Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge

It has been so long since I went into my digital stash, but when I saw this challenge over at Sweet 'n Sassy Digi challenge blog and I knew I was going to have to make this tent card!  I also used the sketch challenge this week over at the Sweet Stop.  Of course this is my first one, and, I think it turned out OK.  There are a few things I might do different next time, but for now, I'm happy with it.  Here is the tutorial on how to do a tent card.  It is really very easy!

SULateNightStampers Challenge - Go green

OK, this is a little late, but it is Monday and time for our SULateNightStampers challenge.  Today's challenge is "Go Green" and as you can see by my card, I went green!  I have been waiting to find a way to use this beautiful paper and have used quite a bit of the other side, but never this side and for once I had the perfect card for it.  I even love the paper pieced dress for the little girl!  So easy to do, just stamp the image on the Designer paper and then cut just the dress part out.  Then you adhere to the image and it is paper pieced!  How easy is that.  I also used last weeks sketch from "Red Hot Stamper Sketch" blog which you can find here! Just seemed to work for this card!

Here is a side view of the card!

And the inside view with another piece of the other side of this paper!

Upsy Daisy meets Stamping 411 Sketch

Good Sunday morning and what a beautiful day it is! Sun is already up and shining!  Thought I would try to get this posted prior to getting ready for church.

This was such a wonderful sketch and I decided to dig a little before actually making my decision and so glad I did as I came up with one of my older stamp set, but one I love.  It always makes such a refreshing card!  And as you can see in the title this card was inspired by the sketch at Stamping 411.  I used two different colors for the daisy and both were from the in-colors groups, peach parfait and calypso coral using the spong daubers.  I used these two colors as the paper looks as though it has both colors in it.  The paper is a favorite of mine also from the Designer Series Paper, Paisley Petals.

Here is a side view of the card which shows the dimension on the card!

And of course as always the inside of the card!

I could not get a good shot of the verse, but it says, "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 41:28.  Love that verse and I know just how true it is!

All Items are Stampin' Up! except the inside verse.

Stamp Sets: Upsy Daisy, ODBD Scripture Collection 4

Timeless Portrait/My Digital Studio

I have really been having a good time with My Digital Studio lately!  And, I am loving this one piece of art I did very quickly this morning for the challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  Every Wednesday, Cassandra puts up a new scripture with a verse that you can down load and use.  I have been wanting to play with her challenge for a while and also have been looking for something to put into the frames that I got a deal on, and this morning just seemed like the right time.  Especially since I am taking the day off of work.  So, I went to my digital studio and knew exactly which paper to pull into my page to get it started, Timeless Portrait Designer Paper.  Then all I had to do was to add in around it and add the verse.  So very easy.  Now to decide where to hang this beauty!

I did try it in a 8 X 10 without the border, but did not like it as well, but here it is!

And here it is before I printed it to the 8 X 10 and 5 X 7!

Here are the items I used in My Digital Studio:
Stamp Sets: Sunset Serenade, Timeless, Simple Friendships, Elementary Elegance
Colors pulled in are: Orchid Opulence, Wild Wasabi and White
The Designer Paper is Timeless Portrait
Bible Verse from Word Art Wendnesday blog

Thanks for looking and hope your day is filled with many blessings from God!

Everything to Enjoy

I just love this paper and had been waiting on a chance to use it and this weeks challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs blog gave me the chance.  I actually received from Nancy, blog The Nickel Nook, when she had a blog give away.  Once you see the inside of the card, you will see some more of this fabulous paper.

Anyway, the challenge at ODBD Blog is to use or create a scene on your card!  So I used the paper for my Scene and then stamped the scripture you see above on the paper.  But I did not stop there!  I decided to use the textured impressions designer folders call "Designer Frames"!  And, it fit the scripture perfectly.  I love the outcome and such an easy card.

And yes, I do have a front view of the card!

And an inside view which I promised!

And a close up of the frame and the verse!

I am also linking this to the Scripture Thursday Linky Party at Little Birdie Blessings!

Items used for this card are:

Stamp Set: ODBD Scripture Series 2
Card Stock: SU Not Quite Navy, SU  Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Webster's Pages Collection triple pack
SU Designer Frames Embossing Folders

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Friday!

Mixed Bunches/Blossom Punch

I think you all know by now that I am loving this Designer Paper, Attic Boutique, and also loving this stamp set, Mixed Bunches and the Blossom Punch!  You can make any kind of card just pop right out with the paper and the punch.

For this card, I was inspired by the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday!  Now a couple of things I did with the flower is I stamped it with versamark and then clear embossed it.  I also, added two of them which you will be able to see in this photo!

Both of them were embossed with the clear embossing powder and the bottom one I used a bone folder to pull the edges under and the top one used the bone folder to pull the edges upward to give the card some dimension!  I love the way it turned out.  Because of the embossing on the top, you had to be careful pulling the edges up on the second flower.  I then used the Designer Printed Brads to put them together and popped them up with a stampin' dimensional.

Here is a close up of the flower!

And of course as always I did the inside!

Items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Sets: Mixed Bouquet, Happiest Birthday Wishes (hostess), Create a Cupcake (happy birthday)
Card Stock: Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Attic Boutique
Classic Ink: Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise
Versamark Ink
Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Blossom Punch
Clear embossing powder

Thanks for looking today and hope you enjoy the rest of this week!

Hymn & Scripture Challenge # 4 - Standing on the Promises

Promises, wow, do you know how hard it is to keep a promise at times?  You know when we get married, we promise to love our husbands in sickness and in health, through good times and bad times.  There have been times that promise was hard to keep!  Now don't get me wrong, I love my husband of 37 years and He loves me, but there are times if you know what I mean. lol

Well there is one whose Word we can stand on and whose promises we are guaranteed!  And that is Jesus Christ!  As Patter said on her post, which you can find here, promise is a word that should be taken lightly as God does not take it lightly.  If it is a promise from God, know for certain that He stand by His promises.  And I know that to be true as I have experienced many of His wonderful promises.  The one and most important is Romans 10:9 "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."  You see I have confessed Jesus is Lord and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead and by doing this I am now saved by His Grace, His child forever!

So here is my page for this Scripture Challenge and as you can see, I chose Psalm 91:4 and Philippians 4:13 as more of my favorite promises.  Actually they are all my favorite, but I can't get them on this 6 X 6 page.

Here is a close up of the verses!

and of the song, Standing on the Promises

Items Used on this page are My Digital Studio and include:
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Details
Happy Birthday Labels
Square Punch stretched
Hodgepodge Hardware
Crochet Trim Ribbon

SULateNightStampers Inspiration Challenge

Good Monday morning all!  Today is the first day of this weeks challenge over at SULateNightStampers and this is my sample for this week!  Now here is the inspiration photo that we had to go by!

Isn't that just the cutes cake and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to use it to may this card for my granddaughter's 9th birthday which is not until May!  But, that child is all about some glitter and pink/black.  So since I knew it would be for a birthday card for her, now came the part of how to put it together until I remembered this weeks sketch from Stampin Queen's sketch challenge!  Just seemed to be just what I was looking for!  And I thought it turned out great.

Here is a side view!

And, of course you have to do the inside of the card!  On the inside, I used the 2-Way Glue Pen and made dots all around the card and then added the Fine Galaxy Black Glitter.  I let it dry and then attached it to the inside of the card as you see here.

The Designer Paper above is the hostess DSP - Cheerful Treat!

Stamping 411 Sketch/Happy Birthday

Good Saturday Morning everyone!  I have been up for some time just working on this card!  I wanted it done and posted by the time I left to go spend the day with my mom who lives about 70 miles from me.  Anyway, as you can see by the title this is for the Stamping 411 sketch challenge this week and you can find the sketch here!  It was a bit out of my comfort zone this time, but I finally pulled it together.

This is a side view of the card!  And for the color on the embossing part of the card, I used sponge daubers dampened a little in water and then in the Poppy Parade classic ink and lightly sponged onto the lines of the embossing.

A close up showing how the ribbon goes through where I punched the hole and stamped the image underneath.  Kind of tricky here, but I did get it straight. lol  Not the norm for me!

And of course as always here is the inside of the card!

February Workshop

I am so excited to be able to share this card with my stamp club tonight as our first project.  Our Theme for tonight is either Newlyweds or Anniversary (according to the sentiment used) especially since this is the month of love!  I am hoping they will like it as much as I did.  The best part is it is fairly easy to make.  I guess we could say that the bigshot is also part of this theme as it is used a lot with both projects.  Have you tried these new edgelits die?  If not they are a must to have!

Here is a little different angle of the card which just shows a little more of the depth of the card!

This card is made using the new adorning accents Edgelits Dies and the Testured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The flower is made using the stamp set Mixed Bunches and the punch called Blossom.  I used the new Large Pearls in the center of the flower and the word window punch for the sentiment.  The ribbon is the new Baja Breeze pleated ribbon.

Now here is the second project and it is a gift card holder for the bride and  groom or for the anniversary couple, "just change the sentiment!"

Here I cut a piece of card stock 8 X 3 1/2, scored at the 4" mark and attached about a 1" strip of sticky tape to each top corner to hold it together. Then embellished as you see here.  The actual gift card holder that you see below is made by using the two tags die and then using the "slit punch" which is now retired, but I used it here.  You could also cut a slit if need be.  You get the top slit when you run the die through the machine.  I hope you understand what I am saying here! lol

For the heart embellishments, I use the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die in the occasions mini catalog!

Now here we come to the Hostess gift for tonight.  I always try to make my hostess something that is home made and here is not exception.  I stamped here on tiles to make them coasters.

Here are the two coasters I put together for her.  I found a photo of her and her family on face book and saved it and used My Digital Studio to frame it, then printed it off and put it on the coaster.  The second coaster I actually used a stamp set which is one of the freebies with a $50 order called Fresh Vintage.  The verse comes from a stamp set called The Nicest Things.  I hope she likes it!

Well now for the announcement that I gave my stamp club tonight.  I will be stepping down from SU in the near future and this will be my last workshop.  I will stay active for the next quarter, but will not be putting together workshops.  I have already spoken with a wonderful lady who will be taking over the club if they want.  This will in no way mean that I will not be stamping.  God has just changed my path a little and a new ministry has been laid on my heart to help with at our church.  With a regular full time job, I just don't have the time to prepare as a demonstrator should so it is best that my club is placed in more capable hands at this time.

Well there you go for tonight!  Hope you enjoyed your time here and thanks for stopping by and keep stopping as I am going to continue to stamp!

Field Flowers and LateNightStampers Challenge

Have you every had a card just bring a Bible verse to mind?  Well this card brought this verse to mind!  "The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light."  Revelation 21:23  I guess it was the brightness of it and springy look of it.  Whatever the reason, I am thankful that my next home will not have any darkness!  I love the summer and I do believe it is because of the longer days and I rejoice in knowing that I will be in the presence of my Lord's illuminating glory!

Well I am a day late on posting this, but was not able to get to it until last night.  This is our weekly challenge over at SULateNightStampers.  This week, we have a sketch challenge.  I just love sketches.  It gives you a guideline and then you can just make it your own.

Here is the sketch!
Here is a side view of my card!

Wedding Scrapbook Page

What a weekend!  I spent the whole weekend working on my upcoming workshop and of course keeping my 18 month old grandson on Saturday afternoon.  He about ran me into the dirt, such an energetic little boy, but I loved every minute of it.  So since I was unable to share some new cards with you, I thought I would share a couple more pages that I have done of my daughter's wedding.  I am now at 36 pages and am now just getting to the reception.  So I anticipage about 45 pages total.  May run more, we will just have to see!

So here she is getting ready with my oldest daughter and me helping her!

And now adding all the finishing touches!

She was such a beautiful bride!  Well both of my daughters were.  And once I finish this one, I will have to start on my oldest daughter a book since I was not doing this 10 years ago when she got married!  Maybe I will use the same page layout to make it easier! lol Not sure that would work.

All items used are from My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up!

Punched out Presents

Good Saturday morning my dear friends!  Could not start my Saturday without sharing with you my inspiration from Stamping 411.  When I first saw their sketch I thought what will I use for this one?  But after a few minutes of looking around, this is the idea I got.  And, now that it is complete I like it.  The card was very simple to do with the hardest part making sure the presents were centered on the paper and in line all the way down.  For the present, I used the 1 1/4" square punch and for the bow at the top I used the blossom bouquet triple layer punch and cut the punched flower in half.  So one punch makes two!  Easy enough.

Here is a side view of the card!

And a close up showing the dimension of the punched presents.  I used the Stampin' Dimensionals for this!

And can't let you go without seeing the inside of the card!

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set: Happiest Birthday Wishes

Designer Series Paper: Just add Cake
Classic Ink: Peach Parfait, Wild Wasabi
Punches: Decorative Label, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer, 1 1/4" Square
