Fun On Friday - Birds of the Air

Welcome everyone to this weeks Fun on Friday!  It is my turn to post the Fun on Friday at Christian Paper Crafts and this is my post for this week!

Then God said, "Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens." God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was good. Gen. 1:21
God is the creator of all things and one of the beautiful creations that I love is the bird. They come in all shapes, sizes and colors. God knew the beauty of His creation and He gave it to us to enjoy.

So somewhere on your project today, wheather it is a card, a scrapbook page, an altered item, whatever it may be, I want to see a bird!

This is my sample for this weeks challenge.  I also combined it with the sketch challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.

Also here is a close up of the scripture and bird!

When uploading to the Christian Paper Crafts gallery use the keyword FOF103 and if loading on another sight, CPC-FOF103. Can't wait to see what you come up with! Whatever it is, I know it will show the beauty our Lord created!

Please let me know if you created something using this challenge.  You can leave me a comment in the remarks with a link or you can link it to the post for Fun On Friday at our Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.

Copy That Scrapbook Challenge

This is the Copy That Challenge for Christian Paper Crafts today that I host.  This is my write up!

What time is it? It is time again to get some inspiration from the advertisement gurus. The ad attached, I think will capture your attention just as it did mine. Let this advertisement inspire you, whether you are inspired by the sketch design, the colors, or any of the elements or shapes, use the ad to scrap your own layout. Please tell us how you were inspired when you post your layout.

This is my sample for this challenge!

I was inspired by the layout and the fact that I could give a focal point to a main photo and then add with smaller photos. I was wanting to do a scrapbook page on my Mother-in-law and when I saw this ad, I knew it was the one to detail her life. As you can see I did not really follow every detail of the ad, but made it my own; which is why it is to inspire you.

Can't wait to see how this advertisement inspires you! I would love to see you join us at Christian Paper Crafts.  It is all about enjoying what you do, so get that paper out, or get your computer out for the digital page and Just have fun!

Please use the keyword CT08 when uploading your layouts to the gallery at Christian paper Crafts or CPC-CT08 when posting to your blog or another gallery.  You can also post your creation after the post at Christian paper Crafts Creative blog this afternoon.  Or if you would like, leave a comment with a link to your creations and I will be glad to take a look at what you have done.

Fun On Friday and CPC Creative Blog Hop

Well good Friday Morning to you all!  As you all know this is good Friday and this week we are showing the depth of love Christ has for us!  It is actually Robyn's week to post the Fun on Friday challenge at Christian Paper Crafts and I was excited when I saw her challenge.  How great to use layers to show the love our Lord has for us.  Also  today is Christian Paper Crafts Monthly blog hop and this card is also being used for the hop.  You can also join in the blog hop by going to CPC Creative Blog
So what I did was to use 3 layers for the base and then for the sentiment, I added 4 layers.  So in all I have a total of 7 layers to this card front.

Now to the inside I added even more layers.

There is a total of 3 layers on each side of the inside.  So I think I really aced this challenge with a total of 13 layers. LOL  Wanted to make sure I qualified!

If you would like to play along this week just leave comment with the link to your post.  I would love to see what you come up with.

When uploading to our gallery at Christian Paper Crafts please use keyword FOF102 and when uploading to other online galleries or your blog, please use keyword CPC-FOF102.  Along with Robyn, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

This card was also inspired by Wednesdays Case Artist Challenge and Thursdays Bible Verse Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  You can also read about them on the CPC Creative blog!

Blossom Bouquet Punch Sneak Peak

Good Morning my faithful followers!  Hope you all are getting ready for a great weekend celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior!  I know I will be celebrating that along with the dedication of my Nephews (twins) on Sunday!  That will be a great blessing.

So, now on to the sneak peak!  The blossoms you see at the top of this card will be in our Summer Mini that is available on May 1st.  It is a Triple Layer Punch and I tell you, it is wonderful.  On this card, I used all three layers of the punch.  What actually inspired this card was the Saturday Clean and Simple Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  The challenge this past week was a sketch.  You can see the sketch here!  Also this was the card that I sent to my sister for singing at my mother-in-laws funeral last week.  That was so sweet of her to do and I am very thankful for her.

Here is a close up of the punched flowers!

Also for this month only we are offering the Four Frames stamp set that will be in the new catalog for stampin' up! on July 1st.  here is a close up of one of the frames.

And as I have been so good about keeping one of the goals I set for the New Year, here is the inside of my card!

Uncharted Territory

I just love the outcome of this card!  Lately I have not felt much like crafting, but last night I just decided I needed to do something and this is what came.  It was inspired by this weeks Stamping 411 Sketch.  I had not used this stamp set and when I saw the sketch, I thought it would be a great stamp set for it and I think I was right.  Also, I had not tried the mother of pearl technique using the shimmer paint and it worked out great with it also.  Don't you just love it when a card comes together as you had envisioned it.  Thanks Stamping 411 for inspiring me with your wonderful sketch for the week.
Here is a close up of how the shimmer paint along with the sponging looks.  And, also a close up of the new Baker's Twine that will be available on May 1st.  I think I am going to like this twine.  So easy to work with and adds just the right touch.  I will look for the tutorial that I saw for this technique and try to link it later today.  Found it and you can see it here!
And as always, I finished the inside of the card by using the other stamp that comes with this set.  I actually stamped it on the grid paper prior to stamping it on the inside to lighten it up so it would be more like a background once I write the message.  I just love doing that.
All items used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set: Uncharted Territory
Card Stock: Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla
Classic Ink: Marina Mist, Night of Navy
Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint

Baker's Twine Cherry Cobbler

Thanks so much for dropping by and please let me know what you think!  May you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

hello baby

Well I guess I am about to get my Mojo back.  Still am not doing what I would like to be doing, but that is OK.  This card is for this weeks Tuesday Sketch challenge at Christian Paper Crafts and also for this weeks challenge to make a Baby Card, scrapbook page or other item related to baby at SU LateNightStampers.  As you can see, I chose to do a card.  I really do like this paper which is Nursery Suite Specialty Paper.  It works so well for a baby card!

I also decorated the inside of the card!  That was one of my New Years resolutions and so far I have done the inside of each card I have made.  I think that is pretty good!

Stamp Set: A Slice of Life, Curvy Verses, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock: Early Espresso, Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Designer Series Paper: Nursery Suite Specialty Paper
Classic Ink: Early Espresso

Sneak Peak for Gallery Opening at CPC

Good afternoon everyone!  This was suppose to be my sneak peak last week for the gallery opening at Christian  Paper Crafts.  This months theme for our Design Team Delights was Mother's Day and Friendship.  But since I was out of town due to a death in the family I was unable to post, so I thought I would post today.  It was also going to be my workshop sample for this month and I also had to cancel that.  But, I thought since I had a few moments I would go ahead and post it so you guys would be able to see what I created using the Paisley Petals Designer Series paper and also using the Four Frames Stamp Set which is a sneak peak into what Stampin' Up! will be caring in their new catalog coming out July 1st.  To learn more about this promotion, please check it out here! These two items are available until April 30th.

Here are a couple of close ups of this wonderful Tri-Shutter-Card!

You can see one of the four frames here with the bird on it.  How cute is that?

And here you can see more of the middle of the card.  I just love this design.

Anyway, to see more of what our gallery at Christian Paper Crafts have to offer check out the site here.

Also if you are interested in this set, you can place your order by going here!

Thank You!

Hello everyone!  So sorry for my absence the last week!  Last Sunday while my husband and I were sitting in church we received a call from his brother that we needed to come home now and that Russ' mom was not doing good at all.  It is close to a 2 hour drive.  That was around 11:45 and needless to say we did not make it in time.  My mother-in-law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 4 weeks ago this past Tuesday.  We are thankful that God chose to take her and that her suffering was not long, but we definitely were not prepared for the loss!

In saying all of this, I will be making quite a few "thank you" cards during the next few days!  People were really so helpful and even made the 2 hour drive for the visitation and the funeral.

So I thought I would share with you the first thank you card that I have made which was for our church family!

This card was inspired by the case artist challenge this week at Christian Paper Crafts.  I need all the inspiration I can get to get as many cards made as possible.  I also used the new paper, called paisley prints, that is available this month only and is a sneak peak of what will be in the new Stampin' Up! catalog July 1st.  Also the image I used here is also a sneak peak and it is in the stamp set called "Four Frames" and both will be available through the end of April.  Absolutely beautiful paper and love the four frames.  The punch that goes with this set is called the "decorative label punch."

Here is a close up of the butterflies and frame!

Items used  for this card are all Stampin' Up!

Because I Care!

It seems I have been using this stamp set a lot lately!  I just love it because it is so easy and no coloring!  You just stamp it and it is done.

I actually put this card together yesterday morning prior to going out of town for the day to visit our family.  It was inspired by the Clean and Simple Saturday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.  The only embellishment you could use was ribbon.  So I wanted to do a fancy ribbon embellishment, but I could not find the paper for the ribbon I wanted to use and I saw this paper and decided to use my chocolate chip paper and ribbon and I think it came out great.  A very easy card to do!

Here is the inside of the card which qualified me for the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  By the way, you can see all of their challenges each day by visiting the Christian paper Crafts creative blog!  You can even link your project!

Fun On Friday Challenge - CPCFOF100

I have updated this post with my sample!  Please see below.

Good morning my faithful followers!  I am so sorry that I do not have my fun on friday challenge posted as of yet.  This is Robyn's week, my co-host for Fun On Friday at Christian Paper Crafts, and I have a sample ready, but left it at home on my home computer.  I have a really bad cold right now and am not thinking straight.  So without further ado, here is Robyn's post for this challenge!

Genesis 17 Abraham fell face down; he laughed and said to himself, “Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?”

This verse has a deep meaning to me. Like Sarah, I was not a young Mom. I had prayed for another child. My Samuel Paul has a name to live up to! My youngest son will celebrate his birthday on Sunday the tenth of April. He was given to us on a Friday, before Easter! It is GOOD FRIDAY indeed for our home. He has been a delight each and every day of his life.

Today's challenge is to look at the number 100, and be inspired to create for someone special in your life. Perhaps scrap a page about the 100 things I love most about you! Maybe a heritage page for your children, 100 things I want you to know about me, or things I want you to remember. Or a card that begins to list all the important characteristic and little things that are important! WHOA! You say? Ok, so maybe 100 is too many, try dividing it by 10 (my ds's birthdate)!

Praising God for the hundreds of blessings I have received since coming to Christian Paper Crafts! Blessings reign down upon each of you as you reflect on your own 100 thoughts today!

Here is the Card that Robyn made for her son!  She said she added items that show a little of what he is today.  Also the embossing folder she used helps to add to the 100 things of how thankful she is for her dear son.  See you really don't have to have a list of things, just show the blessings in what you create!

Robyn's Sample

Here is my sample:  The reason for this sample is we just found out a couple of weeks ago that my husband's mother has terminal cancer.  So the first thing I thought of when I saw this challenge was: 100 reasons to celebrate family events even if you might not want to.  So now you have an idea of what we are looking for.

Remember when you upload to the gallery at Christian Paper Crafts, use the key word FOF100. If uploading to another gallery use the keywords CPCFOF100.

Also I am adding a prize to this Fun On Friday this week!  If you would like to join in by adding a card, scrapbook page or any project and link it to CPC's creative blog and leave me a comment here, I will be giving away some neat items for our FOF100.

Hope to see a lot of wonderful projects this weeks.  I will be linking my project up later.

Blessings to all!

Eat Chocolate

I just loved this finished product!  This was one of the first stamp sets I purchased out of the occasional mini which ends April 30th, and it is the first time I have used it.  I don't know why it took me so long because as I said I love this set!

What inspired this card is the Wednesday Case Artist Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.  Our case artist this weeks screen name is Bornagain but her real name is Gwen Nelson!  What a wonderful gallery she has and it was a great honor to be able to case her work.

For this card, I started out with a base color of Chocolate chip cut to A2 size.  I then cut a piece of Pretty in Pink card stock 4 X 5 1/4.  The whisper white was cut at 3 3/4 X 5 and then ran through the big shop using the Elegant Lines embossing folder.  I adhered the whisper white to the pink and cut a piece of chocolate chip satin ribbon and adhered around the pink and white.  I then made the bow and sit to the side.  I adhered the pink and White to the base of the card, attached the bow with a glue dot.  I then stamped the two images from the Eat Chocolate stamp set on to Whisper White card stock.  It is actually one image, but I separated them by using the chocolate chip marker.  Using the Spellbinders label # 5 die, I put it over the image and ran through the big shot, then ran the larger die through with pretty in pink and adhered those together.  I adhered them to the white by using the stampin' dimensionals.  Using the large oval punch I punched out the sentiment and then using the scallop oval punch I punched out a pretty in pink, adhered those two together and attached with a stampin' dimensional.

So now you can do the same.  Very easy card to do, but very elegant.

Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

God's Blessings

I love it when a card comes together and when you are finished with it you think "wow"!  I love those wow moments don't you?  Anyway this paper has become one of my favorites.  I just love the fact that the more you use it, the more it grows on you! LOL

This card and the paper I used was actually inspired by this weeks inspirational color challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  You can see the inspirational photo here at the Christian Paper Crafts Creative blog.

Also I used the Tuesday Sketch challenge today from Christian Paper Crafts.  You can also see the sketch on the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.

For both of these you can join in the challenges by linking your card to each posting on the blog.

Mother's Day Gift Set

Good Monday morning my friends.  Hope you are all having a wonderful start to a beautiful week!

This weekend, I did a lot of cleaning, but I was able to get a couple of things done in my craft room and this is one of them.  This is a set that I created using the Because I Care hostess stamp set.  I just love this set and it is so versatile!  As you can see, I stamped both images on the card and the candle pretty much the same to make them a pair.  I still would like to do a gift bag and hopefully will get to it soon.  When I do, if I do, I will link to this!  This is for this weeks challenge for SU LateNightStampers where we are to make something for Mom's.  If you are not a member of LateNightStampers and use a lot of Stampin' Up! products, please join us.  There is a lot of great inspiration for you!

This is a single picture of the candle!  And, if you would like to learn how to stamp on a candle, here is a great tutorial!

Fun On Friday - Punch Art

Good Morning everyone!  This is my week to host the Fun On Friday over at Christian Paper Crafts!  This is one of my favorite things to do is punch art.  So without further ado, here is my post from CPC's Fun On Friday!

He has filled them with skill to perform every work of an engraver and of a designer and of an embroiderer, in blue and in purple and in scarlet material, and in fine linen, and of a weaver, as performers of every work and makers of designs. Exodus 35:35

So today's Fun on Friday challenge is to pull out those punches and show us what you can do with them from designing flowers, designing cute animals, to what ever your imagination comes up with! Incorporate them into a scrapbook page or alter a project by using them. God has given each one of us a talent for paper crafting so let your imagination soar and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Here is my design and I learned how to make this flower from Jackie Topa.  I saw a card she had done and cased it, but did leave off some other punching she had done.  Thanks Jackie for the wonderful inspiration.

When uploading to our gallery at Christian Paper Crafts please use keyword FOF99 and when uploading to other online galleries or your blog, please use keyword CPC-FOF99.  Also, you can play along by linking your post to our CPC Creative Blog.
