Tags/Bird Punch/Beautiful Wings

This past Sunday we finished a Bible study we were doing during our Sunday School hour.  I wanted something special to give the ladies who had been so diligent to be there every Sunday!  So I decided to make these tags.  These are the four main tags and all the tags had the same verse on it as this is the verse I wanted them to remember.  They were really a lot of fun to make and the ladies just loved them.  Made me feel really good that I had made the time to make these tags for my ladies class.

Also I used them for a challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  Last week challenge for Case Artist Wednesday Challenge and I actually used quite a few of the tags Abby had made and incorporated them into these tags.  You can see Abby's Blog here!

Here is a view with 2 tags each:

It's a Zoo out there!

The theme for this weeks challenge at SU Latenightstampers is It's a zoo out there!  And, you are to use an animal on your project whether it be a card, scrapbook page, altered item, as long as you use an animal.  So since I am still in the spring mode, I thought I would add some spring to my card and use the Forest Friends stamp set and the Silhouette Sentiments stamp set.  I also use the Easter Blossoms stamp set for the sentiment on this card.

To make this scene, I actually tore a piece of paper and first of all sponged on the old olive and then afterwards, I sponged the sky with marina mist and a touch of riding hood red.  I then stamped the trees in wild wasabi and with a early espresso marker colored the bottoms in a little, but left some of the green.  Then I stamped our little deer in the middle.  Of course his face looked a little green, so using the white gel pen, I made it white again. (you can actually mask here if you would like before you start sponging)  I then took the small flower from the Silhouette Sentiments and colored it with a marker, the flowers in Riding Hood Red and the stems in the Wild Wasabi.  Once all of this was done, I made the bottom piece and then the sentiment and attached.  So very easy!

All items used are stampin' up!:

Stamp Sets: Silhouette Sentiments, Forest Friends, Easter Blossoms
Card Stock: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive
Ink: Marina Mist, Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, Wild Wasabi
Markers: Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red, Wild Wasabi
Punches: Scallop Oval, Large Oval, Scallop Edge Border
Ribbon: 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon whisper white

Thanks for looking and hope your day is wonderful!

Mr & Mrs/Wedding Card

Good Monday Morning everyone!  Hope you had a great weekend!  Mine was a little busy, but I was still able to work on some cards for this week.

This is one that was inspired by two separate challenges.  The first was the Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge on Saturday.  What a great sketch they had.  The sentiment was suppose to go above the center, but I did not like it there and put it at the bottom.  After I had already adhered it, I wished I would have put it on the inside instead and left the front without it.  But oh well, once you do it there is no way to get it to turn loose of the card stock! lol  But, I still like it.

The second challenge that inspired this card was the Clean and Simple Saturday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.  With this challenge the card was to be monochromatic. So I knew this would fit the challenge.  Just hope it is clean and simple enough.  Also if you want to be a part of this challenge you can go to the Christian Paper Craft Creative blog.  They have a challenge each day of the week.

Stamping Up Items Used:

Laugh Out Loud!/My Digital Studio

Is this just not the cutest picture?  This is my grandson and when he laughs, he shows it all over his face and this is one of those you just have to scrap moments.  I could not let this opportunity pass me by!  When he is 16, he may want to shoot me, but I think he will enjoy it as much as we already have.  The picture was actually taken by our Pastor's daughter who watches him for about 2 hours every morning until his dad gets off work.  He is such a happy baby!

I actually was inspired by a sketch from Christian Paper Crafts challenge called Simple Blueprints and I basically went by the sketch with most of this.  We have 4 scrapbook challenges a month, one for each week.  So please check Christian Paper Crafts out if you haven't!  We have a great community over there.  Also, check out Christian Paper Crafts Creative blog to see what challenges we offer daily!

My Digital Studio was used for this page using the following digital items:

Fun On Friday - Our Nation

Hello I cyber friends!  It is Friday and todays Fun on Friday over at Christian Paper Crafts is from my co-host Robyn Stiffler!  Here is what Robyn had to say:

Isaiah34 tells the nations to come close and listen to the Lord:

1- Come near, you nations, and listen; pay attention, you peoples!  Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, the world, and all that comes out of it!

This week, turn your thoughts to how you are able to support your nation, praying for the political leaders and bringing the national needs for your country before the Lord. In doing so, design a card from your stash to demonstrate your support and send it to a service man/woman. Or perhaps a local representative to your government. Or perhaps your community leaders could use a reminder of where our strength comes from. Encourage them in prayer! Maybe your creation is an piece of altered art to hang in your home as a reminder to pray daily. Or a scrapbook page to remember a trip you took to a recognized place in your country!

So here is what I did for this challenge today!

I actually did a card to send to a military person.  Since my husband is retired USAF and my daughter will marry a military man, USMC, in May, I thought this would be appropriate and will probably send to my SIL to be on Memorial Day.

My card is a hybrid, meaning I did the first layer in My Digital Studio using the digital stamp sets "For all you Do" and "4th of July"!  The paper was Night of Navy and Real Red and the stamps were done by using Whisper White digitally.  I then printed that out and attached to the Whisper White Card Stock and Night of Navy.  So very easy!

Remember if you would like to play along you can go to the Christian Paper Crafts Blog and upload your projects to the Linkzy at the end of the post.  Please make sure that you use keyword CPC-FOF98 in your post.  If you would like to join our Christian Paper Crafts Members Community you can post in the gallery there with the key word FOF98.  Would love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for looking and hope to see some of your wonderful creations for this challenge!

Sweet and Sassy 7

Well it is the 4th Thursday of the month and as you know I host the "Copy That" Scrapbook challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  Here is my post for this challenge!

OK everyone; it is that time again to get some inspiration from the advertisement gurus. The ad attached, I think will capture your attention just as it did mine. Let this advertisement inspire you, whether you are inspired by the sketch design, the colors, or any of the elements or shapes, use the ad to scrap your own layout. Please tell us how you were inspired when you post your layout.

I was inspired by the layout and even thought about going black and white, but decided to use the middle of the ad as my focal with the top as my name for the page. As you can see I did not really follow the bottom which is why it is to inspire you.

Can't wait to see how this advertisement inspires you! Ideas: black and white, one photo in the center instead of all the photos, if you are a journaler then journal on the bottom of your page, etc... Just have fun!

If you would like to play along, please use the keyword CT07 when uploading your layouts to the gallery at Christian Paper Crafts or CPC-CT07 when posting to your blog or another gallery.  Also, if you would like to play along on the CPC Creative Blog, you can post to inlinkz here which is at the end of the post!  You can also leave your link in my comment section.  I would love to see what inspired you from this advertisement.

Because I Care

Already midweek and I am still posting some of the cards I made this past weekend at my crop on Saturday!

This is one that was inspired by the clean and simple Saturday challenge at Christian Paper Crafts where you were to use one embellishment, one sentiment, and one piece of patterned paper!  So in reality I may have went a little over with the additional paper, but I did use one of the specific pieces.

I actually cut out the flower to a certain point and then using the Fiscars cutter, I cut out the rest of the paper.  Also I cut out the oval with the scallop oval die and then cut it and attached to the other oval.  So it was really easy to do.

OK guys, here is my list of Items used:

Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set: Because I care
Card Stock: Whisper White, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink
Designer Series Paper: Nursery Necessities
Extra Large Modern Label Punch
Sizzix scallop oval die

Maker of Heaven and Earth

Wow, is it already March 22nd!  I can hardly believe how fast this month is going by, but I think that is with every month now.  The older you get the faster time flies!

Today we are having our "He is Risen" blog hop over at the Christian Paper Craft Creative blog.  All you have to do is create a card and link it to the bottom of the Hop and you are in there!  There are prizes, so please check it out here!  This is my card for the hop!  Spring always reminds me of new life and new hope and as I was making this card, I thought the maker of heaven and earth is also the reason that we have hope through Jesus Christ.  So please hop on over to our creative blog.  You have until tomorrow night to link up to the blog with your own project.  Can't wait to see what you come up with and you may want to check it out through tomorrow to see what has been added.

This card was inspired by quite a few challenges at our Christian Paper Crafts Member Site.  First of all, it is for the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge which was themed "Heaven and Earth".  Second it was for the color inspiration challenge and you can find the inspiration photo here!  And third it was for the Tuesday Sketch Challenge!  So three challenges in one card!  I love it when it all works out.

The Nicest Things

Well what a wonderful day we had here today!  I sure am blessed and am so thankful!

Don't you just love these little girls!  This reminds me of my granddaughters and that is really what made me get this stamp set, but as I was making this card it also reminded me of me and my sister and how this would make a beautiful mother's day card for her.  We are two years apart and still very close.  So I am sure you will see this stamp again in the near future!

What inspired this specific card was the Case Artist Wednesday challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts. The basic card is just like the card I cased except for the colors, the image and the sentiment.  For mine I wanted to use spring colors since spring is on the way or after the last 5 days here, I would say spring has sprung!

Springtime Vintage

Good Saturday Evening to you all!  I had a stamping crop today and am now just getting around to posting one of the cards I made today!  What inspired this card was the stamping 411 sketch challenge!  It was a little different today and I almost did not do it, but once I finished the card I was happy I did.

It took me a little digging to decide I just wanted to use this paper, Springtime Vintage instead of a stamped image.  More times than not, I think I need a stamped image, but it is not always necessary!  So all I stamped was the sentiment.

Stampin" Up! Items Used:

Stamp Set: Perfect Punches
Card Stock: Rose Red, Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy
Designer Series Paper: Springtime Vintage
Ink: Always Artichoke, Rose Red

FUN ON FRIDAY - Flower Pot Card

Wow, can not believe it is already Friday and again time for me to host the FUN ON FRIDAY at Christian Paper Crafts.

Don't you just love this time of the year when all the flowers are starting to pop up out of the ground and as you see them you just think how miraculous it really is that they know exactly when to come up and the beauty it brings as they open up into this beautiful flower. This verse says it all, "Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." Luke 12:27  Our God knew the beauty that He created and He created them for us to gaze upon and love!

So today's Fun on Friday challenge is to make a Flower Pot Pocket Card or incorporate it into a scrapbook page or alter a project by using it! Here is a tutorial to get you started and and as you work on your project think about the beauty that God created as you make this card or as you incorporate it into your project! Let your imagination soar and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

This is the card with the insert in!

This is the insert pulled out!

SU Workshop tonight!

Well tonight I am doing a workshop and this is the card we will be making!  How pretty is that?  I wish I could say this was my idea, but I actually cased it from Bronwyn Eastley, a demonstrator from Australia who does beautiful work.  When I saw this card, I knew I would be doing it for a workshop.  On mine, I did the masking technique which I will be teaching the girls tonight, along with doing an easel card!  Also Bronwyn has a great tutorial on her blog for this scallop round easel card and you can find it here.

Stamp Set: Easter Blossoms
Card Stock: Early Espresso, Regal Rose, Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso, Regal Rose
Antique Brads, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, scallop oval punch, large oval punch, finial press embossing folder

Now the following cards were made as a set for my hostess!  With these cards, I wanted to show the promotion paper and the promotion stamp set that will be available the month of April and will be in our new catalog on July 1st.  This was all decided on Monday and as you can see it is now Thursday and I had to be quick.  So I went checking out other cards made with this paper and the stamp set.  Are there just times you do not feel the creativity and you have to look else where.  Well let me tell you, that was me and I needed help from my fellow demonstrators out there.  So thanks to the following SU Demonstrators for the layout of the following four cards:  Jessica Brigden, Carla Blake, and Tammy Shaia.  Beautiful work ladies.  I did a few minor adjustments to mine, but by having these ladies to inspire me helped me to quickly get them done and packaged for my hostess tonight.

This is card # 1 & 2!  Don't know why I took these together and the rest separate!

Card # 3!

Card # 4!

I also finished the inside of each card as you see below, but coordinated the outside paper to the inside!

And this is the package the hostess will receive with the four cards and four envelopes inside!

To see more information on this designer series paper and the stamp set called "Four Frames", go to this post!

Well that is enough for today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbook Page

Good Morning!  This is a scrapbook page I did for the Stretch Your Sketch Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts!  We have 4 different options of scrapbooking each week and the stretch your sketch is for week one of the month!  Molly picks out an old card sketch from the Christian Paper Crafts gallery and the challenge is to stretch that sketch into a scrapbook page.  So this is my page for her challenge.  To see the sketch check out this blog post!

For my picture, I chose to use a family picture of my daughter's family!  My grandson was taking his 6 month pictures and they took a family photo at the same time.  And, since we live at the beach they decided to take the picture on the beach.  My poor grandson was freezing by the time they took this picture and they had to put his hat on his head!  But as you can see, he was still a happy camper!

For this layout, I used the Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment!  I would love to hear from you!

Spring Time Vintage - Thinking of You and Sneak Peak!

Good Sunday evening to you all!  It has been a busy weekend for me, but a prosperous one.  I actually worked yesterday morning on my upcoming workshop, then went to a soccer game for my Grand daugther, then back home to finish my workshop and then out to eat with my daughter and her finance.  Then today, I got up early, don't know why, and made this card before getting ready and going to church.  Went shopping this afternoon and found the dress for my daughter's wedding, went out to eat with my hubby and now back home to post this cute card!  After writing all of this I am tired! LOL

What inspired this card was the Christian Paper Crafts Wednesday Case Artist Challenge and also for this week at Late Night Stampers we are to think Easter or Spring!  So two challenges to inspire this wonderful card!  So simple yet elegant!

Now to tell you about the sneak peak I was talking about.  As a demonstrator I was able to order this month a stamp set called Four Frames which will be in our new catalog on July 1st.  Isn't it beautiful!  This is just one of the frames and they all are just beautiful!  I just thought this one went with this paper so well!  And guess what, this stamp set may be available April 1st as a preview for you guys!  How great is that?

The sentiment within the frame is from the stamp set call Silhouette Sentiments and of course fits beautifully inside.

Hello my friends!  Yesterday Sweet N Sassy started their blog hop and of course I am a day late adding on, but this is my "Think Spring" entry into their blog Hop.  I fell in love with this digital stamp the first time I saw it, the John 3:16 Bible Digital Stamp.  I love the lilies and to me they just say spring!  It is also available in the clear set with other stamps that go along with the set.  I used water color pencils for the flowers and then added a little of the rose red using a SU marker.  For the rest of the coloring I used markers.  Be sure and check out the other creations featuring the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for the Think Spring customer blog hop! Thanks to Korin for sponsoring this blog hop! She is giving away a digi to all the participants and one random person (picked from all the comments) will win a gift certificate for $25 to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!!

Thinking of you/One inch at a time

Well it is Friday Morning again and this week my co-host Robyn is hosting the Fun On Friday at Christian Paper Crafts.  To see her wonderful post, please go to our CPC Blog.  Her message is a great message for all of us!

Today's challenge is to use inchies!  Here is how Robyn explained it!

This week for Fun on Friday, inchies are the goal. As a reminder that everyday task set before us can be tackled one inch at a time. Inchies can be tiny works of art in themselves or a piece of a bigger picture'. So be a part of the bigger picture and inch your way forward to further the Kingdom! We encourage you to take part in the challenges and hope we inspire you to stretch a little. No challenge police, no time limits. Just move along one inch at a time! Add the keyword FOF96 when posting to the Christian Paper Crafts gallery, and add the keyword CPC-FOF96 for uploading elsewhere.

So here is my sample for this weeks Fun On Friday challenge!

Each square is cut to one inch and doesn't it make such a beautiful card!  Hope you enjoy our challenge this week and if you decide to make a card, please let me know and leave a link in the comment section so I can check it out.

Easter Blossoms

Good Morning my Friends!  Don't you just love this Silhouette of this beautiful little girl!  Well this card is for our Sneak Peak "He is Risen" Gallery that will be opening up on March 15th over at Christian Paper Crafts.  The gallery is available for the Super Sisters and the King's Daughters and boy is there some beautiful things in that gallery!  I am amazed at the talent in that place.

For my card, I decided to use the Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! called Lap of Luxury!  I can tell you it is luxury.  I just love it.  It goes with the Concord Crush in color and is just beautiful!  I layered the Pretty in Pink, the concord crush and then the Designer Paper and wrapped it with a Pretty in Pink 5/8" satin ribbon.  I then stamped the image onto Whisper White card stock along with the sentiment, stamped on Pretty in Pink card stock, which both come from the stamp set Easter Blossoms.  Sponged around the image and then layered it onto pretty in pink and concord crush card stock.  The sentiment I punched out with the wide oval punch and then punched out two pieces of concord crush with the large scallop oval punch and adhered those to the back of the pretty in pink wide oval to make a border.  Using dimensionals I adhered both of these to the front of the card to give them the pop up effect.  Such an easy card, but so elegant.  Hope you like it.

Light of the World

Wow, what a busy few days I have had.  I made this card for the Clean and Simple Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts and am just now getting around to posting it here.  You would think that was the first thing I would do.  The challenge was to make your own background.  So using the Cottage Garden Stamp set, I made the background of this card.  The colors I decided to use were rose red, perfect plum and marina mist.  By choosing these colors, once I decided I wanted to use ribbon, I did not have any with a color I wanted.  So I decided to color my ribbon also by using a sponge dauber and the perfect plum ink pad.  How great is that.  Now I know what to do when I can't find a ribbon color I would like to use.  Take the whisper white and color it with a sponge dauber and ink!

My challenge on Friday for "Fun On Friday" at Christian Paper Crafts was to do a gatefold card!  Well I enjoyed it so much, that I thought I would make another one for a card/gift holder for a friend of mine who was having a birthday party Saturday!  Actually there were five of us who went in together.  I was really pleased with the outcome of this card.

To cover our Monday challenge at LateNightStampers, I made sure that I added the green.  The challenge is to add a bit of green to the project.  I can say that I added the green.  Anyway to move on, I took a couple of other pictures.

Now for the inside of the card!  I made the center plain so that we all could add a comment and sign since there were five of us.

Fun On Friday Challenge - CPC-FOF95

Good Friday morning everyone!  It is my turn to host the Fun on Friday challenge at Christian Paper Crafts!  Here is my write up for this weeks Fun On Friday.

As I was thinking about doing a Gate Fold Card, I thought about the gates of heaven and how one day I would be able to enter those pearly gates and then this scripture came to me. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. Revelation 22:13-14  How wonderful and beautiful it will be to walk through those gates.

So get busy this week and make a Gate Fold Card and as you create this card, think about how blessed we are as Christians to one day be able to enter through the gates of heaven.

If you have never made a Gate Fold Card, here is a Tutorial for the Gate Fold Card! There are other ways of doing Gate Fold Cards, so just let your imagination soar!
Here is my sample for this weeks challenge.

For my sample, I used the baja breeze card stock and the elegant soiree designer series paper.  The flowers are the whisper white paper flowers and using a sponge dauber, I sponged them with baja breeze classic ink.  Once I put the card all together, I spritzed it with the vanilla shimmer smooch spritz and add the basic pearls.

Now for a view of the sponged flowers close up.

And, the inside of the card!

Now it is your turn, and I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Also if you are a scrapbooker, incorporate this into your scrapbook page as a place to write a note or something about the page you have just created.

When uploading to our galleries at Christian Paper Crafts, please use keyword FOF95 and when uploading to other online galleries or your blog, please use keyword CPC-FOF95.

Also, if you would like to link your creation for us to see, you can go to the CPC Blog link here and add your sample to the Mr. Linkzy!

Upsy Daisy/Thinking of You!

I was so excited with the turn out of this card!  Actually what inspired it was the Wednesday Case Artist challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  To read more about it and to be able to participate in this challenge, please see their blog post here

With this card, I cut the oval out first from the rich razzleberry and then cut the stamped image out from a larger oval.  I ran the rich razzleberry through the big shot using the finial press embossing folder.  I adhered the stamped image oval to the melon mambo card stock making sure to center it, and then adhered the rich razzleberry to the melon mambo.  I then adhered all of this to the Whisper White base - added the pearls and then spritzed it with vanilla shimmer smooch spritz.  How great is that and very easy!  The melon mambo was cut at 4 X 5 1/4 and the rich razzleberry at 3 3/4 X 5 and adhered to a normal A2 size card.

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp Sets:  Upsy Daisy, Silhouette Sentiments (SU Hostess)
Card Stock: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry
Classic Ink: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Finial Press Embossing Folder
Pearls
Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!

Lead me in thy Truths

Hope you all had a wonderful Monday and am now getting ready for a great Tuesday!  Isn't this the cutest card!  It was for the Bible Verse Thursday at Christian Paper Crafts.  To find out more about it and to link a project if you would like, you can go to the Christian paper Crafts blog and read more about.

Any way, I am so happy to be pulling out my bird punch again and looking more at Spring items.  I do love spring and this bird punch just really reminds me of spring.  I actually used some retired designer series paper called cottage wall and hated seeing that paper retire from SU.

Stampin' Up! items used:

Card Stock: Orchid Opulence, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Cottage Wall
Embossing folder: Framed Tulips
Punch: Extra Large Bird Punch

Stamp Set is by Sweet and Sassy called "Wait on the Lord"

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!
