Workshop/Messages for Mom

At the workshop tonight, you were able to do one of these two cards.  It was up to what the customer wanted to do.  Both cards use the same stamp set which is called "Messages for Mom" and is in the mini catalog that ends tomorrow.  So if you want this stamp set, you will need to order tomorrow prior to midnight.  It really went over well and I think everyone enjoyed making the cards.  Very simple and easy.  Recipe for the card follows:

Stampin' Up! items used:

Stamp Set: Messages for Mom
Cardstock:  Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Whisper White, and Green Galore
Classic Ink:  Ruby Red
Markers
Two-step extra large bird punch
Finial Press embossing folder

Now this is the scrapbook page we did tonight.  I changed it up a little by having the title say
May Memories
2010

I did that part on the MDS and printed it out.  How great is that?  For both projects I used retiring card stock and ink.  If you would like to order the paper that is retiring, please do so quickly, because when it is gone, it is gone!  The cardstock for this project is Lace lavendar, barely bannana, almost amethyst and pale plum.  I am going to miss a lot of these colors, but am looking forward to all the new colors.

Other items used on this project were:

Two-step extra large bird punch, 5 petal flower punch
Beautiful Wings embosslits die
Pinking hearts corner punch
Pinking hearts border punch
My Digital Studio for the title

Sweet Scoops

How exciting is this?  Another new stamp set!  I know I am going to love this stamp set especially over the summer.  It will more than likely be one of my favorites along with the Pedaling Past which are both in the summer mini.  I used the stamping 411 sketch for this because it was so appropriate and I also used a color challenge from Christian Paper Crafts, where you were to use orange, a neutral and one other color.  So my other color was Taken with Teal which will be retiring in June.  Following is the card recipe and thanks for looking!

Stampin' Up! products used:

Stamp Sets: Sweet Scoops (summer mini), Tiny Tags (current mini)
Cardstock: Taken with Teal, Naturals white
DSP: Sweet pea paper stack
Ink: Pumkin Pie, Close to Cocoa
1/4" grosgrain ribbon,
Silver ribbon
Medium Jewelry Tag Punch

Happy Birthday Wheel Sneak Peak

As soon as I saw these wheels in the new Summer Mini, I knew I would have to try them out.  Actually on one roll, I rolled all three wheels.  The top wheel is candles, the second Happy Birthday, and the third one is stars.  They are smaller than the original wheels and now starting May 1st, you can purchase Stampin' Around Builder Wheel Spindle and Spacers and use these smaller wheels with the Jumbo Wheel handle.  You can also purchase the new Stampin' Around Uninked Triple Cell Cartridge and ink three different colors, two different or whatever you want.  I inked the two outer cells with pretty in pink and the inner cell with Basic Brown.  I also used this for a challenge over at stampin connection and for a color challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.  These rollers would also be great to make birthday bags.  Just roll right on the white bag and it is ready to use.  How great is that.  Recipe below and thanks for looking!

Sneak Peak/Pedaling Past

Ok everyone, here is a sneak peak of what is coming May 1st.  The reason I chose this stamp set is because it reminds me of my childhood days and now I have a bicycle just like this one.  I was so excited to see it in the Summer Mini.  Also, as I have already said, the color baha breeze is coming back on July 1st and I am excited about that also.  I had to look and see if I had any more of the baha breeze and again I was excited to find a sheet and so I used it to make this card. The one sad thing is the DSP I used here which is from the Sweet Pea DSP Stack from the current mini that ends April 30th will be going away. :(

So what do you think.  I think I love it.  I also used the stamping 411 sketch for this card.  Tell me what you think and thanks for looking!  Card Recipe follows:

Stamp Set:  Pedaling Past
Card Stock:  Baha Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
DSP:  Sweet Pea Stack
1/4" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon

It's a Shower

This is the baby shower card for my daughter's upcoming shower that I designed.  It matches the crib set that is going in the nursery and it is going to be a boy!  How is exciting is that?  Two daughters, two granddaughters and now a little boy is going to join our family.  Anyway, when I finished she loved the card.  It is actually made from all retiring cardstock which makes it even better.  I'm not sure about the natural white card stock, but I do know the Close to Cocoa, Sage Shadow and Summer Sun are retiring!  I also used two retired stamp sets for this: Wild about You and Something to Celebrate.  The trees are from the Forest Friends and is still a current stamp set.  I used the 1/2", 3/4" and 1" round punches.

If you would like to know more about the Color Renovation go to this post

Below you will find the crib set that I got my inspiration from.  Thanks for looking!

God's Blessings

This is a case I did for the Case Saturday Challenge on Christian Paper Crafts.  I love this sentiment that comes from the stamp set "God's Blessings."  Actually I love all the sentiments that are in this set.  It has one for every occasion.  I also used again the Orchid Opulence cardstock that will be retiring in June.  I really never used it much until this year when they brought in this wonderful DSP called "Cottage Wall."  Now I use it quite often with the DSP and even on its own with the Rich Razzleberry, which by the way will be returning July 1st as a permanent color for Stampin' Up!  How great is that? To learn more about the Color Renovation go to this post!  I am looking forward to all the new things that Stampin' Up! has in store for us.

Card Recipe:
Stamp Set: God's Blessings
Card Stock: Orchid Opulence, Whisper White
DSP: Cottage Wall
1/4" grosgrain old olive ribbon
Beautiful Wings embosslits die
ticket punch

Please e-mail me if you are wanting to learn more about Stampin' Up! and the oppoutunities that are available.  Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thinking of You/Vintage Vogue

I will be using a lot of the retiring colors in the next few months, so here is another card.  The colors on this card that will be retiring on June 30th are Ruby Red, Cameo Coral and Mellow Moss.  The outlay of the card was for our featured stamper challenge last week who was Connie Babbert.  And, guess who the featured stamper for this week is:  ME!  I was so excited that I did not know what to do for a few moments.  Out of all those talented demonstrators, they chose me.  It is definitely a great honor and I am thankful!

Cardstock:  Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, Mellow Moss, Whisper White
Classic Ink:  Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, Mellow Moss

Manhattan Flower

BOLD!  That is all I can say about this one.  I actually did not intend for it to come out so bold, but once I added the basic black and real red cardstock it just went bold.

The roses are made with the Manhattan Flower embossing folder.  The Technique challenge at Stampin' Connection was to use water color.  So that is why I chose to use this embossing folder.  I could color it in with water color.  And I did using the real red crayon and blending it with the blender pen.  I then decided to use the basic black marker to highlight the embossing instead of leaving it white.  Then I decided to go around it with the real red marker.  I think that is when the bold started to come out! LOL  Anyway, this is the outcome, a little bold, but cute.

The stamp set used was Teeny tiny wishes.  I do use that stamp set a lot.  Always a wish for every occasion.  Thanks for looking.

MOM!/Messages For Mom

I love this MOM stamp and am using it quite often.  Would like to send Mom a card each month letting her know what she means to me.  So here is another card I created last night to send for this month.  This stamp set is available until April 30th and the name of the stamp set is Messages For Mom!  It is in the current mini catalog.  I also put some colors together that I do not normally put together, but I thought since we would be retiring some of our colors on June 30th, I would use a couple of them for this card.  The two that will be retiring are Barely Bananna and Pale Plum.  So stock up if you would like to keep them in stock for a while.  Go to this post to see the new colors coming in and the colors that will be retiring.  The darker color, Perfect Plum will continue on with the new color renovation.  I have never put yellow with these colors, but I do like the outcome.  The ribbon was white and by using a sponge dauber and perfect plum, I created a perfect plum ribbon.  The flower was created by using the round scallop punch and all three of the colors of cardstock mentioned above.  Also used was the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  Thanks for looking!

Sharing Some Exciting News

Stampin' Up! has announced that it has come up with new color families and they are calling it:

COLOR RENOVATION

They will be adding 5 brand new colors, bringing back 10 of the retired IN COLORS, and will be retiring 31 of our current colors.  As much as I will hate to see the old colors retire, I am so excited about all the new that is coming in. Here is what the new color families will look like:
So you see, there are still 4 Color Families.  These color families will be released in JULY with our new 2010-11 Idea Book and Catalog.  Now with our Clear Mounted Stamps and our New Color families, Stampin' Up! is really moving forward!  I for one am excited and love the 5 brand new colors which are: Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso.  Check them out above!  And, also check out the 10 returning In Colors of which "Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette" from last year are two of my favorites, along with Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Riding Hood Red, River Rock, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi.  I love that we will have new colors to create with!  And, we will still have new In Colors coming also!  How great is that?

The following colors will retire as of June 30th, 2010, so you may want to stock up on your favorites.  I know I will be stocking up on Orchid Opulence, Pixie Pink, Bordering blue and a few others.  Don't forget to get the re-inkers for your current stamp pads and paper.  As sad as I am to see them go, I am looking forward to the excitement of using all the new colors in my creations.  Hope you will catch my excitement and stock up on your favorites from the list below--that will retire as of June 30th.
Thanks for looking and I will get you more news as I receive it!

Of the Earth

I did this for the sketch at Stampin' Connection.  I love sketches like this one.  I actually embossed the flowers again and then did the shadow effect by embossing a second image slightly lower or to the left or right of the other image.  By doing this it gives it the slight shadow effect.  I also used this for the Christian paper crafts  color challenge which this week was to use a color with a calming effect.  So that is why I decided on the Pale Plum and Perfect Plum.  They are very calming colors.

Items used:

Stamp Set:  Of the Earth
Cardstock: Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Ink:  Perfect Plum, Versamark
Markers:  Perfect Plum, Old Olive
Embossing Powder: Clear
5/8" satin ribbon
filgaree brad

Country Morning/Clean and Simple

Stampin' Connections Clean and Simple challenge this week was to use a stamp set you had not used in a while or that you had never used.  So as soon as I came across Country Morning, I knew that I would use it to make a one layer card.  And by using the oval cut out frame and the perfect polka dots embossing folder, helps make this oval frame to stamp the image in.  It is really so easy and makes a card look really elegant.  If you go to this post, it will explain more on how to do this method.

Items used:
Stamp Set: Country Morning
Cardstock:  Natural Whites
Markers:  Various
1/4" certainly celery grosgrain ribbon

Wonderful Mother

Wow, I love these colors together, regal rose and old olive.  I used the sketch from Stamping 411 for this card and also decided to emboss the flowers for a challenge at Stampin' Connection.  So this is two in one.  How great is that!  And, I was trying to figure out a card I could do for my next workshop.  I need to work on a Mother's Day Card and that is why I used the Well Scripted Stamp Set.  The flower is from the stamp set Close as a Memory.  But, doing challenges sometimes gives me ideas of what I will do at my workshops.  This could definitely be a runner.  Thanks for looking!

Others items used not mentioned above were 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, Perfect Polka Dots. markers, versamark and ink for sponging.

Garden From the Heart

This set is so great for this sketch that was on stampin' connection this week as a challenge.  And, of course the colors were also a challenge on stampin' connection.  It was to use soft suede, crushed curry, bermuda bay and dusty durango.  So I did get all the colors in.  It is so fun to try and use colors together that you may have never put together before and make your card turn out.  I did some sponging to help soften the effect of the stark white.  I love to sponge and it adds to the effect of a card.  Following is the sketch I used and the Recipe for this card.  Thanks for looking!

Recipe for Card:
Stamp Set: Garden from the Heart
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Whisper White
Ink:  Bermuda Bay, Dusty Durango, soft Suede
Markers: Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay
Punch: Curly Label

Vintage Vogue DSP

This was for three challenges over at Christian Paper Crafts; sketch, color and Bible Verse Thursday.  The colors were Cool Caribbean (retired in color), orchid opulence, certainly celery,  whisper white.  The Bible Verse was to use a verse from Proverbs.  So with this, I went through my stash of retired papers and voila, I had about 3 peices of cool caribbean left along with the ink and I had the retired set "Words of Wisdom" which had a verse from proverbs.  So by using the Vintage Vogue stamp set which is in the current mini catalog, I made my own DSP.  How great is that.  I also used the round scallop punch and the two-step bird punch which I love.  The emobossing folder is also in the mini and called perfect polka dots.  Thanks for Looking!

Vintage Vogue/Friend

This is a card I did for the color challenge on Christian Paper Crafts and for the Featured Artist on Stampin' Connection.  The colors were to use colors of the Sea, green, blue, gray and a neutral color.  The featured artist on Stampin' Connection was Robin Merriman.  I also did this card to send to some friends of ours, the husband had just had surgery and the wife was being his nurse.  So it was just to let them know we were thinking about them and praying for them.  Thanks for looking!
Recipe for Card:
Stamp Set: Vintage Vogue
Card Stock: Basic Gray, Always Artichoke, Brocade Blue, Whisper White
Ink: Brocade Blue
Markers: Always Artichoke, Going Gray, Brocade Blue
