Copy That Challenge

Today over at Christian Paper Crafts, I am hosting the Copy That Scrapbook Challenge today.  So here is my post there today!

For if He were on earth, He should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests who offer gifts according to the law, and who serve unto the copy and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished by God when he was about to make the tabernacle. For,"See," saith He, "that thou make all things according to the pattern shown to thee on the mount." But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the Mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. Hebrews 8:4-6

OK everyone it is time for our "Copy That" Scrapbook challenge which is now the 5th Friday of the months that have 5 Fridays! That was a mouth full!

This is a Scrapbook challenge where we again will get some inspiration from the advertisement gurus. The ad attached, captured my attention and I hope it will capture yours. So, let this advertisement inspire you, whether you are inspired by the sketch design, the colors, or any of the elements or shapes, use the ad to scrap your own layout. Please tell us how you were inspired when you post your layout.  Here is the ad!

I was inspired by the look of the layout which reminded me of a two page layout with the first page being the main focus and the second page adding a little more detail of the first. When I finished, I was not certain the two pages looked like the ad, but that was what inspired this wonderful double layout of my Dad's 80th Birthday!

Here they are separated!

So now I can't wait to see how you use this advertisement in a layout of your own. It is all about enjoying what you do, so get that paper out, or get your computer out for the digital page and have some fun! You will be glad you did!

Please use the keyword CT12 (no commas) when uploading your layouts to the gallery at Christian Paper Crafts or CPC-CT12 when posting to another gallery.  You can also link your layout to our CPC Creative Blog here!

Pages were made using Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio!

Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Christmas Lodge

Here is another card that I made a set of for my Christmas Bazaare coming up in 4 weeks.  I thought I had already put it on here, but in looking back it is not here.

Don't you just love this new stamp set from the "holiday mini catalog."  It is just what you dream of when you think of Christmas.  Again, I am trying to use up all of my retired designer paper and this one of those and again it was no longer in a pack so I don't remember the name of it.  It was from last Christmas and so I did use the Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White card stock, and Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler classic ink.  The ribbon is new and is in the "holiday mini catalog" also, 3/8" quilted satin ribbon in cherry cobbler.

Here is a close up of the sentiment!

And a close up of the stamped lodge!

Thanks for looking today and hope your day is bright and cheery!

Christmas Box!

Is this not the cutest box every and wait to you see what it holds.  Last weekend when I had a crop, I took a lot of my retired papers to make some things for the bazaare we are having at our church on November 5th, and this is one of the items that I did that Saturday.  I actually got all of my instructions from Create with Connie and Mary Blog!  And the instructions were so easy to follow!  Connie called it the Trio of Treats Tote.  And that is definitely what it is.  You can find the instructions here!

Here is the inside of it!

And a picture of the 3 different candy holders, which I have not filled yet!  But you can put mints or chocolate or any type of hard candy in them.

As you can see these are the containers that come with buttons, brads and other items in them and now we have a way of recycling them.  How great is that!

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Set: Christmas Lodge
Card Stock: Old Olive, Real Red, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: retired
Accessories: Large Scallop Round Punch, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon

Thanks for looking and hope you like it!

Blessings from Heaven

Welcome to our monthly blog hop over at Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog! Our theme this month corresponds with our Design Team Delights gallery theme “Fabulous Fall” which opened at Christian Paper Crafts on August 15th.  It’s full of stunning projects!  The verse that really describes this blog hop is: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

Each month we offer several prizes for blog hop participants and for members of Christian Paper Crafts, that includes a crafty prize generously donated by a fabulous company. To see the details and the prize, please hop on over to our blog for more details!

Now for my entry!  I created this card by creating the second layer using my digital studio and the French Foliage stamp brush set.  I then printed it out and cut it to layer on the card.  That is one reason I really like My Digital Studio!  So here is my card!

The leaves are from the Leaves # 2 Die and then ran through the big shot using the Swirls embossing folder.  Just gives the cut out leaves a little texture.

Here is a side view of the card!

And a close up!

So now it is your turn to join our blog hop today!  It is for ever who would like to participate and all you have to do is go to the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog and add your project for this fall themed blog hop.  Hope to see you there!

Craft Show card set

I have been working every chance I get to make sets of cards for the craft show on November 5th.  I don't seem to be getting enough done, but what I have will have to do.

This is a set of 4 all occasion cards that I did this weekend at our stamp crop.  These are the first two of the 4 and for all of them, I used a sketch from Got Sketch which I actually started following for the scrapbook sketches, which they still have also.  You can find the sketch I used for this card set here!

Instead of putting paper, I actually did the technique of using one of my clear blocks, inking it up and then stamping it onto the paper.  I love the look of it and you don't have to use the paper.

Here are the other two that will be going into the same package.

For some reason I could not seem to get the photo straight, but at least you can tell what I used!  That is a good thing!

For all of my cards that are going in the craft show, I am using retired DSP and some of the paper may be retired also.  But I can say that I am getting rid of some paper.

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp sets: Field Flowers, Vintage Vogue, Swirls & Curls Verses (retired hostess), Ain't Love Grand (hostess)
Card Stock: Kiwi Kiss (retired), Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Rose Red
Designer Series Paper: Retired (can't remember the name)
Accessories: 5 Petal Punch, Designer Buttons, Scallop Trim Border Punch

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful rest of this day!

Stamping 411 sketch meets Nursery Nest

Hello all!  Seems like this weekend has just flown by, but I have stayed really busy and I guess that is why.  I had a stamping crop on Saturday where we all got together and just did our own thing and I actually got a lot accomplished.  But the one think I did not do was the challenge I need for this weeks LateNightStampers group and so I decided to use the Stamping 411 sketch challenge to get it done.  The challenge for the LateNightStampers group is to do a baby project!  So with the help of Stamping 411 here is my card!

I just love the Nursery Nest Designer Series Paper and when I saw the sketch, I knew some way that I was going to incorporate this cute little bootie into it by using the new Christmas Stocking Builder punch.  How great is that.  Now I know I will be able to use this punch year round.

Here is another view of the card!

And, a close up!

All items used are from Stampin' Up!
Stamp Set: God's Blessings
Card Stock: Whisper White, Perfect Plum, Blushing Bride
Designer Series Paper: Nursery Nest
Accessories: Stocking builder punch, corner rounder punch, white bakers twine, perfect polka dots embossing folder

Thanks so much for looking and hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!

Monthly Workshop!

How pretty is this card!  You have seen it before as this was my preview to our Fabulous Fall Gallery at Christian Paper Crafts!  To see more about this card you can go to this post

We will also be making a nugget treat holder which, can you believe, I forgot to take a picture of with everything else that is going on.  I did not realize it until I started looking for the photos and no photo of the treat holder.  But be assured, I will have one after the workshop tonight and will add at that time.  So keep checking back!

No more checking back, here it is!

I made this by using the big shot top note and the Paisley Petals desinger paper.  I just love that paper.  I also cut the inside white at 3X4 and rounded the corners.

Here is another photo!

As you can see three nuggets fit on the inside and then you close it up by using the belly band we made.  To make this here is a video I followed!

And, yet another photo!

Now on to the hostess gift I made for my wonderful hostess tonight.  This was a lot of fun since I am making some journals for my craft show and of course the others will not be this decorated.  But I was in the mood to really work on this one and I think it turned out great.

How cute is this journal.  I used a few different dies (swirls scribbles and blossom party), made some of the spiral roses and some retired DSP (lap of luxury) to make this awesome journal.  The stamp set I used was Word Play.  Love that stamp set!  Punches used are the 1 1/4" round punch (spiral flowers) and the dotted scallop ribbon border punch.
Here is a close up!

Happy Birthday to my Strong Man!

Today is my dear husband's birthday.  So I quickly put this card together last night and used the sketch from Stamping 411 from last week. Nothing like waiting till the last minuite is there!

As soon as I saw this little strong man on the Designer Series Paper Big Top Birthday I knew I had to use him and also had to computer generate the sentiment.  So here is what I came up with!

So what do you think?  Do you think my husband will like it?  I think he will get a kick out of it.

Here is a side view!

All items used are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted!

Dad's 80th Birthday!

We had a birthday party for my dad this year.  As most of you know my Dad has Alzheimer's and that is one tough disease to deal with, but God gives us all the strength to do what we need and he has definitely given me strength.  Most of the time when you handed him a card he would look at it and then we would open it for him to read.  I really think he enjoyed himself as there were times he laughed and then there were times he cried.  But all in all it was a good day and thank God that he is doing as well as he is.

For this page I used My Digital Studio (MDS) and I do love MDS.  You can do your own layout or choose a layout from ones you have purchased.  For this one I decided to see what I had in the 12 X 12 templates and the one I really liked was one called "To the Nines."  It just seemed to match the theme I had in mind for the page.  I did change it up a little.  The template had two photos and I made one photo.  So of course you can change it all you want to.  I also changed the title.  Love MDS!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope your Tuesday is wonderful!

Studio Sketches/Stamping 411

Good Monday Morning everyone!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Today I am sharing a card using the stamp set Studio Sketches.  I love the stamp set, but have not used it since last year about this time.  And, what inspired me to use it this time was the sketch over at Stamping 411.  It is a great sketch as always!  And, then what inspired the color theme of this card was our SULateNightStampers challenge for this week which was to use any of the in colors.  So I used three of them, Calypso Coral - Wisteria Wonder - Lucky Limeade.  So glad I had the Berry Blossoms designer paper on hand.  It kind of helped me narrow my choices down.

Here is a side view of the card!

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set: Studio Sketches, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock: Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
Classic Ink: Chocolate Chip for the sentiment
Accessories:  3/8" Lucky Lime ruffled ribbon, 2011-12 In Color designer printed brads, 1 1/4" round circle punch, 1 3/8" round circle punch

Fabulous Fall Gracious Glimpse

Time again to begin our Gracious Glimpses for the upcoming Design Team Delights (DTD) gallery opening at Christian Paper Crafts! Each day leading up to the gallery opening on the 15th you will be able to see new samples on the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog, just to give you a glimpse at what you’ll see inside the gallery when it is opened.  None of the projects that are posted in the DTD gallery will be shown anywhere else so if you are not a member of Christian Paper Crafts, please check it out.

I am up first with my gracious glimpse and always on the 10th of the month you will see a gracious glimpse from me for that months theme.  Since this months theme is Fabulous Fall, I decided to use this wonderful stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Cherish Friendship.

For this card, I used a couple of techniques. It is only a two layer card, but the tangerine tango card stock is embossed at the top using the new SU stripe embossing folder and on the bottom of the card stock, I used the direct to paper technique to make a design on the bottom. That is where you use your actual ink pad and slide it down the card itself. I just love it as it looks as though the card has texture and there are times you get a wood look background. I also used my water color pencils here to do the chair to give it more of a stained effect. The flowers are colored using markers.  To separate the two different techniques on the tangerine tango card stock I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.

And, just FYI, if you are part of my stamping group you will be seeing this card again.

Here is a close up of the arrangement and the technique.

Items used are Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Cherish Friendship
Card Stock: Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Ticket punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Textured Stripe Embossing Folder, Water Color Pencils, Markers
Technique: Direct to Paper, dry embossing

Thanks for looking and don't forget to check out the Christian Paper Crafts Creative blog today as I was not the only one with a glimpse into the gallery!

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Land of the Free

Good Friday Morning everyone!  This has been one of those busy weeks.  My Son-in-law left for Afghanistan on Monday and then things scheduled every night.  Wow, I was wondering if I would even get to this competition to be able to make this card.

The challenge this week at SULateNightStampers is to Remember 911.  I don't know why I do not have a lot of patriotic stamps, but I don't.  I did have Land of the Free in My Digital Studio, os I just placed it on Night of Navy Card Stock, printed it out and then using a Spellbinders Nestabilities I cut it out with my Big Shot.  The one think about digital is you can make the image the size you would like it.  Am not sure if the card is too busy or not, but I do plan on sending to my son-in-law.

And, to add another challenge to this from Christian Paper Crafts, I put a verse on the inside.

But they that wait upon the LORD
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Yesterday's Bible Verse Thursday was to make a project using this scripture or another scripture that follows the theme strength.  Well when I saw this verse, it is the one I wanted to use, so at the same time I was doing the digital image from MDS, I also did this verse for the inside.  You can also link your project to Christian Paper Crafts Creative blog if you would like to join in on the fun.

Items used are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

Stamp: The Land of the Free (digital)
Card Stock: Night of Navy, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Big Top Birthday
Ink: digital whisper white
Embellishments: Build a brad (used the same DSP), Spellbinder Nestabilities labels 5

Thanks for looking and hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

Joy At Christmas

Well I am well on my way to getting my Christmas card stamp-a-stacks ready and this one may be part of it.  I will have to see how many more I can come up with using this stamp set.

Actually the inspiration for the following card came from the Stamping 411 sketch this week.  I do love their sketches and try to play along every week, but there are times that I miss out.  So here is the card I made using their sketch!

As soon as I saw this stamp set in the holiday mini, I knew I had to have it.  And, this is the first time I have used it and this sketch was perfect for it.  I love the light in this view.

Here is another view where the light is not quite as bright.

I like both of them, but can't quite figure out the one I like the best which is why I posted both of them.

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Sets: The Sounding Joy, Perfect Punches
Card Stock: Whisper White, Night of Navy
Classic Ink: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy
Accessories: Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Brayer, 1 3/4 Scallop Circle Punch

Merry Christmas in September

Well as most of my faithful followers know by now, I am working on some cards and other things for an upcoming bazaar/craft show on November 5th at our church.  Plus I am getting ready for my first Stamp-A-Stack in October.  So I am trying to get some cards designed for both.  Here is one I will be doing at my stamp-a-stack.

With this card I used the new textured impressions embossing folder, snow burst, from the holiday mini.  I spritzed the card stock with the frost white shimmer paint solution prior to embossing it which gave it a deeper impression and also a shimmery effect.

Here is a close up!

Also for the snow flake, I punched it out with the snowflake punch and then applied the two way glue to it and then sprinkled the Dazzling Diamonds glitter over it, punched a hole in the center and added a glimmer brad.

Here is one just like this except I used a retired Christmas Paper I had for the top!  This one is for the Craft Show.

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set: Four the Holidays
Card Stock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke
Designer Series Paper: Christmas Cheer (retired)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Snowflake Punch, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

Thanks so much for looking and hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Getting Ready for Bazaar

This is one of the cards that will go in a pack of 6, 3 feminine and 3 masculine, for the bazaar on November 5th.  It was so easy, yet I got the look I wanted.  That always makes you very happy.  I used the stamp set Uncharted Territory and Happiest Birthday Wishes for the sentiment.

Here is another one of the cards made out of the same set and for the sentiment, I used a retired set called So Many Scallops!

On the inside of these I either put the lighthouse or the sailboat the opposite of  what was on the outside and stamped it really light.

Now here is the version for the feminine Birthday Card!

Isn't this just too pretty!  There are times you have to brag on yourself.  I was so happy with the outcome of these cards.

This is the inside for the feminine cards!

Again, I stamped it in very light.

And here it is package up in a clear package and when you look on one side you see the feminine and on the other you see the masculine.

The masculine card is stamped in early espresso and tied with early espresso 1/8" taffeta ribbon.  Card stock is whisper white and early espresso.  The feminine card is stamped in wisteria wonder and tied with 3/8" wisteria wonder ruffled ribbon and the card stock is whisper white and wisteria wonder.

Hope you like what you saw today!  Thanks for looking and let me know what you think about the set and also what you think the cost should be for the pack of 6 cards.

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

The Joy of the Lord

Last Night I just decided I wanted to use this weeks sketch over at Christian Paper Crafts to make a card.  What a great sketch and you can play along by going to the CPC Creative Blog

Then I decided to also add this weeks Bible verse Thursday challenge over at CPC to the list and the challenge for that is to make a project using scripture that would fit the theme of God’s power when we are weak. The reason I chose the scripture of Nehemiah 8:10 is that because of the joy that I have recieved by knowing my Lord as Savior gives me the strength to continue on even in the worst of circumstances.  That joy is true strength even in my weakest moments.  "The joy of the Lord is my strength."

And, when I decided on the ribbon I was going to use, I knew I would be able to join in the Our Daily Bread Stamping Challenge this week, which was to add some lace.  I also made the lace flower with the same lace ribbon.  First try at making it and I think it turned out ok!

So I am excited to be able to play in all of these challenges and I was also happy with the outcome of this card.  It just all seemed to fall into place even though I went to bed a lot later than planned, and am up bright and early this morning.  So here is the card I came up with!

I am just loving this paper which is new in the holiday mini which is available today!  It is called Spice Cake and I have already fell in love.  It adds a little bit of twist to the fall colors theme.

Items used are:

Stamp Set: ODBD Scripture Collection #6
Rhinestones design is from my stash of old supplies

All other items are Stampin' Up!
Card Stock: Soft Suede, Pool Party, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Spice Cake
Classic Ink: Soft Suede
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones, Chantilly 1/2" crochet trim

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!
