Cute Kittens

Another week of too much to do and not enough time for stampin. Finally got to the Mojo Monday Sketch and actually added High Hopes in for the sparkle and shine to make this card. I love these little kittens that come with the Stampin' Up! set "A Kind Word", but had never used them and thought this would be the "purrrfect" time. They fit great in a circle and so here they are. I also love this new designer paper, "Cottage Wall". The colors are just great together.

Stampin' Up! card stock - Old Olive, Orchid Opulence, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White. The flowers were white and I used the sponge daubers and Rich Razzleberry Classic Inc to die them. I also used the Square Ice Brads. Other items used was stickles for the shimmer in the tub and around the scallops.

Leaving Ocracoke

I just love Triple the Sketch layouts. It sure does keep up with my scrapbooking and they are such great sketches. You can make them a little fancy or bring them down to your level. Great way to keep up your scrapbooking. This is the day we left Ocracoke on the ferry headed home and the pictures we took. I just loved it there and am so glad to have memories of this trip with our friends. And of course again I used the shells we picked up on the beach as embellishments. I just love this idea. It was a great trip and a great day to do some scrapbooking.

Finishing Granddaughters Scrap Book

This is the first of 4 pages I did to finally finish up my granddaughter's scrapbook for her birthday in May. So you see how long it took me. Too much to do when you work and try to play! I actually took the Friday Sketchers challenge and turned it to do this layout. I really liked the sketch and thought it would make a great page and of course it did. Also the next sketch I used another challenge.It was a new sketch I just found and am so glad I did. I love to follow a sketch and with this one I followed the sketch from If the shoe fits scrap it. So it did fit and I scrapped it! The layout was great, but don't know if it turned out the way I wanted, but it did match the other page and I can put them together in the book. I will definitely keep an eye on this new blog. Please check it out.

The next two pages, I just threw together so I could finish up. I still have to cover the actually scrapbook and of course will post when I finish. Hope you enjoyed looking and thanks for stopping by.

My Feathered Friend

Well here I am using "Cheep Talk" (Stampin' Up!) again. I have fell in love with this stamp set. It is so versatile and really adds to a card without using Designer Series Paper (which I have gotten hooked on). I was trying to decide what I could use for a workshop in August that the Hostess wanted a punched window to show through and I knew this was the set to use, and also I could use it for the Stamp Something Challenge today which was to use winged somethings. I just love this new in-color, rich razzleberry, with the orchid opulence from Stampin' Up! They really go great together and the ribbon just ties it together. I actually used the Scallop Circle punch for the inside bird that shows through (if that makes sense). I stamped the bird on whisper white, punched it out with the 1-1/4 circle punch and attached it to the punched out scallop circle and adhered it to the inside of the card. Punched the hole on top with the 1-3/8 circle punch. When it comes together you see the white and the rich razzleberry from the front of the card. Very cute and so easy to do. I also did another card below for the workshop, but I will be using the top one I do believe.

With this card, I used the hostess set "Wings of Friendship" and the same color cardstock as card above. Thanks so much for looking.

Hello Birdie

Finally got to Mojo Monday Sketch. It seems that I can not catch up lately. Maybe that will change shortly. Anyway, Here is my card and I also used the bird so I could do the Pink Elephant Challenge. I was going to use a cat, but I just thought the stamp set "Cheep Talk" would look much better, so here it is. Really great sketch to use with this set.

All supplies Stampin' Up! Stamp Set - Cheep Talk. Card Stock - Very Vanilla, Tempting Turquoise. Designer Series Paper - Flock together. Markers - Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive. Ribbon - 1/4" Tempting Turquoise grosgrain.

Ocracoke Lighthouse layout

I was so excited about this layout because I absolutely love this lighthouse and I thought the layout turned out great. When we were there this past week, I made sure we got a picture of the lighthouse along with a picture of our friends. It was a great time and this will be a great memory. Of course I did not have time to make the second layout to match, but I will get to it this week, I hope. I used the sketch from Black Magic Sketches and it worked great for these pictures which could not be cropped. So instead of using four pictures, I used two. Also had to incorporate the color black and three colors,green, brown, orange & white, of four which were required. So I did the black with the stampin on the bottom and embossed the stamped letters on top with the black from Stampin' Up! Stampin' glitter, "Fine Galaxy". I also used the Scrap and Stamp Saturday challenge which was to do a layout about anything that involves water, two patterned papers, three embellies, and at least one stamped object in our layout!!! I do believe the lighthouse involves water, I used three patterned papers (which is retired Stampin' Up! designer paper). The embellishments were the 3 shells that I picked up on the beach (another water involvement) and the two flower brads from Stampin' Up! Thanks so much for looking.

Get Well Soon

It has been a nice relaxing day today. Just spent most of the day stampin. What else could you ask for? One week without stampin and I felt like I was learning something new.

This is a sketch I got from Sketch Saturday. They have a wonderful prize for this week. Please check it out. And I also got the color combination from Color Throwdown. It actually keeps me using colors that I don't think about putting together. Like this Garden Green, Lavender Lace and So Saffron. Actually blends very well. As Cindy was saying when we redid the cabinets in my kitchen this week, "makes it pop". It does kind of stand out. It has been a while since I just used solid colors with no designer series paper. I'm loving it!

Vacation Layouts

I'm Back! We had a wonderful time on Ocracoke Island and went with our Wonderful Friends from Virginia. We had not seen them in about 4 years and it was nice to get together and talk about our children and what they were up to. They are such good friends that when we returned on Thursday, we started renovating our kitchen. All we did was mention what we were thinking about doing with the cabinets and they said "Let's do it" and we did. That is what you call friends. We worked for two solid days moving cabinets and painting, adding lights under the counter and just were amazed at what we accomplished. I just love it and love them.

I did a few layouts from our trip below and actually got the layout sketch from Triple the Sketch Friday and it worked wonderfully for the trip. Isn't it great when a plan comes together. I also had to add 3 embellishments and I added the small shells I picked up on the beach in Ocracoke along with the silver '09 and attached them by using silver brads. So there are the 3 embellishments. I just love the way it turned out. Of course I had to do a second page to match the first and you will also see it below. Going on vacation

I just wanted you all to know I would not be posting for a week. I am going on vacation. I know when I return I will need to make something quick just to get my fix. So please come back in a week to see what I have new.

Classy and Fabulous

I just love this stamp set "Classy and Fabulous" and yes it is still available on the dormant list. When I was trying to figure out which stamp set to use for the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge this is the one I picked. It really turned out great with all the new in-colors. The more I use these new in-colors the more I like them. The saying on the outside says "A girl should be two things, classy and fabulous". On the inside of the card it says "like you". A great card to send for any occasion.

"Hello baby" bag

This is the bag I made at my workshop last night. The others used the new in colors with the Razzledazzle Designer Series paper which I already had cut out for them and with this bag, I showed them how to cut it out and score it. I had some of the cut out and scored pieces left over, so I may do one of them and post it in the next few day. This is such an easy bag to make and of course I will share with you the site I saw it on and the site where you can get the directions. Kerin Sylvester is just wonderful with all of her creations. Please check her site out. There is also a post from last week with another one I made just like this one except with different paper. This also qualifies me for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge, cut it out and pop it up. I cut the elephant out of the paper and then I popped it up with a pop dot.

Butterflies

Well, I am still trying out the new in colors and this is the first time I have used the Crushed Curry and the Dusty Durango. They actually look great together. The more I use them the more I like them. The idea for this card came from Card Patterns Sketch. They really have some great sketches so please check them out. Also the High Hopes Challenge this week is polka Dots. I think the dots in the butterfly count. I also used the new designer series paper, Razzleberry Lemonade. The stamp set is Flight of the Butterfly. And this year Stampin' Up! is also doing markers in the in colors. So I used the Dusty Durango marker and the Crushed Curry. I also added sticles to the dots in the butterfly and the middle of the flowers to give them a boost.

Life's A Breeze

Life's A Breeze and that is just what I want it to be at this stage in my granddaughter's life. No need to worry about anything. She really had fun at her birthday party and what a blast it was to see her so happy. I am still working on her birthday scrapbook and this is yet another page done. Inspiration came from Ed's Sketch Challenge. I used a 8 1/2 X 8 1/2 layout with this sketch. I do like this size and ordered the "On Board Album" for her pages. I am planning on decorating it, but haven't got that far yet. Once I do, I will definitely post it for you to see.

Thinking of You Card Pack

This is one of a 4 pack of cards that I made for a older lady in our church who asked me to make her some "Thinking of You" cards. I was so excited to make them for her, because she helped us this week in Vacation Bible School and did a wonderful job. I will give them to her Sunday. I felt they should be simple and not all decked out because I think that is what she will like. The rest of the cards are below and also the holder I made to put them in. I got the sketch idea from Stamp With Us Challenge Sunday. It was simple, yet elegant looking and I decided to use it for these cards. Sometimes simple is the best, especially when you are making them for someone and you are not sure if they like glitzy. I did make mine the regular card shape and their sketch was square. I also stamped on flower on the inside of the card to add a little more. She is a special lady and deserves special cards. She always sends out cards if you miss a Sunday and is always there. I got the instructions on how to do this pouch from here. Wonderful instructions!

All New

The more I use this set, the more I like it. I got it mostly to make some baby cards, but last night thought I would try it on a regular card and it works. This is for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Isn't this a great sketch. I had to re-stamp the elephant and saying, because once again I turned the stamp upside down and I'm not quite as bad as my daughter who would have turned it around and stamped again for a mirror image. lol She is too funny. Now, I did get the friend a little crooked, but I thought, looks as though it goes in a circle. What do you think?
