Stamping 411 meets Lean on Me

Hi all!  I am in Las Vegas for a conference and had planned on posting this earlier but things kept getting in the way.  So here I am finally posting it.  I did love the sketch this week from Stamping 411 and wanted to use this paper and stamp set and now am glad I did.  I think it turned out wonderfully.
Here is a side view of the card!

and of course I did the inside!

I thought this verse went so well with the front stamp set, so I used it on the inside.

Since I am here and don't have all the items I used on this one, I will just say if you would like to know, please leave me a comment and I will try to put them on here when I get home.  Enjoy your evening everyone.  Getting ready to go out to dinner with some of the girls!

SU LateNightStampers Challenge/Case from Pinterest

Our Challenge over at LateNightStampers today is to case a card from Pinterest, so that is what I have done.  I have so many I have pinned and have cased a few of them, but this is one that I thought was so Clean and Simple yet very nice.  Now here is the card I cased and had pinned!  Guess you know I love it if I cased it.  Now to my card!

As you can see, I changed the colors up, did the ribbon different by adding a brad, but you can see it is still a case.  How do you get ribbon crooked?  Don't know, but I sure did! lol

Springtime Vintage/Stampin Queen's Sketch

Hello all and happy Sunday Morning to you!  Wanted to share with you today a card that was inspired by the Stampin Queen's Sketch Challenge.  Wonderful sketch this week and they also have a prize for one of the participants in this challenge.  Need to check it out!  I also did the herringbone technique again and enjoyed doing it!  Here is a video that I found for this technique.  What inspired that was seeing all these scraps laying around from last years SU Designer Paper called Springtime Vintage!  Great technique to be able to use some of those small strips up.  Here is the card I made!

The pink spritz you see on here is from the occasions mini and called Blushing Bride Smooch Sprtiz. Love using that stuff!

Here is the side view of the card!

Hymn & Scripture Challenge # 8, Christ Arose

I don't know about you, but I love this song!  Here is the chorus.

"Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!"

Now I am sitting here singing "Hallelujah" over and over as I know my Redeemer lives.  There are times I feel like David in the Bible and I need to just dance a jig and sing the praises of my Savior for all He has done for me. 2 Samuel 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.  You see David was not ashamed of his Lord and I don't want to be either. Now I am not sure He will call me to do a jig and I definitely cannot sing, but I do love to try and I love to sing unto my Savior!  Now if I could sing, this is how I would love to sing this song unto Him!

The reason for the scripture that I chose is that God loved me so much that He gave His only son for me.  I have accepted Him as my Savior and now because He arose there will come a day when I will also arise to meet Him in the air!  How exciting is that?  He arose a victor and now because of Him I can arise a victor over sin!

I encourage you to check out Patter's Post as she really shows you in scripture the proof of His Resurrection.  I am also entering this into the weeks Little Birdie Blessings Scripture Thursday and Word Art Wednesday!

Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge

I was so excited to get to play tonight.  I have been so busy lately that it seems I am not in my craft room near enough, but isn't that the way it always is.  Well I had been wanting to use one of my digital images from Sweet and Sassy and this week the challenge over at The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge blog is to choose one of their old sketches.  So I decided to choose SSS88 which you see below and can find the original post for it here!  I love being able to look through all the sketches and then decide on one.

Now here is my card!  I just love this little mouse named Cocoa and He also has a little girlfriend named cookie!  She is cute also.  Anyway, I just printed the digital image off, colored it and then cut it with an oval.

Here is a side view of the card!

And of course the inside which I stamped the verse a little crooked, but who would really know it did not come that way.  My dear daughter says it gives it character and if it was to be perfect you would just buy it.  So with this one, I am going to agree with her! lol

SULateNightStampers Challenge/Color Challenge

Good Monday Morning!  Hope you are all doing well and had a very restful weekend!  Mine was a busy weekend as always with soccer games and family activity and I am thankful to have my wonderful family around me all the time.  So now on to my card!  Today's card was inspired by two challenges.  First off our SULateNightStampers challenge for this week is a color challenge.  You are to use the colors green, yellow and pink.  So for my color combination I used Pear Pizzazz (green), Daffodil Delight (yellow) and Regal Rose (pink).  To get me off on the right foot, I decided to use the sketch from Stamping 411 for this card.  They have such great sketches every week and I enjoy playing along.

Here is a side view of the card!

And a close up of the center of the card!

And of the popped up flower I cut out!  Now you can really see all those close cuts I did not make!

I always stamp up under where the popped up flower is going to be so I know how to place it and it gives it more dimension.  I also used the rock and roll technique on the top flower.

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Set: Field Flowers
Card Stock: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight
Designer Series Paper: Beyond the Garden, Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty Paper (Christmas Mini)
Classic Ink: Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Regal Rose

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you enjoy your Monday!

Friends/Try Stampin' On Tuesday

This is one of my favorite stamp sets and yet I do not use it very often.  But as soon as I saw the sketch over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday, I knew this was the sketch for this stamp set.  I actually brought out one of my older stamp sets that I forget I have called "Oval All" and it is such a great sentiment stamp set and worked wonderfully with this card.  And, another thing I don't think about doing is distressing which I really like, so I made up for lost times on this one card.  I think all the edges are distressed and I love it! LOL

Here is a side view of the card!

And a close up of the center of the card!

And I even distressed the inside by tearing. I just love tearing!  Well to be honest I just love paper crafting!

More Wedding Scrapbook Layouts

I wanted to share with you some more of the pages I did for the Wedding book for my daughter.  Here is another one of my favorites.  Scott wanted to make sure that she was part of the wedding so he bought her a necklace which he wanted to give to her during the ceremony.  This photo was taken during the ceremony and I thought turned out so well.  It is something to say "that you will always be a part of my family."

The following page was taken during the photo session right after the ceremony and is of the girls in the wedding.

And another one of my two granddaughter's!  Aren't they the sweetest things?

The one on the left is the youngest and is already taller than my oldest granddaughter.  They are 18 months apart and act like sisters instead of cousins, even fight like my two daughter's did at their age!

All items used are a part of My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up!

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!

SULateNightStampers Challenge/Sketch

This week our challenge at SULateNightStampers is this sketch and I had a lot of fun with it as I actually used My Digital Studio (MDS) and made a Hybrid card!  I have been playing a lot with MDS lately and really enjoying it.  But even then you still have to add some stamping to it just to make you fill like you have done something. LOL

Here is my sample for this weeks sketch!

As you can see I used my favorite designer paper which is Attic Boutique!  It is just so easy to work with.  And, the good thing about MDS is it never retires!  Loving it!

Here is the side view of the card!

And an inside view of the card!  Now here is where I did some stamping!

And a close up of the verse I used!

Thanks for looking today and don't forget to play along with us this week at SULateNightStampers

Happy I do Day!

Good Morning friends and Happy Easter to each of you!  What a wonderful day to remember the Lord and what today means to Christians!  Today we celebrate the rising of our Lord Jesus Christ who rose from the dead after 3 days and therefore conquered death for those who will believe in Him!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again
unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
1 Peter 1:3
We have hope now because of Jesus!  And this could be a "Happy I Do Day" for you if you accept Jesus as your Lord!  What a wonderful journey it has been for me!

This card was inspired by two challenges this week!  One of them was Stamping 411 sketch of course and the other was a new challenge I found yesterday, Pals Paper Arts, which is a color challenge.  I also did a hybrid card again as I had been wanting to use this cute image of the bride and groom.  Now once I printed it out, I actually stamped the "happy I do day" from the stamp set Word Play on there with chocolate chip ink.  I was very happy with the outcome.

Here is a side view!

And of course I did do the inside and used another stamp for that called God's Blessings stamped in Chocolate Chip also!

Happy Birthday Vintage Style

Happy Good Friday to all my friends out there!  Well it is rainy and cold here, cold meaning in the 50's and not to get higher than 61 degrees here.  We have been having 70's and 80's so this is cold to us right now.  My granddaughters have even been swimming in the pool which is still too cold for me!

Today I am sharing a card with you that I did last night and it was inspired by the sketch over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  Vintage is not usually my style, but I wanted to give it a try and I am happy with the outcome.  I actually used a technique that I saw used on canvas and can not remember the name of it!  But I actually used a lacy type  of paper which is under the Happy Birthday and was sent to me by Nancy when I won blog candy from her blog "The Nickel Nook," and a sponge dauber.  That is where you see all the extra design on my Designer Paper.  It was fun to do and actually I thought turned out cute.  Might be called stenciling.  Anyway, it was fun and as I said before a little out of my usual!  I also spritzed it with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz which added even more pretty to it!

Here is a side view of the card!

And a close up of the tag!

Hope you can see that gold glow to it!

And love those insides!

Items used are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted!
Card Stock: Whisper White, Soft Suede
Designer Series Paper: Attic Boutique
Classic Ink: Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight
I used the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle Punch to do the end of the tag for both pieces sticking the paper in from the back.  Wanted that scallop edge!
Made the flowers by using 1 1/4" and 1 3/4" circle punches and cutting it spiral and rolling into the flower
Bird Builder Punch
Button and white baker's twine
The design and little pearls were part of my blog candy from Nancy

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Herringbone Technique/Workshop

I just wanted to share with you guys what we made tonight at my first stamp club meeting since I have stopped being the demo.  And, boy did I have fun!  No worry or having to get anything together, just a great stress reliever!  Yea!!!!!!  And, Nancy Lewis was just the best demonstrator as she had a technique to share with us that I have not seen or done before.  It is called the herringbone technique and it is wonderful.  Here is the card we made using this technique.

How cute is this?  And, this is my first time doing it!  So of course Nancy's card looked a lot better than mine.  The paper used is the Attic Boutique which I love anyway, but was perfect for this card!  Here is a tutorial I found by searching!  Hopefully it will help to show you how this technique is done!

Now here is a gift card that we also made tonight and also made an envelope to go with it using the new
Simply Scored Diagonal Plate.  It makes a great envelope!

Now here is the gift card holder closed.

And again with the envelope we made!

Thanks Nancy for a wonderful time tonight and the ones that did not make it, I am sorry I had to show you these great items.  Now you are sad! LOL

Have a great evening everyone!

My Digital Studio Hybrid/Unscrpted Sketches

This is a hybrid card that I put together last night using the scripture from last weeks Word Art Wednesday!  I really loved the way they did the scripture.  Also when I saw the sketch from Unscripted Sketches, it just all seemed to flow right into place.

Now isn't this such a great scripture: My love for Him comes as a result of His loving me first. 1st John 4:19.  Because He loved me, I can now love Him!  His love for me was a lot greater than my love for Him.  It just blows me away to think of Him being a sacrifice for me!  I am so thankful for that sacrifice and for that love!

Here is a closer view of the center of the card!

I did not realize until now that I had almost covered up the verse it came from with flowers, but you can still see it.  And here is a side view!

All items used are from My Digital Studio and verse from Word Art Wednesday!
Designer Series Paper: Attic Boutique
Attic Boutique Elements

Thanks for stopping by and hope your week starts out beautifully!
