Sketch 360- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Happy Monday everyone.  I am on vacation this week and spending some time in Disney with my oldest daughter and her family.  So this is one of my scheduled post for this week.  This week we have a awesome Monday Lunchtime sketch as usual and can be very fun to play with.  So here is the sketch.
And now on to my sample for this weeks sketch.  I decided to use the stamp set Butterfly Basics as a background to the sentiment and I really like the outcome.  So here it is.

I actually inked, stamped on scrap paper and then stamped on the white card stock to make it lite.  I then stamped the butterflies over with a light pink.  Then stamped the sentiment on top in black.  Love this.

Here is the inside of the card.

So here you have it.  How easy is that?  Now it is your turn so just pop on over and check out the rest of the design team samples and then link up at the bottom.  I know you will be glad you did.

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #6 - Follower

Hello Friends!  I look so forward to these Glory Art Scripture challenges twice a month as I love creating these mixed media pieces.  I have never taken any classes, probably should, but I just look at u-tube every once in a while or PINTEREST and get some good ideas.  But not only that, it really challenges me to look and study God's Word.  I want to make sure that what I do will bring glory to God.

So this week Patter gave us the word Follower.  And about 6 months ago, I did a bible study called "Are You a Fan."  Well this just reminded me so much of that study.  Because it is so easy to put yourself in the fan status which is a lot easier than the follower status.  There are a lot of people who are fans, but only a few who truly follow Jesus Christ.  As I was thinking about this, the verse from Luke 9:23 kept coming to my mind, "And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."  You see Jesus never told His Disciples it would be easy and He did not tell us it would be easy.  If you read more into Luke 9: 24-25, Jesus goes on to say, " For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. 25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?"  You see it may be difficult at times, but the outcome will be worth it all.

So I hope my mixed media canvas represents this verse well.  It did not come out exactly as I had planned, but I think God may have had a different design than mine.

For some reason the purple has always seemed like it should go with the cross, so I did more purple where the cross would go.  Actually thank you so much Patter.  I won a pack of Blue Fern Studio Ornate Crosses from you way back and this is one I had left and used it on my canvas

And here is a close up of the cross and verse.  The left part of the canvas on top is like a dogwood tree.  I tried to get it to stand out better, but this is what came through.

And then the lower part of the canvas to show the beauty of serving our Lord.

I hope you can see what I saw in this piece.  It may not be my best, but what it betrays is the best.

Make sure you go by and check out Patter's post as you will not be sorry.  It is wonderful as always. Blessing to you all.

My Paper Pumpkin March 2015

I must say that I am very impressed with this months paper pumpkin.  You get 9 cards, 9 envelopes and a wonderful stamp set along with other items.  This is another set of cards I will put in the Gateway Landing Ministry's auction.  With this kit, you did some sewing.  But I chose to only sew 3 of mine and did alternate for the rest.  You will see what I mean when you see it.

This is my first 3 using one of the stamps "Happy Birthday to."  As you can see I sewed the center one.  The rest I outlined and colored in.  The first one on the right I decided to use a little crystal effects on the YOU part of it.  It seemed to match the stars better.

Here are the next two.  I sewed the one on the right and then just colored in the other one.

And now to the next two.  The one on the right looks beautiful in person, but the gold trim just picked up the light and shone bright.  I used gold glitter on the inside of the YOU on this one.  To hold the glitter I used glue.

And now to the final two.  I just had to use some pink on the first one with little pink flowers and the gold glitter on this one is the glass glitter.  And I used the silver glass glitter on the one on the left.  Love these two.

To see the actual video and what comes with this paper pumpkin check out this video.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Wedding Card, Big News Stamp Set

A couple of days ago I posted a set of cards that I had embossed a few extra white pieces of card stock and decided to use the one of the extras for a wedding card I needed soon.  You can find the original post of the 10 note cards here.  And here is what I did with the piece using a stamp set called Big News.  Love this set.

And here is the inside of the card, which is also a part of this stamp set.

So there you have it.  Don't ever throw anything away as you never know what you can use it for.  I really am loving this card.

Sketch 358- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Well good morning all.  It is already time for our Monday Lunchtime Sketch.  Seems like just a few days ago I posted the last one and now it is Monday again.  Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend.  We had some beautiful weather here on Sunday so I am not wanting to go back to work today, but I must, I must!

This weeks sketch was another great one, but hard to decide what to use and I finally decided to use one of my older stamp sets since I am looking forward to some spring weather.  But first here is this weeks sketch.
Now here is my card for this weeks sketch.

Yes, I used the Secret Garden Stamp set and dies from Stampin' Up!  They are retired now, but I still love this stamp set.

On the inside I used some more of the flowers and also used one of my stamp sets from Our Daily Bread Designs.  Love to add a scripture every now and then.

Now it is your turn to do something with this sketch.  And, don't forget to check out the rest of the design team samples.  They are all just wonderful.

Set of 10 Cards using Lotus Blossom

Hi all!  I was planning on posting this yesterday after I finished them, but then got caught up in other things and never made it to the computer.  So today is the day.  Yesterday I got out my stamp set called Lotus Blossom which is the first time I used it, but I had seen so many cute cards out there on Pinterest and decided this would be a great time to use it for some cards I was making as a fund raiser for a ministry I am part of called Gateway Landing.  Gateway Landing is a faith based ministry for men with addictions.  My brother-in-law is the founder and director of this ministry and does a wonderful job with little recognition or pay.  But that is what God has laid on his heart and he can't let it go.  My sister is a big part of the ministry also as she handles all paperwork and other things.  So I am very proud of all they have given up to minister Jesus Christ to these men.  To see more about this ministry you can check out their Facebook page.

Every year they have a banquet and graduation for the men who have graduated and do a silent auction.  I usually try to make cards to help out with this ministry and this is my first pack for the banquet in April.  This was a lot of fun.

All cards are basically the same, but each way of stamping the 3 step stamp makes each card a little different.  I also did an envelope for each card also.

And here is the packaging I put them in!

Well hope you have see what cute flowers are stamped with this set and also the different sentiments you can put on all of them.  I just looked through all my sets and found the ones I liked best.

For some reason I made two extra of the embossed piece of the set and I used one of them for a wedding card that I will be sharing with you on Tuesday.  Please stop by and see a wonderful wedding card I made for a friend of mine who will be getting married in April also.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Card Set.  Hope you have a wonderful week coming up.

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #5 - Not Alone

What a great word Patter brought us with this challenge # 5, "Not Alone."  As soon as I saw it I thought about how my Lord is always available and the peace and comfort He gives me in my time of need.  His presence is always with us.  Another thing I have noticed is that when I feel like I need someone to talk to, it never fails, someone just seems to show up wherever I may be.  Isn't God so good?  He knows every need we have and he just shows off when we least expect it.  And I for one just love that.

Patter also shared a song on her blog by Kari Jobe, "I Am Not Alone."  What a beautiful song and you can click here to hear it.  It is just beautiful.

It took me a while to find a verse to go along with my Mixed Media Painting, but I finally found one that just seemed to be what I was looking for.  Isaiah 43:2, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;"  This is where I stopped on my mixed media art, but here is the rest of the verse, "when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."  Isn't that just wonderful?  I love to read the bible there is something new everyday in it.

I saw this cute free digital on Pinterest of a little boy and girl walking in the rain and fell in love with it.  As soon as I thought of what I wanted to use on this one piece, that is the one that kept coming to mind.  You should be able to find it here.  So I printed, colored it, cut it out and then attached it to my already painted canvas.  It went together so well.  Here is my canvas.

I think this is my most favorite of all I have done.

Here is a close up of the boy and girl.

And other close ups!  I printed the scripture and I am not Alone and then sponged the paper to give it some of the same color as the canvas.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and please go by and check out Patter's page and great Testimony that she shared with her post.  I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.  And remember "You are not Alone."

Sketch 357- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Time for our Monday Lunchtime Sketch!  I know you are excited, because we have been having some wonderful sketches and this one is another great one.  I actual cut out two images for mine today and that is one reason I buy so many punches and dies is because I don't like cutting.  But for some reason I just had to use this stamp set.  First here is the sketch for this week.

Now on to my sample for this weeks sketch!

Now do you see why I used the By the Tide set by Stampin' Up!  It is one of my favorite and I used the blendabilities and love the outcome.

Here is a close up of the fish!

And yes, I did the inside also.

Well now it is your turn, so go by and see all the samples of the rest of the design team and link your sample to the bottom of the post.  I can't wait to see what you show us this week.

Sketch 356- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Welcome to our Monday Lunchtime Sketch.  Another great sketch by Mary Jo and so many ways you can work this sketch.  I actually went right by the sketch and used the Butterfly Basics again which I know I already love.  So first here is this weeks sketch.

And here is my sample for this week's sketch!  The flowers were some Jolee's flowers I had just sitting around and I wanted a little more and they just worked out perfect.

And the inside.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks sketch and hope you will stop by and check out the rest of the design team samples.  And, then sit down, relax and make a card and link it up at the bottom of the post.  Mary Jo does pick the top two or three each week.
