Fun On Friday - Challenge - Butterflies and Flowers

Today's Fun On Friday challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is to use Butterflies and Flowers and they remind me of this verse!

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Philippians 4:8

So today's Fun On Friday Challenge is to make a card, scrapbook page, altered item what ever you would like, but make sure you use at least one flower and at least one butterfly.  And as you work on that project think about all the beauty our Lord has given us from the flowers to the butterflies to beautiful friends like you. So let your imagination soar and I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Here is my card for this challenge!

For this card, I used a couple of different challenges other than mine over at Christian Paper Crafts.  One was last Saturdays Clean and Simple where you are to use the bleach brush technique.  I did use the bleach brush technique, but don't know if it is a clean and simple card! lol  I also used this weeks sketch challenge at CPC!  You can find the sketch here!

Here is a couple of close up pictures!

I just love this bow!

And a close up of the bleached out section!

And of course had to show you the inside!

Don't forget to work on the inside of those cards also.

When uploading to our gallery at Christian Paper Crafts please use keyword FOF107 and when uploading to other online galleries or your blog, please use keyword CPC-FOF107.

I would love for you to play along with our Fun On Friday challenge this week! You can link your card to our Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog, Fun on Friday Post!

Copy That Scrapbook Challenge

What time is it? Today is time for another Copy That Scrapbook Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  It is time again to get some inspiration from the advertisement gurus. This ad  captured my attention and I hope it will capture yours.

Let this advertisement inspire you, whether you are inspired by the sketch design, the colors, or any of the elements or shapes, use the ad to scrap your own layout. Please tell me and the rest of Christian Paper Crafts how you were inspired when you post your layout to either the gallery at Christian Paper Crafts or to the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.

I was inspired by the layout which made me think of a progressive scrapbook page. It was a great layout for a 8 1/2 X 11 page, yet to continue on with my theme of 12 X 12, I just used the 8 1/2 X 11 and attached it to a 12 X 12.

That is what this challenge is all about is making the ad you see in front of you your own design. So I hope you will let this ad inspire you as I did!

Can't wait to see how you use this advertisement in a layout of your own. It is all about enjoying what you do, so get that paper out, or get your computer out for the digital page and have some fun! You will be glad you did!

When uploading to the gallery at Christian Paper Crafts, please use the keyword CT09 and when uploading your layouts to other galleries use CPC-CT09.  Or, make sure you post it to the CPC Creative Blog (post goes live around 1:00 pm today) so I can see how it inspired you!

I am also using this in this weeks Scrapbook Challenge at SU LateNightStampers!

Beach Wedding!

Hello all!  Don't know if I have told you or not, but my daughter is getting married this weekend and I thought I would share some of the items we have for the wedding.  It is a beach theme wedding and we are trying to be as frugal as possible with the cost.

First of all I will share the card box that I made!

For this box, I used a box from Stampin' Up! and covered it with the packing paper that Stampin' Up! uses.  The shells I picked up on the beach last year, so there was no cost to me there.  I did purchase the ribbon and the beach pail on the top, but the sign I did by using My Digital Studio.  I have a few more signs to do and will share those when I finish.

Here is the center piece we did for the table tops!

This was really easy!  We just purchased a small bowl and a bag of sand and a some decorative shells and a candle!  Very inexpensive!

I just love the boutonniere.  I had seen something similar and thought I would try this and I think it turned out so well.

The netting on the back came in a big roll and I just cut pieces and put it all together with a glue gun.  I used hemp twine and knotted it.

Thanks so much for looking!

CPC Blog Hop - For the Man in Your Life

Good morning my cyber friends.  Today starts our blog hop for this months Theme over at Christian Paper Crafts.  The Theme for this month is Father's Day, Masculine, Soldiers.  So that should get you ready to pick up that paper and get a little inky.  Also make sure you link your project here!

This is a card that was inspired by this weeks sketch challenge at Christian Paper Crafts and one I did for my dad for Father's Day!  I am hoping the boat may bring back some of his fun days out fishing and boating.  He just loved doing those things and use to catch a lot of fish.  You would not believe how healthy he looks but has no memory of anything.  That is the sad part about Alzheimer's, but you learn to deal with it.  And my dad seems happy enough.
What I did here was stamp the image onto naturals white card stock and then used different inks to sponge around it to create the ocean look.  I just love this small stamp set called Uncharted Territory.  You can do so much with it.  Also the lighthouse is cut out of the Designer Series Paper called Nautical Expedition.  No stamping with that, I just cut it out.

Here is a side view of the card!

Now for the awesome prizes that you can win! This is the best part.

Christian Paper Crafts Member Prize: A 3-month extension to your current membership, Blog Hop Winner badge, and a prize sponsored by a crafty company.
Nonmember Prizes: Blog Hop Winner badge and a 1-month Blessed Believer Membership to Christian Paper Crafts.

Create any paper project with our monthly theme of Masculine. This may be a card, scrapbook page, altered item, etc. and make sure you link it to Mr. Linky at the bottom of the blog hop post at Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.  There are some other rules so make sure you read the "things to remember" and one of those is to attach the monthly blog hop badge to your side bar by using the code below it.

Items used are Stampin' Up!

Stamp Sets: Uncharted Territory, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock: Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Early Espresso, Naturals White
Designer Series Paper: Nautical Expedition
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso
Embellishments: Bakers Twine, Curly label punch
Technique: Sponging

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Sunday!

Fun On Friday Challenge - Motif Jar embelishment!

Well it is time for our Fun on Friday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts and this week it is Robyn's turn to post the challenge!  So here is some of what she had to say!

"May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you." 1 Thessalonians 3:12
In a recent post one of our member's talked about a MOTIF Jar!  What is a MOTIF jar you ask?   MOTIF stands for "money and other things I find".  So I think most of you have a Motif jar of some sort whether it is a drawer or a mason jar that sits in the laundry room where you put odds and ends when you find them.  While this verse causes me to think of the new life that is about to present itself to some of our Mommas here at Christian Paper Crafts, I want to challenge you to ponder the words written here and create whatever the Lord lays upon your heart. Now as a secondary thought about the overflow, after understanding what a MOTIF is, what did you find to use on your Fun Creation for this Friday? Thank you to ONEY for the fun suggestion of using found items in a card or page, or any other paper creation!

So now it is my turn to let you see the card that I made for this Fun On Friday Challenge this week.  I do keep a container in my wash room to pick up the change and other things I find in my washer after the clothes have been taken out.  So as I went through this jar that sits on the dryer, I saw the small shells that I love to pick up at the beach and then forget to take them out of my pockets once I get home.  So I decided to use two of those small shells on this card!  When I first finished the card, I thought I don't really like this card, but then after looking a little bit more and adjusting a few things it began to grow on me.  So I hope it grows on you also.

Here is a close up of the card!

Remember to add your FOF106 to the keyword when you post to the gallery at Christian Paper Crafts and also if you have a blog link it to our Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.  Posting it other  galleries, please use CPC-FOF106 as your keyword.
So whatever this verse makes you feel, make a scrapbook page, card, or any project, but remember to use one of those trinkets you have added to the "MOTIF" place in your home.

This card was also inspired by one of the sketches of our dear sketch hostess at Christian Paper Crafts, Gloria Stengel!  Thanks Gloria!

Hope to see lots of projects!

Designer Series Paper: Paisley Petals

Workshop Samples and Hostess Gift!

Hello everyone!  Tonight is my workshop and these are the items we will be working on!  I was really excited about the outcome and hope they like it as much as I do!

This is a page I put together using a sketch from Got Sketch!  The sketch was for one photo and I wanted at least two, so I changed it up a little.  But there are times I just need a sketch to get me motivated and this one did the job.  The photos are from my daughter's bridal shower about 2 1/2 weeks ago.  The one I almost missed!  I got up at 2:30 that Saturday Morning to get a flight out early enough to make the shower and then was not sure they would be able to get me on an earlier flight.  How I scheduled a business meeting out of town and a bridal shower around the same time I don't know!  Maybe it was brain overload with the wedding and everything else!lol

The second card we will be making is this wonderful card below using one of the new stamp sets in the Summer Mini.  As soon as I saw this set, I knew I had to have it.  I just love summer and this stamp set will definitely get the use it deserves!

Of course I found this design from Laura Lipe and knew I had to share it with the ladies in our stampin group.  You can find the directions to this card template here!  Thanks Laura for a wonderful funky-fold card to share with my ladies.

Here is a side view of the card!

And last but not least is the hostess gift for my hostess!  I used the new paper from the summer mini to cover this notebook and when I was trying to figure how to decorate it, my daughter said, "Mom it is beautiful just as it is."  So I took her word for it and just let it ride.  The new paper below is called "Beyond the Garden" and is absolutely beautiful!

Here is the backside of the notebook and it also have a place keeper built in with the ribbon.  That way you know what pages have already been written on or if you would like to mark a specific page for something.

Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a wonderful evening!

A Redo of an Old Card!

Hi everyone!  Today's challenge at SU LateNightStampers is "What was I thinking"?. We were to go back to one of our first posts on our blog (or where ever you post) and re-do that card. (If you don't have a blog or gallery just pick any old card that you have done and re-do that.)

So to see the older card that I did you can go here!  I did not think it was too bad, but I thought all in all it could be brightened up.  I even stayed mostly with the original colors of the old card!  Now here is my re-do!

Now to tell you why I made the changes.  For one, I did not like where I put the sentiment on the first one.  It just seemed to be out of place to me.  So I added it below the ribbon on this one.  Also, used the same image - Upsy Daisy - but decided to double stamp it in the colors used instead of the one color.  The butterfly was OK on the first one, but again seemed to hide the image, so I changed it out a bit and added some bling to the butterfly and then added a smaller one to the top of the image.  I still used one layer as the base of the card, but added a border by using a embossing folder to give it more depth.  And lastly, the ribbon was also a little bland on the other card, so I kind of ruffled it a bit.  Oh and yes, I added some vanilla smooch shimmer mist to the card.

To be honest, the reason I added the butterfly to the bottom of this card is because the sentiment is crooked and you can still tell, but the butterfly did take away the focus on it!LOL

Here is a side view of the card!

And here is a close up of all the sparkle and butterflies!

So please let me know what you think.  Which do you like best?  The original one or the re-do!  Will not hurt my feelings so please let me know!

Colors used on this one are Rose Red, Baja Breeze, and Certainly Celery.  Used the embossing folder called Framed Tulips, Beautiful Wings Embosslits die, pearls and rose red 1/2" seam binding ribbon.

Thanks for looking!

Upsy Daisy - Old but still good!

This set I used for this card is an oldie but a goodie and still active with Stampin' Up!  I use it probably more than any other set I have and be assured, I have plenty!  But with this card, I actually double stamped the image.  Once with Daffodil Delight and then with Tempting Turquoise.  It actually looks like it was stamped 3 times, but is only where the colors mixed together.  I also embossed the sentiment by using white embossing powder.  And used an embossing folder for the border called Framed Tulips!  Love this folder.

Actually this card was inspired by 4 challenges over at Christian Paper Crafts.  The color Monday challenge, the Wednesday Case Artist challenge, Bible Verse Thursday Challenge and then finally the Clean and Simple Challenge on Saturday!  You can check each of these challenges out by going to the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog and you can even join in!

As you know I am doing the insides of my cards now and I am really happy that I made that one of my top goals for the year as far as paper crafting.  So here is the inside of this card!

For the inside I used one of the verses from the scripture collection 6 from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I thought it went well with a graduation card.  And, it made it simple since I have two people from our church graduating this year.
Colors used here are Whisper White, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise!

Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a wonderful rest of this wonderful Sunday!

Fun On Friday - Gift Cards

Hello all my loyal cyber friends!  So sorry this is getting posted so late, but blogger has been having some problems this week and I was unable to post until this afternoon.  But, anyway, better late than not at all, right?

So today I am the host for Fun on Friday over at Christian Paper Crafts and here is my post for this Friday!

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15
The gift of God is definitely one that is indescribable and one we do not deserve. But, He loved us enough that He went to the cross, so we could have this precious gift of eternal life. "Thanks be to God" and praise His name forever.

So today's Fun On Friday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts is to make a Gift Card Holder. It can be for graduation, a birthday, Father's Day, baby shower, wedding, whatever event you may have coming up that you can use a gift card for. And as you work on that gift card think about the blessed gift our Father gave to us, His Son, Jesus Christ. So let your imagination soar and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Since we are preparing for graduation here at the School of Nursing (actually our whole college) I thought I would prepare a graduation gift card holder.

Here is a tutorial and template for the gift holder I made. I made a few changes to the inside, but the template is the same! And, by the way, it fits into a regular A2 envelope!

And, here is the inside of the holder!

The fun part of this challenge is to be able to get ideas from everyone else, so please join in this week.  You can link your project to the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog!

When uploading to our galleries at Christian Paper Crafts please use keyword FOF105 and when uploading to other online galleries or your blog, please use keyword CPC-FOF105.

For the Men in Our Lives

On the 15th of every month our Design Team at Christian Paper Crafts opens our Theme month's gallery.  This month's theme is Father's Day, Memorial Day,and Men.  On the 10th of each month, we get to post a sneak peak of what the gallery has in store for the members of Christian Paper Crafts.  So my sneak peak is due the 10th of every month and this is my sneak of what is in store over at CPC.  I am also using this for the challenge at SU LateNightStampers this week as the emphasis is on "Father's Day" there!

For this card, I decided to go Father's Day and actually used the digital stamp set from my Digital Studio called Open Sea!  Now after doing this, I may have to purchase the actual set from the Summer Mini catalog.  I just love the outcome.  I also printed out the anchor which comes in the set also.  Great for masculine cards!!!!!  The designer paper goes great with this set and is called Nautical Expedition.  It can also be used by itself and make a wonderful card!

Here is the inside of the card using some more of the wonderful designer paper!

I am loving doing all the insides of my cards!

Fun On Friday - Pairs

Welcome to this weeks Fun On Friday!  This week is Robyn's week to post the Fun On Friday at Christian Paper Crafts and since we are still celebrating CPC's 2nd birthday, our Fun on Friday goes right along with the celebration.  Here is what Robyn had to say!

Genesis 1:16 God made two lights. The greater light to govern the day; the lesser light to govern the night.

Thank you for joining us in the celebration of the second birthday of CPC. Cindy opened this sharing community to serve the Lord, bringing others to Jesus. God is our light here, shining in the threads as members support one another in prayer and encouragement. There has been much growth in the past two years. As spoken in this verse from Genesis, God created two lights. Just as the moon is a reflection of the suns brighter light, Cindy's leadership and devotion to Christ and this sight is a reflection of Christ's love for each of us.  Join us this week in the continuing celebration of two successful years for Christian Paper Crafts, by using pairs of anything on your creation! Two colors, two of each embellishment, Two stamps. Let your creative juices flow as you join in the party!
So grateful, to you Cindy for being willing to shine!

To see Robyn's card and to play along with us this week, you can link your card to the bottom of the Fun on Friday post at the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog!

This is my sample for this weeks challenge! As you can see, I chose to use a pair of circle for my take on this challenge. I also used two (pair) Designer Series Papers. So I guess you could say that I doubled up on this challenge! LOL

This is a close up of the circles as I also sponged on some of the champagne mist shimmer paint by using a piece of plastic wrap. I love the effects of the shimmer! Looks a lot better in person as you can see the shimmer better.
and as always to keep myself accountable by doing the inside of the card, here is the inside!
If you would like to play along use the keyword FOF104 if you link to Christian Paper Crafts gallery and CPC-FOF106 on your blog or other online galleries. Look forward to sharing with all of you in the week of celebration for a place to share our love of God and our love of paper!

Sunny Fun Flip Flop Birthday

Here is another birthday card I did!  This one was inspired by the stamping 411 sketch challenge.  Been a while since I was able to do one of their sketches and I love it.  I am also going to use this one for the SU LateNightStampers challenge where we are to use three embellishments.  I would say I have three on this one.

I had been wanting to use this stamp set for quite a while and things kept getting in the way and when I saw this sketch, and the Wednesday Case Artist over at Christian Paper Crafts, I knew I would be able to use it.  Thanks stamping 411 for a great sketch and thanks to Cindy Coutts (Wednesday Case Artist) who inspired me to use the bling!

Also we are still celebrating over at Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog so continue to check out all the entries in our blog hop which you can find here!

I just love scrapbooking my grand kids playing soccer and this one is of my 6 year old dear granddaughter.  She loves playing soccer and you can see it as she runs around the field.  You should see her face when she scores a goal!  Too sweet!

Anyway, enough bragging and on to this layout!  This layout was inspired by a sketch at Christian Paper Crafts.  The challenge is called simple blue prints.  I knew I was going to use it to scrapbook soccer as soon as I saw the sketch.  To see the sketch you can go here!

My Digital Studio was used to design this page!

Happy Birthday Christian Paper Crafts!

Christian Paper Crafts is celebrating their second anniversary this week, and we'd love to have you join us! We are starting things off this morning with an impromptu birthday blog hop. Me along with some of the other Design Members are starting it off with some amazing birthday cards!  And after you've checked them out, we'd love to have you play along, too. After all, what's a celebration without games and prizes?! Be sure to check the Creative Blog and the Christian Paper Crafts forum this morning for all the details on our amazing prizes, and how you can get a chance to win them.

Here is the birthday card that I made for the Christian Paper Crafts Blog Hop, along with a few other challenges.  Actually I was inspired by the sketch over at Our Daily Bread Designs which is good through this week.  Also another inspiration was from the SU LateNightStampers challenge this week which was to use at least three different embellishments.  So I added the rhinestones, the butterflies and the vanilla rosettes.

One of the reasons I used this stamp set is it really says how I feel about Christian Paper Crafts!  They are a gift from God for me.  It is a place where you can truly worship and share and I love people who love the Lord!

Here is a close up of the center of the card!

Also, I am still committed to doing the insides of my card and on the inside of the card, I decided to use a verse from the Scripture Collection 6 stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Isn't that a wonderful verse and then I surrounded it by flowers from a SU stamp set called Happiness Shared.  I am just loving working on the insides of my cards!

So rest up, get your creative thinking caps on, and get ready to play with us this week at Christian Paper Crafts as we fellowship and celebrate!  Did I mention there will be prizes and some wonderful prizes at that!  Be sure to check them out.

Items Used for this card are:
