Three Little Words

Black and White!  I love black and white cards.  They look so elegant.  This card was inspired by the color challenge at Christian Paper Crafts and by the sketch at Stamping 411. 

The Designer Paper you see here, actually was printed from My Digital Studio.  I just took a 8 1/2" X 11" scrapbook page and added the Basic Black textile, then printed it with no border and it filled the whole page.  I just cut the 4" X 5 1/4" to fit this card.  How great is that?  The black around the oval is the Stampin Glitter Fine Galaxy.  I just used my 2-Way Glue Pen around the edges of the oval and then added the glitter.  It is really glittery in person, especially since I also added the vanilla shimmer smooch spritz on top of the completed card.  Added the pearls and the satin ribbon to give it a little more boost.  The punch used was the scallop edge border.  Thanks for looking and hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

Top Note Box/Flower

Isn't this the cutest box.  I made some of these last year and decided to make another for our challenge this week on Late Night Stamper.  We are to use the big shot with whatever me make.  This box is made by using the top note die.  I actually got my directions on this from Karen Sylvester.  You can find her post and the directions for the box here.  It took me a little while to find my post from last year, so I could remember where I got the directions. 

For my box, I added a flower that I made using the round scallop punch and the 1 3/4 scallop circle and the 2 3/8 scallop circle.  I also made the designer paper by using the vintage vogue stamp set and the 3 flower stamp out of the punch potpourri and then sponged it with the rich razzleberry.

Because I Care

Good Saturday Morning to all of you stampers.  As you can see, I was quite busy last night working on this card.  It was really a lot of fun to do and really did not take as long as I expected.

The inspiration for this card came for Christian Paper Crafts.  I actually combined 3 of their challenges, Wednesday's Case Artist, Bible Verse Thursday (inside of card below) and Fun on Friday.  It is not often I can say that, but it worked great for this card.

For the flower, I did not color, I used a sponge dauber to put the color on with.  Why you ask?  Well the fun on Friday challenge was to not color with markers or whatever.  No coloring!  So by sponging it you still get the color and actually it was a lot easier than coloring.  The color inks I used were Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.  The sentiment is stamped in black.

To make the lace look around the oval, I took a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock, cut at 1" and punched the outside with the pinking hearts border punch.  I then ran it through the crimper about 3 or 4 times to break down the fiber in the card stock.  I also ran it up the edge of my table a couple of times to break it down even more.  I then separated the one piece of card stock into two pieces.  That made it thinner and easier to pleat around the oval.  All I did was apply adhesive to the back of the oval around the edges.  I then started the cherry cobbler around the edge, pleating as necessary to round it.  That was all it took and you see the results.  Not hard at all.  Maybe one of these days, I will do a tutorial or a video.  Who knows!

The stamp sets used were Because I Care and Just Believe!  I can see myself using these a lot.  For the inside of the card below, I used the My Digital Studio and printed it out.  My last effect on the card was to spritz it with the vanilla shimmer smooch spritz.  I love that stuff!!!!! Happy Birthday Bag

Good Friday Morning everyone!  This is the bag we did last night at my workshop.  I think everyone really liked it and what a blast we had.  A lot of fun, fellowship and stamping.  It was such an easy project except as some of the ladies said, separating the one piece of card stock into two pieces for the flower was a little hard.  But it is just something you get use to doing.  It can be time consuming, but how pretty when you are done.

We actually used the mini rollers which came out in the summer mini, but these three rollers are actually in the catalog this year so you will still be able to get them.  The colors I used are riding hood red and basic brown in the middle.  It really does add to the rollers when you can use the different colors and how easy is it to roll just one strip.  Then add the flower and a tag and voila you are done.  The tag was done by using markers on the tag flower, just the flower in the Just Believe set and then punching out with the curly label punch.  Hope you all have a wonderful day and thanks for looking.

Another Christmas Card

Good Wednesday Morning all!  This card contains a little from the future, a little from the current and a little from the past.  What I mean by that is:  the extra large decorative punch is a sneak peak from the Christmas Mini, you may order starting September 1st.  The rhinestones, card stock and smooch spritz are current now.  The Designer paper and the stamp are from past catalogs, retired.  So now you have it.

I received the inspiration for this card from the Monday Color challenge - use kraft, turquoise and white, black optional- and the Tuesday Sketch from Christian Paper Crafts.  So I remembered this Designer paper from Christmas last year which incorporated these wonderful colors.  And then I found this old stamp set from 1998 which I decided to use because it worked so well with the decorative label punch.  So there you have it.  Actually the flowers are from Gina K Designs which I won in a contest at Christian Paper Crafts.  How great is that?  Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think.

Christmas Greetings

Good Tuesday Morning to you!  This is another card I made this weekend.  Another Christmas in August card.  And, another sneak peak at this wonderful punch, Decorative label.  I am really enjoying using it.  The inspiration for this card came from stampin' connections sketch this past week.  I also wanted to use the Christmas paper I had just received, Jolly Holiday, so this is what I came up with.  Quick and easy.  Actually the paper did a little rip at the top left corner, but I decided it was not that bad and I kept on moving.  I try not to throw away anything that will work and yes, I do make mistakes! lol

The card is a square 4-1/4" X 4-1/4".  Items used are:

Back to School/Greeting Card Kids

The challenge this week for the Late Night Stampers is a theme of "Back to School."  So I used my new Greeting Card Kids stamp set.  I love the look of them.  Reminds me of the "Dick and Jane" reading books when I was a child. 

I also used inspiration for this card from our stampin' up group, stampin' connection's featured artist. 

With this card, I used so saffron, poppy parade and whisper white card stock.  The Designer paper is the specialty paper called presto patterns and it is actually white until you sponge it or as I did, use the bashful blue classic in and the brayer.  You just roll the ink on and out comes the design on the paper.  So easy!  For the apple I used the Tart and Tangy stamp set.  Markers were used to color the kids.

Enjoy the Journey

Happy Sunday to you all!  Hope you have a wonderful day today. 

This card was inspired by the stamping 411 sketch challenge.  Please check them out, their sketch goes up on Saturday and they always have great sketches.  For this card, I chose the pedaling past.  I hate that this stamp is only in the summer mini, because I can see myself using it quite a bit.

This card was actually very easy to make.  First of all, I stamped my image on very vanilla card stock, then colored it in using my markers and sponged around the edges with basic black ink.  I then adhered it to a piece of poppy parade card stock.  I then stamped the little tricycle, colored and punched it out with the 1" round punch and then punched out a 1-1/4" round for the mat.  I then stamped the sentiment on a a piece of very vanilla card stock and punched it out with the extra large decorative label punch (sneak peak from the Christmas Mini).  I then cut my two circles using the Circle Scissor, the large circle is Poppy Parade and the small circle is the News Print Designer Paper, perfect for this stamp set.  Then I started putting the card together.  Once the card was together I then spritzed it with the Silver Foil Smooch Spritz.  I just love the sparkle that it gives and it also adds a little vintage look to the card.

Nathan's Birth Layout

I saw this sketch on Jennipher Lowery's Scrappin Silhouettes blog on Thursday and knew I was going to have to use it.  Please check out her site, it is wonderful.  But this morning when I saw the scripture challenge for last week on Christian Paper Crafts, I knew exactly how I was going to use it.  The scripture was 1 Thessalonians 5:18 "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."  And for some reason it reminded me of the day my grandson was born and how thankful we were and how we knew it was the will of God. 

I used the My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up!  How great is that?  It only took a matter of minutes and I thought it turned out so well.  I really need to get back to my scrapbooking now and keep up with it.

Joy At Christmas

Christmas in August!  Well I know if I get started now, maybe I will have enough cards by Christmas.  At least one a week. 

This is actually for this weeks challenge over at Late Night Stampers where you were to use Stampin' Up! supplies (stamp in this case) that were not the original intent of that item.  Here I used the stamp set "Plant Hope," a new item in the catalog for this year.

I actually stamped it with the craft white ink and then embossed it with the iridescent ice.  Added a little more snow at the bottom.  I also used the flowers a plenty embossing folder on white and then went over it with the brayer in riding hood red which only highlighted the petals.  Isn't that great.  I love the way it turned out and wish you could see the shimmer because I sprayed it with the shimmer paint (mixed with 70% alcohol in a spray bottle).  I then topped the card off with a ribbon and the stamp "Joy at Christmas" from the stamp set Perfect Punches.

Get Well

Good Tuesday Morning to you!  My card today was inspired by the stamping 411 sketch challenge.  They have some awesome sketches and you should stop by and check them out.  Another inspiration for the theme of this card was that my pastor's wife had to undergo emergency surgery last week and I wanted to send her a get well card.  I just love this stamp set because you can be serious, as I am in this card, or you can be a little humorous.  The stamp set name is "Wellness Wishes" and it also has a stamp that says, "Heard you're sick as a dog" with a little dog holding a thermometer in its mouth.  Too cute!

Magical Candle

Good Monday Morning to you all!  Hope your weekend was great.  I enjoyed my weekend.  Spent time with family and friends.  But, I did take a few minutes to make this candle for the challenge today at Late Night Stampers.  This weeks challenge will be using our supplies in a manner that they are not originally intended for.  For instance use a Christmas stamp for a birthday card, or use the owl punch to create flowers, or use a
4th of July image on a Birthday Card or use a stamp set to add an image to a candle.  You get the picture. So please join in the fun if you have a few minutes.

For the candle I used the stamp set in the summer mini called "A Little Bit of Magic."  I just love this stamp set.  I stamped the image on white tissue paper using early espresso classic ink.  I then colored the image using my markers.  Some of the markers used were certainly celery, pretty in pink, pink pirouette, blush blossom, sahara sand, tangerine tango and wild wasabi.

Ocean View

Happy Friday Morning to you all!  Hope your week has been a good one. 

This is another card I did for the Late Night Stampers challenge this week, Under the Sea.  I also got inspiration from the sketch challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.  Hopefully you can see that the ocean is behind the bicycle with the sun coming up.  I stay on the east coast so the Sun does come up over the ocean.  I have never rode my bicycle on the beach, but I have seen many others do it during low tide when you have more of the hard sand to ride on and it has always seemed like a lot of fun.  Since I live at the beach, I don't know why I have not done that.  I guess because I just love to walk on the beach!

This stamp set "Pedaling Past" will be going away the end of August, as the summer mini will be over.  I hate to see it go, but I know I will be using it for other things.  I was a little bold on coloring it and after I finished wished I would have used a different color, but it was not so bad as to start over.

To make the scene, I used the water color crayons and an aqua painter.  I just colored the colors on the whisper white and then used the aqua painter to blend them.  It is so easy and so very fast.

Greeting Card Kids/Get Well Wishes

I have fallen in love with this stamp set "Greeting Card Kids."  It is such a cute set and you can use it for almost any kind of sentiment.  This little girl was actually paired with a little boy, but I just stamped her for this card.

The inspiration for this card came from two different sources.  First of all the sketch came from "Monday Lunch Time Sketch" and Mary Jo has one posted every Monday.  And of course when I saw the circle on the sketch, I knew that I would use this little girl. 

The color combination came from Christian Paper Crafts Monday Color challenge.  You were to use Kraft (Crumb Cake), a green and neutral color.  My neutral color is very vanilla and my green is wild wasabi. 

On my card I also used the very vanilla satin ribbon.  It just seems to dress up a card wonderfully.  I also again used my vanilla shimmer smooch spritz, which I have to get more because I am almost out.  But I do love the shimmer it gives to a card.  The Designer Paper is "elegant soiree."  Thanks so much for looking and have a wonderful Wednesday!

Going Fishing/Punch Art

This is my sample for our Late Night Stampers Group and the theme for this week is "Under the Sea."  You can do any card that reminds you of the ocean or water, from colors to punch art to whales, fish or even just colors that remind you of the ocean.  So it is wide open for your creativity. 

I have seen these little fish out there quite a bit, but this is my first take on creating them and I was happy with the outcome.  The colors I used were Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White.  I actually did the top of the card first, just to see how everything would work.  I started by sponging the whisper white with Marina Mist Classic Ink.  Then I stamped the sea grass (of course is not sea grass, but what I had in my current stampin' up! stock) by using the stamp set "Just Believe."  I then found my five punches I would be using for the fish which were: 1-1/4" round, large oval, ornament punch, five petal punch and the Heart to Heart punch.  From the heart to heart punch I only used the smaller heart for the mouth of the fish.  The five petal punch was used for the fins and the tails of the fish.  I then glittered the fish using glue and dazzling diamonds and then for the final touch, I spritzed the whisper white with the Vanilla Shimmer smooch spritz.  I am loving that stuff!  For the sentiment I used Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Hope you like it and please leave a comment.  Also play along with us this week at Late Night Stampers!  Enjoy your Monday.

Vintage Vogue

Hello again my stampin friends!  Hope you are all enjoying this Sunday. 

Here, I was going for a vintage look, but I am not sure I was successful.  But in person it does look a lot better.  It actually took me 13 shots to get this look you see here.

The sketch and the colors were iinspired by the Stamping 411 sketch and color challenge this week.  Their colors were to use Marina Mist, Rich Razzleberry and More Mustard.  So I thought well lets see how this turns out.  The colors actually look very good together and looked a lot better before I tried to get the antique look to it.  But, the more I look at the card, the better I like it so maybe I did OK.  I actually sprayed the Silver Foil smooch spritz to antique it and then the vanilla shimmer to give it a little shimmer.  I sprayed all of this after the card was complete, so ribbon and all were spritzed.

Thinking of You

This has been some week with my daughter having to go back into the hospital with a new born, but God was good and she is back home with her family again.  So not many post this week, but I was able to get this card together last night with help from the sketch challenge at Christian Paper Crafts Sketch Tuesday.  They have a challenge for each day of the week, so check them out.  It is a wonderful place where you can stamp and also enjoy Christian fellowship.

I don't do a lot of layers, but as soon as I saw this sketch I knew that I would be using this bird punch.  It was just the right size for this spot.  I was also inspired by stampin' connection's color challenge this week to use the colors of Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait.  The Daffodil Delight is in the bottom piece of Designer Paper.

So to help you with the size of each cut here, I will give you the paper size.

I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and folded in half.  I then cut the Sunny Garden Designer Paper at 5 3/8 X 4 1/8 and attached to the Whisper White.  The strip of poppy parade was next and it was cut at 3/4 X 5 1/2 and attached approximately 1 1/8" from the bottom of the card.  I then cut the peach parfait card stock at 3 X 4 1/2 and attached close to the top and left side of the card as seen in picture.  The pear pizzazz was cut at 3 X 3 1/4 and then embossed using the perfect dots embossing folder and attached as seen above.  Then finally I did the last two cuts.  The poppy parade was cut at 2 5/8 X 1 7/8 and then the whisper white was cut at 2 1/2 X 1 3/4 and attached together.  I then attached the punched out leaves from the extra large bird punch to the white and then using the perfect polka dots embossing folder to emboss this piece before attaching to the card.  I then attached this to the card and punched the bird out using the sunny garden designer paper and for the wings using the peach parfait.  Adhered this to the card using a pop dot to give some dimension to the bird.  Once this was all together I then used the stamp set Three Little Words to add the sentiment using poppy parade classic ink.  The last step was spritzing the whole card with the vanilla shimmer smooch spritz, loving that stuff.

Tart & Tangy

It is funny how you can have a stamp set for so long and then all of a sudden you realize it is actually a nice set to use for simple cards.  This is the stamp set Tart & Tangy and when I was looking through my stamp set to find one that would look good with circles, I saw this one.  Now on to what inspired this stamp set and this card.

First of all, the challenge this week for the Late Night Stampers is to use circles.  The colors to use for this weeks color challenge on Christian Paper Crafts was to use the colors Peach Parfait, Certainly Celery and White.  And, the sketch for this card is from Stamping 411 sketch challenge.  So there you have it!  3 challenges combined in one card and I think it turned out fairly well.

Sympathy/God's Blessings

The challenge for this weeks Late Night Stampers was to use circles.  By the way, I am now on their Design Team and feel so honored to have been asked.  For the challenge you have to use at least one circle on your card.  That is not so hard is it!  So please play along if you would like. 

So this is the card I decided to do for the challenge.  It is also inspired by this weeks featured stamper on stampin' connection, who is Sandy MacIver.  So I got the two for one deal.  God's blessings is a stamp set that is still current, but I love the saying that are in the stamp set.  They are just right for that occasion when you need something a little more serious.  The button is made by me, using 3/8" round punch and punching out 5 circles from a piece of Baja Breeze card stock and adhering them together.  You can punch the small holes in them using the paper piercer and then cover the button with crystal effects and let dry.  Then you have a button that will match any color card stock you may want to use.  It is so simple and easy.  The hard part is waiting for it to dry so you can use it.  I also used the stamp set just believe for the center under the sentiment.  I actually used baja breeze classic ink, but stamped on another piece of paper prior to stamping it on this so that it would come out lighter, but yet you would see it under the sentiment.  Card stock used was Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, and Very Vanilla.  The Designer paper is Elegant Soiree.
