I had so much fun making this card. I used two challenges from CPC. One was the color challenge, to use turquoise, orange and white. So that gave me my colors. I had already picked the card I was going to case which was the other challenge on CPC. So, having all of this, I actually started with the flower. Since I knew the colors I needed, I punched out 6 pieces, two of each color, with the round scallop punch. I then used my bone scorer to distress it a bit by pulling it against the scorer all the way around. Then you kind of scrunch each piece, then open back up and punch a hole through the center and add a brad. I used the flower brad. Then I pulled out my DSP to see what I had to match. The bottom DSP, turquoise, is from the Pink Flamingo, so I thought that would be a good base. I then thought about the top and had nothing that had the orange and turquoise, so why not make it. So I used whisper white cardstock, pulled out my old stamp set, which is still active, "itty bitty borders" and stamped once in the Pumpkin Pie classic ink and then went over with the tempting turquoise classic ink and I then had a paper that would match all the colors. This is also what made me think this would be a great birthday card, bright and cheery. I then cut the orange paper and used the scallop edge punch for the border, adhered all together on the Pink Flamingo DSP, added the bottom flower brads, the ribbon and then adhered it to the whisper white base. Once finished I used the "Well Scripted" stamp set to stamp the happy birthday. It actually went together very easily. I attached the flower with glue dots. Following is the card I cased which was done by "gallery name" thumbunny. Thank you for a wonderful card to follow and the inspiration for my card.

Beautiful Wings
It is funny that I had just did a card with these colors and this DSP, Cottage Wall, and then the featured stamper on our demonstrator site had a card that was using the same items. All I had to do was change 2 things between the card I chose in her gallery and mine. So this is the card I made using her card as inspiration. The difference was I used the beautiful wings butterflies and the scallop edge punch. I kept with the very same colors and DSP that she used. It is fun to do those challenges and I enjoy seeing how the cards turn out verses the one I cased. Thanks for looking!

Is this not the prettiest paper. I just love the Cottage Wall DSP by Stampin' Up!. It has so much elegance. This is for the sketch challenge over at Stamping 411. I just love their sketches and love looking at all the other cards people make by using their sketches. It is just so much fun to see what everyone else comes up with and the funny things is they are all so different. Thanks for looking!

Thinking of You and Happy Birthday
Is this not cute! I hate to brag on myself, but I thought about this challenge most of the day! Stampin Connection, for Demonstrators, clean and simple challenge today was to make a 1 layer card. Of course I was working, but I kept thinking "how can I make a 1 layer card and make it look elegant?" Then I remembered a card I made at Christmas where I used an embossing folder and then put a oval around it so it would not emboss over it. Here are two different directions for doing it. #1 & #2. I actually bought a small wood oval frame unfinished at AC Moore and used that as the template and did not have to cut up my embossing folder. It actually works great as you can see. I had to finagle the embossing plates to get it to work right. I liked it so much that I made two cards. The first one above is made with the following Stampin' Up! items:
Stamp sets: Of the Earth (Hostess Set) Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock: Confetti Cream
Markers: Old Olive, Cameo Coral, Ruby Red
Ribbon is a retired Rose Red.
Finial Press Embossing Folder
This is the second card I made and it is made the very same way with the same stamp sets, except I used the following colors.
Whisper White Cardstock
Markers: Orchid Opulence, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Ribbon is the Rich Razzelberry Polka dot

Get Well Soon
This card was inspired by the sketch and color challenge over at CPC. The color challenge was to use Sherbert Colors (peach, light pink, light green and white). So I kind of made my own DSP by using the stamp set Cheep Talk by Stampin' Up! Then to complete the sketch I used the Wellness Wishes stamp set. I actually embossed the whole layer of green and white with the ribbon with the Finiale Press Embossing Folder. I thought it turned out really well. Thanks for looking!
Items used are all Stampin' Up!
Card Stock: Blush blossom, certainly celery, pretty in pink, Whisper White
Classic ink: Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom, Certainly Cellery
Markers: Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa

For You! Happy Moments
The inspiration for this card came from a sketch challenge on Stampin' Connection, a site for SU Demonstrators. I used one of the stamp sets in the sale-a-bration which you can get free with a $50 merchandise order. How great is that! I also used the Sending Love Specialty paper which actually sparkles and you can find it in the occasions mini catalog. So many new great items to choose from that even I am having a problem. See below for items used list!

Hi!
I got the Stampin' Up! "Hi Embosslits Die when they were on sale back in Decemeber. This is the first time I have used it and I really like it. It just turned out so cute. Actually, I did no stampin on this card. I used the very vanilla cardstock, very vanilla satin ribbon, the flock together DSP, Square ice brad and the daisy die cut. I thought the card turned out cute. I did use classic ink and a brayer to color the embosslits die to get the color on the 'hi". Thanks for looking!

Cute and Cuddly
I have a girl in our church who is having a boy and I figured I would go ahead and get the card for the shower ready. No sense in putting off what you can do now! The inspiration came from our stampin connection challenge to case a card from Ilina Crouse's gallery. Here is a card that I saw in Illina's gallery and I cased it to a certain point. Her's was a little different with a different stamp set, but pretty close. Anyway, it turned out just too cute. Stampin' Up! items used:

God Dwelling Place
All I could think about as I was using the Word we received for our Scripture 2010 challenge was, "Does God feel comfortable abiding in me. Do I make Him feel welcome. So I came up with the following page using the word Abide or Abides thinking of God's Dwelling place as a home. I also felt like using my own handwriting as part of the journaling for these scriptures and what it made me think of. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for dropping by!
Manhattan Flower
This is for a clean and simple challenge that I participated in on the Stampin Connection. It was really very easy. I just used the Stampin' Up! embossing folder Manhattan Flower. Took the Brayer and rolled it on the Melon Mambo classic ink pad and then rolled it on the impressions folder flat side. Then I put the front of the card into the embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot. This is how it came out. Is that not so cool and so easy. Then stamp the Love You Much on there and tie a ribbon and the card is complete. Nothing hard about it. Clean and simple just like it should be. Thanks for looking.

Flight of the Butterfly/Vintage Vogue
Flight of the Butterfly is one of my favorite stamp sets. From the first time I saw it, I knew it would be one that I would use quite often and it has been. I used the sketch from Stamping 411 to get started and then I was thinking of CPC's Friday's challenge where you would use a two-step stamp and of course this was the stamp set that popped first into my mind. So I did two challenges with one card. I love it when it works out like that. I also added the flowers and the leaves which comes with the new stamp set Vintage Vogue. It just added that right amount to the vanilla. All Stampin' Up! items used. See list below and thanks for looking!
Stamp Sets: Flight of the butterfly, Vintage vogue
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery
DSP: Flock together
Classic Ink: So Saffron, Certaily Celery
1/4" grosgrain certainly celery ribbon
Styled Vanilla hodgepodge hardware

A Kind Word
I have always loved this little girl swinging because it reminds me of Sundays when I was little and Sundays where we would dress up but as soon as we got home from church off came the shoes. So it was good memories. I used the Stamping 411 sketch for this card and thought it turned out well with the colors. Sometimes when you least expect it, you color the bird and blue and all of a sudden you decide that is your extra color. You see, I was just working on the stamped image and still did not know what other color I would use. So there are times when you start with the sketch, it just works out and gets you to the next level. I also used the peiceing technique for the dress and the hat. Thanks for looking.
Stampin' Up! items used:
Stamp Set: A Kind Word
Card Stock: Bashful Blue, Whisper White
DSP: 6X6 hostess paper from 2008-2009
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Basic Brown
Markers and ribbon, pearls from prettiest kit.

Thank you
Our church is doing a care package for a friend's son who is in Iraq. They asked me last night if I would make a card. I had no idea what to do until I saw this sketch on Stampin' Connection, a site for Stampin' Up! demonstrators and thought well, that will work with the Stars #2 die. And so, here is the card for our soldier thanking him for defending our country. I hope he likes it. My husband said "He's a man, he don't look at how cute it is." So here is hoping my husband is right. lol
