{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #6 - Follower

Hello Friends!  I look so forward to these Glory Art Scripture challenges twice a month as I love creating these mixed media pieces.  I have never taken any classes, probably should, but I just look at u-tube every once in a while or PINTEREST and get some good ideas.  But not only that, it really challenges me to look and study God's Word.  I want to make sure that what I do will bring glory to God.

So this week Patter gave us the word Follower.  And about 6 months ago, I did a bible study called "Are You a Fan."  Well this just reminded me so much of that study.  Because it is so easy to put yourself in the fan status which is a lot easier than the follower status.  There are a lot of people who are fans, but only a few who truly follow Jesus Christ.  As I was thinking about this, the verse from Luke 9:23 kept coming to my mind, "And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."  You see Jesus never told His Disciples it would be easy and He did not tell us it would be easy.  If you read more into Luke 9: 24-25, Jesus goes on to say, " For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. 25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?"  You see it may be difficult at times, but the outcome will be worth it all.

So I hope my mixed media canvas represents this verse well.  It did not come out exactly as I had planned, but I think God may have had a different design than mine.

For some reason the purple has always seemed like it should go with the cross, so I did more purple where the cross would go.  Actually thank you so much Patter.  I won a pack of Blue Fern Studio Ornate Crosses from you way back and this is one I had left and used it on my canvas

And here is a close up of the cross and verse.  The left part of the canvas on top is like a dogwood tree.  I tried to get it to stand out better, but this is what came through.

And then the lower part of the canvas to show the beauty of serving our Lord.

I hope you can see what I saw in this piece.  It may not be my best, but what it betrays is the best.

Make sure you go by and check out Patter's post as you will not be sorry.  It is wonderful as always. Blessing to you all.
