Jingle All the Way!

Happy Monday everyone!  I am participating in a swap and these are the cards I made to share.  I just love the sparkle on them and the green along with the new edgelits from Stampin' Up!.  Don't sell stampin' up!, but loving these edgelits along with the stamp set that comes with them.  I also used a glue pen and dazzling diamonds to get the glitter effect or ice effect as I called it. (glue pen so I could just mark the trees in different places and then sprinkled the glitter around and shook it off)   I also used my all time favorite stamp set on this as the background called "Lovely as A tree."  Don't you just love it.

Inside of the card. (not a very good photo, sorry)

And even made envelope liners to go with the set.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your Thanksgiving.  Blessings to all.

Close as A Memory

Happy Sunday everyone!  I just finished this card for a co-worker of mine whose mother passed away last weekend and she will be returning back to work tomorrow.  So I wanted to have it on her desk when she comes back.  It was such and easy card to make and took about 15 minutes.  Those are the cards I like to do now that I am so busy at work all the time.  I feel drained once I get home and only want to sit down and rest.  Yes I sit at work also.  Not a lot of good exercise is it?  I do get out and walk for about 30 minutes everyday, so that helps a little.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  Hope your Sunday is blessed and your week.

Butterfly Punch, Blessings from Heaven, Washi Tape

Happy Friday.  I was looking at Pinterest again and saw this wonderful easy card that I needed to case.  I know I am going back to spring, but I could not help myself.  You can find the original card here.  She has quite a few cards she used the washi tape with.  Great ideas!

So here is my version.

And the inside. (messed up the butterfly at bottom, but it is just me) :)

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful and blessed day.

Lovely As a Tree and Wetlands

Happy Monday! Yes, I am back to share a couple of cards I made by using the sponging technique along with stamping over each stamp to add dimension.  I found it on Pinterest and loved the card, so thought I would try it myself.  You can find the original post here, and the Pinterest link here

Now I took two sheets of paper cut the width of the card, 5 1/2 and put a few dots of adhesive on them, rubbed my fingers over them to soften the adherence of it and then placed one at the top of the card and one at the bottom to be able to sponge the center. (I think she used sticky notes for the card on Pinterest, regardless same effect.)  I used midnight muse for the sky and mellow moss for the grass.  Leaving the paper on top and bottom, I then stamped the trees in a lighter green, then a little darker green, took the paper off the top and bottom and then stamped the trees in black.  So, so easy.

I just love this one layer card and so, so easy.

I also had to do the inside of the card.

And then I decided to do another one with the same technique, just a different stamp set and I loved it even more.  I just love these little birds from the SU Wetlands stamp set.  I actually used the same two pieces of paper for the top and bottom and sponged with crumb cake ink for sand and pool party for the ocean.  Took the bottom paper off and put about a 1/4 inch from the top paper to be able to make a sky line.  Then removed both papers and started stamping.  So what do you think?

And all I did for the inside is stamp the beach looking shrubs.  You would think since I live at the beach, I would know what they are called, wouldn't you?

Thanks for stopping by and looking today.  I was motivated on Saturday and hope it helps to motivate you.  Enjoy your week.

French Foliage card

Hi everyone, I am back before a week is over.  But I made this card from a card I found on Pinterest which you can find here.  I went to my stamps and picked out one I had not used in a long time and then of course looked it up on Pinterest.  Isn't that easy.  My is a little different, but the idea is the same.  So funny because that next day my husband asked me if I had a card to send to a friend who was about to celebrate the one year anniversary of losing a brother.  I brought him this one along with some others and this was the one he chose.  My husband also lost his brother one year ago this week to a farming accident so when he found out about this person, he wanted to let him know he understood what he was going through.  I have the most thoughtful and compassionate husband (that is what God can do).

Here is the card!

And the inside!

Thanks for stopping by for the second time in a week.  I really appreciate your support and love!  Have a wonderful weekend.

1st Birthday Card and Fall Decorations Theme

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday and you are not too excited to see a post from me.  Life is just getting in the way of my crafting, but that is OK for this season of time.

Today is my granddaughter, Ansley's first birthday.  We went to VA this weekend to celebrate it with her, so I thought I would share some of the cute things that were done.  1st, I will share with you the cute card I did for her birthday.  This is the front.

And this is the inside.

Then here are some things my daughter did to decorate her house with a fall theme.  She used my bigshot and oval dies for most of it.

How cute is this pumpkin.  My daughter got her good crafting sense from me.  Actually I think she is better than I am.

How cute are the leaves!

And she made the little names for each dish!

How creative is that?

She did such a great job!

And now for the main attraction!  Our little Birthday girl, Ansley!  So, so sweet!

Hope you enjoyed my post for today and enjoy the rest of your week!

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #12, God's Will

I had really been thinking about this Glory Art Challenge for a while and I could never get the right feeling about it, but I saw this verse printed out on PINTEREST and I just had to use it, Luke 22:42.  I am going to share with you Luke 22:41-42, "And He withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”  Wow, what Jesus did for us!

As I thought about this, I thought about how easy it is for us to turn from doing God's Will to doing what we want to do.  Instead of praying about things, we try to fix it ourselves and only after it gets so bad do we think about prayer.  And do you know that is one thing God wills us all to do is to kneel down in prayer and talk to him.  You see Jesus could have said, No I am not going to the cross that is too painful, but instead he knelt down before the Father and asked the Him about it.  He wanted to do His Father's will.  That is what I want to do with my life is to do my Father's Will.

Let's continue on with the next verse in Luke 22, verse 43 says, And there appeared to Him an angel from heaven strengthening Him."  See God heard Jesus' prayer to Him and He sent an angel to strengthen Him.  Even though our prayers may not always be answered the way we want, if we stay in the will of God and follow Him, He will give us the strength and comfort we need to get through the difficult times in our lives.

Here is another verse that goes right along with this.  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always  pray without ceasing,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.  This is what we should do; rejoice, pray, and give thanks in all circumstances.  Is this hard at times, YES.  But, we have a comforter and helper to get us through whatever happens in our life.  Trust Jesus, He will never let you down.

This morning when I was looking through our photos I took when we went to the Grand Canyon this summer, I knew exactly what I was going to do with this verse.  The picture is one I took as he was looking out over the Grand Canyon and all I did was add the verse and then framed it.  I printed the picture to fit into a frame I already had and I loved it.  This is art to me.

The 1st picture I did by adding a frame on My Digital Studio.  This shows you the beautiful colors of the actual photo.  I did this because I could not get a great photo in the frame I had.  I may also have to go and buy a white frame as I do love it in the white frame here.

Now here is the actual photo framed in the frame I had at home.  The photo looks just like the on above in this frame, but I could not get the color to come out good.  I just love it.

Here is a song I just love that "God will Make a Way for Me".  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Also, please check out Patter's post as I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Hope you all have a blessed and wonderful weekend.

Sprinkles of Life Card Set & more

Happy Hump Day everyone.  Yes it is Wednesday and I have a few things to share with you today.  I purchased this stamp set from Stampin' Up! recently called Sprinkles of Life.  I just love the sayings and also the stamps, plus they had a coordinating punch which made it that much easier.  I was looking through my stash and found these card and envelopes that I had purchased from the clearance rack at Stampin' Up!  That made my day as I started stamping.  I also used other stamps as there were 12 note cards and 12 envelopes.  So here they are and really cost me very little.  The lighting was not really good, but you get an idea of what they look like.

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #14, Maturity

Welcome everyone to Challenge #14 of Glory Art Scripture by Patter Cross.  For this challenge she chose Maturity and what a great subject.  I think we all to some extinct want to just sit and watch and just want to be babies forever.  I know in the work place there are times I just want to go home and put a pacifier in to keep from crying.  What about you?  But in all things we need to grow up even in our faith with Jesus Christ.

Patter had a wonderful devotion for this challenge and you can check it out here.  I love how she started out salvation "on the bottom rung of the ladder" and to move up we have to climb the ladder.  You can't get anything done at the bottom.  Just as an infant cannot stay on milk and needs more solid food as they grow, so do we.  I find myself going backwards at times and that is why I have to search his word and pray daily or I will continue to move back to the milk stage and we cannot live just on milk.  As Patter said we will become "malnourished Christians."

That is why I chose the verse I used on my mixed media canvas, Ephesians 4:1-3,  "As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.   Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.  Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."

You see, if we live the life worthy of the calling we have received from God and humble ourselves, love one another, as He has called us to do, keep unity we will be growing in Christ and becoming more like Christ.  That is our ultimate Goal to be more like Him and in doing so others will want to follow our example.  Right now, I don't know if there are many who would want to follow my example, especially at work.  I am really working on that situation and praying hard.  And, God is working on me.

So here is my mixed media piece.  I forgot to add where the scripture came from and noticed it once I started to post the pictures.  I am going to write it on the canvas so everyone knows where the scripture came from.  Hope you enjoy my "Glory Art" today.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Glory {Art} Art Scripture Challenge #13, Religion

Good Morning all.  Hope your weekend has started off well.  Mine has because I started my morning reading the Bible and then wanted to work on my Glory Art Challenge, so more of searching God's Words for us.  Patter had given us the word "Religion."  What does Religion mean?  I have had so many people say, "I am not a religious person, or religious people just seem so angry."  What I have told others in my life as a Christian is: "I am not a religious person either, I just love the Lord and want to do all I can for him.  It is a matter of a relationship, not religion."  I love this quote that Patter used in her post on Religion, ""Religion is about our attempt to reach God. The Gospel is about the truth that God reached out to us. God is not about religion, He is about relationship."

So as I was looking for a text I wanted to use for this subject, for some reason I kept coming back to this stamp set I purchased ages ago from Our Daily Bread Designs called Children of God.  If we are a child of God, our demeanor, our actions, and our love for Him and for others should show this, not because me may be Baptist, Methodist or something else.  There was actually two verses in this stamp set that I had looked up when I was searching the scriptures on a relationship with God and that made a lot of sense when you look at, "Are you Religious, or do you have a Relationship with God.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." Luke 18:16

You see children come to God just as they are.  They have no doubts, no preconceptions about who he is.  They trust Him and love Him.  But we as adults seem to look at what we have been taught all our lives and sometimes this can cause us to be very hypocritical when we should not be.  Children are who they are and that is just it, humble in everyway.  This is going totally different than when I first started thinking on it this morning.  Now I feel led to go to a scripture that I read first thing this morning, so I will share it with you now.

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.  1 Corinthians 10:31.

That is what I want is to do everything to the glory of God an when people see me, they see Him.  I can assure you I have definitely failed greatly at this lately.  I want to be like that child, loving and holding out my arms to the one true God, worshiping my Lord and my Savior.

Whoever welcomes a Little child like this in My name welcomes Me! Matthew 18:5.

So here is my mixed media piece for today!

So please go and check out Patter's post on Religion.  You will be glad you did.  Hope you all have a wonderful day.  I love you all!

Anniversary Card for my Sweet Husband

Hello sweet friends.  After not posting for a month, can you believe 2 in 2 days.

Today, I have been married to my wonderful Husband for 41 years.  I can truly say I love him more today than 41 years ago.  Don't know what I would do without him.  He is a blessing to me. So I thought I would share the card I made for him.

I actually did this in a class I took a couple of months ago and just never shared it, but when I saw it I knew it is the anniversary card I  wanted to give my husband.  He is my anchor and God is his anchor and that is what makes it so true.  Thank you Lord for the anchor you have given me here on earth.

And of course here is the inside of the card.  I just added the Happy Anniversary and of course will write him some sweet nothing on the inside which will definitely inflate his ego, but what are us girls suppose to do?  Respect our husbands' and make them feel good about themselves.  And that is what I am going to do. :)

Hope you all have a wonderful week!  You are a blessing to me.

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #11, Share

Good Morning everyone.  Can you believe I have finally decided to share with you today.  It has been a busy month and I am thankful for God's previsions during this month.  My mom was in the hospital, my daughter was down for two weeks and then we went on vacation.  So no time to create or to stamp any.  Felt good to get back in my craft room yesterday and do some work.  Since I am so far behind in my Glory Art Scripture challenge, I thought I would share the mixed media canvas I created yesterday regarding, "Share."  Please check out Patter's post on this.  She kind of went from a different angle, but still within the same frame of sharing our Lord and Savior.

It took me most of the morning of studying and praying to decide what to use and then when the verse was chosen, everything else just fell into place.  My verse is Hebrews 13:16, "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have for such sacrifices are pleasing to God."  This I believe is not only talking about helping those in need and sharing of what you have with them, but sharing our Lord with people also.  When we do share with the needy or people having a rough time, we are also sharing Jesus with them.  That is a major part of sharing Christ and letting people see Him through us and through how we imitate Him.  I am so thankful for what Christ has done for me, I can't help but to share Him with others in whatever way I can.

So here is my mixed media piece today.  It is among my favorites.

My 5 year old grandson saw it and asked me if that was him and his dad!  I told him yes, if that was who he wanted it to be.  Then he wanted to know why his mom and sister were not in it.  The mind of a 5 year old!

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out Patter's post.  You will love it.

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #10, Still‏

Happy Friday!  I am off today as this is our holiday for the 4th of July.  So I am excited that I finally was able to get some work done around the house and then take pictures of my next Scripture Challenge.  The theme for this one was to be still before the Lord.  This is one I that need right now.  I actually have the verse I used on today's project tacked to my board at work.  But lately I am not sure that I have been still enough as work has really been stressful.  But after seeing Patter's post a couple of weeks ago, I have really tried to work even hard.  There was a song she posted to her site that just spoke volumes to me and I want you to hear it and hope it blesses you as much as it did me.  Jeremy Camp singing "Be Still".

How great was that?  I just want to be still before the Lord so that others can see Him in me.  I guess I will work on that until I finally leave this world.  My verse is Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”  Now all I used was the 1st part on my canvas, but I wanted you to see the whole verse.  Because, for Him to be exalted we must be an example, a witness of what He has done in our lives and in our hearts.  I just pray that I exalt Him in everything that I do.  That I can be still before Him and wait on Him to do the work in my life that I know needs to be done.

My canvas today is a 5X7 and I actually used an old stamp by Stampin' Up! that I have always loved.  It reminds me of me when I go to the beach.  I just see so much of God's glory there and it took me quite some time to find it.  I had not used it in a while.  But so glad I did find it because I love the outcome of this mixed media piece.  I hope you do also.

A close up of the girl!

And of the verse which is a poor sun, but a beautiful verse from God!

Well I hope you enjoyed my post today and may God bless you and have a wonderful 4th of July.

Sketch 366- Monday Lunchtime Sketch - Tutorial

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to this week's Monday Lunchtime Sketch.  I am really excited about the card I made for this sketch and I'll tell you why.

I woke up Saturday morning and had a dear friend on my mind that I have not seen in a while.  I really believe that God lays those on your heart that need prayer and encouragement, so I prayed for her and then decided to make this card for her that I am sharing with you today.  My husband tells me all the time that I have a talent and doesn't understand why I don't send out all these cards I make.  When he said it today, it really made me think.  Only takes a few moments to write an address on an envelope, put a stamp on it and off it goes to a person who may just need that little bit of encouragement that day.  So maybe I should listen to my husband as God could be using him to speak His message to me.

So without further ado, here is my sample for this week's sketch and I also will show you how I did the butterfly.

Now let me show you a little tutorial on how I did the butterfly.

I used the Sweet n' Sassy stamp set called "New Creature"  which you can find here.  I also used the "New Creature Dies" which coordinates with the stamp set and you can find it here.  So now on to my first photo and how I did it.

I used some spritzer's that I purchased with Stampin' Up! and I added ink drops and some water to the spritzer.  I also used some smooch spirtz that I got from Stampin' Up!, but you can purchase at Michael's or AC Moore and probably most craft stores.  I used the Water Color paper from Stampin' Up! as the base.  I then started spritzing and as you can see, got a little too much in the middle.  But that is OK, you can work around it.

Here is what it looked like close up once I finished spritzing.  You can see the shimmer from the smooch spritz I used as the final spray.

I then took the stamp set and stamped it in black and the bottom one in black and purple.  That is the one I used for the card today.

Then using my dies, I cut them out.

Here is a close up on the card.

Now you can do the same thing I did.  I do love this effect and it is almost like water coloring.

Hope you enjoyed your tutorial for today and please check out the rest of the design team samples.  I know you will love them and don't forget to play along with us for the next two weeks.

Have a wonderful week.

Sketch 365- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Hello all!  Well I am a date late in posting this as I was too busy yesterday and forgot to post it Sunday to post at 8:00 on Monday Morning, but that is OK.  At least I got it to our main blog in time for the Monday Lunchtime post.  So at least that part was done. I really enjoyed doing this card this week as I used a few different stamps for the front and inside.  Anyway, here is the sketch for this weeks challenge.

And here is my sample.

And the inside.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the rest of the design team samples and join in on our challenge.  Have a great week!
