Simple yet Elegant

I just wanted to do a simple and clean cut card and looking in the mini, I saw this one and decided to case it. I did not have the Patterned Pines hostess set, but I did have an old Stampin Up Stamp set called Laced Snowflakes from 1998 I think. Anyway, I used it and it still turned out quite cute. I did ad the shimmer paint to the star and to the center snow flake. Sometimes you forget to make it simple and it will still turn out very nice. It was one of those night where you don't have time to do very much, but at least want to put your hands on the stamps. (could that be considered an addiction) Thanks for looking.

Happy Anniversary

I love this stamp set and have had it for probably 3 years. It is so versatile and can be used for so many things. The name of it is Close as a Memory and is in the Stampin Up idea book and catalog. I decided to use it today when I saw this sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch and also knew I could use my shimmer paint again. You can't see it very well in the picture, but the flowers do shimmer nicely on the card. I also thought since my sister's anniversary was coming up shortly, I would make it an anniversary card. It also was a good reason to play with everything this afternoon.

What a relaxing afternoon this is! It has rained most of the weekend and yesterday I worked on getting ready for a card stamp-a-stack, and today I have just played. Playing is the most fun when you are stamping. You get to do things that you normally don't do. I saw this box over on Kerin Sylvester's blog, Stamps, Paper,Glitter, and had to try it out myself. I thought it turned out so cute, but when I finished I realized I should have turned the ornaments toward the front of the box. Oh well, I will use it anyway. Too cute not to and most people would not recognize the mistake. (I didn't, my husband told me. lol) To get directions for the box, click here.
I am thinking about doing this box at my next workshop. It is really easy and I think those girls would enjoy it. A friend of ours saw it and wanted me to make three for him for Christmas presents for his daughter and 2 daughter-in-laws. Thanks for looking.

I have been working all day on a Christmas Card Class where we will be making 2 each of the above cards. I tried to get everything priced out and ready so I would be able to let everyone know on Monday what the cost is for the class. I thought I would share 3 of the new stamp sets from the "holiday mini catalog" from Stampin' Up! (actually 4) I did a class with these ladies last year and it was their first time stampin. It was a fun time, but a tiring time and we left Peggy's house trashed. I also did one with them this summer where we did some all occasion cards and a box for the cards. It turned out better, because they knew a little bit more. So I am really excited to do this one with them in October. I hope they like the cards. I am using the following stamp sets: "Holy Family", "Delightful Decorations", "Sweet Centers", and also for the sentiment I used "Four the Holidays". All of those are from the Stampin' Up! mini catalog. This is the best mini I have seen since I have been buying from Stampin' and of course selling. I also used one older set from the regular catalog called "A Flower for all Seasons". I use it quite often and actually made a fall card at my last workshop from this set. More Shimmer Paint

I thought I would get this post up quickly before I had to leave this morning. I had to do one more card with the shimmer paint that is in the "holiday mini catalog" and I just love it. I also used a sketch from paper craft planet and the colors from Christian Paper Crafts color challenge. Who would have ever chose Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Close to Coco and yet the colors blend so well. I used the upsy daisy stamp set by stampin' Up! and sponge daubers to put the colors and shimmer paint on the stamp, the close to coco classic ink for the sentiment. Thanks for looking.

Ghostly

This stamp set is just too cute and I have already had most of my customers to order it. It is called "Twick or Tweet." There are just so many options. (to see another card I made with most of the adorable stamps in the set click here) I used the MOJO Monday sketch for this card and thought the ghost were perfect for the sketch. I also love the circles. It just seems to add to the card. I guess that also qualifies me for another card for the Paper Makeup Monday Challenge.

I showed it to my husband and he said, "shouldn't you be using black and orange for Halloween." Men just don't get it! But, he did like the card, so I guess he is alright in my book. Thanks so much for looking.

Delightful Decorations

I just love this set that is in the Stampin' Up! "holiday mini catalog". And, now I love the new shimmer paint that is in the mini catalog. I used the Champagne Mist. It just really brightens up a card, especially when you are using the DSP "Holiday Lounge." That Taken with Teal color is the best, so bright and cheery. I used the sketch over at Christmas and Birthday Cards. Isn't it a great sketch for this stamp set. And since I used 4 punches, I think I qualify for the Paper Makeup Monday Challenge, to get punchy. I also used the whisper white card stock and the Sahara sand. The 1/4" grosgrain ribbon is actually tempting turquoise, but it matched so I used it. The "Merry Christmas" came from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set which covers every event you would ever need. Thanks for looking.

Scapbooking/Cardmaking Day

A group of my customers and friends got together on Saturday to do a stampin event. We all just brought our own supplies and did whatever we needed to do. Some made Halloween cards, some scrapbooked and others just made general cards. It was a great time and I do believe we all got a lot accomplished. Everyone wants to make it a bi-monthly event and so our next date will be November 21st. I know what I will be finishing up that day, Christmas Cards. Thanks for looking!

Celebrate the Season

OK guys, I went back a year with the colors from stampin up to create this card for Christmas. If you remember this was some of the Christmas paper from last year using Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss. I can not remember the name of the DSP because I just had a few pieces left and had thrown away the cover for it. I guess I could have looked it up in the catalog from last year, but I was just too lazy. I did want to get the sketch done for the MOJO Monday, so I did this last night after church. The reason this paper was out is a group of us will be doing a stamp and crop or what we are calling it "A Scrapbooking/Cardmaking Day". We are just getting together to do what we want, but to enjoy company as we do it. So since I am planning on scrapbooking Christmas from 2008, I went through my old stuff to take with me and try to use it up. I used the circle scissor cutter for the large circles, the scallop circle punch and the 1-3/8" punch for the center. The stamp set is retired and called "So Many Scallops". Stampin Workshop

Have you ever had a workshop and thought you had it all together just to find out after you got there that you had not scored some of your paper for the cards. Well I did! I pulled out the items for the Halloween card and had not scored any of the card stock for the card. At least I did remember to cut them out and bring them. I guess that is one in my favor. That is another thing, I am always afraid I will leave something of importance at home. Oh well enough of that, the workshop turned out great and I think everyone had a good time. These are the two cards we made last night. The treat cup on the left and the hinged card on the right.

This is what I made for the hostess gift. I made this bag and put the sample ribbon and the punched decoration in decorated cellophane bags and then put them into the gift bag. It was so easy, yet something that the person can use in their card making or scrapbooking. I stamped one of each of the four decoration stamps in 5 different colors in the stamp set Delightful Decorations (mini catalog). I then put them together with the clips you see in the picture which you can purchase from stampin up's big catalog, Clips assortment item #112580. They are really neat for scrapbooking and card making. The ribbon is also from the mini catalog and I cut a yard of each one. The gift bag is made from the incolor collection, crushed curry cardstock and razzleberry lemonade DSP. The stamp on the bag is from a hostess set "Of the Earth". Hubby's Birthday

Not only is it my Mother-in-laws birthday tomorrow, it is my husband's birthday on Monday. So I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday to do his birthday card. I used some retired DSP from last year and a retired in-color from last year, Baja Breeze. I still love that color. I also used the same stamp set that I used for my Mother-In-Law's card, Party Hearty. I thought it turned out very nice and does look like a man's card. I used Kraft card stock as the card and the other colors in the DSP or Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze. My husband is so great, even though he does irritate me at times and will probably check out my blog before his birthday. I am taking a chance but if he does, he will see how much I love him and appreciate the card that much more. I guess he will also see that he irritates me at time. Oh well, I am sure I irritate him also at times. lol Thanks for looking.

Welcome Fall

Fall colors! What is the definition of fall colors. While looking at the in colors in Stampin' Up!, these colors reminded me of fall, so I decided to do this card with the in-colors, Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango and use the DSP Razzleberry Lemonade. I also wanted to use something different as far as an image and of Course this stamp set "Beary Best Friends" seemed to work. Now does it look like fall to you? I sure hope so. I used a sketch from Paper Craft planet and chose the fall theme because of the Challenge over at Our Creative Corner.

Happy Birthday Bag and Card

Hello all, I decided to make a bag for my Mother-in-law's birthday gift to go with her card that I posted last week. Here it is along with the card. I thought it turned out so well and i used a 12 X 12 piece of card stock. I have a scarf and earrings to go into the bag. The bag measures 4" tall by 8" in length. I could have cut off some of the side and made it taller, but I wanted to see how it turned out using the whole piece of 12 x 12 paper. Not bad for not having a recipe. I of course used the Thoroughly Modern DSP from Stampin' Up! and the Stamp Set Party Hearty for the cupcakes and party hats. To make the bag, I scored at 5" and 7" on one side and then to make the 1" turn down to see the other side of the paper of for the top of the bag (on the same side) I scored 1" and at the 11" mark. Then I turned the paper and scored on the 2" and 10" mark.
Cut out to the two inch mark on each side to make the sides and that is about it. How easy is that. I then punched holes in the side and ran the ribbon through for the handle. I used the in color ribbon, Bermuda Bay.

I did finish off the card from the other day when I posted and have attached a picture of the inside of the card where I used "God's Blessings" stamp set for the message and also used the gift stamp from "Party Hearty" to complete it. stampin Christmas

This is a card I did from the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge. What a great sketch and I thought it turned out great for this stamp set that is in the Stampin' Up! "holiday mini catalog". I am trying to figure out what cards I am going to do for two Christmas Card Classes I will be holding in October. So that is why I am making so many Christmas Cards. Takes a lot of stampin to come up with the right cards that look good, but yet don't take a lot of time. I have also posted two more cards that I put together last night. Some turn out great and others don't quite make it, but I am not one to throw out the "not so good ones". By doing this, I also end up with quite a few cards to send out. How great is that?

Country Morning

I did this card this morning, but just now got around to posting it. It of course is what? MOJO Monday and this is the card I created from the MOJO Monday Sketch. I had kind of left the in-colors for a while and thought this was a good time to get back into them. I used the Crushed curry and dusty durango card stock along with the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. It actualy turned out to look fallish which is what I was going for. I love it when things work out. I also used the Hostess Stamp Set "Country Morning". It all came together fairly easy. I may have put a little too much color in the rooster, but I do believe he could get a girlfriend looking like that, don't you!

1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon in Crushed Curry and Whisper White Card Stock. Stamped the saying in Basic Brown Classic Ink. Used the markers, crushed curry and dusty durango and water color pencils to color in the rooster and eggs.
