Magical Mermaid and Sea Life

Hi everyone, and hope you are all doing well.  I am back with two cards for you today.  The first card is for the challenges at the following places. First of all The Paper Players sketch! Second, The color throw down challenge.  And, finally Stampin Up Only challenge, which is designers choice. So with this card I water colored the paper and then black embossed all the stamping.

I am loving this stamp and the many different things you can do with it.

Now for my second card which is just an add on, is made by using the By The Tide stamp set.  I also used the oval dies to make the sponging for the sea life.

So there you have it. Hope I have inspired you today.  Thanks for stopping by.

"By the Tide" Assorted Note Cards

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

I would like to share with you the not cards (5 X 3.5) I am making for a smaller tin that I bought about 8 of when I caught them on sale.  I just love the size of these note cards and am doing a total of 15 for this box.  For the next week I will share with you each day the cards that are going into the box and I am donating to a non-profit organization, Gateway Landing, for a banquet and silent auction they will be having.  Every year between me and my demonstrator, we have a basket of cards and other items that are placed on the auction table.  God has blessed me with this unique gift of card making and I want to help out with it as much as possible.  So below is one of the cards in the set which helps you to see the detail a little better.  I do love this set call "By the Tide."  I hope you enjoy also.

The 4 cards in this set!

Have a great Monday everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Sketch 357- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Time for our Monday Lunchtime Sketch!  I know you are excited, because we have been having some wonderful sketches and this one is another great one.  I actual cut out two images for mine today and that is one reason I buy so many punches and dies is because I don't like cutting.  But for some reason I just had to use this stamp set.  First here is the sketch for this week.

Now on to my sample for this weeks sketch!

Now do you see why I used the By the Tide set by Stampin' Up!  It is one of my favorite and I used the blendabilities and love the outcome.

Here is a close up of the fish!

And yes, I did the inside also.

Well now it is your turn, so go by and see all the samples of the rest of the design team and link your sample to the bottom of the post.  I can't wait to see what you show us this week.

Sketch 351- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

It is time again for our Monday Lunchtime sketch and again, Mary Jo has put together a great sketch.  I love the ocean and I have a saltwater fish tank in my home, so today I wanted to use my two favorite sets from Stampin' Up!, By the Tide and By the Seashore.  It just reminds me of relaxation and comfort.  And right now that is exactly what I am striving for.

So here is the sketch for today!

And here is my version.  I will say I forgot to round the corners before attaching to the card, but I was ok with the square, so no need to change is my motto.

And yes, I did do the inside!

And a close up of the shells!

Hope you have enjoyed my card for today and hope you will join us this week for our Monday Lunchtime Sketch.  And don't forget to check out the rest of the design team samples.

Sketch 329- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready for our Monday Lunchtime Sketch!  I really love all of these sketches that Mary Jo is coming up with.  If you have not played along with our Monday Lunchtime sketch, you want to start with this sketch.  I am just loving it and what the design team has done with it.  So as not to make you wait any longer, here is my sample for this weeks sketch.

Isn't this just fabulous?  I saw a card done by Kathleen Wingerson on SplitCoastStampers and followed her technique on how to do a window sheet.  I ran the window sheet through the bigshot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder to get the effect of waves on it.  I do like how it turned out.  I attached the window sheet to the circle using the brads.  I also cut out the fish and popped him up before attaching the window sheet.  Gave so much dimension.

Here is a closeup of the fish and window sheet.  And, now you can see that I used my blendabilities on the fish.  Love those markers and I am getting better with them.

Here is a little bit more of the look of the window sheet embossing.

So what do you think?  Does it look like moving water.  It sure does to me.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to stop by and see all of our design team samples.  I know you are going to love them.

Sketch 318- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Happy Monday!  Well today Mary Joe out did her self with the sketch.  I just loved it, but it took me a couple of minutes looking at my stamp sets before I decided on "By The Tide."  It seems I use that one a lot with her sketches, but one difference.  This was the first time I used the lobster out of the set.  And, I love the way it turned out.  Probably if I re-did it, the only thing I would change is, move the lobster up a little.  But I still love it.  So here you go!

I did cut the lobster out, but first I stamped it on the Very Vanilla oval piece after I stamped the Happy Birthday which is from a retired set called "Elementary Elegance."  I was worried I would get it too high, so then I stamped the lobster again on very vanilla and put it over the already stamped part of the image on the oval.  You see I knew I would not be able to cut out the antennae (or a better name for it is whiskers).  So the reason for stamping it twice.  Always a reason for doing something, that is me. LOL

And now let's look at the inside!

For the inside I still used the "By the Tide" stamp set, but I also used "Remembering Your Birthday" stamp set for the sentiment.  Love that stamp set, actually love both stamp sets.

And here is a side view which kind of let's you see the dimension of the lobster!

Well thanks for stopping by today and hope your Monday is a Happy One!

Sketch 308- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Happy Monday to all of you.  Hope your weekend was just wonderful.  I had a goo weekend with some visitors on Saturday which was nice.  So now on to our sketch this week.

Loved the sketch Mary Jo has for us this week at Techno Stamper, but took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with it.  I finally came up with this using some of the latest techniques I had seen, like water color and spritzing the ink on.  Took me a while to decide I liked it as I almost did a new and different card.  I guess if time had not gotten in the way, I would have.  But the more I look at it the better I like it.  So here it is and please let me know what you think!

And, another view of the card!

Scallop Tag Punch and By the Tide - Fun!

We made a card in our last stamp club meeting using the Scallop Tag Punch and I just loved it.  So of course checked out Pinterest and saw all thee cards you can make using the Scallop Tag punch and I found this video which was great to follow.  Here is the direct link to u-tube!  But the first time I made it, I knew that I wanted to use the stamp set By the Tide and make it look something like an aquarium.  So here is what I came up with.

I just love it!  And here it is opened up!

I thought it would be a great note card or an encouraging card.

Sketch 304- Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I had a very nice weekend.  This past Saturday we celebrated by brother's 64th birthday and to be honest I was unsure he would still be here with us, but God saw the big picture.  He is still very weak, but I think he had fun.  I actually stayed Saturday Night with Mama and Joe and he was wore out.  I am sharing a photo of him a little farther down in the post.  But for now let's look at the card I created for this weeks Monday Lunchtime Sketch and the card I gave my brother for his birthday.

Here is the inside of the card!

I used Our Daily Bread designs on the inside cover because I thought this verse was so appropriate for his birthday card.

Here are a few pictures of Joe on his birthday! Yes the first one includes me and I am not sure what he is saying here, but he seemed happy.

Here he is blowing out his candles.  No we did not put 64 on there as I am not sure any of us could have blown out 64!!!!

And eating his cake!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you are very blessed as we have been.

And, don't forget to stop by Mary Jo's blog and check out all the samples from our DT team.

I am also linking this to the Word Art Wednesday challenge.
