeks theme is "Let's hear it for the boys."  Actually we are going masculine this week and looking through my stash of stamps, all the sets I had that were masculine were retired, so I decided to go to My Digital Studio which is where I found this Timeless car!  I actually printed it on very vanilla card stock and then cut the image out with the top note die, sponged around the edges, stamped the Happy Birthday on it and then spritzed it with the Silver Foil smooch spritz.

You will never believe that the Designer paper I used is Christmas paper or maybe you will.  It actually came from the Simply Scrappin Christmas Cheer kit.  Stripes to me always go with a man unless maybe if it is pink and feminine.  I also used always artichoke to sponge around the edges and used it as a the background card stock.  So anyway this is my masculine card for this challenge.

All products used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp set: Create a Cupcake (Happy birthday), Timeless (My Digital Studio)
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke
Designer Series Paper: Simply Scrappin Christmas cheer kit

Fun on Friday Challenge/ Windows

Well it is no longer Friday, but I was on a ski trip with our church and did not return until last night and then went to church this morning, so I was unable to post on my blog until today.

This weeks Fun on Friday challenge at Christian Paper Crafts was windows.  The challenge is to put a window in your project. Use your imagination, cut an opening with a view to the inside of a card. Stamp a window picture, or look out your window and share where your creativity takes you.  So I decided to look out of a window and see the beauty.

What I did to make my window was to stamp two images of the stamp from Easter Blossoms in Chocolate Chip Ink on a 3 1/4" X 3 1/4" piece of whisper white card stock.  Also cut a piece of a window sheet 3 1/4" X 3 1/4".  I then sponged the background with the stamped image with bashful blue at the top and the bottom with pear pizzazz.  I took a pretty in pink marker and colored in all the flowers and then took a pear pizzazz market and colored the limbs and the inside of the flowers.  Using the 2 way glue stick I put glue all over the piece of card stock covering image and all.  I then placed the window sheet on top of the image, waited a few minutes for it to dry and then I cut them out in 1" X 1" pieces.  I then adhered those pieces onto the pear pizzaz piece of card stock which was cut 3 3/4" X 3 3/4".  The rest is easy peasy!  Adhered all of this to the pretty in pink card stock cut at 4 X 5 1/4".  Tied the Pear Pizzazz ribbon around this and then adhered to naturals white card stock.  That is it.

The stamp set I used for the sentiment is from the stamp set Happiness shared!  So for all the ingredients again, here is the list:

Stamp Sets: Easter Blossoms, Happiness Shared
Card Stock: Whisper White,  Naturals White, Pear Pizzazz, Pretty in Pink
Classic Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz, Bashful Blue
Markers: Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizzazz
Window Sheet
1/2" stitched poly ribbon pear pizzazz

Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think!

My Friend

Happy Wednesday Night everyone!  Hope you have had a nice first half of the week.  I am leaving tomorrow for a ski trip and unsure of whether I will have iternet service or not, but if so I may post one on Friday.

But for now this card was inspired by Case Artist Wednesday (last week, a week behind) at Christian Paper Crafts.  I love the fact that they have a challenge for everyday, but there are times that I just have to skip some of them.  But so fun to try and keep up.  I love the way Deb had tied her ribbon and I chose to do the ribbon the same way.  Just knotted all the way across and then I used glue dots on each of the knots to adhere the ribbon to the card.  So fun and I actually like the look.

All Stampin' Up! items used:

Stamp Set: Perfect Punches
Card Stock: Pear Pizzazz, Rose Red, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Springtime Vintage
Punch: Curly Label
Ribbon: Rose Red 1/4" grosgrain
vintage flower

Thanks so much for looking and have a great rest of the week!

God's blessings

This is a card I made a couple of weeks ago for the Clean and Simple Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts which was a sketch challenge.  This tells you something when I actually forget to post a card.  I just happened to pull up one of my January folders and I thought, "I don't remember posting that card."  And when I looked I realized I had not, so here it is!

I am loving this paper and I think it is because I am ready for spring.  The weather has been so cold here this winter that I have not had a lot of outside time and I am ready for some outdoors activity.  Would love to get my bicycle out and ride some.  I think I got totally off the subject there, from pretty paper to riding my bike!LOL

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Designer Paper: Spring Time Vintage
Ink: Rose Red

Best Wishes/Wedding Card

Good Monday morning to all my cyber friends!  This is a card I made this weekend to cover a few different challenges and with the wedding season coming up, you can't have too many wedding cards.

The first challenge that inspired this card is the Clean and Simple Saturday challenge at Christian Paper Crafts where you are to use paper piercing on your card.  As you can see I kind of cheated and added a little bit of piercing up under the Best Wishes.  I did like the effect once I was done.

The second challenge is the Monday Color challenge also at Christian Paper Crafts.  The inspiration photo had red and white with a little bit of the look of Sahara sand.  So as you can see, I actually sponged around the embossing part of the card with the Sahara sand to bring it in.

The third challenge is this weeks challenge at LateNightStampers Group.  We were to use at least one heart on our creation this week.  So I think I qualified there with two hearts.  If you use a lot of stampin' up! products, please join us at LateNightStampers Group.  It really does give you a lot of information and also samples galore.

Here is the inside of the card!

Stampin' Up! products used:

Stamp Sets: Punch Potpourri, God's Blessings, Oval All
Card Stock: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
Ink: Riding Hood Red, White Craft, Sahara Sand (for sponging)
White embossing powder
Framed Tulips embossing folder
Extra Large Heart Punch
Vanilla shimmer smooch spritz

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Winds of Grace

Hope everyone is enjoying the Super Bowl.  You can see what I am doing during the game.

I have been trying to clean my craft room for ages and still have not gotten it to the point I need it to be.  Seems as though I am constantly getting side tracked just as I did tonight.  And this is the outcome of my being side tracked.  The Bible Verse Thursday this week at Christian Paper Crafts was themed as Nautical.  Well I was just going to let it pass me by when all of a sudden I was reminded of this stamp set I had, but because it was retired I just had not thought about it.  So cleaning stopped and out came the paper, stamps and ink again.  Oh well now I can go clean up the mess I just made making this card.

Also with the Bible Verse Thursday, you need to add a verse to your work.  So I have attached a picture of the inside also using another retired stamp set by Stampin' Up! called Words of Wisdom!

Stampin' Up Items Used:

Stamp Sets: Winds of Grace, Words of Wisdom (both retired)
Card Stock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Newsprint

Happy Birthday Mom layout #1

This is one of many Layouts I am sure you will see as I move forward in making a memory book for my Mom's 80th birthday.  This is my Mom with two of my grandchildren.  I actually am using the Stretch Your Sketch Scrapbook challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts!  Once a month a card sketch is chosen and you use the card sketch to make a layout.  It is a lot of fun to see what everyone come up with.

For this page, I use My Digital Studio and the new items from the sale-a-bration book.  You get a Digital CD free of all the items that are in the sale-a-bration when you spend $50.  How great is that?  So from the paper which is called Ice Cream Parlor and the ribbon which is also called ice cream parlor I made this page.  The background paper is Daffodil Delight and the tag is whisper white and Pacific Point.  So all was done in the My Digital Studio.

Thanks for looking and hope you all have a wonderful day!

Fun On Friday - Faux Tearing Technique

Well it is Fun On Friday time again at Christian Paper Crafts and this week we have a great technique challenge for you!  Faux Tearing.  I just happened to see this technique at splitcoast stampers and just had to try it.  You can find the technique here!  Great technique and a lot of fun to do.

The verse that inspired this technique was Matthew 27:51, "At that time the thick cloth that hung in the temple was torn into two pieces. It was torn from the top down to the bottom. The earth shook and big rocks broke."  Because of this torn veil we now have access to very throne of God!  Isn't it wonderful that we have a direct line to our Lord!

So today, you do not actually have to tear the card stock.  With the faux tearing technique you get the appearance of torn paper without the tearing. Check out the link above to Splitcoast Stampers and join us for this wonderful challenge!

When uploading to the Christian Paper Crafts gallery, please use the keyword FOF91 and when uploading to other galleries or to your blog please use the CPC-FOF91.  If you play along leave me a comment to the link to your post.  I would love to see it.

Our Refuge And Strength

I am so far behind on my posting and I really need to catch up.  I have quite a few cards that I realized I had not posted.  This is one of them.  This card I made for last weeks Wednesday Case Artist challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.  The card I cased was absolutely beautiful and I feel like I did not even come close.  But, I do love the outcome of this card even though it is a little out of my comfort zone!  As you can see I used quite a bit of perfect plum and did not realize I would like it so much.  Another thing about this card that is definitely out of my comfort zone is the layers.  It has 7 layers!  Wow, I don't think I have ever did a 7 layer card, but this may be a start to something new.

Here is a couple of close ups!

All items used are Stampin' Up! except the Bible verse which is from Sweet N Sassy.  The stamp set is called "Our Refuge".
