Tear Into It - Paper Tearing Technique

Today's challenge at Latenightstampers is to create a card, scrapbook page, or project using paper tearing. This used to be all the rage and it really adds interest to your cards and samples.  So today, I used one of my all time favorite stamps to create this card for "Tear into it" challenge.

I just love the tearing on a card.  It can dress it up or it can dress it down, according to what you want.  I think with this card, it dressed it up a bit.

Here is a close up of this wonderful greeting and the flowers!

For this card today, I used all Stampin' Up! Items.

Stamp Sets: Field Flowers, Four Frames, Blessings from Heaven
Card Stock: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Designer Paper: (Printed by using My Digital Studio) Crumb Cake Text
Classic Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Garden Green
Embellishments: 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon Rich Razzleberry, Decorative Label Punch

Christmas Planners

Good morning dear friends!  I thought I would share another project I am doing for the bazaar that we are planning on having at our church on November 5th.  Yesterday I shared a pack of Christmas Cards I will be putting in the bazaar and today I am sharing some Christmas Planners I am putting in the bazaar.

These planners are made with some Composition books measuring 4 1/2 X 3 1/4.  I used some retired Christmas paper for these projects, and used My Digital Studio to make the tag sentiments for them.  I then punched out the "Christmas Planner" sentiment with the Large Oval punch and then punched out the Glimmer Red paper with the scallop oval punch.  I thought It really went well with both of the books that I have put together so far.  I will be doing more with these little books and also some larger one.  And, again I used the Stocking Builder Punch with one of the Christmas Planners.  I am going to love that punch during the next few months.

So here are the planners!

How cute are these little books?  I just love them.

Please let me know what you think and thanks so much for stopping by!

Stocking Builder Punch

Well good Sunday Morning to everyone.  I have been busy this weekend sitting and working some in my stamp room since I could not do much else with Hurricane Irene coming in.  I was without electricity for about 8 hours, but was able to sit near a window with the blinds open and see well enough to get some stamping done.  Also we will be having a Bazaar at our church on November 5th, so I am working on some cards and other things that I can sell and show during this time.  Following is a card I did for Christmas and used some retired paper that I had left over from last year, but used a new punch that will be available on September 1st.

How cute is that!

Also here is how I will package them and some of the same designer paper, but the back side!

I just think it looks better to be able to view them even in the package.  I do love these cute little packages and need to order some more.

Altered Candy Jar for Dad!

Hello everyone!  Thought I would share a birthday present I did for my dad!  First of all you need to know that my dad has Alzheimer's and does not recognize his family anymore except on rare occasions.  But for some reason he still loves candy!  So I was trying to make sure I got him something that would make an impact.  He also turned 80 this birthday and we are so thankful that he is still with us!

I went to the store and saw this Rubbermaid jar and thought that would be great for candy.  All you need to do is just add a little something to it and it will make a pretty jar to sit on a bedside table or counter.  So I grabbed the jar along with some different packs of candy and went home.

After I started looking at it, the only thing I could think to do was to add a ribbon and a tag for sweets.  So that is exactly what I did.  I think it turned out great and he acted as though he loved it.  When I started to take it away from him so he could open another present, he held it close and looked at me like, "you are not getting my candy."  We all had a laugh over that and I told him I was just sitting it to the side so he could open more goodies!

Here is what it looks like from the front angle.

Items used were for Ribbon and tag are all Stampin' Up!
Stamp Set: Tagtastics (hostess set)

LOVE Each Other!

Well it is Tuesday and I thought I would post this before I headed out to work this morning.  Finished it up last night, but was too tired to post.

This card was inspired by the sketch over at our Daily Bread Designs Blog.  It was a wonderful sketch this week and as soon as I saw it I knew I would use it.  I did change it from a square card to a A2 card as I seem to always navigate that way.  I love this scripture and just finished up a Bible study on Love.  We would have a much better world if we loved one another as God intended!

Also received this beautiful paper last week and had not had time to use it yet and boy am I going to love it.

CPC Back to School Blog Hop!

Good Monday and welcome to this months Christian Paper Crafts Blog Hop.  Our theme this month is Back to School.  This corresponds with this month Design Team Delights Gallery which opened on the 15th of August and wow, what great talent is over at Christian Paper Crafts!

I would like to share with you the cards I made for this challenge.  They are basically the same except for the size of the "My Digital Studio" (MDS) stamps that I put on them.  I actually wanted to do one before I did the other just to see the final outcome and for some reason, I did not save the template I did from the first one, so the size of the stamps on the green are different.  Oh well, they both turned out wonderful.  The cards are Hybrid as I put the stamps on a 8 1/2 X 11 landscape in MDS and then made them the size I needed to be able to punch out with the 1" round punch and the 1 1/4" round punch.  Also on the same sheet, I put the size of the card, 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 peice of card stock in the old olive so I could place the stamps on the green card stock and also print it out together.  Of course as you can see on the card, I then cut it to the size I needed it.  I thought it turned out very well since the only place I had this stamp set was in MDS.  Also thanks to Stamping 411 for the sketch.  It worked out wonderful for these cards.  They actually have two sketches for this week and I have used both.  The cards will be sent to school with my Dear Granddaughter's on their first day of school this Thursday signed by Grammy and Papa!

Here is the 1st Grader's!

And, here is the 3rd graders!

Here is both of them together!

Color Monday Challenge

Well hello my dear web friends.  I don't know if I told you, but I am now taking over the color Monday challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.  We only have one every six weeks, but that just gives me a lot of time to become more creative.  Here is what I had to say for my Color Monday Post over at CPC!

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colors. Genesis 37:3

Hello my fellow paper crafters! It's time for another Color Monday challenge to help you get started in your paper crafting for this week, actually for the next 6 weeks.

I chose this wonderful patio beach scene which really made me feel so peaceful and thought this is the perfect photo inspiration for this time of year. It also reminded me of what Joseph's coat must have looked like.

Now you can choose as many colors as you like from the photo or from the colors I chose to create a project of your choosing. You can be inspired by just one color or several. The choice is yours!

Create anything you like using the colors or the photo as your starting point. All types of projects are welcome including cards, ATC's, tags, altered items, scrapbook pages, etc. Also, there is no deadline for the challenge so you may play at your convenience or when the inspiration hits. You will have until October 1st to link your project to the CPC Creative Blog, so don't forget to do that.

Now here is the card I created using the above inspiration photo!

This was so simple to do and I love this paper.  It just seemed to blend right in with the inspiration photo.

Here is a close up!

This closeup also shows the shimmer that I added to the card!

Here is one more view!

Hope you will join us this week for our Color Monday Challenge!

Please use the keywords CM116 when uploading your projects to the gallery at Christian Paper Crafts. If you upload to your blog or other online gallery please use the keywords CPC-CM116. Also, don't forget to go to the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog and link your project there.

Also, today starts our Blog Hop over at our Christian Paper Crafts Creative blog for the August Theme of Back to School.  I have made a really cute project for that also.  So stop by again later to see what I did.

Here are the items I used for this card!  All items are Stampin' Up!

Christmas in August

Good Saturday Morning to you!  Wanted to share this last night but was so tired, I could not think to write the post, so here it is bright and early Saturday!  Stamping 411 has not just one great sketch this week, but two great sketches and they are also offering a prize this week.

The card I am showcasing today is of course using one of the stamping 411 sketches and the new specialty designer paper that is in the new Stampin' Up! holiday mini.  I was not sure of how I would like this designer paper, but I think it turned out wonderful for this card and a wonderful way to use the paper to showcase it.  I also used the new Dazzling Details that is in the holiday mini.  I am not sure I like what it did to the ink, but it does look better in person.  So I will use it again.  I guess you could say this card is a preview of what is in the mini as I also used the new Cherry Cobbler 3/8" quilted satin ribbon.  BEAUTIFUL!  Until I started this post did not realize what all I had used! LOL

Here is another view of the card!

I love taking different views as you get great detail from each view.

Now to the inside of the card!

How great is this?  Don't forget to do the insides of the card.  It really makes a difference.

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Sets: Word Play (front), The Sounding Joy (inside and in holiday mini)
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip
Classic Ink: Chocolate Chip (inside)
Designer Series Paper: Specialty Holly Berry Bouquet
Embellishments: Cherry Cobbler 3/8" Quilted Satin Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch, Dazzling Details

Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!

August Workshop Samples/Hostess Gift

Hello Everyone!  Last Night we had our August workshop and of all things, I left the fancy flower punch at home.  So I will be getting everyone the flowers so they can add to their little boxes we put together last night.

But, we will start with our card that we did for the workshop!

I posted another card like this last week and I am loving this stamp set and this technique.  Actually I used two techniques on this card.  I embossed the stems and leaves.  But the one technique I am loving the most and I think they all enjoyed it last night is using the clear blocks to stamp a background on your card.  The colors I used for this card and the workshop last night are Pool Party for the over all and then ran the edges of the clear block onto the Baja Breeze to give it a deeper frame effect.  Of course you then just use the block as a stamp and this is what you get.  The stamp set we used is called Field Flowers and isn't that just the best flower set.  I loved it from the time I saw it in the catalog!

We also made a box last night and as I said before, I forgot to bring the fancy flower punch, so they punched all the other items out, but did not put the flower on.  I will be getting everyone their flowers as soon as possible. eek!!!!!

Also for their boxes, I let them use the wild wasabi card stock for the leaves because it matched the embossed image on the card.  There are times when you finish something and you think, oh my I should have used this.

Here is the set of what we worked on together.

And, now let me show you what I made for the hostess thank you gift.

This is a set of 5 cards, each one made a little different using some retired SU Designer Series Paper.  I used the new hostess stamp set called Tagtastic.  It actually has 6 sentiments, the reason for the 5 cards and one box.

Here are the all the cards.

Well that does it for this workshop!  I hope you all have enjoyed looking at what we did.  Thanks for stopping by!

Not So Seriously

Not So Seriously is a new stamp set from Stampin' Up! and I can just see me using this set quite often.  It has some of the cutest sentiments.

The card I made for the post today is for a girl in the School of Nursing who we are saying farewell to and this is the card I made for us to all sign.  I used a sketch (an older sketch from June) from Christian Paper Crafts to make this card!  You can find the sketch here.  And here is the card!

And the inside!

Isn't this the cutest sentiment.  I fell in love with it right away!

Here is a close up of the outside!

I knew she would like all the elements and since it would not be mailed, I made it a 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 so there would be plenty of room to sign on the inside.  She will get it tonight at the going away dinner and I so hope she likes it.

Here is what the set looks like and it is called Not So Seriously!
Items used in this card are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

Stamp Set: Not So Seriously
Card Stock: Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Just Add Cake
Classic Ink: Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
Accessories: Wild Wasabi Ribbon, Round punch for flowers, Recollections rhinestones

Happiest Birthday Wishes

Today our challenge at SULateNightStampers is to case one of the members from the gallery.  So I chose to case Lori Mueller.  Here is Lori's Card!

I just fell in love with this card!  So now here is my version!

OK, so what I did was change the color of the green to wild wasabi.  I also used the pink as a background to the stamped image, changed the ribbon to yellow and I changed the sentiment.  I love to do a case and just change it up a bit.  Beautiful work Lori and thanks so much for the inspiration.

Here is a close up!

I am unsure of the punches Lori used for her flowers, but I used the Boho Blossoms punch to make mine.

Quilting and embossing Techniques

Hello all and welcome to another Fun On Friday at Christian Paper Crafts.  We are only doing this challenge every 6 weeks now and it is finally time.  Even though I am not the host for Fun On Friday any more, I just love doing it and actually had this one scheduled prior to deciding to move to the Color Monday hostess.  Anyway, the Fun On Friday Challenge is to do the quilting technique.  Another fun challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is the Bible Verse Thursday and this weeks theme is "God taking care of our Future".  So I always feel that when we call upon our Lord, he will take care of our future.

I also did this card for the Stamping In Time Challenge over at Our Daily Designs blog.  That challenge was to use embossing on your card.  I actually used two embossing.  I embossed the sentiment and then used an embossing folder for the background.  Without further ado, here is the card!

This is a little above my normal card which is a little more simple, but for some reason once I got started with this card, I could not stop!  I do like the turnout though, but now I can see why I do more of the CAS cards.  Took me forever to finish this card.

Here is a close up!

OK, so here is the supply list for this card!

Card Stock: SU Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, More Mustard, Lucky Limeaide

Field Flowers

Hello again, and welcome to my two technique card using "heat embossing" and creating a background using an acrylic block ("acrylic block stamped background") or in my case SU Clear Mount blocks.  I am casing myself on this card and you can see the one I did before here using a different stamp set. And, you will be seeing another one cased from this one at sometime in the near future!  I am loving this technique of acrylic stamped background!  One thing I can say is they turn out differently each time.

The challenge this week for SULateNightStampers was to do a "Thinking of you" card with a heard you are "blue" aspect to it.  That means there needs to be some blue in your card!  So as you can see, I add a little blue by stamping the background in Marina Mist with a little touch of Island Indigo around the edges.  I also stamped the top flower on Whisper White card stock, cut it out and popped it up to give a little more dimension to the card!  Very simple, but nice.  The stems and leaves are embossed using the Wild Wassabi embossing powder!

Side view of the card!

Close up of the card!

Items used are all Stampin' Up! and listed below!

Stamp Set: Field Flowers
Card Stock: Whisper White
Ink: Marina Mist, Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, Versamark

First Day of Kindergarten Scrapbook Page

Today starts our Design Team Delights "Gracious Glimpses" over at Christian Paper Crafts.  These gracious glimpses will give you a little insight into what will be in our DTD gallery over at CPC this month.  The theme for the month is "Back to School," so I chose a wonderful subject - my dear granddaughter who started kindergarten last year and I am just now scrapping her "first day" page!

For this page, I used "MDS" (My Digital Studio) by Stampin' Up!  It is such a great digital program and I just love the ease in using it.  This page actually came together very quickly once I decided how I wanted it set up!  My daughter took about 4 photos and these were the best two I could get.  So that is why I chose a two page layout.

To see more of our Gracious Glimpses prior to the 15th, please go to our CPC Creative Blog for at least 2 to three glimpses each day!  You will see some amazing paper crafting if you do!

Following are the items I used in "MDS!"

Stamp Set: Schoolbook serif alphabet, School Days

Card Stock: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzaz
Designer Series Paper: Celebrations
Embellishments: Pear Pizzaz ribbon, pearl, Eyelet border punch, curly labels punch, star punch

Stamping 411 sketch meets Lean On Me

I am loving this stamp set and loving the fact that you can actually use the sentiment that goes with one image with another image!  Versatility, that is what I like.  And, just received this new paper and was so excited to be able to use it with this card!  I think this can cheer up anyone, don't you!

What actually inspired this card was this weeks sketch challenge over at Stamping 411!  I just love their sketches.  You can make them clean and simple or you can dress them up some so to speak!  So I dressed mine up a little this time.  Also SUO Challenge this week is to use your favorite new stamp set, so this is it for right now.  I wish my picture had of turned out better, but there are just times you can't get it right and this was one of those times.

All supplies are Stamping up!

Classic Ink: Calypso Coral, Soft Suede

Fabulous Friend

I am loving this card!  It was not that hard to do and yet it looks nice!  What inspired this card was two challenges!  First of all the Wednesday Case Artist Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  The card I cased had a flower where I have an image and a sentiment where I have the bow, but everything else was pretty close!  The second challenge is our challenge over at SULateNightStampers where you are to use your punches this week!  So as you can see I used my 2 3/8" round scallop punch and my 2 1/2" round punch.  Those are the perfect size punches for these images.

Here is a close up!
