My Paper Pumkin - April 2015

Happy Sunday everyone.  I am finally posting my Paper pumpkin that I received in April.  I have had these done for a couple of weeks, just no time to post.  But had a few moments to take pictures today and did just that.  So here you go.

This is how the finished product looks.

This is how it looks outside of the packaging.  You could actually put a gift card inside the little card that goes into the folder.  Love this.

And this is an alternate project I made with the items that came in the kit.  You can do so much with this little kit.  Just love it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday afternoon.  Beautiful day here in Wilmington, NC.

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #9, Hope and Rest

HOPE and REST!  What does that mean to you?  Well as I studied so many scriptures for this challenge, I realized just how much we can rest in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Not only that, I found that we have hope in Him, through Him and when we allow Him to be the center of our existence here on earth.  What a great combination from Patter for challenge 9.  Thank you Patter for being so diligent in your studies.

So I decided to do two mixed media pieces and did them on a 8X8 canvas.  When I thought about rest, I thought about the beach and the waves.  I lives five miles from the beach and often go down just to walk and meditate.  There is nothing like the sound of the waves and the beauty of the water that shows you just how great our God is and brings so much rest to the soul.  The verse I chose for that canvas was Matthew 11:28, "Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest."  I don't know about you but there are many times that I labor and am heavy laden.  And when I give it all to my Lord, I do find rest.

Then I looked at the word hope, and I saw blue skies, the sound of the birds chirping and of course had to get me a bird in there.  Bird sounds are very soothing to me and I think of God as taking care of them and how if he takes care of them how much more will he take care of us. (Matthew 6:26)  That gives me hope. The verse I chose for this canvas was Psalm 33:18, "But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love."  You see our Lord loves us so much that He went to the cross for us, therefore I have hope.  Praise God, what hope we have.

Here are my canvases!

On this one I wrote the scripture, but quickly found out I don't like my writing.  So will probably be the last one.  But once I had it on there, I decided not to paint over it.

My bird's face is a little out of sorts, but I love her anyway. I used a stamp (God's Purpose Clear Stamp Set) from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and also a die (God's Purpose Die) that goes with it.  I also used my gelatos for the first time and loved them.  Here is a mixed media tutorial for gelatos that I used to get an idea of how to use them.  So easy.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to go by and check out Patter's devotion and glory art for these two words, REST & HOPE.

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #8, Intercessory Prayer

Wow, what a great challenge Patter gave us this week with "Intercessory Prayer."  I can definitely relate to her story regarding waking up and praying for your daughter.  God has woke me up many times to pray for others and then times just to pray.  And, like Patter, I always let them know I was praying for them.  Not always by praying through text or email, but just letting them know God has placed them on my mind.  To see Patter's post, please go here.  I know you will enjoy it.

There were so many scriptures that God led me to through this study time and I am so thankful for all of them.  But the one I kept coming back too was 1 Timothy 2:1-3.  It just seemed to fit all circumstances and was something that Paul felt was necessary to urge us to do and then goes on to say it "pleases our Savior."  So here is the verse: "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior".  You see with this verse regardless of who God lays on our heart, we need to pray for them.  We may not necessarily like them, which has been the case a few times with me, but God knows the need and what that prayer will accomplish for us and for them.  Intercessory prayer is a wonderful thing and something I know has saved lives and also helped others to go on.  God is so good and I am so thankful to be able to feel His calling and His urging.

Here is my mixed media art for this subject of Intercessory Prayer.

Here is a close up of the verse and top of canvas!

And a close up of the bottom.

I love this image and found it by goggling coloring pages of prayer.  I printed her and then cut her out, adhered her to the canvas and then colored her.  Love using coloring pages for digital images.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you are blessed.  I was blessed by creating it.

Sketch 362- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Good Morning every one. Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I know my daughter was in town for the weekend and what a joy to spend time with my grandchildren.  God is so good to me.

Well today it is time for our 1st and 3rd Monday Lunchtime sketch, this of course being our 1st Monday sketch.  So without further ado, here is the sketch for this week.

It is so funny because before I even saw the sketch, I had been thinking about using my washi tape.  I get things and then don't use them.  So I had seen it lying around for a while and thought I am going to use it the next time I do something and this sketch was just perfect for it.  So here is what I created for you this week.

Just a very simple card made with two different tapes running through the card.  Also added some to the inside.  Then I stamped the flower stamp from Butterfly Basics and used my blender pen which I have not used in forever too.  Colored and then attached with pop dots.

Hope you like my sample this week and don't forget to stop by and check out the rest of the design team and what they came up with for this sketch.  I know you will love them.

Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful week.
