Suo only challenge-Happy Birthday

There is a new challenge over at Stampin Up Only challenge blog. For this challenge we were to make a birthday card. Sitting there on my table was the Create A Cupcake stamp set, so I Thought just use that.  And as I was going through my embossing folders, I found the SU Confetti Embossing folder and it had never been used.   Also, the center of the confetti embossing folder was an oval, so I used the Oval dies.  So, here is the outcome!

Thanks for stopping by, now go get those old stamps, dies, punches, and embossing folders out and make some cards.

The Paper Players: PP487-CAS with sparkle

was excited to stamp today and was looking for a challenge and happened to find this great challenge over at The Paper Players blog.  As I had already pulled out one of my old stamps (Motorcycle) again, I decided to use it to make yet another card and use it for this challenge for a CAS card and add some sparkle.  So here is my challenge card!

For this I used the red sparkle paper for the pennant, so cute!

Here is the first card I made and definitely like the one above better.

Thanks so much for stopping by and take out those stamps and get to work.

Owl Punch, Using Old Stuff

Well, saw my owl punch sitting on my shelf and thought wow let me use that old punch.  I had seen something like this on Pinterest so thank you Pinterest for the idea.  I also used a die cut I got at A C Moore ( hate they are going out of business) for very little, a Love Nichole feather die.  It seemed to match the theme of the card.  Alway remember to look at the old stuff. You can really make some great cards out of them.  Sentiment came from an old stamp-set by SU called Happiest Birthday Wishes.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Monday!

Stampin Up Only Challenge, Embossing

Well here I am again. how great is that. I am playing almost everyday with my stamps for at least 30 minutes or so.  I am just looking at my stamps and picking one.  Here is one I used called Apothecary Art, and then I water colored the flowers with a blending pen. tThe sentiment in the middle came from  Messages for Mom, another old stamp set.  I then used an embossing folder from Stampin Up, unsure of name, ran it through the big shot and then ran my white ink pad over the top.  You  just got to love it.  Thought this card would be great to send out for some encouragement right now.

I am using this card for the Stampin Up Only challenge.  Hope you enjoy!

Hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

Stampin up only challenge

Hi everyone! I’m back again with a card I created for the stampin up only challenge.  How great is that. Been a while since I did any challenges and this stay at home quarantine has got me stamping again.  Something I have always loved.

There challenge for this was a sketch challenge using one of the cards from the SU spring catalogue on page 42. I am so happy with the way this turned out. Here is my card using the butterfly dies and of course some old DS paper I had.  Sentiment came from stamp set six sided sampler.

Unsure of how this was going to turn out, but I love it.

Thanks for stopping by on this beautiful Easter Weekend.

Lots of Stamping Going On!

During this Season in our lives, I seem to be reaching out to God even more so.  I love my Lord, but I think we seem to not pray or seek Him as much or praise Him when we are fine, no sickness, and everything is great.  So it really makes us think about how faithful God is to us all the time. He loves us even when we are slack.

Since we are quarantined to our homes right now and doing social distancing, I have also been stamping quite a bit over the last week.  I forgot the joy it brings to me.  Thankful God slows us down to bring joy into our lives.

I actually joined in on the Sweet ‘n Sassy Birthday weekend honoring Korin, owner of Sweet ‘n Sassy.  It was a blast.  I did some techniques I had not done in ages or at all.  Here are some of the cards I did.

Sponging inside and out

Using all my scraps, inside and out

Make a card with a pocket on it. Inside and out.

Paper piecing, loved it!

Color challenge

Acrylic Paint Swiping (so much fun)

Ink Blending on the butterflies! Loved doing this.

Ok, there you have it. My weekend fun! Hope you enjoyed looking and remember that God loves you and is still in control.  I am praying for our world and leaders during this time of uncertainty. May God heal our Land!

Birthday Cards for Grandkids

I had someone remind me last night that I had not posted in a while.  Well, when I retired in June I planned on doing a lot of posting and that has not worked out.  So I thought today would be a beginning maybe to a new start on my blog.  Here are two cards that I did for my grandson and granddaughters birthdays.

Ansley turned 4 and I used an old stamp set by stampin up called Pretty Princess.

For Nathan's birthday I used the Balloon Pop-up Thinlits die from Stampin Up.  This created a shaker fun shaker card.

Thanks for stopping by and hopefully will be adding more as we go along.

Glory Art Rewind 2018 - Strength

What a great way to share the strength that God has given me than through Isaiah 40:31.  That is the topic for the April Challenge that Patter posted, and you can find her post here.  You should stop by and read her post as she is such a great writer and always challenges me to work harder on my devotions.  And now that I am retired, yes tomorrow will be 2 weeks, I plan on working more in my devotions and even spreading my wings a little more with these challenges.

Again, I chose Isaiah 40:31 to be my focal point for this challenge as it has always been a verse I would go to when I felt down or troubled. It always reminded me to wait upon the Lord and He would strengthen me and with everything going on in my life, I would not be weary or faint.
but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strengththey shall mount up with
wings like eaglesthey shall run and not be wearythey shall walk and not faint.

How awesome is our God that he already knows there are going to be times in our lives when we need the strength that only comes from Him.  I am so thankful to be a part of His family.

Here is my bible journaling for Strength!

For this page, I used the ODB stamp set On Eagles Wings.  For the scripture I used Stampin' Up! markers to color the scripture and then stamped it.  I also used a cloud punch and then using SU inks, I sponged clouds all around the page.  I stamped the eagle and colored it with Faber Castle Artist Pens.  It really turned out great and I owe it all to another person's journaling I found on Pinterest.  You can find her post here.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and hope I have helped to bless you in some way.  It is only through my faith in Jesus Christ.

Glory Art Rewind 2018 - Religion

Happy Monday everyone.  I took a few minutes yesterday to do some journaling in my bible.  I am trying to do the Glory Art Rewind 2018 challenge that Patter Cross does and wow, what a great one for this month of April.  Her post is a must see and read for this one.  You can find it here.

When I was reading the verse that I underlined below, it just spoke to me regarding this subject and that I (we) have to be very careful of what I hear and believe an even listen too. There are many religious people out there that know the bible, but do no know the Jesus of the Bible.  I try to always go to God's word when things might not sound right, the truth will come from God's Word.  I pray that the Holy Spirit will give me discernment to make the right decisions on what God is speaking to me.  There are many false prophets out there and if I am not walking in Him (Jesus), rooted in Him, built up in Him and established in His faith, I will not be able to discern what is right and what is wrong.  Here is the verses I underlined.

It also showed me that it is not about Religion, where I go to church or what denomination I am, it is about an intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.  When you have that relationship with Jesus, when you know Him intimately, you will be able to discern what is right and what is not.  I am growing each and every day in His Word and in Him.  It is not an easy journey folks, but it is a rewarding journey.

Below is my journaling for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by to see me and hope you are blessed today.

Glory Art Rewind 2018 - Forgiveness

Good Morning everyone.  Hope your week is going well.  As you know, I have just started my journey on this Bible Journaling adventure and so far, I am loving it.  It was so scary the first time I did it as I did not want to mess up my page.  Well I have come to the conclusion that no one seems to see the mistakes, but me, and some of them are big.  Plus I get so into it and what I am going to write on my page.  It is just what I need to relax and enjoy God's Word.

I am also enjoying my return to the Glory Art challenges by Patter Cross and this month's challenge is on Forgiveness.  You can find her great post here.  I love her post and hope you drop by her blog to check it out.

As I thought about forgiveness and all the things that have happened to me in the last 5 years, all I could think about once I saw the scripture, Ephesians 4: 29-32 was that we all need to Be Kind to One Another AND Forgive!  Ephesians 4: 29-32 says, "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."

As I thought on these verses and all that happened between me and one other person, and how everything got thrown all out of proportion, and then when I ask forgiveness and even bare my soul to this person, talk is spread even to the point that they try to pull my daughter in and have her take sides.  I had no idea this was going on until my daughter finally told me.  I knew there was talk, but to try and sway my daughter, wow.  Needless to say, it has taken me years to finally get this out of my mind and not to think about it daily.  I would pray and cry out to God to help me to just forget it, and finally as I continued to pray and ask God for His help, I have finally forgiven this person for what she has done and I really fill sorry for her.  It took me away from a church that I love, my husband and I and also my daughter, but God has blessed us with another church that is such a blessing to us.  I do know that we have to be careful how we handle things as it did begin with me trying to tell her something in love about hurting someone else and she got upset with me and I did not finish my conversation in the best way.  That was the reason for my apology to her and to ask her to forgive me.

God asked in these verses that we should let no corrupting talk come out of our mouths, but only such is good for building up.  He also says to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave us.  I have to forgive!  It only holds you captive when you continue to hold on to unforgiveness.  From experience, I am saying if you are holding on to unforgiveness, cry out to our Savior to help you to overcome.  I can say with all honesty, He has helped me to do just that.  I now can speak to this person, pray for this person and love this person.  I could not do that without my Lord and His strength.  I am so excited to be able to share Him with others and also share how He forgave me.

This is my journaling for this challenge of Forgiveness.  And, since this is only my 3rd journaling experience in my new bible, I can say it is my favorite thus far.

Thanks for stopping by and hope that God has blessed you with His word.

Hold On to Hope

Good Morning everyone!  I am so excited about this new stamp set from Stampin' Up! and also the dies that you can purchase to go with it.  It is called Hold on to Hope Stamp set and the Cross of Hope Framlits.  I made these cards along with duplicates of some last weekend and just getting around to posting.  The first one below I have already sent to a friend you just found out she has cancer and started Chemo last week.  I thought the message on the front was perfect for her.  It was so easy, as I stamped the cross in a light color and stamped the message on top in a lighter color.  Found some old designer paper (have tons of this stuff) and matched it all up.  So easy even a beginner could do it.

The two below, I used the stamps and used one of my markers to color the stamp, I stamped it and then used the die to cut it out.  I then cut out the cross using a die and kind of wrapped the vine around it.  Used a die for the little butterfly also after I stamped it.

And, wanted to make a manly card, so I did the same as the first only found some more designer paper that looked more manly and matched the colors to it.

Hope you enjoyed your time with me today.  I will say that my inspiration came from Pinterest.  There is so much out there and all you have to do is add your touch to it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Glory Art Rewind 2018 - Compassion

Happy Saturday afternoon to everyone.  Hope your day has been blessed.  I decided to work on the second Glory Art Rewind 2018 study.  The word for this study is compassion.  Patter had a wonderful post to share with us on Compassion.  You can find it here.

I am still not sure how I feel about my Bible Journaling, but I believe if it comes from the heart, then it is beautiful to God.  And it does come from the heart.  When I searched compassion, the verses that stood out to me was Michah 7:18-19, Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercyYou will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.

I am so thankful for a God who has COMPASSION on me to the point that He delights to show mercy on me and not only that, He forgives my sins and hurls them into the depths of the sea.  I can never ever thank him enough for that.

Here is the journaling I did this morning for this study.  This is only my second journaling in my Bible, so i am learning how this is done.  I am hoping that before I finish this year, I will know what I am doing.  But for now, I will go with my heart.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed my journaling.  May God bless and keep you!

Glory Art Rewind - Example

I am so excited to be doing the Glory Art Rewind 2018 Challenge this year with Patter at Triple the Scraps.  This  is my first time in about 2 years and I just wanted to start using my new journaling Bible and I thought what better time to start than with this Challenge.  To learn more about this challenge you can check it out here.  Glory Art Rewind 2018 Links here. And this is her link for her Study for Example here.  You will not want to miss this study, so please check it out.

This is my first time ever journaling in a Bible, so I am not quite as creative as I hope to be as I learn more.  But today this verse stood out to me for this first challenge using the word Example!  1 Timothy 3:14b  but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.  Wow, that is a big job for the believer or maybe just for me, because I find myself quite often saying things I wish I could take back, not showing people love, but judging - Yikes.  I am having to pray all the time for God to let me be the example that He has called me to be.  And this verse says it all.

My prayer is for God to give me the strength and the power to show His love, His conduct, His speech, His purity in everything I do each and every day.  I always think of Paul here when he said, "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ." 1 Corinthians 11:1.  You see that is what I want; for people to see Christ in me and to want what I have. Lord help me.

Here is my creation for "Example."  Hope it speaks to you as it spoke to me.

I hope in the future I can get more creative, but for now I will just let God speak through His Word.

Have a great weekend my friends.
