Magical Mermaid and Sea Life

Hi everyone, and hope you are all doing well.  I am back with two cards for you today.  The first card is for the challenges at the following places. First of all The Paper Players sketch! Second, The color throw down challenge.  And, finally Stampin Up Only challenge, which is designers choice. So with this card I water colored the paper and then black embossed all the stamping.

I am loving this stamp and the many different things you can do with it.

Now for my second card which is just an add on, is made by using the By The Tide stamp set.  I also used the oval dies to make the sponging for the sea life.

So there you have it. Hope I have inspired you today.  Thanks for stopping by.

Color Throw Down Challenge #594

Happy Saturday everyone. I found this challenge (again) this morning and decided to make a card for it and then decided to make another, so I have two cards to share with you.  I actually played with Color Throw Down way back when I was stamping a lot and loved doing the color challenges.  Color challenges can give you a lot of inspiration.

For the first card I used the stamp set Butterfly Basics and the dies that go with it.  As I said in my last post, this is one of my favorite stamp sets. It is so versatile and the dies are fantastic.  So here is my butterfly card.

Now here is my second card and for this one I used the old stamp set Motorcycle.  This is always a good card for a man and a woman. I have a good friend that just finally sold her pink motorcycle and now just rides with her husband.  But I do love this old standbys stamp.

Please let me know what you think.  Enjoyed playing today!

Butterfly Basics-Retro Rubber Challenge Blog

Hope everyone is doing well. I used one of my old time favorite stamp sets today to make this card for this weeks Retro Rubber Challenge.  There challenge was Tic Tac Toe and you had to choose 3 in a straight line, tic tac toe style.  I chose die cut, birthday, and bright colors.  This is just my style.  Another reason for playing this challenge is most of my stamps are over a year old and that is one of the rules. I think Butterfly basics is around 3-5 years old, maybe older.  For the bright colors, I used Melon Mambo (one of my favorite colors) and gum ball green. There were spots I double stamped off the paper to lighten the color some, but they are the only two colors I used. I also used the bold butterfly framelits for the butterfly.  So now for the card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and please check out the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.
Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend.

Uplifting Card

This weeks Stampin Up Only Challenge is to Celebrate Women.  Well I was looking at my punches and I saw my old bird punch and decided to use it along with another punch to highlight the sentiment of one of the stamps in The Rose Wonder set.  What a beautiful set it is, even though I only used one of them.  It is actually one of my favorite stamp sets.  I also stamped flowers in black on a white paper for the background using the stamp set Secret Garden and even added color over them by sponging. So without further ado, here it is.

If you use Stampin Up, please try out this challenge and do a card for a beautiful lady in your life.  We all need some uplifting right now and what better way to celebrate a friend than to send a card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Hi everyone, I am back with a card for this weeks Paper Players Challenge.  I love a good color challenge and this one worked great for a card I wanted to make for a friend of mine.  Colors for the challenge were pool party, melon mambo and apple green.  I did not have the apple green, so I used the gum ball green.  Stamp set used was Beautiful You by Stampin Up and used the balloon punch.  I also used one of the stamps to make the design paper.

Don’t you just love this stamp-set?   Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a beautiful day. Stay Home and stay safe!

The Paper Players - PP488 sketch challenge

Hi everyone and I am back Playing with the Paper Players blog challenge today.  It was a sketch and I decided to repurpose a card a friend sent to me.  I just loved the art and wording on it, so, why not share with someone else.  And since it was sitting on my desk this morning when I went and looked at the challenge, it just seemed right.  I am a stickler for not throwing anything away I might be able to use in my card making and that can be dangerous. Haha.  Just so I don't do anything wrong, on the back of her card, it said, “Original Art by Jane Shasky.”  So if you want to look her up you can.  Now here is my card fir this challenge!

Decided to emboss the yellow paper with an old embossing folder I got way back when i began stamping.   Not sure of name, but I do love it.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you stay safe in your home!  Also, repurpose those cards!
