LCOM Sketch #37 - Scrapbook Page

Well I finally got to my grandson's four month old picture and tomorrow he will be 7 months old, so still a few to catch up and enter into his book of memories.  I just love doing this and doing the ones for my other grandchildren.  It is the best way to preserve those special moments in time.  Isn't he just the cutest little boy?  As you can see in the bottom picture here, he was just discovering his feet.  Too cute to me.  Well got to get to work so that is all for today, short and sweet!

My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up! was used for this page.

Sketch for the page was from Let's Capture Our Memories blog!  Check them out as they have wonderful sketches.

LNS Challenge 232 / Sketch 281 - Monday Lunchtime Sketch

To all my friends out there, Happy Monday to YOU!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was very busy as normal, but a relaxing Sunday afternoon.  Now I am starting a new week and am looking forward to what God has in store for this week.  I have found out that I have not been as happy lately at work (a lot of changes, more work, no more pay) and even when I am playing with my paper. I almost felt as though I was being punished, but what for?  And, I realized that I was even making the people around me sad.  My very own daughter told me to "Get Over it Mom,  maybe God is trying to show you something."  WOW, what wisdom my "sweet" daughter has.  So last week as I was reading in my Bible, I read 2 Chronicles 20 and boy did God show me something in this.  If you want to know what God can do for you, just read that chapter and you will see just how mighty He is.  It made me re-look at my relationship with Him and to realize that God has placed me where I am right now for something big.  I may not see it yet, but in the mean time I am going to be still and know that it will all work out for His glory and my good.  I just had to share this with you and now on to the challenge at hand!

This weeks challenge for Late Night Stampers is to use the bling and then I used Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch to make the card.  And, I decided to use the Festive Flurry stamp set and the framelits.  I am very happy with the turn out and now you can see it!

I also used the Snow Flurry embossing folder as the background for this card, which added a little dimension to it.

Here is a side view.

And a close up of the snow flake.

So make sure you join us in our two challenges this week at Late Night Stampers and Monday Lunchtime Sketch.

Mixed Media Project #2

Happy almost Friday everyone!  Thought I would share my second mixed media art piece with you.  I am so much happier with my she girl  in this one.  She just seemed to come out a lot better or maybe I have just practiced more.  Not really, just seemed to come together better this time.  I also continued on with the "I am" series.  The first was "I am Forgiven," you can see it here, and this one is "I am loved."  So here it is.  Hope you like it.

Here is a close up of the she girl!

I am so glad that I am loved enough that my Father sent His only Son to die for my sins and for yours.  There is no other love like the Love of Jesus Christ.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday and a blessed weekend.

I am also sharing this with Word Art Wednesday!

Hymn & Scripture Challenge #15 / He Leadeth Me!

I have had this scripture challenge done for a couple of days, but just have not felt like posting.   Every felt like that?  Well I decided to get it done tonight so here it is.

I do love this song and the song is all about our Lord leading us by the hand.  Look at these words.

He leadeth me, O blessed thought!
O words with heav’nly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where’er I be
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

Refrain:

He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful foll’wer I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

Sometimes ’mid scenes of deepest gloom,
Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,
By waters still, o’er troubled sea,
Still ’tis His hand that leadeth me.

Lord, I would place my hand in Thine,
Nor ever murmur nor repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since ’tis my God that leadeth me.

And when my task on earth is done,
When by Thy grace the vict’ry’s won,
E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,
Since God through Jordan leadeth me.

And, this is exactly how I feel!  Without God leading me I am not certain I would be here today to make this post.  Because I truly believe that I am where I am today because I have placed my hand in God's hand and I am allowing Him to lead me.  Do I make mistakes and sometimes veer the wrong way, yes.  But I am quick to realize that I cannot continue on without holding on to God's hand and the peace that comes from allowing Him to lead me.  With my hand in His I am content wherever I may go.  You see I realize that I have to put my trust in God to lead me in the direction I am to go.  I have tried to do it without Him and boy have I failed big time.  I repeat, I cannot do it on my own, I need God!  Peace, what Peace in holding on to God's hand with all my might.  Try it, you will like it!

Check out Candi Pearson singing this wonderful Hymn!

Now on to my page!

The verse I chose was what seemed to stick in my mind after I read Patter's post on this Hymn.  So when I got down to choosing a verse, this is the one I went with.  If we allow our Lord to lead us and instruct us in the way we should go, His eyes will always be on us.  And, that is what I want is for Him to always be watching over me.

Now please don't forget to check out Patter's post!  I know you will not be let down, but you will be lifted up!  May God lead you today and always!  God Bless!!!

I am also linking this with Word Art Wednesday!

Sketch 280 - Monday Lunch Time Sketch

Happy Monday everyone and what better way to start your week than to do a little stamping!  Well I did mine earlier, but Mary Jo definitely has a wonderful sketch for us today over at The Techno Stamper and I did mine very clean and simple using the Hexagon Punch and the Six sided sampler stamp set.  And of course had to used one of my Adorning Accents embossing folders.  I just love the monochromatic look and the little bit of white just set off the Strawberry Slush color, don't you think?

From the very first of the new in-colors for this year this has been my favorite.  Such a great color.  I embossed the flowers down the side with white embossing powder and then used the embossing folder edgelit to emboss around the flowers.  I added a pearl to the center of each flower.

Here is a side view of the card.

And of course had to do the inside!

I am making some cards for one of our ministries to sell as a fund raiser and one of the reasons I am adding scripture to the inside.  It just seems to add a little more to the card.

All items used are Stampin' Up! except scripture on the inside.
Stamp Sets: Six-Sided Sampler, Bordering on Romance, ODBD - Scripture Series 2
Card Stock: Strawberry Slush, Whisper White
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Versamark
White Embossing Powder
Adorning Accents Embossing Folder
Pearls

I am also entering this into this weeks Twist of Faith Card Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by on this wonderful Monday and have a very blessed day!

Clean and Simple #257

As you all know I am on this Clean & Simple kick and when I saw this weeks clean & simple sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to do and what items I would be using.  Well I did change from a butterfly to a flower, but that is about it.  I have been using so many butterflies lately that I felt I needed to check out my other supplies and of course I went back to my framelits which are so easy.  So here is my card for this weeks CAS challenge.

I used one of the Stampin' Up! spritz bottles to add ink and water and spritzed the side of the paper with it and then continued to decorate.  I love the outcome.

Here is a side view and the envelope.

And the inside,

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Sets: Secret Garden, One in a Million, Simply Sketched
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Coral, Gumball Green
Ink: Coral
Secret Garden Framelits
Washi Tape

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

LNS Challenge 231 / Sketch 279 - Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Well it is Monday Morning and I am here to share my samples with for our Late Night Stampers challenge - Teacher Gift, and our Monday Lunchtime Sketch from Mary Jo.  Again Mary Jo has a wonderful sketch for us and please go over and see her sample along with the rest of the DT and please join in.  And, how did I combine the challenges?  I actually used her sketch to make a pack of cards for the Teacher Gift.  So here are the cards!

I actually started off making this card which was a 4 layer card and when I was finished, I thought this is just too busy for me.  You will have to tell me what you think and I may make another to match the others for the gift.  Just let me know what you think in the comments and it will help me to make my decision.  Maybe I am becoming a more of a clean and simple stamper.

Now here are the rest of the cards starting with the one that will be in the front of the pack.

And with this one, it shows the envelope that I made to go along with each card!

And on the inside of each, I did a sentiment, but not the same.  This is just to give you an idea of what it looks like.

And of course here is the pack of cards for my Teacher's gift!

I may put a ribbon around it or something to give it a little more of the gift look, but it really does not need it.  What do you think about that.  Love these easy cards.

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Sets: Papillon Potpourri, Curvy Verses, Word Play
Card Stock: Gumball Green, Whisper White, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals
Ink: Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Primrose Petals
Embossing Folders: Perfect Polka Dots, Flower Garden
Punches: Elegant Butterfly, Bitty Butterfly, Scallop Trim Border

Thanks so much for stopping by today and hope your week is filled with many blessings.

Scrapbook Page - Simply Slidin'

Good Morning and hope your week is going well!  I just wanted to share with you quickly another page I did of our trip to Virginia.  This is my grandson who lives here in the same town as me, but he went up to Virginia with us to visit my youngest daughter.  She has a big activity center in her backyard and he just loved it.  So as he was sliding, I started taking pictures one after another and thought this would make a great scrapbook page.  I just love the outcome of the pictures from start to finish.  I also found the sketch I went by on Pinterest, but you can find all the sketches from this wonderful site here called Quintessentially Me!

My Digital Studio was used to create this page.  Thanks so much for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of your week.

MDS Monday Sketch 29

Happy Tuesday!  Yes, I am back from visiting my daughter and grand kids and was so excited to be able to share in my granddaughter's first cheering game at her new home.  She was so excited to be able to get on the cheer team there and since I was there for her first game, of course I got photos.  So what better way to share this than with scrap booking.  So I decided to use the sketch from MDS Monday.  The added challenge to this sketch was to use frames and I love the outcome of using them.  So here is my scrapbook page of my granddaughter's first game in her new town.

Isn't this just the best page.  I love it.  I decided to used the Cheerful Treats MDS collection since it kind of matched her colors.  The frames came from the It's All Me Embellishments.  I just love My Digital Studio!

Hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch 278 - Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Well happy Monday Morning.  When you see this, I will be in Virginia visiting my daughter's family.  By now I will have been holding my 6 month old grandson for 3 days and doing a lot of talking with my granddaughter.  I will also be leaving there today to come home.

So now on to this weeks sketch from Mary Jo.  I loved this sketch and decided to do some sponging with it.  More details below, but please check out Mary Jo's and the Design Teams sample for "the Monday Lunchtime Sketch" and here is my sample for this weeks sketch.

So here is what I did to sponge the circle and the scallop on the white.

  • I punched out the 2 1/2" circle and centered the piece of paper the circle was punched out in the center of the white paper.
  • I sponged within the circle on the edges and out a little with more of the Cajun Craze Ink and less in the center to leave a little white.
  • I punched out the 2 3/8" scallop circle and placed the punched out piece in the center of the paper with the punched out circle.  (Hope you know what I am talking about.)
  • I then sponged the Chocolate Chip ink into the area surrounding both pieces of paper sponging a few times to get it really dark and look like a border.
  • Still leaving the circle template in place, I then stamped my image with the Chocolate Chip in the center of the circles.
  • And voila, you see what you get.  I then cut as needed and decorate card as needed.
Here is a side view of this card.

And then the inside where I used another image from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set along with a scripture.  Then I will be able to write on note on the bottom portion of the card.

All items used are Stampin' Up! except scripture noted below!
Stamp Sets: Serene Silhouettes, Embellished Events, ODBD Scripture Collection 6
Card Stock: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze
Bitter Banner Framelits
Wood Grain embossing folder

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a very blessed week!
