My Paper Pumpkin January 2015

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  I have now finished with my January Paper Pumpkin and I love it.  I can't wait to give them all away.  Still trying to decide what I will do with them, but I do know that my grandchildren will get theirs and then we will see.  We are having a family gathering next weekend and I thought I may do it then.  We will see.  But now I am sure you would like to see what it looks like.

And a close up of the first few!

And another shot at a little bit different angle.

Now aren't these the cutest.

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my valentine packages.  I hope you have a wonderful rest of the weekend my friends.

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #2 - Representative

I just have to start with this, I am going to love this challenge this year.  I have already felt the touch of my Lord as I was working on challenge 1 and now on this one.  As soon as I read Patter's post for the 2nd challenge, I felt God touching my heart.  I knew then that I have to choose what is more important in my life.  And just walking through the house all of a sudden this song came to me, Glory to God Forever.  I went and wrote it down right then.  If you have not heard this song, you can hear it here.  The words are wonderful and I just love singing it. These are some of the verses in the song.

Before the world was made, before You spoke it to be
You were the King of kings, yeah You were, yeah You were
And now You're reigning still, enthroned above all things
Angels and saints cry out, we join them as we sing

Glory to God, glory to God
Glory to God, forever
Glory to God, glory to God
Glory to God, forever, yeah

Creator God, You gave me breath so I could praise
Your great and matchless name, all my days, all my days
So let my whole life be a blazing offering
A life that shouts and sings the greatness of our King

Glory to God, glory to God
Glory to God, forever
Glory to God, glory to God
Glory to God, forever

Take my life and let it be
All for You and for Your glory
Take my life and let it be yours

As Patter said in her post, "What kind of representative are you for the Lord."  That really made me think and all I could think about was to bring Glory to God.  If I bring glory to Him, then I am a good representative.  Now I can assure you that I wish I brought glory to God each and every day, but I don't, but, I want too.  Reminds me of Paul there (Romans 7:15-20).   There is one thing I can say, the more I study God's Word, the more I see what I need to do to correct those days and the better I get at being a representative or ambassador for my Lord.

The verse I chose reminded me that everything I do, whether eating or shopping or working, whatever, I need to do it for God.  If I do it for God, I bring glory to him.

So now without further ado, here is my mixed media canvas!  Yes, I decided to do mixed media again and I love the outcome.  I would change a few things, but all in all I am happy.  Why shouldn't I be, I did it for God!

Here are some close-ups!

Hope you enjoyed my post today and don't forget to go by and check out Patter's post.  I know you will enjoy it.  Blessing everyone!

Sketch 351- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

It is time again for our Monday Lunchtime sketch and again, Mary Jo has put together a great sketch.  I love the ocean and I have a saltwater fish tank in my home, so today I wanted to use my two favorite sets from Stampin' Up!, By the Tide and By the Seashore.  It just reminds me of relaxation and comfort.  And right now that is exactly what I am striving for.

So here is the sketch for today!

And here is my version.  I will say I forgot to round the corners before attaching to the card, but I was ok with the square, so no need to change is my motto.

And yes, I did do the inside!

And a close up of the shells!

Hope you have enjoyed my card for today and hope you will join us this week for our Monday Lunchtime Sketch.  And don't forget to check out the rest of the design team samples.

Sketch 350- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Happy Monday and welcome to our Monday Lunchtime Sketch.  I decided to do a scrapbook page with this weeks sketch.  My granddaughter will be 3 months old tomorrow and I have not started her 1st year baby book.  So what better way to start it than with this wonderful sketch Mary Jo has for us today.  So here is the sketch!
And here is my first page for Ansley!

Isn't she just the cutest little thing.  Hopefully I will catch up a little and get her caught up soon.  I am trying really hard to put things in order in my house and in my routines to be able to do more of the things I love.

Now don't forget to go by and check out the rest of the design team samples.  I know you will love them.  And please play along.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you all have a blessed and wonderful Monday.

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #1 - TRUST

Well hello my friends.  I know it has been a year since I did one of Patter's scripture challenges.  I missed all of last year.  It was a bitter sweet year.  But it kind of goes along with Patter's 1st challenge of 2015.  We had to put our TRUST in God and know that He had control of everything.  The verse I chose for this challenge is Psalm 91:2, "I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”  You see God is what gets me through it all.  Without Him I am nothing, but with Him I can handle all things.  I trust Him with it all.  Here is a little of my story from 2014 and because of trusting God with it all, I am a different person.

My mom and brother both started out the year of 2014 in the hospital.  Mom finally recovered from her major surgery and has been in the hospital a couple of time since with pneumonia, but all in all is doing well.  Still having breathing problems, but we know God is in control.  My brother on the other hand spent the year going between bad and good.  So I spent a lot of time in my home town helping to take care of him.  As most of my followers know he was down syndrome.  So he lived with my mom his whole life and between his workers and my 3 sisters we tried to make sure someone was with him and mom all the time.  It took a lot out of us, but we would not change the time we spent with him for nothing. On October 20th my husband and I had our 5th grandchild, a little girl Ansley Grace.  What a blessing from God she was and still is.  Every time I see her she reminds me of what and Awesome God we serve.

We spent two days in Virginia with my daughter and family and on October 22, late in the day, the day our little Ansley came home from the hospital, we got a call that my husband's brother had a tragic accident and was dead.  WOW is about all I can say.  It took our breath away and took us back to our home town to be with his wife and daughter.  We also knew that Danny was now in Heaven and yes we would morn, but he was better than he had ever been.  So glad for the hope we have in Jesus.  We still miss him very much, but because of God we can take it one day at a time.

I was still spending 2 weekends a month in Lumberton helping out with my brother and the end of November my brother went back into the hospital.  He was aspirating when he ate.  We were given an option for a feeding tube, but were told he probably would not do well with it as his body was shutting down, so he was placed in hospice and on December 7th my brother went home to be with Jesus.  No longer was he hurting and no longer was he different.  He was made whole and was running the streets of gold praising God.  Yes, I still miss him and am crying as I write this, but because of the hope I have in Jesus, I know I will see him again.  How wonderful will that be.

Along with all of this, my dad has Alzheimer's and is in a Alzheimer's unit.  Found out now that he has stage 4 cancer.  So we are dealing with that also.  But again, I know in whom I trust and I know He is with me always.  There is no way I could have made it through this year without trusting in God!  And the reason behind using the song that Patter had posted on her blog, "Tis So Sweet To Trust in Jesus."  Here is a beautiful version of this song.

I have always loved mixed media and decided that I wanted to use this song as the focus on this canvas.  I am still not good at this as this is only my 4th piece, but I am happy with it.

And here is a close up of the music sheet.

I am not sure if I will be doing the mixed media canvases each time, but I do love these and to me this is glory art.  Hope you like it and thanks so much for stopping in today and letting me share some of my story from this past year.  And remember "God is Good!"

Blessing my dear friends!  And please check out Patter's post for Trust!  You will love it.

Sketch 349- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Well, my goodness it is already Monday.  I think the older you get, the faster time flies.  What about you?

It is also time for our Monday Lunchtime Sketch and I for one loved the sketch that Mary Jo put together for us today.  It was such a clean and simple with a little added extras.  Just my style.

Today I am sharing the sketch with you also, so here it is.
Don't you just love it?  And now here is my sample for this weeks Monday Lunchtime Sketch.

Don't you just love it?  Well maybe I just love it.  I am not sure what kind of sentiment I will put on the inside, but I have decorated it already.

Please let me know what you think and don't forget to go over and check out the rest of our design team samples.  I know you will love them.

Sketch 348- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Happy First Monday of 2015 and can't wait till you see the great sketch that Mary Jo has for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch today.  It is so simple with so many possibilities.  You will definitely have to go check out all the designer samples on this one and use your scraps to join us this week.  So here is my sample for this week.

I am still unsure of what I will be using this one for, but I have a couple of people I have in mind for it and need to make up my mind soon.  Regardless, I really like the simplicity of it.

Couldn't decide which angle I liked, so I used both of them.  Like the color on the one above, but the shadow is less on this one.
Now don't forget to stop by and check out the rest of our team's samples.  I know you will love them.  And don't forget to add your sample.  We would love to see what you come up with.

Enjoy your Monday and enjoy your week.

Happy New Year Gifts

Happy New Year to all of you out there this morning.  What a beautiful day it is here in Wilmington, NC.  Skies are Carolina blue and we have some beautiful sunshine right now along with high in the 50's today.  Just love it.

I wanted to share with you today some Gifts I will be giving my co-workers when I return back to work.  I will not tell you what is in them as some of my co-workers do follow me.  But I made these cute little bags with the Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack from Stampin' Up!  I have more to make so they will be in different colors.

Here is a close up of one of them.

One sheet of the 4 1/2 X 6 1/2 makes this little bag.  You gotta love it.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a wonderful and blessed year.
