Merry Little Christmas

The weekend is almost over and I have another busy week this week preparing for another stamp-a-stack on Saturday.  This past one went very well and everyone seemed very happy with their cards.  So the rest of my week will be cutting card stock.

This is a card that I made for Christian Paper Crafts Wednesday Case Artist.  I cased the sketch of her card basically but when I saw the card, I knew it would look good with this paper and this stamp set.  Hers was more of a summer card with flowers and mine I used a snow flake and a snow globe.  But it was an easy card to make and very quick once I knew exactly what I was going to do.  See bottom of post for items used.

Card Stock:  Whisper White and Real Red
Designer Series Paper:  Candy Cane Christmas

Wow, layering is not one of my fortes, but I think it came out all right anyway!  This card was inspired by the Monday Color Challenge and the Tuesday Sketch Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.  Please check out their challenges if you have not done so.  They are great.  One for everyday of the week and monthly scrapbook challenges!  It is a must to see and I am so inspired by their gallery.

Crosses of Hope

Good Monday Morning everyone!  Hope you are ready for the week ahead.  My husband is gone to a conference this week, so after work I can go home and stamp.  Which I will be mostly getting ready for a stamp-a-stack on Saturday.

Anyway, now to the card!  This is actually for three challenges.  It is for the Late Night Stampers challenge to use pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.  So as you can see, I tried to use a lot of pink and I really like the turn out.

The other inspiration is this weeks sketch at stamping 411.  I just can't get through the week if I do not use their sketch.  Anyone else like that?  It just seems a natural to me now.

The last and final inspiration is Bible Verse Thursday with Christian Paper Crafts.  It was to use pink also for cancer awareness and to use a verse.  So the verse I used on the inside was Numbers 6:24-25, "The Lord bless and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you."

Items used are Stamping' Up! unless otherwise noted:

Stamp Set: Crosses of Hope
Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pretty in Pink
Designer Series Paper: Retired, but printable on My Digital Studio.
Classic Ink: Basic Black
Markers: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery
Extra Large Modern Label Punch
Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon
Black Taffeta Ribbon 1/8"

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!

Thanksgiving

Hope everyone has had a great Saturday so far.  I have been busy cleaning my fish tank this morning and now getting ready to go to a soccer game for my granddaughter.  I just love watching them run around the field.  But I thought I would share this card prior to leaving.  I made it last night and it is for the Fun on Friday and the Case Artist Wednesday challenge on Christian Paper Crafts.  I just love those challenges.

The verse was computer generated and then I stamped the image over it using the stamp set Silhouette Sentiments which is a hostess set.  I then cut it out with the new decorative label punch.  For the Swirls, I used the Swirls Scribbles Sizzlits Die.  Other items used were: Card Stock - Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Designer Series Paper - Newsprint, Antique Brads, Crochet Trim - Victoria, Top Note Bigz Die.

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think.

October Workshop

Good Friday to everyone!  I know I will be glad to start the weekend.  Hope all of you are doing well.

Today, I am sharing what we did last night at our Fall Workshop.  Workshops are a lot of work, but so much fun and we all had a blast.  This card uses two stamp sets, studio sketches and grateful greetings.  I love both sets.  The studio sketches is such a great stamp set and I have loved using it for fall cards.  The grateful greetings has everything from Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas to Valentines day.  You can't go wrong with this wonderful stamp set.  And of course my favorite bigz die was used on the card, the top note along with the embossing folder square lattice as the background.  Other items used was the 1/8" taffeta ribbon in early espresso and sponges for sponging the frames of the stamped image, Stampin' Up! markers for the coloring and of course the log cabin smooch spritz.  That was an after thought and I really like the way it turned out and so did all the guest at the workshop.  Colors used were early espresso, cajun craze, daffodil delight and whisper white.  Used the Circle scissor for the larger round and the 2-1/2" circle punch.

Our second fall project was this scrapbook page which was inspired by another demonstrator.  I changed it up quite a bit and of course had to add my grandchildren to the mix of this wonderful page.  Everyone had a wonderful time working on it and we used quite a few punches.  For some reason using punches seem to brighten everyone up.  They just love creating something from a punch and these pumpkins did the trick.  My title page was done through My Digital Studio and of course I did theirs the same way except it read "Fall 2010" instead of "Grammy's Little Pumpkins."  Colors used here are chocolate chip, very vanilla and old Olive.  The pumpkins are made from Tangerine Tango and the following punches were used:  the new medium 3/4" X 15/16" oval, the large 1-3/4 X 7/8 oval, the large 1-3/8 circle.  The fence was made using the dotted scallop ribbon border punch and the word window punch (cut in half).  For the leaves I used the extra large bird punch.
Thanks so much for looking and hope your Friday is filled with joy!

Northern Flurry

Good morning everyone.  Hope all of you are having a wonderful day!  Today I want to share with you an easy card.  So simple to do.  All you need is the embossing folder from Stampin' Up! called Norther Flurry (you will need a big shot or cuddle bug or other machine to run the embossing folder through), the Stampin' Up! card stock Cherry Cobbler and Shimmery White, 1/2" Cherry Cobbler seam binding and the Stampin' Up! rhinestones.  That is it and so very simple.  You can see how it is put together.  I did spritz the shimmer card stock with water prior to embossing to make the detail a little more prominent.  Hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday/Joy at Christmas

Well it is hump day and boy is this week passing fast.  I think the older you get the faster time flies.  Anyway, this card was inspired by two challenges over at Christian Paper Crafts - Color Monday and Sketch Tuesday.  Please check them out.  There is a challenge for every day of the week.

For this card, I used all Stampin' Up! products:
Stamp Sets: Birthday Bakery (hostess), Tiny Tags
Card Stock: Whisper White, Bashful Blue
Designer Series Paper: Sunny Garden
1/4" Daffodil Delight grosgrain ribbon
2-1/2" Round scallop punch, 1-3/4" round punch
Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz
brads

This card was inspired by the sketch at stampin' connection.  Of course I am trying to make as many Christmas cards as possible since I will be sending out around 50.  Very seldom do I do more than 2 or 3 alike.  They are always different as I try to find a good match for workshops and stamp-a-stacks as I create.  Hope you like!

Stampin' Up! Items used:
Stamp Set: Perfect Punches
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Almost Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler
Designer Series paper: Deck the Halls
Ribbon: 1/2" seam binding cherry cobbler
Sparkly Brads

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!

Bells & Boughs/A Very Merry Christmas to You

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I have had this waffle paper for some time and nothing seemed to call its name until I saw this sketch from stamping 411.  And, for some reason it reached out and grabbed me and I knew it was the sketch I needed to use the waffle paper.  And, by using the waffle paper, I was able to use it for the challenge today at SU only challenges.  I was so excited.  The card actually looks better when it is sitting right in front of you.  For the stamped image in the center, I actually used the gold embossing powder for the stamped image and then used markers to fill in around it.  I was a little worried at first that I might have messed it up, but when I finished rubbing the color off the embossing, I actually liked the effect.  Both the sentiment and the image are popped up using stampin' dimensionals.

Items Used:
Stamp Set: Bells & Boughs, Best Yet (retired)
Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Brushed Gold, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Deck the Halls
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, versamark, soft suede for sponging
Markers: Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler
Gold embossing powder
Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz
Waffle Paper
Large oval punch, Oval Scallop Punch

Thanks for looking and hope your day is wonderful!

Deck The Halls

Good Monday Morning everyone!  Don't know about you, but it is definitely a Monday morning here.  I did want to share with you a card I made recently using the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper.  This stuff is wonderful and makes such a beautiful card.  I just cut the corner out of one side of the paper and attached it to make this card.  I also use the stamp set Delightful Decorations and the ornament punch to add the ornaments to the card.  The ink used for the ornaments was almost artichoke and cherry cobbler.  Then I stamped the sentiment in cherry cobbler using the Four the Season stamp set.  So easy and so quick.  Thanks for looking and hope you have a fabulous day!

Stampin' Up! Gift Card

Hope you all are doing well.  I just wanted to post this quickly before I left for church.  I will try and come back later to edit if I have time.  This is a gift card cover I made to hold a Stampin' Up! gift certificate for a friend of mine.  It was for bosses day, so I used the computer to generate the sentiment.  You could also make one of these to give a gift card or money.  Very easy.  I used the vintage vogue stamp set on this one.  The color is real red and the Designer Series Paper is from last year.  I stamped the flower twice and cut one out and then pop dotted it to the other flower to give more dimension.  Thanks for looking!  Let me know what you think.

Scripture Challenge #2, Challenge Word #21 - FIRST

Last Scripture word I did was priority and then the very next one that comes out is FIRST!  Do you think God is trying to tell me something.  Sure seems like it to me.  I do enjoy doing these and putting them in a book and I enjoy looking through the book to see all the great verses that have come from this Scripture challenge.  I am still behind, but catching up little by little.

Again, if you would like to see Patter's post on the word First, see her post here!  I appreciate her taking her time to give us these words every other week.  It is a way to really look through the Scriptures and find one that speaks to our hearts.

For my page I used two scriptures: Matthew 6:33 - Seek ye first the kingdom of God.....  That is the first thing we need to do is seek out God first and then all the things we need in His "will" will be given to us.  Our desires will be His desires.  And the second scripture is 1 John 4:19 - We love because He first loved us.  He loved us before we were even saved, before we were here on this earth.  And, because of His Love for us, we can now Love!  I don't know about you, but I do know that I love people who are hard to love and I know it can only come from God.

My page today was done by using "My Digital Studio" by Stampin' Up!  Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day.  May God bless you!

Doodle This

Good Friday Morning everyone!  Today at Christian Paper Crafts, the challenge for Fun On Friday is to Doodle, anywhere on your creation you need to do freehand doodling.  Stop by there and see all the wonderful challenges they have each day of the week and such sweet people to motivate you each day.

So as you can see, I did a one layer card and used my freehand doodling to doodle a frame around my image.  I was thinking the whole time I was going around, "this is going to look bad."  But I actually think it turned out fairly well.  Kind of scared me a little because I don't do freehand very well.  An artist I am not!

Items Used:
Stamp Set: Studio Sketches
Card Stock: Sahara Sand
Classic Ink: Chocolate Chip
Markers: Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizazz
1/2" Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding
Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz
(stamped verse - unknown)

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Christmas Tree Punch Art

Good Wednesday to all!  Hope you are having a wonderful week.  I made this card this weekend and am now just getting around to posting it.  I cased it from Marisol Gutierrez.  She actually had two posted and I just love them.  You can see hers here and here.  Thanks for such a wonderful idea!  It was such an easy card to make and very fun.  I used stampin dimensionals and may not use them next time as I think it may look better with the ornaments on a flatter surface.

Items used:

Stamp set: Four the Season, Delightful Decorations
Card Stock: Naturals White, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip
Classic Ink: Wild Wasabi
Ornament Punch
Rhinestones
Petals a Plenty embossing folder

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful evening.

Birthday Bakery

Good Monday Afternoon to all of you!  Hope your weekend was fabulous and you have started your week rejuvenated.  This is a card I made for this weeks challenge at Late Night Stampers which was to make a Birthday Card.  This is one of the Hostess stamp sets and I just love this dessert line up stamp.  Makes me want to eat it and of course the saying that goes with the set is just too cute.

This card was really simple to make.  I just started out with the basic card in whisper white.  I then cut a piece of Concord Crush to 4" x 5 1/4" and embossed it using the square lattice embossing folder.Using the top note die, I cut a blushing bride and whisper white piece of card stock and then on the whisper white using scissors cut it a tad smaller than the original.  I stamped my images on the whisper white and using a versarmark pad, covered the entire piece of whisper white card stock.  I then poured the iridescent ice embossing powder over the card stock and using the heat gun embossed it for the glitter effect.  I then adhered the two top note pieces together and then using stampin dimensionals adhered them to the concord crush.  Then put my ribbon around the top 3 pieces and then adhered all to the base of the card.  Then made my knot and attached to the middle.  How simple is that.

Hope you like what you see!  Thanks for looking.

Scripture Challenge #2, Challenge Word #19, Priority

I am finally beginning to back track and catch up a little at a time on these scripture challenges.  I would love for my book to be complete by the first of the year with this years challenges.  How great would that be?  One thing I know is that "My Digital Studio" is really helping out a lot.  Please check out Patter's post for priority and find the other Words for Scripture Challenge # 2.

This is Word # 19 which is Priority.  As I thought about this word, I decided to look up the meaning of Priority and see what it said.  "Precedence, especially established by order of importance or urgency - Something afforded or deserving prior attention." You can read the full definition on my page.  Precedence, order of importance, wow does that make you think.  Who should precedent in my life and what order of importance should it receive.  That is when I realized I wanted to use the verse I chose which actually is three verses.  Matthew 22:36-38  ....Love the Lord you God with all your heart and with all your soul....  That tells me that my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ should be my first priority each and every day of my life.  If He comes first then everything else seems to fit into place.

Thanks for dropping by on this wonderful Sunday Morning.  Hope you all have a blessed day!

Gratitude

Hope you have all had a wonderful Friday!  I went with my granddaughter to school this morning for grandparents day.  I really had a great time and she did also.  What we do for our grandchildren!

This card was inspired by Fun on Friday at Christian Paper Crafts, Stampin Connection's Technique challenge and stamping 411 sketch challenge.  I love when you can do 3 challenges together.

The technique challenge was to make a defined background paper.  So I used my digital studio to make the background paper.  The reason for using gratitude came from the Fun on Friday challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.  The colors I used for the back ground paper were Cajun Craze and Whisper White for the text.  I then cut it out and adhered it to Naturals White Card stock after attaching the whisper white satin ribbon.  I stamped the image from Because I Care stamp set onto naturals white card stock also and then adhered it to a piece of Cajun craze card stock.  Markers were used for the image.  I used stampin dimensionals to adhere the image portion of the card.

Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think.

Studio Sketches/Thinking of You!

Well everyone it is hump day!  Happy Wednesday to you!  This is a card that was inspired by the sketch and color challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  They really do have some great challenges over there.  Stop by and check them out.  I am sure you will like what you see!

For this sketch, I used Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Old Olive and Riding Hood Red.  The colors we were to use were browns, reds and either white or vanilla and also could add green or orange.  I added the green.

The inked image was stamped in early espresso.  The coloring was done with Stampin' Up! Markers, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive and a mixture of yellows and greens.  I sponged the edge of the paper with early espresso ink also.

The sentiment came from my all time favorite sentiment stamp set "Teeny Tiny Wishes."  I use it all the time.  Once I finished the card, I spritzed it with with the Log Cabin smooch spritz.  As always, I am loving that smooch spritz.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Stamping 411 challenge/In Colors

Good Monday Afternoon all!  Hope you are having a great start to your week.  This card was inspired by the stamping 411 sketch challenge this week and also at Late Night Stampers we were to use our in-colors.  So that is where the colors came from.  And, what an easy card it was to make.

As you can see the in color that I used as the background was the pear pizzaz.  I just love that color.  Such a rich green color.  The designer series paper that I used was the Sunny Garden which has 3 of the in-colors in it.  They are Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait and the Pear Pizzaz.  I also used the new dotted scallop ribbon border punch.  That is going to be a great punch.

Thanks so much for looking and please let me know what you think by leaving a comment.

Tag Box or Jewelry Box for Christmas

How cute is this?  Good Sunday Morning to you.  I was hoping to post this yesterday, but was cleaning and never got to post.  But thought I would do it prior to getting ready for church this morning.

I used a little box like this to give my hostess last month "A Box of Tags."  She just loved it, so I decided to make another box and this is pretty close to hers.  I just have not made any more tags to add and when I do, I may re post with the tags.  I have had some to ask me for the dimensions of this box, so following is how I made the box.  So easy!

I cut two pieces of 6 X 6 card stock.  For the bottom piece of the box, I scored at 1" all the way around.  I cut score line to score line on one side each corner and then the opposite side each corner.  These are the pieces you will fold in and attach with sticky tape.  Once you do this, you will have the bottom of the box complete.  The second piece of card stock I scored at 7/8" all the way around and then cut corners as before and attached again with sticky tape.  Using designer paper cut a piece for the top of the box 4 X 4 and adhere to the top.  For the edge, I cut a strip 12 X 3/4 and another 6 X 3/4 and adhered together and then wrapped around the side of the top of the box.  But a bow around and using the Extra Large decorative label, punch out the sentiment and adhere to the top using pop dots.

Hope you understand what I did!  Please let me know if you have questions and I will try to answer.  If I had time yesterday, I had planned on taking pictures as I did another box, but did not work out.  May do for my next box I make.

Items used for this box:
Grateful Greetings Stamp Set
Old Olive, Whisper White Card Stock
Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink
Jolly Holiday Designer Paper
Extra Large Decorative Label Punch
Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Seam Binding

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!  Thanks for looking.
