Red, White and Blue - Summer Card!

This weeks challenge is Red, White and Blue over at SULateNightStampers and so I decided to do more of a Summer card and after looking at the Stamping 411 sketch this week, this is what I came up with!

The sketch was just perfect for these flip flops and I am so glad I decided to use it!  I just stamped them in Real Red and then colored them in by using markers and water color pencils.  The sentiment was made in my digital studio by using the brush stamp set called "Fourth of July".  I lightened the fireworks by lowering the Opacity and then using the text added the Summer Fun, printed it out and then punched it out using the 1 1/4" punch.  Easy Peasy!!

Here is a close up of the flip flops:

So now I have two challenges in one card!  Love it when a plan falls into place!

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set: Sunny Fun
Digital Stamp Set: 4th of July
Card Stock: Real Red, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Old SU Paper Stacks
Classic Ink: Real Red
Embellishments: Pearls, Rhinestones, 1 1/4" Punch, 1 3/8" Punch, Scallop Round Punch

Thanks for looking!

Sneak Peak -Pennant Parade and Punch!

After having all my new stuff for 2 weeks, I was finally able to play with it yesterday and thought I would share.  With this card, I used the new stamp set called Pennant Parade and the new punch called Petite Pennants Builder Punch.  I also used the embedded embossing techniques which I do love!  It is another way of making your own designer paper.  Such a cool technique!  Also the designer paper that is punched out, is new and is called Just Add Cake!  Really cute paper and I am sure you will see bigger pieces of it as I have time to create more!

Here is a little different angle of the card, so you can see all the detail!  Now I did use two embossing folders which are current.

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set: Pennant Parade (new)
Card Stock: Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Whisper White, Peach Parfait
Designer Paper: Just Add Cake (new)
Classic Ink: Wild Wasabi
Embellishments: White Baker's Twine, Petite Pennants Builder Punch (new), Rhinestones, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder

Thanks so much for looking and have a great Monday!

Anything goes!

This weeks challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs Blog is "Anything Goes!"  So I decided to use this new stamp set called Serve the Lord.  I just love this set and it is so diverse.

I also had some extra cut outs laying around from a card we had done at our workshop a couple of months ago and decided to use them and make the card round.  That really made it easy.  So here is my submission for this weeks challenge!

All I really had to do with this card since most was already cut out was to stamp the image, ruffle the ribbon, stamp the sentiment and then I actually added Champagne Mist shimmer paint and the rhinestones.  So, so easy!

Here is the inside of the card which actually shows other verses and sentiments that go with the one stamp set!

Items used for this card:

ODBD stamp set: Serve the Lord

All the rest is Stampin' Up!
Card Stock: Early Espresso, Rose Red, Sahara Sand,
Classic Ink: Rose Red
Embellishments: Markers for coloring, Rhinestones, Scallop Circle bigz Die, 3" Circle Original Die, Circles #2 Originals Die, 1/2" Rose Red Seam binding Ribbon, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!

FUN ON FRIDAY Challenge - Embedded Embossing

Today I am hosting the Fun On Friday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts and boy did I have fun with this challenge.  Here is my write up for the post!

You are altogether beautiful, my darling, And there is no blemish in you. Song of Solomon 4:7
Today's Fun On Friday Challenge is to make a card, scrapbook page, altered item what ever you would like, but you need to use the Embedded Embossing Technique on your project. And, you ask, What is the Embedded Embossing Technique?

The Embedded Embossing Technique is where you can take paper flowers, paper hearts, paper stars, paper circles - or anything punched (flowers, hearts, stars, circles) - glue them to a piece of card stock and then using an embossing folder and big shot (cuddlebug or whatever type machine you have) embedd it into the card stock forming a type of background. It is really fun to do and can make some wonderful creations.

Here is my sample!

Here is a side view of the card!

And here is a close up!

So I used the new Triple Layer Punch called the "3 step Doily" and I am loving both of the Triple Layer punches.  So I punched out quite a few of these and adhered them to the whisper white card stock and then I put it through the big shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I then ran it through the big shot again using the Top Note Die for the end result you see above!

So as you work on your project think about how beautiful you are in the site of our Lord, start getting your paper and punches together and let the beauty within you come out in this project. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

When uploading to the Christian Paper Crafts gallery please use keyword FOF111 and when uploading to other online galleries or your blog, please use keyword CPC-FOF111. You are also welcome to link your project to the Christian paper Crafts Creative Blog, Fun On Friday post at the bottom.

Hope to see a lot of links!  Thanks for looking!

Copy That Scrapbook Challenge

I am the host for the "Copy That" scrapbook challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts!  This is my challenge for this month and following is my post at CPC for this challenge!

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails; 1 Corinthians 13:4-8b

OK everyone it is time for our "Copy That" Scrapbook challenge where we again will get some inspiration from the advertisement gurus. The ad attached, captured my attention and I hope it will capture yours. Let this advertisement inspire you, whether you are inspired by the sketch design, the colors, or any of the elements or shapes, use the ad to scrap your own layout. Please tell us how you were inspired when you post your layout.
Here is a copy of the advertisement!

I was inspired by the layout. And I loved how it had a main focus on one photo and you could fill in with the other three photos. Of course I made it my own by using only part of the ad as my inspiration. That is what this challenge is all about is making the ad you see in front of you your own design. So I hope you will let this ad inspire you as I did!

This is my Page and also what inspired the scripture verse that I used for this challenge!

My daughter got married 3 weeks ago and I wanted a page that brought my daughter, her daughter and her new husband together as a family!  And this seemed to describe it very well!

Now it is your turn to see how this ad inspires you!  Can't wait to see how you use this advertisement in a layout of your own. It is all about enjoying what you do, so get that paper out, or get your computer out for the digital page and have some fun! You will be glad you did!

Please use the keyword CT10 when uploading your layouts to the gallery at Christian Paper Crafts or CPC-CT10 when posting to another gallery.  Also remember that you can link your creation to the bottom of the Copy That challenge post over at the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog!

I am also using this for our Sweet Summertime Blog Hop!  Please join us in our blog hop!  Details on this link!

Just Chillin - Sweet Summertime Blog Hop

Today is our Sweet Summertime Blog Hop over at Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.  I am really excited about summertime and am also excited about the layout I did for the hop!  All you have to do to join us is submit your entry by linking it to the bottom of the Sweet Summertime Blog Post.  I would put the direct link here, but I am pre-posting this to come off on Wednesday the 22nd since I am on vacation.  And if I get the time, I may put the link in!

This page was inspired by the wonderful sketch from our dear Molly over at Christian Paper Crafts.  This is the sketch Molly created for her Simple Blueprints Challenge yesterday.  As soon as I saw it, I knew the photos I would be using.  It just seemed to really match the scene that I needed to create for the photos!

So without further ado, here is my scrapbook layout for this sketch!

Now isn't my grandson just the cutest thing.  He was just so tired when they came over and when they put him in the pool he just laid his head on the float and just floated around for the longest time.  Of course grammy had to take about 20 photos of him laid out and relaxing! lol  He would just keep smiling when you talked to him, but he would not lift his head!

Anyway, if you would like to participate in this challenge and show us what you came up with, you can link your page to the Simple Blueprints Scrapbook Challenge Post over on the Christian Paper Crafts Creative blog, and if you would like to participate in the blog hop link your project to the Sweet Summertime blog hop.  For the sketch you can link to the gallery at
Christian Paper Crafts also and use the keyword SB14.

This was all done by using Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio!

Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a fabulous day!

Here is a side view!

Well now that I have shown you what you can do with this sketch, you may want to check out the sketch for yourself and see what you come up with!  Now back to my packing before I get really behind!  And, I also need to take Roscoe to the Kennel before 12:00 noon.  That I am not looking forward to!  Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

Fun On Friday Challenge - Use some sparkle

Yes, it is Friday again and today Robyn is the host for this weeks Fun On Friday over at Christian Paper Crafts.  So here is Robyn's write up!

Zechariah 9:17 15 and the LORD Almighty will shield them. They will destroy
and overcome with slingstones. They will drink and roar as with wine; they will be full like a bowl used for sprinkling the corners of the altar. 16 The LORD their God will save his people on that day as a shepherd saves his flock. They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown. 17 How attractive and beautiful they will be!

The Lord is good to shield us. He will save his people, just look into the Word, it is a constant theme inside! "Sprinkling" brings on a variety of thoughts. The first is watching my Mom when I was small. She used to take in laundry/ironing to bring a little extra income. She would stand and sprinkle the cloths to dampen them before ironing. The extra work caused the shirts to press up so perfect, and the aroma was so fresh!
God is like that, sprinkling to freshen! So grateful for saving grace. It is exciting to be like jewels in a crown! Think of it, sparkling as the sun/son reflects in our lives.

This week, I encourage you to sprinkle a little embossing powder over your background paper, set it from the back.  Or perhaps some spray glitter, or glitter glue. It comes in all fancy packaging, or in the school supply isle. No supplies for sparkle, look about your house. Do you have some glitter?  I am certain your imagination will take you to a product to add some sparkle to your creation this week!

So here is my project and yes, I did add sparkle and some rhinestones per Robyn's direction.

Here is a side view of the card!  You really can't see the glitter as well as I would have liked but all in all, I do like the outcome.

Here is a close up of the top roses I made and here you can see the glitter and the sparkle from the rhinestones.

And, here is a front view of the whole card!  By the way is this not a cute image!  I just love this image!

So now it is your turn to join in on the fun with our Fun on Friday challenge this week at Christian Paper Crafts.  You can link your creation by going to our Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog and linking under the Fun On Friday Challenge Post or you can link in the Christian Paper Crafts gallery.  If you do that, please use keyword FOF110 and if you add to any other galleries on line, please use keyword CPC-FOF110.

Go ahead, add a little sparkle to the project of the day!

Stampin' Up! Workshop Samples

For my workshop, stamp club, this month I decided to do a clean and simple card - if you can call paper piercing clean and simple!lol  Anyway, this is what we will be doing tonight.

What really made this card stand out to me was the flowers and the leaves that I used, but not only that, what I used to make them stand out.  We actually had embossing powder in our summer mini in the colors of Wild Wasabi and Melon Mambo which I used on this card!  Wish you could see it up close and personable because it really does shine with the embossing.  We had not done any heat embossing for a long time and I thought after seeing these in the summer mini it was a perfect time to show this technique again.

Now for our second project, I am going to show them how to make these gorgeous little roses!

Are they not the best!  I am just loving them and if you look through the last week of all of my cards you will see just how much I am loving them.  They are so easy and can really brighten up a project!

And finally, what was it that those little roses were on?  Well this is what I will be giving the hostess tonight for doing the workshop in her home.

How sweet is that?  My daughter has been saving all the larger baby food jars for me and so what I did was add the roses onto the jar and added about 10 pre-made roses to the inside in different sizes for my hostess.  I also made one for myself!  They were just too cute!

All items used are Stampin' Up!

Card ingredients:
Stamp Sets: Just Believe, Printed Petals, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock: Confetti Cream
Ink:  Versamark and Melon Mambo
Accessories: Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi Embossing powder, round scallop punch, paper piercer and mat pack, melon mambo marker

Altered Baby Jar Ingredients:
Card Stock: Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Rose Red, Whisper White: Accessories: 1 1/4", 1 3/8", 1 3/4", 2 1/2" circle punches, extra large bird punch for leaves.

Hope you like what you saw and please let me know what you think!  Thanks for looking today.

Best Wedding Ever

As most of you know, my daughter got married about two weeks ago!  You will probably see quite a few more pages come through prior to me getting everything ready to send out for her wedding book.  I plan on doing most of them using My Digital Studio and then having them printed professionally.  But this is one that I decided to do of my youngest granddaughter (GD) who had a blast at the wedding and even told her Aunt Erin, "This is the best wedding ever!"  My youngest GD is 6 and yes she has been a part of 4 weddings in her 6 years and this was the fifth!  My oldest GD asked me if my youngest GD was in her mother's wedding (Oldest GD was in her moms this time) and I said no, she was not even thought about when her mother got married."  What these little kids think up is too much for me.  But then I guess you could say, she was in her mother's wedding this time.  OK enough babble about my dear sweet GD's!

Anyway, when I saw this sketch from Christian Paper Crafts, I knew I would be using it as part of the wedding scrapbook and finally after about 3 weeks, here it is.

In the 1st, 2nd and 4th picture from the top down, she is with Papa dancing!  In the 3rd picture down she is with the bride (her Aunt) dancing and in the last picture on the left she is with her Dad dancing.  I can not believe she was up there for every dance except the bride and groom dance, Father and Daughter dance and the Son and Mother dance.  Could not keep her or my other GD off the floor!  So much fun she had.

You can find the sketch here on the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog!

All items used for this page are from My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up!

Thanks for looking and hope you all have a fabulous day!

Stamping 411 sketch meets Beyond The Garden DSP

What a great sketch from Stamping 411 this week!  It was so easy to put together this card, but yet in the end, I loved the result.  The one thing I did that I would change is heating the paper and ribbon after I spritzed it with vanilla shimmer smooch.  I could not wait for it to dry and it kind of melted the ends of the ribbon.  But I don't think anyone would notice that but me and of course now you since I have told you what happened. LOL

Anyway, this paper "Beyond the Garden" by Stampin' Up! is such a great paper and I wanted a card that would highlight the paper.  So this sketch seemed to do just that!  The little rosettes do help though and I just love them.  I will actually be showing my SU workshop how to make them on Thursday evening!

Here is a close up of the rosettes and sentiment!  Here is a great video on how to make these darling flowers!

The pearls seemed to add just the right mixture to the sentiment.

Here is another front view of the card!

You can even see a little of the shimmer that covers the whole card with this view!

Items Used for this card are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Set: Oval All
Card Stock: Textured Whisper White, Whisper White (for flowers), Old Olive (for leaves)
Designer Series Paper: Beyond the Garden
Ink: Marina Mist
Punches: 1 3/8" circle, 1 3/4" circle (circle punches for flowers), scallop oval, extra large bird (leaves)
Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon

Our Refuge!

When I saw the challenge for Clean and Simple today at Christian Paper Crafts, I thought I have to do that one.  You can find the post for it at Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog here!  I just love the write up that Marsha used, but we were to use the tearing technique and that is exactly what I did.  I also used this weeks "The Sweet Stop" sketch challenge also.  I saw the sketch and knew that it would work well with what I planned on doing for this card.

So without further ado, here is my card!

As you can see I bordered the sentiment by tearing the paper.  The reason for this was because that is what the clean and simple challenge is, "to tear some paper!"  I also made the flowers by punching out a circle and cutting the circle in a spiral and then rolling it.  Here is a great video of how this is done!

Here is a close up of the flowers!

Are they not the cutest little roses!  I am loving making them.

Here is a close up of the tearing along with the flowers!

All Items used are Stampin' Up! except for the stamp set which is Sweet N Sassy!

Stamps: SNS Our Refuge
Card Stock: SU Daffodil Delight, SU Pretty in Pink, SU Melon Mambo
Ink: SU Melon Mambo, SU Daffodil Delight
Accessories: 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Melon Mambo Ribbon, Extra Large Bird Punch, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz
Technique: Sponging and Tearing

Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a wonderful rest of your Saturday!  Blessings to all of you!

Fun On Friday - Make Your Own Designer Paper

Today I am hosting the Fun On Friday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts and I am so excited about this one.  It is always fun for me to make my own Designer Paper.  So here is my write up for today's challenge.
Everyone who is called by My name, And whom I have created for My glory, Whom I have formed, even whom I have made." Isaiah 43:7

So today's Fun On Friday Challenge is to make a card, scrapbook page, altered item whatever you desire, but you will need to create your own Designer Paper for your project. And as you create your special designed paper think about how our Lord created you/us for His glory. So glorify Him as you spend time paper crafting today and let your imagination soar. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

When uploading to our galleries over at Christian Paper Crafts please use keyword FOF109 and when uploading to other online galleries or your blog, please use keyword CPC-FOF109.

Here is what I came up with!

This card was also inspired by this weeks sketch challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  Now let's look at the card and the paper I made together!

With this you can actually see how the shimmer spritz really shimmered the card.  But you can also see how I did the designer paper.  All the flowers and leaves are actually embossed by stamping with versamark and then covering the image with embossing powder.  And, I love the new embossing powders - Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi.  It really just brightened up the paper.

Now for a look at the paper close up!

Isn't this just great!  Sponged in between everything when I had finished embossing all the flowers and leaves.  I just love making my own paper!

So now it is your turn to make your own Designer Paper and join us today at Christian Paper Crafts to show us what you came up with.  You can also share on our creative blog!

Stamps:: Curvy Verses, Printed Petals, Just Believe
Card Stock:: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi
Designer Paper:: Hand Stamped
Ink:: Wild Wasabi for sponging, Rose Red, Versamark
Accessories:: Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, Decorative Label Punch, Pearls, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Embossing Powders - tangerine tango, melon mambo, wild wasabi
Technique:: heat embossing, sponging, dry embossing

Have a wonderful Friday!

Design Team Delights Sneak Peak CPC

Today starts our Sneak Peaks at Christian Paper Crafts for our Design Team Delights for June which opens on June 15th.  June's Theme is Sweet Summertime and boy is that gallery filling up with some awesome samples.

Here is my sneak peak for this sweet summertime theme!  You may have seen this before, but you have not seen the inside.

This was a sketch I got from the Stamping 411 sketch Saturday!  The one thing about this card that I did not mention last time is that I have made a special gift bag to go with it, but you can only see it in the Christian Paper Crafts Design Team Delights Gallery.

Now to show the inside of this card!

I just think this verse goes so well with this retirement card.  "Rest" and that is what I plan to do once I do retire which may be years from now.  Anyway, hope you like my sneak peak and please check out our Creative blog for more sneak peaks as we go through the next four days!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Serve the Lord

I loved this sketch so much from Card Positioning Systems that I decided to use it again.  I got a new stamp set today from Our Daily Bread Designs and this is what I came up with using the sketch!

What really inspired it was the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  You can read more about it on the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog here!  You were to make a project to encourage someone.  So this is the card I made.  Of course with Bible Verse Thursday you have to use a Bible verse and this is the inside of the card and is using the same stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Also I took a picture of the front view of the card!

Stamp set was from Our Daily Bread Designs called Serve the Lord

All other items are Stampin' Up!

Card Stock: Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Water Color Paper, Tangerine Tango
Designer Paper: Paisley Petals (New Catalog on July 1st)

Flight of the Butterfly

Good Wednesday Morning to all of you out there!  Last week Wednesday Case Artist at Christian Paper Crafts was none other than my co-host for Fun on Friday, Robyn.  Well today they have a new artist up, but I could not let the week finish without casing my friend Robyn. So, this is a card I did last night and posted at Christian Paper Crafts to honor Robyn.  The one thing I like about the challenges at CPC is that there is no deadline, you can go back as many times as you want.  So thank you Robyn for inspiring me to do this card.  I was happy with the out come.
Now here is a close up of this card and it shows the embossing that I did on the butterfly and the sentiment that goes along with the butterfly.  I can say that I am loving that embossing powder in the new summer mini.  You will see some more of it this coming Friday when I post my Fun on Friday this week.

My Stampin' Up! items used list:

Ink: Pretty in Pink, Versamark

Wedding Card!

Since June is for weddings, I decided to turn this card into a wedding card!  I actually was inspired by two challenges at Christian Paper Crafts.  The first challenge was Saturday's Clean and Simple Challenge where you were to use a verse on your card.  And the second challenge was today's Color Monday Challenge where I used an inspiration photo to pull the colors from.  You can see the color inspiration photo on our Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.  I just love using embossing folders and this embossing folder just kept calling my name to use water coloring on it.  So I pulled out my Aqua Painter and went to town.  I guess the Aqua Painter was feeling very lonely because it is not used very often. LOL
Items used on this card are:

Springtime Vintage

Wow, It has been some week here and I am so glad that it is Sunday!  For some reason going to church is so refreshing to me and I need all the refreshing I can get right now.
This is a card that I did last evening after I played in the pool with the grand kids.  I just needed a card that I could relax doing and this is what came from it.  The inspiration was actually inspired by two challenges over at Our Daily Bread Designs Blog!  The first was the sketch from the challenge last week, which has expired, and then this weeks challenge is to do a card with no image.  So I just used a bible verse.  And what better verse than this: Not to let our heart be troubled but to trust in our Lord!  I don't know about you, but there are a lot of times I need to repeat this verse.  I have always come through by knowing that God will take care of what ever the circumstance may be.

Here is the inside of the card!

Fun On Friday Challenge - Graduation, Father's Day, Weddings

Good Friday Morning to everyone!  I co-host the Fun on Friday with Robyn over at Christian Paper Crafts and today Robyn is hosting.  Here is what Robyn had to say!

Proverbs 24 verse 3:By wisdom a house is built and through understanding it is established. And in verse 5: through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.

June traditionally brings many events. Fathers day, graduations, weddings. All of these events are based on acquiring of knowledge. Our heavenly Father is the giver of wisdom. My earthly father is a wise man. My husband with whom I build my house, is full of grace for me as well! The rare and beautiful treasures include the memories we gather as we walk through this world, together.

Today I encourage you to make a project for a dad, grad, or anyone else using images of houses, or an owl, or any other thoughts the Lord reveals to you as you ponder this verse.

This is my sample for this weeks challenge.  I decided to go with the owl and instead of graduation, I went with a thank you for a teacher.  This weeks challenge at SULateNightStampers was to make a card or gift for a teacher.  So I combined this with that challenge also.

Here is the inside of this card!

To see what Robyn used as her sample you can check it out at Christian Paper Crafts or Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.  I also combined this with Bible Verse Thursday at Christian Paper Crafts also.  And, I used a sketch from Got Sketch!  Check them out, they have scrapbook page sketches also.
