Clean & Simple Christmas

It took me a while to decide what to do for this weeks Clean and Simple Sketch, but when I was looking through my Snow Festival Designer Paper and saw this cute little house, it became very clear what I would do.  Isn't it just the cutest little house.  Reminds me of my childhood on the farm with the front porch.  I did add some sparkle to this by using some of the Dazzling details to the snow flakes falling and also to the ornaments on the tree.  And then embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.  Just added a bit of class to the card.  I also used SU Shimmer White card stock for the background as it is a very thick card stock.

Here is the side view!

And also embossed the inside of the card!

A close up of the center of the card so you can see the shimmer and the dazzling details!

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Sets: Four the Holidays, The Sounding Joy (inside)

I am headed to the Dr. this morning and so in hopes that I get this ortho shoe off today and can wear some regular shoes.  I haven't wore a dress in 6 weeks waiting on this. Dresses do not look good with an ortho shoe on!!!!!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and hope your day is blessed!

SU LateNightStampers Challenge / Thanksgiving

Our challenge this week is Thanksgiving at SU LateNightStampers and so I decided to make a change from card to tag.  I had been wanting to make one for a while and this was my chance.  I plan on giving this to a friend with a gift bag who has just helped me out so much.  So I really hope she likes it.  I actually used the backing that comes with the designer paper to keep it packaged neatly for the backside of the tag, so I did some recycling there.  I save all of those just for times like this.

Here is a closer view of the clock!

And the leaves!

And the sentiment!  I was hoping it would show some of the shimmer, but could not get a great shot of it.

Snow Festival

Hello all and happy Sunday evening to you!  This afternoon I did a little stamping and this is one of the cards I made.  It was inspired by the sketch from this weeks Sketch Frenzy Friday.  When I first saw it I thought, that one may be tough.  But as I was going through my paper for another card I did today, I saw this and thought it would be perfect and it was.  The toughest part was the banners and I still am not certain I like all of them.  They are turned out a little different.

Here is a side view of the card!

And of course I did the inside!

SU LateNightStampers Challenge/Mosaic

This weeks challenge at LNS is to do a Mosaic background.  So I used the tutorial at Splitcoaststampers for the faux torn mosaic.  You can find the tutorial here!  It was really easy and after I finished with the technique, I then used glitter and the glue pen to add glitter all around the torn mosaic.  Isn't it just so glittery!  Now what inspired this card was actually the sketch from last Friday at Sketch Frenzy Friday!  I tried to get this done all week and finally finished it last night.  So I guess I am a little late in completing it.

Here is a side view of the card!

You can see a lot more of the glitter from the side view.  Here is a close up!

Love it and now for the inside which is kind of plain!

Well that is my card and hope you like it.

Hymn & Scripture Challenge #14/Take My Life and Let it Be

Wow, been a few days since I was able to post.  It has been a hard week for me, but yesterday I decided I was going to do this page because I needed something to get me out of my "woe am I" frame of mind.  Still struggling, but I know I serve a God who can do all things and can also "work all things out for good to those who love Him." (Romans 8:28)

What a wonderful Hymn this is and a beautiful way to be able to Praise our Lord through song.  As I was thinking about this page, the word consecrate really stood out to me, so I decided to incorporate it into the page.  What is the meaning of consecrate?  1. To make or declare sacred  2. set apart or dedicate to the service of a deity. 3. to devote or dedicate.  That really told me something.  As I have struggled this week, every time I would go into the craft room to craft, I couldn't because I knew I needed to spend that time with the Lord.  So I would just turn off the light.

At all times we have to consecrate ourselves to the Lord.  We have to devote our time and energy to Him and to His word.  And there are times when we feel over whelmed because of unexpected circumstances and this is when we are so thankful that we have consecrated ourselves to the Lord, because then even in the midst of our struggle we can trust that God will work it all out to His Glory!

So yesterday as I worked on this page, I sang this song as my prayer.  Here are the words to the song. As you read this let it be your prayer!

Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise.
Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee.
Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.
Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee.

And here you can hear Chris Tomlin sing it with some added bonus!  Beautiful!

My verse I used for this is Leviticus 11:44, "For I am the Lord your God. You shall therfore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy."

And finally, here is my page!

Don't forget to check out Patter's page as she gives a little more insight to the author of the song and a wonderful devotion besides!  And her page is beautiful!

I am also using this for this weeks Word Art Wednesday Challenge!

My Digital Studio was used to make this page.

Thanks and hope you enjoy the rest of your Thursday.

Trust in the Lord

Hi everyone and Happy Friday to you!  Today I am using the sketch from Our Daily Bread Blog.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to use the stamp at the top of this card, so I just pulled it out and went to work.  And, now I am glad I did.  I am leaving in just a few moments for a trip to Charlotte to be a part of the Women of Faith weekend and this verse just seemed to want to go here.  We are trusting for a wonderful weekend.  Two more inspirations for this card came from this weeks Twist of Faith and also Word Art Wednesday.  Please check those two websites out along with Our Daily Bread Designs Blog.

Here is a side view of the card!

Ornament Keepsakes

Well I am home today with my granddaughter who is sick.  Got some bronchitis gook going on so I am work some from home.  I just had this idea all of a sudden and had to stop and make this card (great way to work from home, but don't worry I am not counting this time toward work).  I saw the sketch on Sunny Challenges and Creations earlier this week and really thought it was interesting, so when I thought today about using the ornament keepsakes it just would not go away and I had to try it.  In my head it looked a lot better, but regardless I still like the outcome.

Clean & Simple - Or is it?

OK, I have another card that I did for this weeks challenge at SU LateNightStampers which is suppose to Clean and Simple, a lot of White!  Well this really was a simple card to make, but does it look like it.  Actually it was inspired by a sketch over at Sketch Frenzy Friday which was a pretty CAS sketch.  And, the card from start to finish only took 20 minutes so that is pretty Simple to me. I really do like this card and love the mixed bunches stamp set along with the punch.

Here is a side view and really shows how the inside had not laid down quite yet because of the embossing on the bottom of the paper.

And the inside also!  I think once it is closed for a while it will not be so wrinkled looking.  But even if it is, it is unique to me and as my daughter says "adds Character."

Christmas Lodge

How cool is this!  When I saw the sketch for this week at Unscripted Sketches, I knew I had to use the stamp set Christmas Lodge and do some sponging.  And, I am so glad I did. I love the look of sponging to make an almost evening scene.  With this one, I used the new in-color midnight muse and it just really made the card.  The ink was chocolate chip for the trees and the house.  I also used my white gel pen to add a little more of the snow feel to the trees.

Here is a side view of the card!

And the inside of the card!

SU LateNightStampers Challenge

Good Monday Morning all and welcome to a new challenge for our LateNightStampers Group.  This  week we are looking at Clean & Simple with lots of White.  Well I am not sure you can say mine is Simple, but you can say that it is Clean and lots of White!  Which it was a very simple card to put together.

Clean and Simple

Clean and Simple has not always been one of my strong suits, but lately I have really enjoyed doing the clean and simple cards.  It must just be my foot healing and me not wanting to sit with it down for the time it takes to do a more involved card.  Whatever it is, I am thinking it is going to be one of my favorite cards to make from now on.  This one was inspired by  this weeks sketch over at Clean & Simple Stamping.  I had been wanting to use this wonderful paper, Comfort Cafe, and when I saw this sketch, I just knew it was time.  Also the new in-color for this year, Summer Starfruit, is so hard to use, but when you put it with the paper here, it just blends right in.

Here is a close up of the bird so you can see how it is popped up!

And the inside!  Love this paper!

Country Christmas/Snow Much Fun

I just love cards that have a little country feel to them and this one seemed to put on a little country for me.  It all started with the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  I knew I wanted to do that sketch as soon as I saw it and looking through my stash of papers and stamps it all just seemed to pop into place.  But what really popped is when I decided to use this tulle ribbon which I had only used behind a print before as a border, but I do love how the ribbon came out on this card.  Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card stock just work so well together.

Here is a side view of the card!

And the finished touch inside!

Had to get all three colors on the inside also.

Hymn & Scripture Challenge #13 / O For a Thousand Tongues

It is so funny, but when I do these Hymn Challenges, I sing the songs from the time I start them for at least a week afterwards.  And this is one of those songs that show just how much we are to praise our Lord and how he desires our praise. I can not tell you the last time I sung this song, but it is one I knew by heart when I saw it.

Revelation 4:11 says, “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”

Psalm 18:3 says, "I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies."

You see it is by His will that we all exist today.  He made each one of us, gave us
the air we breath and loved us from the beginning.  He is our salvation and life if we choose Him.  And if we put our lives in His hands He will save us from the enemy that comes against us daily.  I for one need Him and call upon Him daily and have experienced His power of being saved from my enemies.  No need to worry about tomorrow as I already know who hold it. He is my Lord and Savior and I have accepted His call!

I love all the verses of this sweet song, but verse 4 says it the best of what has happen in my life!

He breaks the power of canceled sin,
he sets the prisoner free;
his blood can make the foulest clean;
his blood availed for me.

And that is why I sing His praises because he has redeemed me by his blood and by His grace, which is why I love Verse 1 of this song!

O for a thousand tongues to sing
my great Redeemer's praise,
the glories of my God and King,
the triumphs of his grace!

Now for my page where I used the scripture, Psalm 29:2!

I thought since it is fall and the weather is changing I would do a fall themed page and now that it is finished, I am glad I did.  It reveals the refreshing feel of fall to me and how refreshed I feel when I give glory and praise to the Lord.

Here you will find this beautiful song sung by the David Crowder Band!

And as always, please check out Patter's post and beautiful page here!

I used Stampin' Up's My Digital studio and the Autumn Traditions Kit along with the Designer Rosettes Embellishments to create this page.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Also using this in the Word Art Wednesday Challenge this week!

For Every Season

Good Thursday Morning to you all.  Today, I am trying out two new challenge blogs.  I learned of both of them from my very special friend Nancy over at her blog, The Nickel Nook.  She is so talented and I love to stop by her blog and see what she is up to.  Heard they had snow at her home yesterday!

Anyway, the two challenges are: A Die for a Sketch and Twist of Faith.  Of course my layout came from the sketch, but add the name in and with the sketch you have to use a die.  And, my title for today's post came from the Twist of Faith's challenge this week which is "For every Season."  The season I chose was fall as I love the colors of fall and I love this verse which lets us know "to everything... there is a season, a time for every purpose.."  If we trust the Lord everything is set into place for us and it is to work out for our good if we love Him!  The key word is trust as their may be times we don't feel as though it is for our good.  But God knows what the future holds, so there is no need for me to worry about it.  I just trust in God!  And using this verse, I am also adding the challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs Blog  which is to use a verse and theme is fall!

Now back to the card and a side view of the card!

Such and easy card to make.  I stamped the verse from the ODBD stamp set, Scripture Collection 1, onto SU Very Vanilla card stock with SU Early Espresso ink. I cut it out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Ovals Die, sponged the edges and with a paper piercer, pierced each scallop.  I adhered it to the SU Designer Paper, Spice Cake with stampin' dimensionals.  I used the stamp set by Stampin' Up! for the leaves called French Foliage, stamped them on SU Very Vanilla card stock in More Mustard, cut them out and adhered them to the card with stampin' dimensionals right above the Scallop Oval.  Attached this to SU More Mustard card stock cut 4 1/4 X 8 1/2 and then folded to make a 4 1/4 X 4 1/4 square card.  How easy is that?

Here is a photo showing the dimension!

Hope you enjoyed your stop by my blog today and please check out these two challenges as they are wonderful challenges.

SU LateNightStampers Challenge/Wood

Hello all and welcome to another challenge for our LateNightStampers Group.  This week's challenge is wood.  You can create a card, scrapbook page, project, or anything else you can think of that uses wood. Remember we have wood sheets and cork sheets as well as the wood stamp and embossing folder.  So there are many ways to add wood or the look of wood to your project.

Now I have a lady that is in my Sunday School class at church and her son is giving her a surprise birthday part for her 70th.  In the invitation he said she loved butterflies.  So when I saw this beautiful wood butterfly while I was out shopping, I knew I had to get it and make a card using it.  And now that it is done, I am so excited I did.  Here is the card!

I wanted to make the card a monotone card as to match the butterfly, so I used crumb cake and very vanilla card stock.  Since the butterfly was a cut out and I did not like seeing the embossing part behind it, I laid the butterfly on a piece of crumb cake and cut it out so that would be in the background of the butterfly.  I liked it much better after I did that.  I sponged the embossed background with crumb cake ink to soften it up some and then added the crumb cake ribbon.  It was a pretty quick card and I think it turned out delightful.  I sure hope Joyce likes it.

Here is a side view of the card!

And, yes I did the inside for her also and added a scripture!

Birthday Flip Book/Scrapbook!

I am so excited to be able to say I finally finished my granddaughter's scrapbook for her 7th birthday which was November of last year.  We took her and my other granddaughter to a Taylor Swift Concert and boy did those two kids have a blast along with the other 3 kids that were suppose to be adults.  Yes, my two daughter's and I was just as excited as the girls. lol  The photos we got were really not all that good as lighting was off and most were taken with phones.  But it still is a memory for her to treasure.  Again I used this u-tube video to make the flip book album because Morgan wanted hers to be just like her brother's book.  You can see the first one I made for my grandson here!  Now I am working on my other granddaughter's birthday from May which will be a flip book also. What you do for one, you do for the others, right! But, thank goodness, I am about to catch up.  But only when it is about to start right back over.  And, now another grandson on the way.  Don't know if I can keep up with 4!!!!!

Now, on to the flip book album!  Here is the flip book closed!

Here is the first flip open!

And the tag on the first page open!

Second flip open and see the cute ribbon there.  You will see what it is used for as we flip through the little book.  I love it!

And here it is fully open, but wait until you see these other items flipped!

This part will also flip and is just too cute!

Flipping up this section!

And again!

And again!

And one more time!

Now to start flipping through the little book at the end! Yes, if I had taken more photos, I would not have had to use so many embellishments.  But they are cute!  You get too involved with the concert and forget to take photos.  Yes, I was like a kid also! Too much fun!  I will sit closer next time for sure!

The night before we went to the concert was Morgan's birthday that we all went to. Only the girls were allowed to go to the concert which was 4 hours away!  So I had to add these in at the end.

Also this is the middle of the flip book part! Remember that little ribbon I said was so cute.  This is what it is used for, to keep the book in place!

And then shopping the day after the concert.  What a birthday which lasted 3 days!

Thanks for looking today and hope you will try one of these flip books as they are a lot of fun.

All paper was Stampin' Up! Designer paper was all retired papers that I used.  Some of the embellishments were from a local craft store, and others were just found in my stash.  Used my digital studio for the sayings on some of the pages. And thank you Nancy for the little crochet flowers and little bird that I used on some of the pages.
