Door Prize

Today is a stamp a stack that one of my customers is doing at her home for her friends in the development she lives in. I did the first one for them last year at about this time and boy was it something. I learned a lot from that one and of course it was one of my first. It was still a success, but we had glitter everywhere. Anyway, this is going to be the door prize for this stamp-a-stack. I will post the hostess gift later, just in case she has time to look at my blog prior to me getting there. This candle is about 2-3/4" round by 2-3/4" tall. So again I cut two pieces of cardstock 11 x 9. Scored at 3" on bottom of long side and 2" on top of long side. Then I scored at 3" on each side of short side. Hope you understand. I then turn down the 2" to show the other side of the DSP paper. I adhered the sides together with sticky tape, folded the bottom in and adhered with sticky tape, then used eyelets on the side to pull the ribbon through for the handle. Also, I spritzed with shimmer paint. I wish you could see the shimmer on the bag, but I assure you it is pretty.

Baby Shower Stampin

My daughter was helping give a baby shower this weekend and so I helped her get ready for it. As you can see the theme was Wild About You. I love that stamp set and hated that it retired. It is one I will probably always hold on to. Anyway, she actually is going to use the onesies as a banner held up with small clothes pins, but she made them into a card and stamped Thank you on the inside so they could be used as thank you cards after the shower. I thought that was a great idea. We got the instructions here, which we found the site from splitcoast stampers, and used So Saffron card stock and classic ink, and Certainly Celery card stock and classic ink. Also to make the neckline and leg holes we used the 1-3/8" round punch and used that punch for the animal on the card. Round Scallop punch was also used.

Certainly Celery & So Saffron card stock and classic ink. Added a touch of bashful blue cardstock. 1/4" white grosgrain ribbon. Scallop edge punch, 1-3/8" round punch and scallop round punch.

She also decided to make a diaper cake. Is this not cute. She used the same stamp set again to decorate around the cake. Wide green ribbon came from AC Moore and I am unsure of where she purchased the Giraffe, but it could not have matched better. She also added the green ribbon to the giraffe. It was absolutely too cute. Hopefully this will give you ideas for your next baby shower gathering.

All White

Thought I would get one more in tonight for a challenge I saw at Colour Create. All white card except for image. I may be a little off with the ribbon, but had to add something. I used the cuddlebug to give it some dimension with the snowflake folder. I then spritzed it with the champagne shimmer mist. Yes, I used it again. It is a habit with me now. I also used the delightful decorations again with the Four The Holidays sentiment. You would think I did not own any other stamp sets, but these have become one of my favorites. The ribbon is the 1/2" Bermuda Bay polka dot. Classic ink was also the bermuda bay. Well it is time to go to bed.

Workshop Card

My workshop on Tuesday night was really a success and we all had a great time. I think the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint went over very well. Who doesn't like some shimmer at times. This was a card that I took to make in case we finished the box in time, which you can see here. We did and this easy card went together really quick. It is hard to see in the picture, but the card really shimmers. I just love the Shimmer paint. And of course again I am using the Delightful Decorations stamp set. That set along with the punch make a card so easy. The paper I used is the Pale Plum along with the incolor Rich Razzleberry. It also goes good together. The other stamp for the sentiment is Four the Holidays. Thanks for looking.

Hostess Gift

I had a workshop last night and this was my hostess gift. I made the bag by measuring the candle and then taking two pieces of paper measuring the candle. I then knew the width and the height I needed the bag. It came out to 12 x 9 for each sheet of paper. 12 was the height and 9 was the width. I scored at 3 and six on the 9" side and at 3" and 10" on the other side. The score that was 2" from the top, I folded down to make the top. I the put the two together to form the bag with sticky tape. Then cut the corners on the bottom and folded them in and sticky taped them together. Added the handle and tag and was done. Hopefully you can understand what I did.

To make the candle I used a retired stamp set and stamped on white tissue paper, cut the stamped images out and placed on the candle. I then used waxed paper to hold in place while using a heat gun to melt the image into the candle. Click here for a actual tutorial of how to stamp in candles. It will explain it a lot better than I did. It is so simple and so easy.

Christmas Candles

I did some work last week on candles, which I have only did once before, trying to get some gift ideas. I think they turned out really one. One stamp set I used was the Patterned Pines which is a hostess gift from Stampin' Up!'s Christmas mini catalog. If you look at my previous post, you will see I have used it quite a bit since I received it. The other stamp set is one I have had for quite some time and thought it was a good size to put on the candles. It thought they turned out quite well. I may see if one of my workshop groups would like to do the candles for a class. They are really easy.

I used the classic inks on these which are basic brown, real red and always artichoke. For the stars I used Summer Sun.

Patterned Pines

I worked all day getting ready for the workshop and class I have coming up this week. But, now it is time to post another card I made with the hostess stamp set in the mini catalog, Stampin' Up!. At first I was not sure if I would like it, but now I think it is one of my favorite. This card is so simple, yet elegant and you really need to see it in person to see the real shimmer it has. I actually saw one like this on a blog but can not remember where I saw it. But, I thought it was pretty so I decided to case it with a few changes. But the gray and the white with the iridescent ice embossing powder really look good. Again I spritzed the card with the champagne shimmer paint and you can see a few shimmery spots in the picture.

Shimmer Paint Wows

I am just loving this shimmer paint. It really brightens up a Christmas Card. I worked some last night with my downline to help her get a Christmas card class together. I wish I had took some pictures of some of the cards we put together, but I did not think about it until she left. But after she left, I knew I still had to get ready for a workshop on Tuesday and for a card class on Saturday (next week). So I needed to put together 1 more easy card for Tuesday night. Well I made 4 cards before I came up with the one we will do on Tuesday if we have time after making the box. Of course, this is not the one, because what I first had I did not like so I started adding. I do like the finished product, but it takes a little more time to make than we will have time. But I wanted to post it anyway just to show what you can do when you are just trying to be creative. It can always come together.



This is the view of the background which is on the Bordering blue cardstock which shows the snowflakes I added using the Champagne Mist Shimmer paint. I used the sponge daubers to put it right on the stamp and then stamped the image. I hope you can see the shimmer. I then used my spritz and spritzed the whole card with the shimmer paint. I am definitely going to purchase the other two shimmer paints. I just love the effect you get with the shimmer paint and I will be demoing that in my workshop on Tuesday.

I was unsure of how I was going to like this hostess stamp set which is in the Holiday Mini Catalog, but with this card, I love it. It turned out so pretty. I used the sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch. I don't know if you can see the sparkle or shimmer, but I did use the Iridescent Ice with the Real Red classic ink and versamark to give it the sparkle. I was thrilled with the turn out. Don't know if you can see the additional sparkle or not, but I also used the shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and spritzed the card to give it an additional shimmer. Really cool!

Happy Waiting

We had another announcement at church this morning, so I had to come home and get busy making another card using my old standby stamp set by Stampin' Up! "Swell News". When I was trying to decide what to do, I found this sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch and knew it would do this card justice. So here it is! Also while I was out looking, I knew it would go well with the challenge from Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge where you were to make a baby card or project, or a card for an expectant mother. So I got two challenges in one card. How cool is that? It came from their scripture for today Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you..." (NIV). That is actually what reminded me to do a card for the mother and father.

I actually went into my stash of retired products from Stampin' Up! on this one except for the Pretty in Pink and Whisper White Cardstock and the markers I used for the hair and book. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Holy Family

As I said in my previous post, today is play time. When you are trying to get ready for workshops, card classes, etc., sometimes stampin becomes a job. You have to spend some time playing and doing what you like most. So that is what I have been doing today. I love this stamp set, but had only found a couple of cards I really liked when complete. Today, I looked at Stamping 411 and just fell in love with their sketch and knew this stamp set would work. The one to the right is the second one I did with the sketch, because the one below, I did not cut the last two sizes. After I was finished I noticed it was not quite the sketch, but I liked it also. Both look good and may be the cards I use for my Christmas Cards this year.

I also spritzed them with the shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol. It really is great and the card actually shimmers. I just love the shimmer paint. I just love stampin! lol You can't really see the affect in the picture, but the card actually shimmers.

Other items used were card stock, soft suede and rich razzleberry - classic Ink - Old Olive, soft suede, rich razzleberry, so saffron. I used the ink pressed on the inside of the cover and colored the picture with a blender pen. 3/4" and 1" punch. Soft Suede polka dot ribbon. The other stamp set used besides Holy Family was Four the Holidays and the Star with Merry Christmas was from Delightful Decorations.

Christmas Boxes

I have a friend of mine who wanted me to make him 3 boxes for his daughter and 2 daughter-in-laws for Christmas presents. So last night after a very busy week of workshops and working to get other workshops together, I finally had time to do something and decided to do the boxes for Dan and get them out of the way. I am planning on doing some bags and other things as time progress. I will try to keep them posted and hopefully it will not be as long between the next post. I used all Stampin' Up! retired items on this except for the Old Olive paper and the Confetti Cream. The stamp set is also current from the holiday mini, Delightful Decorations and I also used the Top Note Die from Stampin' Up! for the top and bottom. I can see myself using this for quite a few different items and the stamp set and punch. Makes things so easy. Snowflake

Well I finally got my MOJO Monday done for the week and also incorporated the Pink Elephant. I was thinking it was going to be a difficult card, but it actually turned out pretty easy. I have a book of Christmas paper I bought maybe 2 Christmas' ago and decided to pull it out and use some of it. It is very seldom that I deviate from Stampin' Up! paper because I really like the quality of the paper. But, there are times when you just need to use up your old-old stash and so last night was the night. It actually matched very well with the Stampin Up card stock, Rose Red. So, I used Whisper white as the base and for the stamp and Rose Red for the background for the stamps. I stamped the image using Rose Red Classic Ink and used the 1/4" grosgrain rose red ribbon for the tag. The two stamp sets I used were Lace Snowflakes (very old set) and the new set Delightful Decorations. I also added some sparkle by embossing with Iridescent Ice.
