A Star is Born MDS Scrapbook Page

I thought I would share another page I did of my Granddaughter's Dance Recital which was the first of May.  To see the first page which will go with this page, see the first post here!  Now on to my second page.  With this page I showcased each dance she did, ballet, Tap and Jazz.  Such a talented little girl.  Of course she is my granddaughter, lol!  So without further ado, here is the page I did.

Does this sketch look a little familiar.  Yes, I used it for my other granddaughter's birthday party.  But when I was looking at these pictures earlier today, I just knew that I was going to use it for this too.  You can find it at MDS Monday here!  I just love it!

Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy your Friday.

By the Seashore - CAS

Good Tuesday Morning to everyone.  I am back with another clean and simple card using the stamp set "By the Seashore."  I am loving this stamp set and especially since we have entered the beach time again.  This card was inspired by yet another blog for clean and simple called CAS(E) this Sketch.  I decided to use this stamp set as soon as I saw the sketch.  I also used the cloud embossing folder.

Now let me tell you what I did with the shells.  I embossed them with white embossing powder and once embossed, I went over them with the crumb cake marker.  I then took a paper towel and brushed the excess crumb cake color off the embossing and it left just enough of the crumb cake in between the embossing to give it this effect.  Don't you just love it.  I cut them out and then popped them up with a pop dot.  I also took a sponge and sponged around the clouds with Baja Breeze and sponged around the sentiment with crumb cake.  I spritzed the crumb cake at the bottom with the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz to give it a sand look.

Here is a side view of the card!

And, yes the inside is decorated also.

The stamp set on the top is one of "Our Daily Bread" stamps called Footprints in the Sand.  I stamped the bottom with another shell from the set "By the Seashore."

All items used are Stampin' Up! Except inside stamp noted above!

TSSC265 Challenge

Good Monday morning and Happy Memorial Day all! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and hope this holiday is wonderful.  First let me remind you that our LNS challenge is now going for two weeks and if you are looking for that challenge, see this post!  This card of course was inspired by this weeks sketch over at Techno Stampers.  Please join us this week for this fabulous sketch.  Since today kicks off our beach season here in Wilmington, NC, I thought I would use the seashells that we have. I just love them.  What I did here was to used the embossing technique two ways.  I used heat embossing on the sentiment and the shells and of course used the perfect polka dots embossing folder for the background.  Here is my sample!

Here is a close up of the embossed shells and sentiment!

MDS Perfect "10" Party

Can you guys tell that I am trying to stay up with my scrap booking as much as possible.  My sweet granddaughter (one of them) turned 10 this past weekend and she had her birthday party at my house (Grammy & Papa's house) because guess why?  Yes, we have the pool and boy do they love it.  So as you can see we had a pool full of girls and yes a few little boys that irritated the mess out of these girls. lol  It was quite funny to watch.  Anyway as soon as I saw the sketch for this week at MDS Monday Challenges, I knew it was perfect for this picture that I took.  I used the perfect polka dots kit and it worked fantastic to bring in the colors also.  And, I added the decorative label punch in the center of each label, added the photo to the punch to bring in a closer shot of the birthday girl, and used the silver flowers and brads to attach it to the flower border.  Love that you can do that.

Thanks for looking today and hope you have a wonderful day!

Hymn & Scripture Challenge - Hymn # 8 - Faith of our Fathers

Hello and hope your week has started out great. I finally was able to get to the last Hymn and Scripture challenge from Patter Cross and what a beautiful devotion she gave on her blog for this hymn. She is such a great writer and so knowledgeable about the scriptures.  Her page is beautiful also, so please stop by her blog and check it out.

When I saw the Hymn it was one I was familiar with, but not one of my favorites (a first for everything) but still a beautiful song and the first thing that came to mind was Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it."  I have always been taught that and to this day, I still believe it.  Even though I strayed when I first got married, I could not get out of my mind what my mom and dad taught me as a girl.  I have tried to do the same with my girls and now my grand kids. So since that was the verse that stuck with me, I decided that would be the verse to go on my page.  So here is the page and, guess what, I got the sketch for my page from none other than MDS Monday Challenge Blog!  I just knew it would be the perfect layout for this Hymn.  So here is my Hymn and Scripture page!

My Digital Studio was used to design this page.
Botanical Gazette Designer Paper
Attic Boutique Embellishments
Digital Image of hymn from Internet

Thanks for stopping by and looking! Have a wonderful Tuesday!

LNS Challenge 223 & TSSC264

Good Monday morning all and welcome to this weeks challenges.  Our challenge this week at LNS is to do a teacher gift/card.  And again, I combined that with my Technostamper Monday Lunch Time Sketch challenge this week.  I made some notes for my granddaughter's teacher and put inside a note card holder.  And the outside of the holder I used the sketch.  I was very happy with the way it turned out.  I actually used My Digital Studio to create the layered part of the front of the holder and used the kit Spring Break II.  I made the butterfly circle a 1 3/4 to match the circle punch I had on hand.  I thought it turned out great.  So here is my sample for both challenges this week.

Now here is how the stationary on the inside looks and I used the same kit and placed 4 of them on a 8 1/2 X 11 piece of White card stock!

Now for the inside view!

Now isn't that just the cutest set.  I used regular copy paper for the note paper.  And, I am sure you are wondering where I got these directions.  I actually got the first instructions back in June of 2008 when she originally posted the directions at Dannie's Designs.  What a talented woman she is and a great video along with the directions you can just print out.  So please stop by her blog and let her know I sent you.

All items used are Stampin' Up! except the envelopes
My Digital Studio for DSP and butterfly circle.
Kit used is Spring Break II (elements and DSP)
retired eyelets and retired ribbon.
envelopes are small and some left over from my daughter's wedding rehearsal RSVP's

Again, thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy your Monday!

MDS Scrapbook Page - Promotion

Hi everyone!  Just wanted to share a quick scrapbook page I did of my Son-in-law's recent promotion.  Of course with the promotion, comes some sad news for me, but not quite as bad as I thought.  They will be moving to Virginia which is about 4 hours from me.  I have never lived more than 30 minutes away from my children or grandchildren so I am not handling that part of it very well.  But with skype I guess I will talk to them quite often.  I will just miss holding that little grandson of mine every week and playing games with my granddaughter.  But it all works out and I have to remember that I did the same thing to my mom, I married a military man and followed him around for 20 years.

Now with this I did use My Digital Studio, but the embellishments and the designer paper was from a kit I got free by joining a group called Digital Scrapbooking Pixel Scrapper.  It was part of the Military Bundle by Marisa Lerin.  They even have challenges there.  So you may want to check them out.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge 13

I loved the sketch I saw at MDS Monday last week and finally got a chance to sit down and work on it.  I decided to use some of the photos from my granddaughter's dance recital.  Isn't she just the most beautiful little girl.  Of course I am a little prejudice since a lot of people call her little Jonia.  Anyway, this is the page I put together for the challenge and the other part of the challenge was to be monochromatic.  So I just chose the colors closest to the color of her tutu!  I love the outcome.  Now I have to do at least two more pages as she also did a tap dance and a jazz.  But for now, Page 1!

Of course it was all put together using My Digital Studio and the Pin Wheel Elements kit.  Just seemed to work with this and to match the colors.

Thanks  for looking and hope you have a wonderful evening!

TSSC263 Monday Lunch Time Sketch

Good Monday morning and welcome to our Monday Lunch Time Sketch.  Mary Jo out did herself on this wonderful sketch and I had a wonderful time putting my sample together for it.  By the way, Our Late Night Stampers challenge is now running two weeks through the summer, so if you would like to get in on that challenge you can find my sample here along with a link to the LNS blog!  You can actually combine the sketch with that challenge if you would like.  Now on to my card!

Now isn't that just the cutest card. I just love it and I love the flower trim ribbon which I just pressed down on the ink pad to get the color on the little flowers.  I took a cut out of the framelit stand and sponged it with gray ink using a sponge dauber.  And, I also cut the dress out twice and shortened it and cut in the center to make the little sweater.  Isn't that so cute?  Here is a side view of the card!

And yes, the inside is done and I used the stamp set "One in a Million" for the sentiment on the inside.  1st part is a little crooked, but that just adds character to the card and shows that it is home made! lol

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Set: One in a Million (inside)
Card Stock: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Island Indigo
Designer Series Paper: Twitterpated
Ink: Basic Gray (sponged), Island Indigo
Dress Up Framelits

MDS Birthday Invitation

Happy Friday everyone!  What a crazy week and weekend I have had and have ahead of me.  My daughter is graduating tomorrow with her Master's in Education so we will be going out of town tonight and coming back late tomorrow night, then going out of town on Sunday to see my Mom for Mother's day.  We will come back the same day as going to mom's is just a day trip, but no time for anything else.

Anyway, next week does not get any better as we are having my granddaughter's birthday party at the house, so another busy week ahead.  And with that I wanted to share the birthday invitation with you that I created through My Digital Studio.  I created it as a regular card size so we could mail in the regular envelopes.  So here is what it looks like!

Now what I did to make it easier to print is I put 4 of these on a 8 1/2 X 11 card stock and printed it on Whisper White Card stock.  Here is the 4 on the page I printed.

This just makes it so easy and you print 4 at a time and then cut at the 4 1/4" mark down the center and then the 5 1/2" mark between the two.

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!

LNS Challenge 222/TSSC262 Monday Lunch Time Sketch

Good Monday morning dear friends and hope your weekend was wonderful.  Time passes so fast and when you stay busy as I have these past few weekends it passes even faster, so Monday is just to soon for me.  But on to our challenges this week.  Yes, once again I combined the Late Night Stampers Challenge with the Monday Lunch Time Sketch at Techno Stamper's blog.  Our Late Night Stampers challenge is to use "Your Favorite Retiring Colors" from SU!  I love so many of them, but I must say I will miss Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze and Regal Rose.  So those are the colors I chose to use on this card.  And, I am so happy with the outcome.

For the flower, I actually stamped my stamp with versarmark and then stamped it in Regal Rose then onto the Pretty in Pink Card stock. I embossed it with clear embossing powder to help it stand out better and to put the two colors together.  Then using the Secret Garden Framelits, I cut the flower out.  So very easy.  Of course the leaf is part of the framelits also.  I did the embossing for the Happy Birthday the same way, by stamping in the versarmark and then the Baja Breeze ink using the clear embossing powder to highlight the sentiment.  The designer papers are from an old 6X6 paper pack that was a hostess gift years ago and was the only thing I could find in the regal rose.  But it worked beautifully.  I used the front and the back of the designer paper.  Added a few of the butterflies using the Beautiful Wings embosslit folder and the Baja Breeze card stock.

Here is a side view of the card!

And the inside of this card!

Graduation Card using Patterned Occasions Digital image

Good Friday morning all! I found a sketch challenge that I had not seen before and as soon as I saw the sketch, I knew it would be great for my daughter's graduation card. She will be graduating next week with her Masters degree in Education.  We are so proud of her and what she has done with her life.  And, she did her Masters with two children.  Anyway, I wanted to make a special card and when I saw this digital image, I knew it would be the one.  Actually before I saw the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches I had already printed out the image. It also is great for the challenge this week at Late Night Stampers.  So here is the card I made for her!

Now how cute is that.  You can barely see it, but I did put a rhinestone on the button part of the jeans above and, I think my rhinestones on the side are a little crooked.  Oh well, it will do in a rush.

Here is a side view of the card!

And yes, I did the inside also!

How cool is that?
