Sketch 329- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready for our Monday Lunchtime Sketch!  I really love all of these sketches that Mary Jo is coming up with.  If you have not played along with our Monday Lunchtime sketch, you want to start with this sketch.  I am just loving it and what the design team has done with it.  So as not to make you wait any longer, here is my sample for this weeks sketch.

Isn't this just fabulous?  I saw a card done by Kathleen Wingerson on SplitCoastStampers and followed her technique on how to do a window sheet.  I ran the window sheet through the bigshot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder to get the effect of waves on it.  I do like how it turned out.  I attached the window sheet to the circle using the brads.  I also cut out the fish and popped him up before attaching the window sheet.  Gave so much dimension.

Here is a closeup of the fish and window sheet.  And, now you can see that I used my blendabilities on the fish.  Love those markers and I am getting better with them.

Here is a little bit more of the look of the window sheet embossing.

So what do you think?  Does it look like moving water.  It sure does to me.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to stop by and see all of our design team samples.  I know you are going to love them.

Teacher Desk Top Stationary - MDS

Happy Thursday and yes, I do have a post for you guys.  Aren't you excited?  Well I am because what I am sharing with you today, I have made for teacher appreciation gifts for my grandchildren.  So when I made this for a college graduate whom I have know for the last 10 years and then she was hired to teach history at the same school as my husband, I just had to share it with you guys.  The funny thing is she posted a thank you (I sent it by my husband on Tuesday) to me on Facebook and called me Ms. Jonia.  I have not asked my husband yet, but I wonder if she is still calling him Mr. Russ at School.  She is such a sweet girl and I am happy for her.  Anyway, here is the teacher desk top Stationary Pack I made for her using MDS.   Gotta love it!  Sorry about the light.  I could not get a good photo with good light as the more light I put on it the harder it was to see.

And here is the stationary on the inside which measures 5.5 X 4.25 (same size as the basic cards we make).

and a close up of one page.

Really looks a lot better in person.  The envelopes are on the bottom under the stationary and are the 3 5/8 X 5 1/8 I think.  Again I apologize for the lighting.  At least you get the idea.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Sketch 328- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Happy Monday everyone!  I always have to say this to make sure when I see it, I am having a happy Monday!  For me it is back to work and for the last year, my job has become very demanding and stressful.  But I am working through that with help from the Lord.

Welcome to our Monday Lunchtime Sketch.  This weeks sketch was perfect for the card I wanted to make for my husband for our "40" anniversary, which was yesterday.  I wanted something cute that really said it all.  So I went back in time and chose a stamp set that I have not used in quite some time, but used a lot while it was active.  It is now retired SU, but one of my favorites, Things I Love.  And, I do love all those things, but as the inside of the card says, but most of all you.  Here it is!

Can you tell I made it as masculine as possible?  I have a friend I follow who made a card with a girl in red cowboy boots and if I could have gotten hold of that digital stamp, I would have.  It would also have been perfect because when we got married, we were both country, country.  Traveling with the military got a little of the country out of us, but it could not get it all. lol

Now here is the inside which I chose a few different stamps just to add a little more of our character to the card.

Now isn't that just a mess!  But the kind of mess I wanted.  You can't stay with someone 40 years without saying all of this.

Hope you enjoyed my post today and don't forget to go check out the rest of the design team samples.

Using Scraps to Create Card #2

Well here I am back for the 4th day, so excited!  And again I am sharing with you a card I made using scraps on my stamping table as I was cleaning up.  I also found the image already to put on that I used for this card.  You will even notice a little water stain on it.  I should not have told you and I don't think you would have known, but that is what happens when you do something and don't use it, then let it sit on your stamping table for a while.  Anyway, just another card using the wonderful Monday Lunchtime sketch this week.  I also have used Sassy Salutations on it since I started the first card.  Love that set.  Anyway here it is.

So what do you think?  I sponged the background and used a circle to cover the white part.  Once done with that, I stamped the image.  Love, love the way it turned out, even with the water spot.

Here is a close up.

I may still try to sponge the little spot again just to darken it a little.

Hope you enjoyed using my scraps post and hopefully I will have more for you later.  Enjoy your Thursday!

Using Scraps to Create Card

Hello again!  I am on a roll.  Actually I created this card on Saturday while I was cleaning up my stamping room.  I ran across this flower that I had already put together with leaves and all for another card and did not like it, so when I got to it I put it to the side.  Then I come across the already cut out circle and thought, I can put these together and use "The Monday Lunchtime sketch of Mary Jo's again.  So what did I do, look and see!

Now this was just using things that I found laying around on my craft table.  I love it and I am so glad that this weeks Monday Lunchtime sketch was perfect for using up my scraps.  And a close up of my flower.

I kind of crinkled the leaves to make them look more like leaves.

Thanks for stopping by for yet another day with a post!  YEAH!!!!!

July Paper Pumpkin Kit

WOW are you saying what is going on with me?  Two days in row posting.  Well to be honest my husband is doing high school football and last night they had their first scrimmage game of the season, so I pulled out my first ever Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin kit which I got in July and started working on it.  I was told I would love it and now for sure I do.  I actually am getting ready to get my August kit and thought I had better at least check out my July kit.  I am making these for my next Bazaar/Craft show.  What do you think?  Here is the set, card & box.

Everything comes with the kit except the rose on top and the leaf.  I added those as extras.  You can make six of each and have some of the items left over.  How exciting is that?

Now here is he box by itself.

And now for the card by itself.

Even the stamps come with this kit.  There is a total of 10 stamps.  Now that I have the first set done, I am going to have to get busy and make the other six.  I will do each card different, but may do the boxes close to the same.  I like that spiral flower on top which I used my SU Spiral Flower die to make it and that is the first time I have used that die.  I have had it for months.  Time for me to get busy don't you think?

Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday and by the way, I have 2 other surprises for you this week.  I am on a roll!!!!

Sketch 327- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Good Monday Morning to all my friends out there.  Today I am using my new blendabilities with you.  Have not got it down pat as this is really my first time using them, but I am sure I will get it before long.  Even the card I am sharing with you today is not perfect, I love it.  Mary Joe has another fabulous Monday Lunchtime sketch for you today.  Now just to let you know, you do not need to use Stampin' Up! products even though she would love for you to, so please join us for this wonderful sketch today.  Now here is my sample for this weeks challenge.

So what do you think?  I know I need a little more practice with the coloring, but I do love it anyway.  Here is a close up which shows you the blending though.

As I said, definitely not perfect, but when you are not looking for the flaws, it is beautiful to me.

Hope you will join us for our Monday Lunchtime sketch and don't forget to link up.  You may be part of our top 3.  Enjoy your week everyone.

Sketch 326- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Well did you think I had forgot to post my card yesterday!  Well if you did, you were right. Yes, I am still on vacation I guess even though I have been back for a week.  So I am posting now and I just love the sketch this week for our Monday Lunchtime Sketch.  Mary Jo hit a homerun with this one.  So now to my card.

I actually used a new stamp set I just recently got from Stampin' Up! called Big News.  I just love it.  You see the WooHoo on the front,  Now look at the inside.

Isn't that just the best way to say "it's your birthday."

Now you have to go check out the sketch and the rest of the design team samples as they are all great.

Hope you have a wonderful week and please come and play with us this week.
