{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #12, God's Will

I had really been thinking about this Glory Art Challenge for a while and I could never get the right feeling about it, but I saw this verse printed out on PINTEREST and I just had to use it, Luke 22:42.  I am going to share with you Luke 22:41-42, "And He withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”  Wow, what Jesus did for us!

As I thought about this, I thought about how easy it is for us to turn from doing God's Will to doing what we want to do.  Instead of praying about things, we try to fix it ourselves and only after it gets so bad do we think about prayer.  And do you know that is one thing God wills us all to do is to kneel down in prayer and talk to him.  You see Jesus could have said, No I am not going to the cross that is too painful, but instead he knelt down before the Father and asked the Him about it.  He wanted to do His Father's will.  That is what I want to do with my life is to do my Father's Will.

Let's continue on with the next verse in Luke 22, verse 43 says, And there appeared to Him an angel from heaven strengthening Him."  See God heard Jesus' prayer to Him and He sent an angel to strengthen Him.  Even though our prayers may not always be answered the way we want, if we stay in the will of God and follow Him, He will give us the strength and comfort we need to get through the difficult times in our lives.

Here is another verse that goes right along with this.  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always  pray without ceasing,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.  This is what we should do; rejoice, pray, and give thanks in all circumstances.  Is this hard at times, YES.  But, we have a comforter and helper to get us through whatever happens in our life.  Trust Jesus, He will never let you down.

This morning when I was looking through our photos I took when we went to the Grand Canyon this summer, I knew exactly what I was going to do with this verse.  The picture is one I took as he was looking out over the Grand Canyon and all I did was add the verse and then framed it.  I printed the picture to fit into a frame I already had and I loved it.  This is art to me.

The 1st picture I did by adding a frame on My Digital Studio.  This shows you the beautiful colors of the actual photo.  I did this because I could not get a great photo in the frame I had.  I may also have to go and buy a white frame as I do love it in the white frame here.

Now here is the actual photo framed in the frame I had at home.  The photo looks just like the on above in this frame, but I could not get the color to come out good.  I just love it.

Here is a song I just love that "God will Make a Way for Me".  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Also, please check out Patter's post as I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Hope you all have a blessed and wonderful weekend.

Sprinkles of Life Card Set & more

Happy Hump Day everyone.  Yes it is Wednesday and I have a few things to share with you today.  I purchased this stamp set from Stampin' Up! recently called Sprinkles of Life.  I just love the sayings and also the stamps, plus they had a coordinating punch which made it that much easier.  I was looking through my stash and found these card and envelopes that I had purchased from the clearance rack at Stampin' Up!  That made my day as I started stamping.  I also used other stamps as there were 12 note cards and 12 envelopes.  So here they are and really cost me very little.  The lighting was not really good, but you get an idea of what they look like.

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #14, Maturity

Welcome everyone to Challenge #14 of Glory Art Scripture by Patter Cross.  For this challenge she chose Maturity and what a great subject.  I think we all to some extinct want to just sit and watch and just want to be babies forever.  I know in the work place there are times I just want to go home and put a pacifier in to keep from crying.  What about you?  But in all things we need to grow up even in our faith with Jesus Christ.

Patter had a wonderful devotion for this challenge and you can check it out here.  I love how she started out salvation "on the bottom rung of the ladder" and to move up we have to climb the ladder.  You can't get anything done at the bottom.  Just as an infant cannot stay on milk and needs more solid food as they grow, so do we.  I find myself going backwards at times and that is why I have to search his word and pray daily or I will continue to move back to the milk stage and we cannot live just on milk.  As Patter said we will become "malnourished Christians."

That is why I chose the verse I used on my mixed media canvas, Ephesians 4:1-3,  "As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.   Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.  Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."

You see, if we live the life worthy of the calling we have received from God and humble ourselves, love one another, as He has called us to do, keep unity we will be growing in Christ and becoming more like Christ.  That is our ultimate Goal to be more like Him and in doing so others will want to follow our example.  Right now, I don't know if there are many who would want to follow my example, especially at work.  I am really working on that situation and praying hard.  And, God is working on me.

So here is my mixed media piece.  I forgot to add where the scripture came from and noticed it once I started to post the pictures.  I am going to write it on the canvas so everyone knows where the scripture came from.  Hope you enjoy my "Glory Art" today.
