Simply Sent Happy Hello

Well happy Friday to you!  Today I will be going back to work after 3 days off for an ice storm we had here.  Might not seem like a lot to some of you, but for us here in Wilmington, NC, it puts you up for a few days.  Actually today I think our temps should be high of 56 degrees which is pretty much the norm for this time of year.  So what is left should be gone by this afternoon.  Anyway done with the weather report and on to the card share for today.

Last Monday I ordered some items from our SU Clearance rack to help make it easier to get a few gift packs together for our up coming Gateway Landing Graduation and Banquet.  Got them on Friday of last week and with the few days off this week was able to put them together quickly.  I think for the cards and the envelopes, I paid less them $2.50.  Now that is what I mean by inexpensive, but they look like a lot.  Here they are!

There are 4 of each of these.

And then again I also used these containers I got off the clearance rack to hold the set of 8 cards, using my digital studio to create the inside cover.

Love, love the way it turned out.

To see the first set I did earlier in the week, check out this post.

Have a wonderful day!

Timeless Talk Happy Birthday

I was out of work again yesterday due to an ice storm and was able to work on another card.  I am just loving this time to be able to do other things besides work and clean.  Which, I did do some cleaning today as I am still working on getting Christmas stuff put up and getting things back out to where they go.  Seems like my weekends are taken up with helping take care of my Mom and Brother which I would not trade for the world.  Each day I have them in my life is such a blessing.

So as I was looking through some sketches, I saw this one on Sketch Frenzy Friday and decided to use this timeless talk with the black, white and crumb cake.  I do love the way it turned out. I will also enter this into this weeks LNS challenge as I used the square framelits!  Yea!

Also we got a lot of ice here in Wilmington, NC yesterday and last night with just a tad bit of snow.  Even though my granddaughter woke up with a fever this morning and had to go to medac, she still came over and went down the little slope I have in my yard.  Of course she didn't do it for long as she felt really bad.  Now my grandson had a blast and wanted to stay at Grammy's and do it a lot more.  So I thought I would share a few photos with you today.

Nathan trying to figure out how to use the boogie board on snow instead of water. :)

Roscoe running after Nathan.  I love my sweet dog!

Morgan getting ready to take a slide.

There she goes!

They both had fun and thanks for letting me share with you today!

Assorted Cards-Simply Sent Everyday Elegance

Well I have been trying to get my craft room organized and in doing so, I am finding all kinds of things I forgot I had.  I had ordered this set of Simply Sent Everyday Elegance Card kit from the SU Clearance Rack.  I know it was less than $3 for the kit, so I needed a set of quick cards to be able to put into our upcoming auction for Gateway Landing, facebook page.  So when I found these, I put them where I would be able to work on them when I could and yesterday was the day.  Here is the whole set.

And here are just the Cherry Cobbler.

And now for the Baja Breeze!

I now wish I had bought more than one pack of these, but next time I will know.

Here is the box I put them in and got it off of the Clearance Rack at Stampin' Up! also.  You can check thee clearance rack out by going to my website

I made the insert by using My Digital Studio and printing it out.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you are continuing to stay warm.

Vivid Vases

Hello all!  I bet this is a surprise.  Today we are having freezing rain here in Wilmington, NC, so I am home.  We do not drive in snow and definitely in freezing rain, so no work for me or my husband today.  Kind of fun to have a day just to stamping and that is really what I have been doing.

This morning I started looking for some sketches to work on today and also wanted to use a new stamp I had purchased a while back called vivid vases.  As soon as I saw the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch, I knew it was the perfect sketch for this stamp set, I just turned it to make a landscape card instead of portrait.  So here is my card!

Isn't this just the best stamp! I love it.  I also used the embossing folder called Pretty Print and used my Shimmery White Paper.  Love that paper also.

Here is a side view!

LNS Challenge 240/Sketch 298- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Happy Monday to you all!  Yes, we are home after 10 days at Duke University Hospital.  Got home Saturday evening and then helped train our other two sisters on how to do some things and then we headed on home to Wilmington.  My Mom is doing well and seems to be getting stronger still.  Talked to my sister yesterday and she was joking that me and Connie (my sister who was up at Duke with me) needed to come back because they were not keeping her as comfortable as we were.  Mom was telling them that Jonia and Connie did it this way.  We had a big laugh.  But I am thankful of God's many blessings and for taking care of mom during this emergency.  He certainly blessed us beyond measure and has taken care of us too.

Now on to this weeks challenges.  Last week started the challenge for LNS as it runs two weeks so I decided to make it a part of the Monday Lunch time Sketch this week also.  I will just link it to the challenge at LNS.  This week's challenge at LNS is all about new beginnings.  This can be a new house, new baby, wedding, whatever you consider new.  It can be a card, scrapbook page ore anything that works for you.  And, the sketch that Mary Jo has for us this week is just awesome.  I loved it as soon as I saw it and decided it was time for a new baby card.  So here is our sketch for this week!
And here is my sample for both challenges this week!

I decided to make a little tag or book mark and insert it in the center.  I found some cute poems for babies on the internet and kind of put a couple of them together.  I found them on Scrapbook.com under the Resources link.  Really cute poems added their for baby.

So here is the tag pulled up!

And a close up so you can see what I did underneath.  I actually created the tag in "my digital studio" and left the top blank so I could stamp the "sweet Baby" image.  I am so thankful that my printer almost matched perfectly with the colors I used.  Once I printed the tag, I cut it out by following the blue line, stamped the top "sweet baby", added the ribbon and it was done.  So very easy.

Here is the tag close up!

And here is the inside of the card.

On the inside at bottom the actual stamp is just Mom, Dad, and Baby.  Well I kind of added a few babies as this is the third one for this couple and I just thought it would be cute.  So just an idea for the future use of this wonderful stamp if you need it.

All items used are Stampin' Up!

A Look Back - 1

Hello and so sorry my post have been so few, but family comes first and I have been up at Duke Medical Hospital since Wednesday.  My mom had to have emergency surgery on her spine, so no stamping for me.  But I had a few moments and thought I would hi lite one of my favorite stamp sets today and some of the post I have made with "Clockworks."  It is a great masculine stamp set and also can work great as a any occasion card.  So here is my first hi lite using it to make a tag.

And then again for a card!

And another card.

To see more of the post I have used using this fantastic stamp check out all my Clockworks post.

Good Monday Morning and hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I am here today to share my sample for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch today.  I just loved it and decided to use the chalk board technique by using black paper and white craft ink.  I did use some old letters I had that had retired from Stampin' Up! as I have so many and hate to order a current set.  Plus I do not use them that often, but I sure do love the way they turned out.

Here is the inside of the card.

Clean and Simple Zoo Babies

Happy Saturday to you!  I took a few moments this morning before cleaning up a little to create this card for a baby we are expecting in our church.  I used sketch 274 from the Clean And Simple Blog.  I had this cute stamp set for a while and had not been able to use it yet and this was the perfect opportunity.  Love these little animals.

Here is the inside.
