Punched Snowmen

Welcome to Stampin for Me on this rainy Sunday Morning!  We really need the rain, so I am not complaining.  I will thank God for every bit we get.

This is a card I made on Friday Night while my husband was out doing his football stuff!  Gives me time to stamp and think of new things to do, so I am not complaining there either.  For this card I used the Crumb Cake card stock and the Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Seems as though I am stuck on the cherry cobbler lately, but I am loving it.  I used the Northern Flurry embossing folder on the cherry cobbler and then using the shimmer white paint (mixed in a spray bottle with 60% alcohol) I spritzed it and then let it dry while I punched the pieces out for the snowman.  Here are the punches I used for the snowman:

Body: 1-1/4" Circle, 1-3/8" Circle, 1-3/4" Circle Punches
Hat: square scallop punch (used the corner of the punch)
scarf: modern label punch (folded it down to make scarf)
arms: extra large bird punch
eyes: black brads
nose: Heart to Heart extra large (used the smallest heart and cut in half)
mouth: just cut it out
1/4" punch for the two circles on the belly area

For the scarf and the 1/4" circles I used the Jolly Holiday Designer Paper.

For this Santa, I used all the same punches except for the eyes I decided to use the smallest punch on the crop-a-dile to make the eyes and I think I like them better.  I also did not add a mouth.  For the paper on top, I used whisper white, but, I brayered the inside of the embossing folder with cherry cobbler ink and then ran it through the big shot.  I then sprayed again my mixed shimmer paint and sprayed it to give it the shimmer.  I also sponged the Frost White Shimmer paint onto each circle prior to putting together and sponged the edges with crumb cake ink.  To even add more shimmer to the snow flakes, using a sponge dauber I added more of the frost white shimmer paint to those.  For my first try with this, I think they turned out well.  It was a great Friday Night of just playing around.  Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think by leaving me a comment.  Have a wonderful Sunday!

  2. A wonderful card. I just love the snowman with his cheerful scarf. Adding frost white shimmer paint to the snowflakes is a nice touch. Thanks for sharing the details on how the snowman was made.
