Happy Birthday Erin
Today is my daughter's birthday and I decided to use some of the new Stampin' Up! items for her birthday card. Of course I also had to add a few challenges to get it just right. First of all I used the color combination from CPCM which was purple and white, so I used Lovely Lilac and Whisper White for the card stock and the classic ink. And then I used the MOJO Monday Sketch for the layout. It just seemed to fit right together and looks so much like my daughter.
I used two items from the sale-a-bration that will be available on January 5th. Stamp set called "Whimsical Words" and a new border punch called "Scallop Trim Border". Yes, with a $50 order you can receive this border punch for free.
Then from the new occasion mini catalog that is also starting on January 5th, I used the stamp set, "Messages fro Mom". I thought the flower was so pretty and would even be pretty colored in.
Other items used was the 1-3/4" circle punch and the Circle cutter.
Non stampin' up! item is the embossing folder for cuddlebug. Thanks so much for looking.

Stamping Christmas Songs
Winter Wonderland
Brayers roll....are you listening.
Jingle Bells
Dashing through the snow
To the hostess house we go.
O'er the streets we pass
Anxious to spend cash.
Stamps are everywhere
Making spirits bright.
Oh what fun it is to sing,
The stamping song tonight!
Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up!,
Stampin' all the way!
Oh, what fun it is to stamp
In the good old fashion way!
Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up!,
Stampin's here to stay!
Oh, what fun it is to stamp
All the gifts you give today!
Let it Snow
Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the inks look so delightful
So while the winter is cold and damp
Let us stamp! Let us stamp! Let us stamp!
It doesn't take much convincing
And I've brought a tool for crimping
Choose some paper, turn up the lamp
Let us stamp! Let us stamp! Let us stamp!
When we carefully press just right
How we smile as the image unfolds
Our projects are quickly drying
And there's new techniques for trying
So until we get finger cramps
Let us stamp! Let us stamp! Let us stamp!
Deck the Halls
Deck the halls with foils and glitters, Fa la la lala, la la la la.
Tis the season for us stampers, Fa la la...
Don we now our inks and powders, Fa la la...
Troll the heatguns and embossers, Fa la la...
See the card stock blank before us, Fa la la...
Strike the ink and join the chorus, Fa la la...
Follow me in merry masking, Fa la la...
Join us in some Yuletide stamping, Fa la la...
Faint away with chalks and markers, Fa la la...
Hail the new, ye rubber stampers, Fa la la...
Stamp with joyous all together, Fa la la...
On the twelfth day of Christmas
(sing to tune of Winter Wonderland)
Rubber calls are you listening?
In the craft room we can stamp a snow card,
send it onits way to a friend.
They'll say did you make it?
You'll say Yeah, man and you can stamp one too, yes you can!
Later on, well conspire,
as we sit, by the fire,
to face unafraid
the mess that we made
wading through our Rubber Wonderland

Preview: Vintage Vogue
I know there are some of you out there who are wondering what is coming with the new mini catalog and also sale-a-bration. Well this is a preview of both. The paper is one of the free items you can get in January with a $50 Stampin Up purchase. Yes, free. Don't you love it and there are so many more colors and designs. Also, the stamp set that I used is from the new mini and it is called Vintage Vogue and guess what, you can now get the stamp in the wood mount version or Clear-mount. How exciting is that. I used the clear-mount set for this one and can tell you I loved it. It is different than the other clear-mount stamps on the market because you can still enjoy the same high-quality rubber and foam you've grown to love on our wood-mount stamps, but now in the new clear-mount stamp option! It is just too cool. Also the clear-mount blocks are shaped like the wood so it makes it easier to hold and stamp. I am really excited about what is happening with Stampin' Up! With this card I also used a new brad that is in the new mini and the ribbon and classic ink used is one of the in colors Melon Mambo. Other items used to make the card: Oval large punch, oval scallop punch, Whisper White cardstock and melon mambo card stock. Thanks for looking.

Sweet Treat Snow Globe
I first of all stamped the image on whisper white card stock after coloring the image on the stamp with the ruby red marker and the always artichoke marker. I used the 1-3/4" round punch and punched the image out and then set it to the side. I used some of my retired riding hood red card stock and cut it to about 2 1/2" by 4" (which is longer than it is here). I then used the sweet centers stamp set (ornament top) stamped in versamark and stamped it on the top part of the card stock. Got the silver embossing powder and poured over the stamped image and then heated it with the heat gun. Again using the 1-3/4" round punch I punched out the circle right up under the embossed ornament holder. I then turned it over and applied my adhesive to the back prior to putting the sweet treet cup through the hole. Once I did that, I then put the sweet treat cup through the hole, poured in very little of the dazzling diamond glitter and then filled with water. At this point you will need to be careful not to wet the top of the cup where the adhesive will come off. You will take the adhesive off and apply a piece of the Stampin' Up! window sheet that has been cut to cover the adhesive part of the cup. Once you do this you are almost done and you can shake and move the snow globe. The base of the card is made with whisper white card stock and the background is the specialty DSP Christmas Cocoa. I then used a piece of the White satin ribbon and attached. Took the first image I had punched out and applied to the center of the cup over the window sheet. Added a few glue dots for extra adhesive and attached all to the card. I did cut down the riding hood red card stock to about 3-1/2" long. Right up under where the circle was punched out. Hope this makes since, but if not let me know and I will try to explain better. Thanks so much for looking.

More Boxes
This is another box I made for the candles. I just love making these boxes and they are so easy and so cute. I used the Specialty DSP Christmas Cocoa for this box and also used the Stamps Delightful Decorations, and hostess stamp set Holiday Best. And of course if you used the delightful decorations, you have to have the Ornament punch to go along with the set. It just makes it so easy. The cardstock is soft suede and sahara sand. I also used the real red classic ink and the soft suede polka dot ribbon. The little snowman at the bottom is a sizziks die that I borrowed from a friend at our stamp camp last weekend. I just cut out quite a few and brought home to use as needed. That is one good thing about these stamp camps, we all bring things to use that someone else may not have. Thanks so much for looking.

Poinsettia Card/Wild Colors
This card was a lot of fun and I actually did it for a challenge on CPCM Ministries. I just love the look of what the 5 Petal flower punch does when you score it to make it look like a Poinsettia. Of course to do the challenge these are the colors I had to use and thought, well why not. There are pink Poinsettias out there. So I went with it. It turned out a little busy, but all in all, I thought it was cute.
I used the 5 petal punch for the flowers and the leaves. Used 1/8" punch to get the centers for the flowers and used the 3/4" punch for the center saying and the 1" cirlce punch to adhere the saying to. Cardstock is Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passion, Green Galore and Whisper White. What a combination and no I did not come up with that. That was part of the challenge at CPCM along with the sketch. Thanks for looking and hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Candle and box
List of Stamp Sets:
Upsy Daisy Stamp Set
Country Morning stamp Set, hostess set (saying only)
List of Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
2 sheets 12X12 Melon Mambo Cardstock
1 sheet Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper
Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink Pad
Melon Mambo Classic Ink Pad
Rich Razzleberry ½” Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon
Silver Elastic Cord (mini catalog)
Ornament Punch (mini catalog)
Snail Adhesive
Sticky Strip
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Glue Dots
Heat Tool (embossing gun)
Other Supplies Needed:
6” tall white or cream candle (width approximately 3”)
Wax Paper (cooking wax paper)
White Tissue Paper
Directions for Candle:
For the candle, you will need the “Upsy Daisy” Stamp Set, Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink Pad, Melon Mambo Classic Ink Pad, White Tissue Paper, Wax Paper and a White or Cream Candle. Cut a piece of tissue paper the length that will wrap around the candle but not overlap and about 4” in height. You will ink the stamp with the Rich Razzlebery Classic Ink first and stamp close to edge of tissue paper. Clean stamp and then ink the stamp with the Melon Mambo Classic ink and stamp over the first image. (You do not have to stamp in the same place, looks better if you don’t. Just in close proximity of the first stamped image. See candle above.) Continue to the end of the tissue paper kind of overlapping the beginning of the next stamped image with the end of the last stamped image. When finished, ink the saying from the “The Country Morning” Hostess stamp set in Rich Razzleberry Classic ink and stamp in center of tissue paper underneath flowers.
Once complete with the stamping, trim down your tissue paper on top and bottom as close as possible. Take a piece of wax paper and cut it or tear it so that it is not any taller than the candle being used and long enough so that it wraps completely around the candle and then some. Take your stamped image and wrap it around the candle till it meets. Then place the wax paper on top of stamped tissue paper and wrap the wax paper around the candle. Pull wax paper tight around candle and pinch close with your fingers making sure the wax paper is tight against the candle. Heat up your embossing gun about 25 to 30 seconds then moving quickly wave it over the stamped image making sure you hold the wax paper tight. You will notice when the tissue paper image starts adhering or embedding into the candle. (Don’t hold in one spot or you can over melt the candle, just wave it) Once you have went as far as you can with the heat tool, slowly peel the wax paper off the candle and move to the next part of the image by doing the same as the above until you have imbedded the stamped image all the way around your candle. It is best to try and not use the same spot on the wax paper as you move around the candle, but you can use 1 piece of wax paper many times. Once you have adhered the image all around, your candle is complete.
Directions for Candle Gift Box:
Cut (2) pieces of Melon Mambo cardstock 9 ¾” width X 10” tall. With the 9 ¾” cardstock across top of cutter using the scorer, score at 3 ¼” and again at 6 ½”. Turn paper with 10” side of cardstock across top and score at 3 ¼”. This will be the bottom of the box. At this point you will need the sticky tape. Face each side of box together as if putting together. Place sticky tape on the top of each side that is going together as shown in picture below. Adhere together.
You can cut the bottom at the score mark on inside up to the 3 ¼” score mark on each sheet, or you can put together and then cut.
Do the same for the other side of the box, making sure that each side which goes on top of other side, both are toward the back of box, so front looks smooth. Now take the flaps at the bottom of box and turn in to form bottom of box. Place sticky tape on the last panel and fold up to adhere as shown in picture below. And again make sure the panel you put the sticky tape on will go to back of box to make front smooth.
The box will be 6 ¾ “ tall and 3 ¼” wide when complete.
Use the Ornament punch to punch out two ornaments for the front of the box from the same designer series paper. Place pop dot on back side of each ornament at the top. Cut (2) 1 ½” pieces of silver elastic cord and make upside down “U” shape with each piece and adhere to back of ornament by placing each end into the glue dot. Do this with each piece of ribbon.
Place two pop dots on the back of each ornament. Cut 1 piece of ½” polka-dot grosgrain ribbon 4” and another piece about 5”. Turnover and apply snail adhesive to the backside. Adhere to front of box as seen on box picture at beginning of box instructions. (Some of the ribbon will go over to the inside of the box at top). Then remove covering on pop dots and place ornament over bottom of ribbon.
Lid:
Cut 6 X 6 piece of designer series paper.
Score at 1 5/16” on all four sides. (Line between 1 ¼ and 1 3/8)
On opposite sides, cut up to score marks on corners. See picture.
Put together with Tacky Tape on cut corners as seen below.
Fold up and adhere to inside of outside flaps. Your lid is now complete. Place candle in box, put lid on box and cut enough ribbon to go around box and tie bow on top as seen here.
