Butterfly Birthday card

Good Sunday Morning to you!  Looks like we may have a rainy day today, but that is OK.  I still can't do a lot of getting out with this foot healing, but it is doing a lot better and I can sit at my craft table for a while and get something done.  This is a card I worked on yesterday for a little while and was inspired by this weeks sketch over at Paper Craft Crew Challenges.  It kind of goes back to spring, but I was needing some more birthday cards to send out and this just seemed to be the perfect birthday card.  Don't you think so?

Here is a side view of the card!

And I did use some of my shimmer paint spray, so there is a little sparkle. I tried to get some of that sparkle in a photo so this is the best I could do with that.  Not the best but it shows some of the sparkle.

And here is the inside.  Did not add a sentiment as yet to the inside.

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Card Stock: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Island Indigo
Designer Series Paper: Twitterpated
Ink: Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Island Indigo
Frost White Shimmer Paint (mixed with alcohol and spritzed on)
Stamp punch
Extra Large oval punch

Thanks for stopping by on this wonderful Sunday and now I must go and get ready for church as I am teaching this morning.  Blessings on this Lord's Day!

Hello all!  I am so excited as I have been asked to be a guest designer for this week's sketch over at Sunny Challenges and Creations.  This is such an honor for me as they do beautiful work and beautiful sketches and the design team is very talented.  Did I say I was thrilled! lol  So here is the sketch for today's challenge and I would love for you to join in this week.  Also there is an add on to the sketch and that is to use something from the new Idea Book and Catalogue which is NEW or use something from the Christmas Mini Catalog!

And, here is the card I created for this sketch!

So as you can see I used the new hostess stamp from the catalog called "Four Seasons" and then I used the Christmas paper from the Mini called Snow Festival.  I am loving that designer paper.

And the inside of the card!

I do love doing the insides of my cards and it does seem to add a lot to the card.  Now I need to start doing the envelopes to match.  That is for another day.

Hymn & Scripture Challenge # 12/Trust and Obey

As I was thinking about this challenge and the song, Trust and Obey, I thought Lord help me to always be dependant upon you, to trust you and to obey you.  That is my heart desire is to have such a relationship with my Lord that when people see me, they see Christ in me.  I love the 1st verse of this favorite hymn:

When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

To be happy in Jesus, we do have to trust and obey!  I know, for I have tried to do it without Him and it all seems to fall down around me.  Oh what peace he bestows upon me when I listen and trust Him!  That is what prompted the verse I used on this page which is Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths."  Isn't it nice to know that when you lean on Him, trust Him, He will lead you into the path you are suppose to take.

Here is my page that I did for this challenge!

I used My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up! and they have a digital paper with this little girl standing there.  And when I saw it as I was going through my papers it just seem to say "choose me". And so I did and boy am I glad.  The page turned out just as I wanted it to.

Now don't forget to check out Patter's page as she is the one who prepares these challenges for us and she does such a great job.  So stop by her blog and let her know what you think.  And, I will leave you with this version of the song Trust & Obey by Big Daddy Weave!

Blessings to all my wonderful friends out there in Cyber Land!

I will be linking this with this weeks Word Art Wednesday also!

SU LateNightStamper Challenge/Tear that Paper

This weeks challenge over at SU LateNightStampers is to use the tearing your paper technique.  I love this technique but quite often forget to use it until something like this comes up.  So I went kind of easy and simple with this card.  The hard part was the coloring which I used the ink pad and a blender pen for that which is another technique all on its own.  And then used even another technique of sponging which I love also.  So here is what I came up with.

Here is a side view of the card!

And of course I can not forget the to work on the inside also!

So now it is your turn so get that paper out and start tearing.  It is really easier than what you think.

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Card Stock: Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke

Tweet Leaves Happy Birthday

Hi all! I cannot believe that I made a card yesterday.  Well it took me all day as I could not get comfortable at my stamping table.  Could not get my foot elevated high enough and sitting there just a few moments and I could feel it start to swell.  So it took me about three times going into my craft room to get it done,  but finally I did.  I am not certain I am thrilled with my final product, but I do like the overall look.

I was inspired by the sketch this week from the Paper Craft Crew Challenge blog and knew I would be using my Tweet Leaves stamp for this card.  I used my markers to color the image on the stamp and then stamped the image on whisper white.  I then used the die, autumn accents, to cut it out along with some of the other colors.  I also spritzed the image with the Silver Foil Smooch Spritz which gave it a little sparkle, but you can't see that very well in the picture.

Here is a side view of the card!

Hymn & Scripture Challenge #11 - Great is thy Faithfulness

This is one song that I remember singing often as a child and now that I am an adult, mother and grandmother, I really look at the meaning of the song and the meaning of the words and see just how faithful God has been to me and my family.  There is no way I could ever repay Him for what He has done for me.  And I am so thankful!

As a matter of fact, I could not stop singing it as I worked on the page all last week.  And what a great time to be able to keep my Lord's faithfulness on my mind as I was preparing for my foot surgery.  And as I write this today, I truly am thankful as the worst is past and I am thankful for God's mercy.  Pain is under control and I am walking little by little.  Still have a ways to go, but am knowing that the healing process is already under way.

The verse I chose for this page is "Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies." Psalm 36:5  And, how true is this!  I am so thankful to be able to share just how much our Lord loves us and how faithful He is!  Here is my page!

Click Here to hear Selah singing this Hymn!  And to view Patter's write up/devotion on this song you can go here! You will not be sorry!  She writes so beautifully.

Used My Digital Studio to create this page.

Thanks for looking and may God bless and keep you!

I also entered this on Word Art Wednesday blog!

SU LateNightStampers Challenge/Use Polka or Stripes

Good Afternoon all!  This is my first post all week as I had foot surgery on Monday and have not had the mind to even try to post.  Pain is not a good thing, but I am finally a little level headed and hopefully on the mend.

This is a card I did this past weekend for the LNS challenge this week.  We were suppose to do polka dots or striped and I decided to use both.  And when I saw the sketch this week at Unscripted Sketches, I knew I would make this baby card.  And they also had a piggyback attached which was to actually use the card or send it.  Well I did it for a friend of mine who wanted me to make her daughter-in-law a baby book also and she is using the Noah's Ark theme so this card will work out great.  And, I am almost through with the baby book.

Here is a side view of the card!

Hope you like the card and thanks so much for looking today.  I am unsure of all the names so, since I don't fill like getting up and walking at this time, I am going to pass on my products used today.  But, they are all Stampin' Up!  Have a great rest of the week.

Snow Festival Designer Series Paper

Wow what a busy day I have had running from one field to another to make sure I get all the grand kids in for today, plus today we are celebrating my husband's birthday.  So I thought while I had a few moments, I better get this cute card posted that I did last night.  It was inspired by this week's challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches and it is their year anniversary so we got to choose one sketch from all the sketches this past year to use. I chose Sketch #14 so I could use this darling paper from the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper.  Isn't the deer just the cutest?  You can find the sketch from week 14 here

Here is a side view of the card and I made this card a 5 X 5 so the 3" cut out would work.  I usually do 4 1/4 X 4 1/4.

And here is the inside of the card!

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Many Merry Messages (inside)
Card Stock: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Gumball Green, Primrose Petals
Designer Series Paper: Snow Festival (the center piece, the owl and the background paper all came from this DSP, love it)
Ink: Primrose Petals

Another One Layer Card - WOW for LNS

Good Morning and hope your week has been blessed.  Today I want to share with you another one layer card and another technique I learned.  It is called "Embossing with Framelits."  You can find a video here as to the layering and how to emboss.  I just love the look of it and thought about adding ribbon or something but it seemed to take away from the finished product, so I kept taking it off and just left it as is.

Here is a close up of the embossing!

And a side view!

Isn't it the neatest. I have been wanting to do it for a while and finally decided to go for it this week.

And actually since I used the white natural paper, I decided to do the inside, but did not add the layering to the bottom inside.  Here is the inside.

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp set: Apothecary Art
Card Stock: Naturals White
Designer Series Paper: Festival of Prints paper stack
Ink: Early Espresso, Raspberry Ripple

SU LateNightStampers Challenge/One layer card WOW

Our Challenge this week at SU LateNightStampers is to create a card that is one layer but has a technique that give it a WOW! So I decided to use the new Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Folder along with some of the new Tulle Ribbon.  And, what really makes it pop is I also used the Brushed Gold Card stock which is a heavier card stock than our "everyday" card stock.  Really the only time I have used it is at Christmas and I do really like it a lot.

Here is a side view of the card!

So you can still see that I decorated the inside of the card.

And, here is the inside!

This new paper pack had a piece of Designer Paper that matched perfectly the brushed gold card stock.  Love it!

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Sets: Joyous Celebrations, Holy Family (sentiment inside - retired)
Card Stock: Brushed Gold, Very Vanilla (inside)
Designer Series Paper: Festival of Prints Paper Stack
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark

Using Designer Paper as the Focus!

Happy Monday all! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and your week has started out wonderful.  I thought I would share this card where all the stamping I did was the Sentiment at the top. I just love it when designer paper is pretty enough to make a card pretty.  But let me let you in on a secret, make sure you turn the paper correctly before putting it on the base of your card. LOL  Actually I did not notice it until I saw the photo.  I am still going to give this to someone for Christmas and hopefully they will not notice it is upside down!

This card was inspired by this weeks sketch over at Unscripted Sketches.  I was looking for different smaller images to use and when I saw this designer paper, I thought that will work all on its own.

Here is a side view of the card!

And, the inside of the card!

Did better on the inside as the owls are all turned correctly and not upside down!

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Set: Four Seasons, Holy Family (inside - retired)
Card Stock: Whisper white, Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple
Designer Series Paper: Snow Festival
Ink: Gumball Green, Primrose Petals
Ribbon: 3/8" Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon

Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!

Hybrid Christmas Card

I just love to do Hybrid cards every chance I get and last night as I was sitting at home alone (high school football which means Friday night widow for the season), I pulled up My Digital Studio (MDS) and started playing.  When I saw this wonderful digital paper, I knew I had to create something with it.  It is called Joyful Times and I had a joyful time creating this card.

What inspired this card was this sketch over at Paper Craft Crew!

I may have to use this again as I do like the looks of the sketch.

Here is a side view of the card!

And a close up to show how I popped up the last panel and the words!

Also did the inside!

Isn't this paper the best.  I am going to have to print me out some 12 X 12 pages as I just love it.

Now to show you what I printed off.  I used a 8 1/2" blank page in My Digital Studio.  I added two punched squares and made the 4 X 5.5 paper "Joyful Times" for the outside and inside of the card.  They of course are on the left side of the page.  I did another two punched squares and matted both with Cherry Cobbler, added the Christmas ball from the digital stamp set "Jolly Bingo Bits" to one of the squares which I measured 3.75 X 2 (I think) and using the new color tool in MDS, I colored the ball the cherry cobbler and pool party.  I colored the top of the ball and string gray.  I then grouped the ball and the punch together so  they would not move.  I then put it on top of the other punched square which I made 3.5 squared and added the cherry cobbler mat to it.  Added another digital stamp from "Jolly Jingles" to the top part of the page trying to measure it the best I could for cutting out and placing on the card when it all printed out.  (It was a little bigger than I wanted, but it worked.)  So now you have it.  I printed this on a 8 1//2 " X 11 piece of Whisper White card stock.  Cut it out and made the card.  EASY PEASY!!!  I did use my stamp set called "Christmas Lodge" to stamp the inside sentiment.  So I did do some stamping on this!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Clean & Simple

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I did a one layer clean & simple card!  Can you believe it?  It is hard for me to believe, but I had a few moments last night and thought I would work on the sketch from Clean&Simple! And, while I was at it I used the color challenge from Pals Paper Arts!  And, since I am on the fall kick this week, the colors worked out great!

Here is the side view of the card!  For some reason this view was a little brighter.  Just the angle of the camera and the light I guess!

And yes even though it is a one layer card, I had to layer the inside!

It was a quick and easy card and now that I have done this one, I must do more.

Card Stock: Naturals Ivory, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla

New Scrapbook Challenge/Announcement

First of all before anything else, I have an announcement to make.  Come February my daughter will be giving my husband and me a new grandchild and Tuesday night we found out it will be a boy!  So now I will be Grammy to two granddaughters and two grandsons.  I guess my e-mail will have to change at some point to Grammytoo4 now.  But I am really excited for my daughter and her husband and Kyrsten, even though she wanted a sister, but in her words, "a brother is ok!"  Now on to the post!!!!

There is a new Scrapbook Challenge out there and I am excited as I really need to do a lot more scrapbooking to get caught up and even more come February.  So I thought I would join the 1st challenge for scrapbooking at Paper Craft Crew!  Since I needed to scrapbook a page of my grandson's birthday party, I thought this was the perfect opportunity and the perfect sketch.

Here is the Paper Craft Crew's first sketch!

And here is my page layout!

Isn't he just the cutest thing!  Sorry I know we are suppose to be talking about the page not the cutest little boy ever! lol  (I guess in February I will have to start saying "one of the cutest little boys ever")

My Digital Studio was used to create this page along with the On the Go kit by Stampin' Up!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

Triple Layer Stamping

Isn't this just the coolest technique and one I love doing.  Actually here is a video of how you can do this wonderful card using whatever stamp you would like!  So easy and really so quick.  I wanted to go fall since this week's challenge with LateNightStampers is to "Fall into stamping."  This is actually my third post this week with a fall card.  But with each one, I have used a sentiment that could be used at anytime.  With this one, get well as I would like to send this to a lady in our church who has been out a while sick.

Here is the side view!

And the inside of the card!

Four Seasons / Itty Bitty Banners

Good morning to all my friends and hope you had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. I enjoyed myself and actually did some stamping.  And this is one of the cards I stamped which was inspired by the sketch over at Sunny Challenges & Creations.  At first I thought what will I do and then I remembered my Delicate Doilies Sizzlits L die and my Four Seasons stamp set and it all came together.  I decided to look in my retired stash for designer paper this time and I am so glad I did as this beautiful paper you see was looking right at me and calling my name.  It was last year's fall paper called Spice Cake.  Love this paper.  Again this goes along with our theme this week at SU LateNightStampers which is to "Fall into Stamping."  My card is a 4 1/4 square.

Here is a side view of the card!

SU LateNightStamper's Challenge/FALL into Stamping

This week's challenge with our LateNightStampers group is Fall!  Well I got the wheel before the cart or is that the cart before the wheel, anyway, I have been doing Christmas cards.  So it was refreshing to be able to pull out this die and this stamp set I got back in July.  I had been wanting to use it, so when I saw the sketch this week over at Stamping 411, I kept thinking until I finally figured out how I was going to use it. (Also, I was sad to see that Stamping 411 will be taking a break, but I know it is much needed for them and I hope to see them back soon.) I think the card worked out very well, as I love the outcome.  I also love stamping on card stock to make my own design paper which is a wonderful technique.  So easy to just take certain stamps and stamp all over paper using the colors that best suit the card.

Here is a side view!

and yes, I did the inside!
